"Let me recall what happened in our game last time…" Edwards tapped his chin while trying to get through a coughing fit, "Ah yes, the prisoners had a grand old time trying to impress five different interns. George and Davy went to dangerous extremes, Clover decided to creep out the interns, Deena toyed with Danger, and Jade was very anticlimactic. Fortunately for Jade, Clover's performance happened to just be so awful that the interns got rid of her instead, but how much longer can the girl last when Davy and Deena are against her? I suppose we'll see…"
Intro Start
The intro started off with a shot of the prison, but instead of cameras popping out, the shot just went to static and cut over to the prison library.
"..." Inside the prison library, Aztaroth was reading a book but was interrupted when a loud crash came from behind him.
"..." The crash was revealed to have come from Romeo, who accidentally knocked over a bookshelf with his strength.
"..." After another static cut, Jade was seen picking up bits of litter in the courtyard, with a guard threatening to hit her if she didn't.
"..." Off in the distance, Picollo was washing off his makeup, suggesting that he didn't wanna wear it here.
"..." With the screen again turning to static, the shot was now of inside the cafeteria where Deena was eating breakfast for the day.
"..." Also in the cafeteria was Edna, who was eating god knows what.
"..." The shot stayed on Deena and Edna for a bit, before suddenly jumping to George who was looking outside from an old watchtower.
"..." George turned around, to see that a grinning Clover was behind him, causing the athlete to jump in surprise.
"..." With yet another static cut, we now got a shot of Relinda desperately trying to call someone on the prison phone, to no avail.
"..." Also in the phone room was Quinn, who had a chart of all the other contestants in her hand.
"..." Suddenly, the screen changed over to Davy and Rival, who were trying to avoid Edwards in the main cell block.
"..." Off to the left side of the cellblock, Jacque and Monica were trying to talk, but for some reason couldn't remember their conversation.
"..." Finally, on the right side of the cellblock was Salem, with the demon's eyes glowing with evil as he tapped his fingers together.
"...There is no escape…" Instead of the final shot of the intro being of the campers around some sort of campfire, it was of Abigor grinning manically, while holding the same blade he used to end Chris.
"...Indeed..." The camera zoomed in and pulled back to reveal Truthteller and Lyre, with the latter putting his hands in his face while the former was going over the plan to bomb the prison.
Intro End
"Right through here Eadbhert," Abigor told his new follower as he led him into the forbidden room in Hope's Lament's basement. Abigor opened the door to reveal the sight of something that looked like a giant tumor, with the book he used to summon Salem in the present sitting in the middle of this tumor-like... thing. "This, is a very powerful artifact I've found here. My acquaintance Gael never discovered it... somehow, but if he had, he possibly could've saved his life."
"What is it?" Eadberht asked while looking at the book.
Abigor pulled the book out from the mess in the room, "This, would be considered the antithesis to the holy bible, inside are multiple different forms of witchcraft and sorcery used to summon demons from hell, unfortunately, for all of this book's power, it cannot give me anything to destroy the world by myself, and I refuse to let the outcasts of heaven do it themselves."
"A man of god conspiring with the occult?" Eadberht chuckled, "I thought your attachment to your faith would keep you on the 'right path', despite your previous sins."
"I have no need to pretend I won't be sentenced to eternal damnation anymore, once I pass, I will face torture I won't even be able to comprehend, so why should I pretend I have anything to lose at this point? That would simply be pointless." Abigor set the book back in its place, "But beyond that, have you discovered what your ability is at this prison? If so, how useful is it to us?" Abigor questioned his follower.
Eadberht nodded, "Yes, I discovered it on my way here, actually, my body appears to be stronger than before. I tripped on the dock but felt no pain when I hit the ground, it felt like nothing happened."
"Intriguing..." Abigor placed his hand over his mouth while he thought about what that could be used for, "I suppose we should test it more later, but now's not the appropriate time, David wants to rid the world of a man who libeled him and ruined his reputation, so that must take priority."
