Never in a million years would you think there was a full fledge studio apartment, spacious at that, underneath the building above them. It was very industrial, paying homage to the original building. A large bare bed was on the far wall, nightstands on either side. The kitchen had a bar top with a few stools. The couch was a soft, black leather, accompanied by two matching loveseats. The style was almost American.

Mika walked over to the heater and turned it on, "It should warm up soon." Her eyes scanned, making sure everything was in place, "It's not over the top, but, it'll do."

"It's perfect," he set his bag down and looked around, "You're way cooler than me."

She chuckled as she pulled some sheets out of the closet, "I wouldn't say that. I just wanted a place where I could get away if I needed."

"How often do you come here?" He looked over the steel beams that made up the ceiling.

"More than I thought," she placed the black sheets on the bed, "If I feel overwhelmed, or need a break, I'll come down here for a bit."

He walked over and helped her settle the comforter, "It seems like a nice place to forget the world."

She smiled, "It is." She pointed through a set of double doors, "The bathroom is down that hallway. There is also a small escape route that's ends up at the harbor." She threw the pillows on the bed, "You can make yourself comfortable here."

Mika walked to the bar and set her laptop up, opening a security system, activating it. Hawks yawned and grabbed his bag, "I'm gonna shower."

Mika nodded and watched as he disappeared through the doors. She swore to never tell a soul about this place, now she was not only sharing with with a hero, she also needed to let a whole group of them know where they were. She took this moment to change into a pair of sleeping shorts and tshirt, the heater was quickly doing it's job, making it comfortable in here. She laid back on the couch and texted Hallie, sending her, her location. So much was happening and changing this last month, she hadn't had time to comprehend it all.

Her eyes closed as her mind started swirling, processing. She needed to figure out their next move. Hawks still couldn't fly, so putting him out there wasn't an option. I'll have to do it myself, she thought.

"If you think any harder you'll give yourself a headache," Hawks leaned on the back of the couch.

She peeped open an eye, "I'm already there Bird Boy. I need to figure out what's next."

He reached down and flicked her head, "We have help for that you know."

"I'm not used to help," she looked at him, "so to me, no, I don't."

He grinned, "But you do, and he's pretty handsome."

"He is, but, he's also impulsive."

Hawks blushed, his feathers ruffled, "I'm not impulsive."

Mika laughed, "Yes, you are. You know you are."

"Maybe I'm just thinking ahead," he huffed.

She smirked and sat up, "Whatever helps you sleep at night."

She moved to get up when he grabbed her, "You help me sleep at night."

A small blush appeared on her cheeks, "Good. I wouldn't be able to stand you cranky."

He chuckled and released her, "I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable earlier."

Mika had to think for a moment before it dawned on her. She shook her head, "Not at all." She ruffled his damp hair and moved to check her cameras.

"Good." He watched her for a moment, "I don't wanna fuck it up."

"If anyone fucked it up, it would be me," her phone buzzed, she opened it, responding to Hallie's message.

"Why do you think that?"

"Because," she closed the computer and looked at him, "I tried dating one time, it did not go well. It was mostly my fault." A sigh left her, "I have a lot of issues with myself, sometimes I shut down."

"That's to be expected," he moved and leaned on the bar counter across from her, "What's important is allowing someone to be there during those times."

She pointed at him, "That is the issue." She bit her lip, "I guess I don't feel worthy of that luxury."

"Well, that's dumb," Hawks placed his chin on his palm, "You deserve everything."

"Not after the things I've done."

"I've done bad things too, Mika. While we can't erase them, we can move from them and become something better."

Mika ran a hand through her hair and nodded, "Yeah."

Hawks thought for a moment before pushing off of the bar, walking up to her. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against his chest. She breathed deeply, relaxing in his arms. He was patient with her, never pushing her, just guiding her. "Mika."

"Yeah?"

"Can I show you what you deserve?" He softly pet her head.

She nodded, "Yes."

Before she could blink, his lips captured hers in a hungry, deep kiss. For a brief moment, she was taken aback. Sure they had kissed before, but not like this. She relaxed into his arms, winding her arms around his neck.

