Serious Injury Day 13

Christina breached the door to a building in North Korea. The Intel they had suggested an upcoming attack with a new bioweapon. As soon as they breached the door, her senses went off. She yelled for everyone to get down. She felt an agonizing pain in her shoulder and side. Then she hit the ground, and everything went dark.

Damian walked briskly toward the med wing. He would run if he could, but he'd broken his leg, and his healing factor would heal it by tomorrow. Christina got the worst of the attack, and if she didn't have a healing factor, she could've died. The Army had sent them on a mission to North Korea to retrieve information on a new bioweapon. Everything was fine until the building exploded. Christina got hit by shrapnel in her shoulder and side. She had been out for a day, and he was on his way to check on her. He had stayed with her until he was physically dragged from her room by Peter. He had said,

"You won't do her any good if you can't stand up. Go eat and get yourself some sleep." So Damian did. It was about eleven p.m when he woke up. Damian decided to go back to her room, so he started walking there. When he finally got to her, he almost collapsed from their bond losing contact. He pulled up a chair, and settled his hand on her wrist. He wanted her to wake up so bad. He just wanted her to be okay, to come back to him. Then he heard her softly whimpering.

"Ari, can you hear me? Open your eyes, please!" He pleaded.

"Dami, it hurts, did I get hit by a jet?" Christina grimaced, as she tried to sit up.

"No, not a jet. It was shrapnel from an explosion in North Korea. Please don't try to sit up, Ari," Damian said adjusting the bed, so she would stop trying to move. It pained him to see her hurt. He wished he could take all her pain away. He could do the next best thing, though. Soulmate bonds had the ability to numb pain enough to make it bearable. He moved his hand to her other wrist and settled it over her mark. "Is that a little better?" He asked.

"Yes it is. Thank you Dami. Did you get any sleep?" Christina asked, raising an eyebrow at her soulmate, who had the tendency to forget about himself when anyone was in danger or hurt.

"Your brother made me sleep and eat earlier. I didn't want to leave you, but he made a good case. The rest of the team is fine aside from some minor injuries." He replied.

"Good, how long do I have to stay in bed?" Christina asked him.

"Dr. Cho said about a week, depending on how fast your healing works." He replied, chuckling at the look she gave him.

"What, my dear Commander, do you think is funny about this situation?" She asked, eyebrows still raised.

"Nothing, Ari, nothing at all." He chuckled, staring at her.

"You do realize that I have ten meetings that I need to attend, and I'm getting bored."

"So am I. Who do you want us to traumatize now?" Damian asked, smirking.

"How about Piper? From the time she joined us, I don't think she has ever been traumatized by us." Christina said.

"That sounds brilliant," Damian agreed, then they started working on their plan. Since Christina wasn't allowed up,she set Crystal to announce Piper whenever she walked through a door as "The Little Mermaid". Damian made Adrian open and close the doors randomly when she walked by them. He also made sure she had to give a tour. When she went to hand out the passes Clint and Aslan walked by. Damian sent them to her as "help" for the tour. In reality, they were there to set up the other pranks. Meanwhile Christina and Damian were in a video meeting, still bored out of their brains. They were actually also watching Piper's reactions to the pranks, and trying not to laugh.