"Indeed it should Abigor," Eadberht prepared to leave the room with Abigor in toe when he thought of something, "But I must ask, what did you gain to help this cause? I don't believe I remember you telling me what it was."
Abigor lightly grinned, "I can completely remove myself of this body, leaving only my spirit behind I presume. I've tested on other members in our group and I've discovered that I can use this to completely control a man's body. But... the limits of this witchcraft we've gained hold it back from being of use... We need a member to gain limitless knowledge soon, so our efforts won't be for naught."
Eadberht put his hands in his pockets and grinned back, "Yes, you've said it best, the world needs to pay for the suffering it causes us."
"Indeed Eadberht," Abigor clenched his fist and glared at the ground, "The world needs... retribution..."
Back in the present day, Davy was bobbing his head as he hummed a rock song in a cell in Cellblock C, he recently woke up, but he didn't feel like talking to others at the moment and wanted some 'me-time' in a sense. Davy kept humming as Silas suddenly appeared in front of him, with the rocker simply waving in response to the angel's presence there.
"Hello Davis, my apologies for none of us appearing in a while, but we've been trying to limit our visits with the dwindling number of prisoners here." Silas greeted Davy, who just laughed in response.
Davy looked up from the bed he was sitting in, "Pssh, Davy doesn't mind, he's confident that the plan thingy you told him about is going to pay off, so he doesn't care who does or doesn't show up."
"Speaking of the plan, you haven't told anyone about us here, right? I apologize for the distrust, but I just want to be sure." Silas questioned Davy, who shrugged the question off.
Davy shook his head, "Of course not, you wouldn't stop stressing to him how important this was, so he didn't tell anyone, pinkie promise."
Silas let out a sigh of relief, "That is quite relieving to hear, this plan can't take the risk of being discovered, so your cooperation will be met with our thanks. But moving on from that, did you read all of the journal entries? They are very important as well."
Davy pulled the journal out of his pocket and held it up, "Actually, Davy wanted to read the final entry with you, he figures you can answer any questions he might have. Davy wonders why the journal is even important anyways, it's from like, who knows how many years ago, so everybody in it is probably dead or something."
"You will see." Silas responded to Davy's question.
"I guess," Davy shrugged as he opened up the journal and read the final entry, "'Damnation! I was lied to! That bastard Frederick is still alive and he told the police about my crimes! I don't know how much time I have to write this as they approach the room I've locked myself in, but I won't fight back… not only do I not believe in murder, but they've also proven they don't deserve to know the special properties of this prison. I hope that someone in the future can find where I hide this journal, and I hope that person can carry on what I tried to do… I know what my fate is going to be so I won't waste my time except… Abigor, if you're reading this, I love you…'." Davy stopped after reading the entry, "Huh... that's kinda tragic... but still, what does this have to do with Davy and the rest of the prisoners?"
Silas softly sighed, "The man in that book, Abigor... he's still alive."
Davy stayed silent for a moment before laughing, "Oh come on! This dude from, like, the sixteen hundreds is still alive? Now Davy knows bullshit when he sees it and that is setting off all the alarms!"
Silas' light dimmed, "Unfortunately, it is not a joke. Abigor gained a blessing that allowed him to hide out in the prison for all these years, and this 'reality show' that Christopher McLean was planning on hosting was the perfect chance for him to be cruel to others for his own amusement. He truly believes that the world needs to suffer for Gael's death."
"You're... you're still joking right?" Davy stopped chuckling as the gravity of a very angry and powerful man being in control of everything popped in his mind, and that wasn't even considering the power he had with Salem on his side.
"As I said before, no... this is the truth we have to live with, and there is not much we can do to fight it except try desperately to fight back... I respect your bravery for going along with this Davy," Silas complemented Davy, "Not too many people have the same amount of courage you have to go along with this, especially with criminals... most would just leave after spotting the danger."
Davy gained a cocky look in response, "Yeah, but Davy's gonna have the power of three angels on his and Deena's side when we make it to the finale and ambush that bastard Abigor."
"That... Deena," Silas began, "She really means a lot to you, doesn't she? I mean, to be willing to do all of this for a chance for you two to be free together..."
