Maple Treeway was certainly quite a bustling place with there being new trees going here, there, and everywhere since there was plenty of racing action going on to make 1's head spin! Certainly was a case for the rather unlucky red robed Shy Guy who was trying to keep his focus on the road since he was not only being knocked about by the various Miis racing around with their powered up Stars but also the various Blue Shells that were zipping through the forest and bark without pausing; indeed a portal even opened up to the Grumble Volcano that sent all the racers going straight into the red hot magma. "Oh geeze; why am I always the brunt of these courses so much? Is it because my mask keeps my true feelings hidden deep...?"
