VOICE 2: There is a small light, doctor.
VOICE 1: Ah, yes. Thank you.
VOICE 2: What are you doing? Shake your leg any harder and it will surely fall off.
VOICE 1: Sorry, I'm just nervous. I haven't done many mind melds. The last time was with Shepard, and that was more of a personal matter.
VOICE 2: You have been bonded with the Commander?
VOICE 1: What? No, nothing like that! We're just close friends…
VOICE 2: I sense you have regrets.
VOICE 1: Let's just get on with it, shall we?
VOICE 2: Yes, of course.
VOICE 1: Hello, I'm Liara T'Soni. Today, I will be joining minds with Javik. This video log will provide a record of events and will serve to inform our book. By joining minds, we hope to learn more about each other and our respective species. I also hope to gain a complete Prothean cipher, so I may better understand the many Prothean relics that have yet to be fully studied.
VOICE 2: And I, Javik, will also be reading Dr. T'Soni as she attempts to link minds with me. I do not know if such a thing is possible, but we will endeavor nonetheless.
VOICE 1: Are you ready?
VOICE 2: Yes. Let us begin.
VOICE 1: Embrace eternity!
[indistinguishable sounds]
VOICE 1: Hhhhhhhhhuhhh. Goddess…Javik…
VOICE 2: Are you hurt, Dr. T'Soni?
VOICE 1: No. I'm fine. That was…
VOICE 2: Most enlightening.
VOICE 1: I…I'm so sorry.
VOICE 2: What for?
VOICE 1: I had no idea.
VOICE 2: What did you see?
VOICE 1: What happened, with your crew. Your men.
VOICE 2: Please, I do not want to know.
VOICE 1: I won't. I won't, Javik.
VOICE 2: I have read an asari only once before. A very shallow reading in comparison. Our mutual contact has allowed me to read much, much more.
VOICE 1: What do you mean?
VOICE 2: There is something…something I am suspicious of. But I cannot confirm it with this reading alone. We will need to find out more.
VOICE 1: That's rather ominous.
VOICE 2: I do not believe it is something to fear. We will see. And you…did you find what you were seeking?
VOICE 1: I… I think I have the cipher.
VOICE 2: Are you certain?
VOICE 1: It's—it's all very clear. Not like the chaotic images Shepard had in her mind. This may be complete.
VOICE 2: There is only one way to find out.
VOICE 1: Thank you, Javik.
VOICE 2: It is I who should thank you, Liara. You have given me hope.