Davy laughed a few times, "Yeah, she's Davy's partner in crime. Besides, the other two people here are either obnoxious prick or a bitch who tried to murder someone."
Silas stayed silent before revealing something to Davy, "Davis... about Jade."
"What, what is it?" Davy raised an eyebrow at Silas.
"Well... it's just that..."
George yawned as he got out of his bed. The football player stretched his arms out as he began to plan on how to get rid of Deena or Davy. "Maybe I should try turning them against each other somehow, but how would I do that exactly?" George wondered as he walked into the hall, only for him to notice that there weren't any interns there, in fact, there were just a bunch of cameras set up everywhere, but still... no interns to be found.
"Well, that's... odd." George cautiously made his way to the cafeteria. George then opened the door to the cafeteria, only to see that there was nobody in there either, just four trays set out on the table for each prisoner. George went over to a random tray and inspected the food, it didn't appear to have anything wrong with it, but after what happened not too long ago with food, George didn't trust Edwards enough to try it... he wanted someone else to eat it first.
Not long after George made his way into the cafeteria, Jade also walked into the room, though, she seemed to be much more tired than usual. Her eyes had serious baggage and she looked like she spent most of the night staying up looking for something.
"Uh... hi?" George greeted the thief, who just nodded and sat down in a chair before beginning to eat her food, "What happened to you?" George asked Jade, who took a second to eat before looking at him and replying.
"I stayed up until... I want to say three in the morning, just to find any evidence of my innocence, but I couldn't find anything... I did see a lot of interns heading out sometime at midnight, but I just took the luck of them being gone instead of questioning where they went..."
"I feel like wasting your energy staying up to look for clues is a bad idea, but who am I to judge I guess?" George shrugged as he still didn't eat his food, he needed to see if there would be any effects from doing so.
Jade dropped her fork into the tray and slammed her head into the table, "It really was a waste of energy... I feel like I'm gonna pass out at any minute." After Jade spoke, she was met with both Davy and Deena coming into the cafeteria, with Davy giving a very serious glare to her.
"Where is everybody?" Deena asked as she looked around the room, "I swear there were a lot of interns here before, but now it feels like there's nobody here at all."
"That would be because they're all gone now!" Salem suddenly teleported in front of the four, "Well, for this challenge anyways, they'll be back after this is done." Salem announced as the four all reacted in varying degrees of surprise to his sudden appearance.
Jade yawned, "Please... don't do that..."
"Yeah, well, I could care less what you humans want me to do, but that's besides what I wanted to tell you," Salem laughed, "Edwards is feeling a little under the weather today, so he told me to give you a quick rundown on what you'll be doing today. But before I get to that, I just want to say, congratulations on making it to the final four, I suppose you all deserve it for your hard work, and you have to be pretty close with each other, ay?" Salem joked, "Anyways, back on subject, today you'll be split up into two different teams and then you'll be teleported into different areas of the prison, where you'll then have to make you way back to each other. Sounds simple, right? Well, it mostly is, but there's a catch of course, one member of the team will play speak no evil, while the other will be see no evil, and to win this challenge, speak no evil will have to get see no evil to acknowledge them being near them by having them say 'I've found my partner!', but if you end up saying this to the member of another team, you'll automatically lose for losing track of your partner, so there are two ways for you to win, either you find each other, or you trick the other team. Any questions?"
"Well, what if we-" George started but was cut off by Salem teleporting them all away.
Salem laughed, "Of course there are none!"
"I'm really sorry about all of this, especially since I normally wouldn't do this... but I have no other choice for your sake." A man spoke to multiple figures in a dark room, "Let me just find the lights first, the man turned on the lights, revealing it to be none other than Lyre, with the figures he was talking to being Romeo, Quinn, Monica, Aztaroth, Relinda, Edna, and Jacque, although, they were all blindfolded, gagged, and handcuffed, barring Aztaroth and Jacque on the handcuff part.