Hawks pulled their lips apart and nuzzled against her cheek, "Come to bed with me."

Mika's brain was mush as she nodded, reaching over and clicking off the main lights. Small nightlights on a few of the walls lit their way as she followed him. He pulled her to him and softly ran his hands through her hair, placing small kisses along her cheekbone, to her lips and slowly to her neck.

She closed her eyes, the familiar goosebumps crawling back onto her skin at the feeling of his lips. Her breath hitched when his tongue flicked against her skin. He grinned and gently slid his hands underneath her shirt, continuing his actions. Her skin began to feel warm, and the once comfortable shirt she donned, was scratchy and irritating. Luckily, her partner pulled it from her body, keeping her close for warmth as he tossed it aside.

He was taking his time with her, something he wasn't known for. But, tonight he was a man on a mission. When their skin made contact, it took everything he had to keep himself in check. It felt like a fire shot through him, something he wasn't familiar with.

The cool sheets felt nice against her skin when he laid her back onto the bed. He stayed close to her, making her comfort his top priority. His lips traveled down her collarbone, kissing and nipping the soft skin delicately. His hands softly traced the curve of her hips, working their way to her thighs. A soft moan escaped her lips when his mouth settled on her breast. The sound was music to his ears, he wanted more of it.

Mika's hands wound into his golden strands. She had no thoughts, just the feeling of them together. Their lips met in a deep, passionate kiss.

"Are you still okay," he stayed close, placing soft kisses on her face.

"Yes," she looked at him with hazy grey eyes.

"That's my girl," he lips set to work again, his hands carefully getting rid of her shorts, tossing them aside. Her skin was sinfully soft underneath his hands. He kissed his way along her abs, nipping on her hip bone, earning a soft sigh as his reward. Hawks kissed his way down, earning a soft moan when he reached his destination.

Mika bit her lip as a wave of pleasure ran through her body. Gods he knew hat he was doing, and he did it painfully well. Her back arched from the sheets as he continued. Her hands gripped the sheet like her life depended on it. Her cheeks felt warm as her eyes closed, another soft moan escaping her lips. He nipped her thighs before his lips met hers in a series of hungry kisses. His hands wound into her hair, making sure their lips stayed connected. Her nails traced along his skin, giving him goosebumps.

"Listen to me," his voice was soft, and husky, "if at any point and time, you want me to stop," he kissed her softly, "you tell me." He nipped her lips, "Understand?"

"I understand," she ran a hand through his hair, "I promise."

Mika had, had sex a couple of times since her incident, but, it was nothing like this. This was...on another level. Hawks was so gentle and kind, his hands wound into her hair as his moved his hips slowly. He didn't hurt her, making sure he took his time as they melded together. She moaned softly against his lips when he moved deeper, her back arched instinctively.

He grinned as he continued, his lips landed on her collarbone, where he harshly nipped her flesh. Mika's nails raked up his back, making him groan against her skin and move his hips faster. She smirked, she had yet to press his buttons.

His hands moved to her hips as he continued, moving as deep as he could. Mika let out a shaky breath at the feeling and gripped his shoulders. Her soft moans were enough to dive him to the edge, making him move harder against her. He wanted this every chance he could get it, with her.

Their lips met in a sinful kiss as the hit their climax. Hawks moaned against her lips as he gripped her hips. Mika fought to catch her breath as she gripped the back of his neck.

He slowly removed his hands and softly wound them up her body as he gently kissed her cheeks. He reached and pulled the blanket over them, for warmth. His hands pet her hair as they laid in comfortable silence. He rested on his elbows and looked at her, "You deserve that every damn day."

Mika's already flushed cheeks turned darker, "You think so?"

"Yes ma'am," he kissed her swollen lips, "and I'm going to make sure you get it."

She rolled her eyes with a smile, "Hush."

Hawks grinned and buried his head into her neck, "Thank you for trusting me."

She closed her eyes, "I trust you with my life."

He closed his eyes and wound his fingers into her hair. His wings relaxed and laid out comfortably on them. Mika felt the heaviness as she came down from her high, her eyes growing tired as sleep claimed her.