Jacque muffled something through his gag before he ripped his blindfold and gag off to see the detective standing in front of him, the shiesty dude turned around to see all the other prisoners in the room, with Aztaroth also taking off his blindfold and gag. "Oh... shit..." Jacque looked around and immediately thought that he was being brought into another twisted game by Edwards and Chris McLean, "Fuck that noise, I didn't do all that work just to do this again!" Jacque tried to use his powers on Lyre, but since they weren't at Hope's Lament, nothing happened.
"Wait, before you attack me, listen when I say that I'm trying to figure out what happened to you," Lyre presented his badge, "I'm from the MITC agency, we've been trying to investigate the prison Hope's Lament for a while now, we even tried sending a squad of soldiers to ambush whoever's in charge of it, but almost all of them were killed. I am not your enemy!"
Jacque wanted to do something to fight Lyre, but he figured that he may as well hear the man out. Plus if he was going to betray the group, attacking him would probably just get Jacque in more trouble than he thought he was in.
Aztaroth took the gag and blindfold off of Edna, "So why exactly would you take us all to some unknown location? Did you really think you'd be able to fool us with such an obvious bluff or are you just that idiotic?"
"Yeah, what masteroth said!" Edna growled, "Mean man put handcuffs on Edna when she's a free girl!"
Lyre sighed before he began to explain himself, "Look, I wanted to interrogate you all one by one, to try and figure everything out. But I need you to tell me the answers I need to know, we have to work together if we want to stop whoever is in charge of that prison! I only took you here to make sure nobody else could intervene with it, this location is hidden to all but a select few, so this is the safest place you'll be. Besides, even if you killed me right here, the doors to this bunker have locks on them that need to be unlocked in a specific way, so there's no point in doing so."
Aztaroth and Jacque both exchanged looks of suspicion, but both went along with it just to play things safely, "I suppose, I will humor your little 'questioning', but I demand that you remove my friend's bounds, before you do." Aztaroth pointed over at Edna.
"Fine." Lyre went over to Edna and took her handcuffs off, "But everyone else is staying handcuffed, you can remove the gag and blindfolds, but I'm not leaving a bunch of criminals in a position of power against three free people." Lyre got up and took off Romeo's gag and blindfold, "I will start with you, but I warn everyone else here, try to leave this room and I won't hesitate to blow you away if you try to put anyone else in danger." Lyre pushed Romeo into a security room, leaving the rest of the prisoners to sit in silence, fear, and confusion...
George stumbled backward as he felt something tight around his mouth, the boy grabbed at his mouth only to discover that there was now a metal maw placed over it, and there was seemingly no way to remove it. Not that removing it would matter, as doing so would most likely just result in George's disqualification from the challenge, and maybe even his elimination, so the all-star decided that it was best not to touch it. George took a moment to calm himself as he looked around the area he was in... it was one of the four watchtowers surrounding the island.
George looked over the railing to see if he could spot anyone, and he saw none other than Davy walking around the courtyard in confusion before picking up a note to read it, who also had a metal maw on. "Oh crap." George ducked down to avoid being spotted by the rocker, Salem never mentioned they couldn't stop each other, so Davy spotting him and starting a fight was the last thing he wanted. If anyone was going to start any fights, it was going to be George. "At least when I win this challenge, I'll be able to vote Davy off with Jade." George let out a muffled sigh of relief before noticing a small note taped to the other wall of the watchtower.
"What's this?" George grabbed the note and read it, "'Name, George Jackson. Role: Speak-No-Evil. Partner: Deena... Loveberry...'Fuck..." George groaned as he took his note and shoved it into his pocket, "Well shit, gonna have to hope for a tiebreaker win on Jade's end when the time comes." George got up and prepared to aim his tendrils at Davy while his back was turned.
"Gonna have to keep you down Davy... I'd say sorry but you're not someone who deserves it." George grinned from under his metal maw as a tendril began to appear from the palm of his hand, now all he had to do was line up the shot...
Confessional: George
"Mmf mfmfmf mmmf mmf mf ffmfff!" George tried to speak through his maw before putting his head down in annoyance, "Mmf mmfmfm!"
Confessional Over
"Alright, well, let's try to get something out of this meeting, Romeo." Lyre turned on a tape recorder to record their interrogation while Romeo shook nervously, "For starters, do you know anything about the prison you were sent to, Hope's Lament?"
Romeo looked around and shook his head, "No! Nothing at all! I wasn't there to begin with, anyways… I've… been at a different prison the whole time, they said I needed to be transferred or whatever!"
Lyre obviously saw through the lie Romeo was telling, "Ok, but I know you weren't sent to a known prison, because you didn't appear on any records as a new arrival, so why lie about that? There's nobody else here, you can tell me what needs to be said."
"What!? I'm telling the truth! Nothing happened!" Romeo shouted to get Lyre away from questioning him.
"Your leg seems to beg to differ." Lyre pointed out and sighed, "Look, I'm trying to stop whoever did this to you all, but I can't do that unless you play along with me. Just try giving me something, anything, to put me in the right direction."
Romeo shook his head again to avoid answering the question, "No! Just ask somebody else already! I don't know anything about what you're talking about! You're just saying crazy things to try and make me look like I attempted to escape or something!"
"What?" Lyre groaned and turned off the tape recorder, "Fine, you can go. I'll just ask Quinn next, she seems to be a lot more willing to talk than you are." Romeo got up as Lyre grabbed his arm, "But… if you do have any information to give… tell me it ASAP."
Romeo just ignored Lyre as he got up and ran out of the room to 'safety', clearly, he was the least interested in revealing the secrets of Hope's Lament, and Lyre would have to search further to figure out the truth.
Lyre groaned and wrote in a notebook, "Romeo seems to exhibit signs of being paranoid of everything, given his broken leg I can only imagine his captors did that to him as a warning… but why is he so paranoid he refuses to tell me anything in pure privacy? Does he think his former captors are somehow listening even when that's not possible?" Lyre tapped his pencil on the page, "I'll try again later… but it seems he's too afraid to break silence…"
Jade groaned as she dizzily got up, only to see… well… nothing, as her eyes were covered by a metal mask, which prevented her from seeing anything. Jade tried to feel around the room when she heard the noise of someone else moving around, "Who's there!?" Jade shouted as the person sounded like they were struggling with their own mask.
"It's me, Deena!" The delinquent responded as she tried to get a good sense of the room, "Fuck, this thing won't budge… no cheating in this challenge I suppose…"
Suddenly, Edwards' voice came in on a small cassette tape in the room, "Hello Deena and Jade, you have been given the role of 'see no evil' for this challenge, and as such, you will be blindfolded until your teammates can rescue you from the mask you wear on your face. Deena, you're paired with George while Jade is paired with Davy, your job is to find your way through the prison and hope that George and Davy can catch up with you… of course, they've been muted so you'll have to find a way to communicate with them first. Good luck…" The cassette ended, leaving the two to fend for themselves.
"Oh great," Deena complained about her situation, "Gotta have that loser as my partner, at least I won't have to hear him speak for the challenge." Deena pointed out before getting up and walking away from Jade, not even bothering to speak to her before she turned around, "Well, it's everyone for themselves Jade, good luck making it out of here."
"Son of a…" Jade groaned as she cautiously walked around and managed to find the exit Deena found, "Ok… that's a pretty good start, but I also need to find a way to get to Davy… DAVY! ARE YOU THERE?" Jade yelled out to get an answer, but was left with no response, "Of course it wouldn't be that easy… why would it?" Jade mumbled as she carefully walked through the halls to try and see the layout of the room she was in.
Jade felt her leg brush against the wall in the room, "Ok… this is a wall… so if I walk that way… I should be able to get a sense of how big this room is…" Jade paced in the opposite direction of the wall, taking a short while to reach the end of it, "It's long, but not cafeteria long… is this the basement? I guess that makes sense… but has Deena found her way upstairs or is she in the other room?" Jade listened to see if she could hear Deena's footsteps, and she could hear them in what she assumed was the mail room, "So if she's there… that means we came from the morgue… and the stairs should be…" Jade walked over to a different direction and found the stairs, "Right here…"
Jade walked up the stairs and now felt herself in the main hall, "DAVY? ARE YOU HERE?" Jade called out but still got no response, "Still nothing… maybe he's upstairs, it would make sense to put him far away from me as opposed to nearby…" Jade began to look around for the staircase to the second floor, "Hopefully I can find him before Deena makes her way upstairs… I still have a advantage over her at the moment…"
"Ok, Quinn," Lyre set up the tape recorder again and grabbed his notebook, "Hopefully, you'll be more of a talker than Romeo is… let's start small, what do you know about the prison you were taken to, Hope's Lament?"
"Hope's Lament? Well, I wasn't there for that long but…." Quinn sat back and grinned, "There was a lot of things that happened there, there was a big demon guy who was super scary, we all got superpowers, oh-oh, and that one reality show host Chris McLean was making us film a new season of his show Total Drama, he called it Total Drama Unlawful or something like that." Quinn shrugged before sighing, "I had to leave behind my previous ships when I got eliminated, sadly… and I can't make them happen by force anymore! That's so unfair!" Quinn pouted and tried to cross her arms.
"I…" Lyre blinked twice before clearing his throat, "Can you say something actually coherent? This isn't some fairy tail with demons and superpowers, this is real life." Lyre pinched the bridge of his nose out of annoyance.
Quinn shook her head repeatedly, "Nyooo! I am telling the truth! We got powers while on the island and I could control fire! I remember choking Davy out with it two, that was… something." Quinn rubbed her arms.
Lyre facepalmed and let out a small groan of annoyance, "Ok, let's go back to the reality show being filmed there, how about that? Chris McLean was discovered on that island recently, and he was found dead with a throat wound. Do you know anything relating to that? Was he forced to make the show or something?"
"Chris is dead!?" Quinn shouted in surprise before crying, "Nyooo! My ship between him and Chef can never come to fruition!" Quinn slammed her head on the table, "Why is the world so cruel!?"
Lyre sat in silence before going back to the interview, "Let's please move back to the topic at hand, did Chris seem like he was being forced into participating in the game, or anything like that?"
Quinn got up and tried to rub her face, "Nyo, Chris was a big ol' meanie who forced us to fight for the first episode of the show! All for his enjoyment or whatever! I ended up getting metal stuck to me and getting stabbed by a machete because of it!"
"What!?" Lyre got up in concern only for Quinn to laugh at him.
"Relax! Salem healed me and I'm back to perfect condition!" Quinn brushed off Lyre's concerns.
Lyre raised an eyebrow, "Who's Salem?"
"The demon I was telling you about earlier! He was just as mean as Chris was too!" Quinn answered as Lyre groaned and turned off the recorder.
Lyre rubbed his face and got up, "This interview is over, you clearly are more interested in playing games rather than taking this seriously." Lyre pressed an intercom to speak to the former prisoners of Hope's Lament, "Monica, you can come in now."
"Hey!" Quinn snapped out, "I am telling the truth! It just sounds super unbelievable!"
"Just leave," Lyre ordered as Quinn scoffed and left the room. Lyre then turned to his notebook and began writing in it, "Quinn is clearly too much of a prankster to take this seriously, that or she likes to play two truths and a lie a lot, hopefully Monica can give me something to go off of… I just need something…"
Confessional: George
"Mmph mmmph mmmph! Mmvy mmvr mmv mm mmving!" George spoke through his gag, though he was still inaudible.
Confessional Over
George fired his tendrils off at Davy while the rocker wasn't looking. The tendrils soared through the air and caught themselves onto their target just as he began to turn around. Davy grabbed the tendril and looked up to see George staring down at him from the watchtower, of course, Davy tried to use his power to fight back, but obviously, that wasn't an option due to the gag that was covering his mouth, "Mmphimg mmshmt!" Davy tried to yell through the gag as George threw him into the wall of the prison.
"Hmmm!" George cockily mumbled as he used his power to make a rope that he could climb down the watchtower with. George watched as Davy pulled himself up and immediately shot another tendril at Davy, "Mph!" George pulled Davy forward and covered his fist with tendrils before punching Davy straight in the face, something that sent him flying back into the wall.
Davy struggled to get up as he tried to think of a counter to George without using his powers, while he was thinking of something to do, George attached a tendril to the watchtower closest to Davy and used it to swing himself forward before he tried to kick Davy.
Davy managed to roll out of the way of George's attack, which worked in his favor as George slammed into the wall and fell onto the ground, "Mmhp mf mmm MMTMH!" George let out in pain as Davy rushed him while he was distracted. The rocker punched George in the face multiple times while making sure he couldn't counter with his power.
"Yeah take that you bloody bastard!" Davy had a grin under his gag as he punched George in the face, but his joy was short-lived as George responded by kicking Davy straight in the crotch, causing Davy to recoil in extreme pain. George lifted himself up and wrapped his hand in tendrils before smacking Davy across the yard of the prison. A small chuckling noise came from George as he pulled his foe forward, getting ready to knock him out.
Davy struggled with George as the quarterback prepared to hit him again with his power but was unable to free himself, getting a nice smack in the face for his trouble. Davy then got an idea as George prepared to hit him again, the rocker managed to free his arm and grabbed one of George's arms before holding it against his maw. Davy then used his fire breath to heat up the gag, causing George to severely burn his hand.
"MMPH!" George pulled his hand away and gripped it as Davy got up and headbutted him to the ground, the rocker then wasted no time with his advantage by stomping on George over and over until the football player was temporarily knocked out. Davy had the biggest grin on under his gag as he walked away from his defeated opponent, fully ready to find Jade to win this challenge.
"Monica... please go along with this or say something sensical..." Lyre rubbed his temple as Monica took a seat in the interview room, "I cannot deal with any more moronic interviews right now."
"I don't really have much information to give." Monica shrugged, "All I can say is that we were on this reality show called 'Total Drama Unlawful' and that whoever was eliminated got sent back to prison." Unlike Quinn, Monica left out the information about superpowers and demons, knowing full well that Lyre wouldn't take her seriously, "It was pretty torturous, but no different than what the other seasons of the show were like, the only thing I think wasn't up to code there was having prisoners as contestants, but we had two... mostly corrupt... cops take us from our prisons to the island, so I assume it was covered first."
Lyre raised an eyebrow, "No... that... wasn't. Please, tell me more about the two guards who abducted you from the prison, do you remember their names or anything like that?"
"I remember they knocked me out while taking me to the island, and... I think one of them was named Jacob. They seemed to be legitimate guards though, they had clearance to take us, so I assume they were just corrupt guards of some sort." Monica answered, "I don't really have much else to say about the prison, my apologies for that."
Lyre sighed and looked at the ground, "Well, you at least gave me something to work with, so thanks for that I suppose." Lyre took out his notebook and wrote down what Monica gave him, "Is there anything else you could tell me? Anything at all?"
Monica shook her head, "I'm sorry, but that's really all I've got... you'd probably have better luck with some of the others, maybe with Relinda, she was very open when I talked to her at the prison!"
"Aztaroth you can come in now." Lyre called in Aztaroth as he wrote down Relinda's name under a list of 'Good Witnesses', "If you remember anything else, please tell me. Please, even the smallest things can help us discover the truth to your kidnapping."
Monica nodded as she left the room, "I know keeping the powers a secret is a bad idea but... he'll never believe us anyways..."
"Goddammit!" Deena moved around aimlessly through the main hallway in an attempt to find George, "George! Where the hell are you?" Deena kicked open the door to the cafeteria, though she didn't know it of course. Deena just ran through the cafeteria, running into tables and chairs while trying to find her partner, not that she really cared about the damage she was doing to the room, the only thing on her mind was winning the challenge so she could move onto the final three.
While Deena was trying to find George, Davy walked into the room, searching for Jade, only to see his friend's path of destruction. The rocker took one look at the room before silently leaving as to not give her any advantage in the challenge. The rocker then silently went down to the basement while Deena continued her search for George.
"Fuck, I guess he really isn't in here... maybe he went outside." Deena figured as she turned around and went back to where she thought the entrance was, only to realize that she hadn't kept track of the room's layout. "Aw... goddammit..." Deena groaned as she pressed herself against the wall in order to find the exit, "George better get his ass in here soon, I'm not gonna blindly walk through every room just to find his sorry ass." Deena grumbled as the camera cut over to George, who was still unconscious from his beatdown.
The camera cut back to Deena, who finally found her way out of the cafeteria. The delinquent took a deep breath and began to think of where to go as she realized where the door to the courtyard was, Deena turned to where the door was and managed to get outside, putting her closer to George while Davy and Jade were also close to each other.
"Ok, Matthew Matthews, otherwise known as Aztaroth, what information can you give me about this?" Lyre clicked a pen as Aztaroth sat down and grinned, "Anything at all?"
Aztaroth shook his head in response, "I've simply no idea about what you're talking about. I've been home this whole time, and I happened to prove the innocence of Edna while I was home. There was no kidnapping or whatever you're referring to." Aztartoth denied everything, causing Lyre to face palm.
Lyre shook his head and wrote down how Aztaroth was denying his involvement in the season, "Ok, so how exactly did you meet her? A man as high class and cocky as you most certainly wouldn't waste your time with someone like her-"
"Someone like her?" Aztaroth shook his head while dropping his grin, "I should have you know that she is a dear friend to the Matthews family and I won't tolerate any disrespect towards her. If I were you, I would consider keeping your mouth shut when referring to her."
"Right..." Lyre rolled his eyes at the threat and flipped through his notebook, "Like I was saying, please give me something to work with, I know for a fact you were taken to this prison along with the others, so you can't exactly deny it. If you're afraid of someone coming to find you, I can assure you that nobody knows about us here, except for a few very high-ups at the agency, so there's no danger in confessing what you know."
Aztaroth tapped his finger on his forehead, "Ah, but I don't know anything, do I? All I know is that I would like to go back home now as your pointless interview is nothing but a waste of my time, and is a huge inconvenience to me, so please do get out of my sight."
Lyre groaned in annoyance and wrote down 'Not Helpful' for Aztaroth's page in the notebook, "Looks like I'm not gonna find anything if I keep pressing you, huh? Fine, I'm sure Edna will talk and will give me more info about you." Lyre noted as he began to call in Relinda.
"And I'm sure you'll believe what she says to a T." Aztaroth rolled his eyes in response and left the room, not even bothering to help with the investigation.
"No luck so far..." Jade mumbled as she blindly made her way through the chapel, "Maybe he's not up here and is on the ground floor instead, there's not many places for him to hide up here." Jade walked back downstairs and moved away from the staircase, distancing herself from Davy unintentionally. "He's gotta be around here somewhere... just gotta find where..."
Jade walked through the main hallway and found her way into the rec center, where she then tried to search around for Davy. "Davy!? Are you in here?" Jade called out and listened for footsteps but heard nothing, "Come on he's gotta be here somewhere!" Jade ran over to the gym and called out for him, still finding nothing.
Jade groaned and headed out of the room before snapping her fingers, "Maybe he's outside! That's pretty far from the basement so it'd make sense for him to be stuck out there!" Jade made her way to the door and opened it before rushing outside.
"Davy!? Are you out here!?" Jade ran out onto the field in hopes of finding her partner as Davy was still looking through the basement.
"Please give me something..." Lyre pessimistically asked of Relinda as the waitress began to sit down, "Any little bit of information would be-"
"Chris somehow managed to not only summon a demon named Salem but also gave us these sort of superpowers that we used for multiple different challenges. I could use the force basically, Jacque could do the same, Aztaroth could be super strong whenever he's mad, Edna could make claws, Monica could turn invisible, Romeo was super strong, and Quinn could control fire. There's a few prisoners who aren't here as well, Picollo, Clover, Rival, Deena, Davy, George, and Jade. Picollo actually managed to escape from the prison and I don't know what happened to him, and I got sent back to jail before I could see what happened to the rest of them. But that's not all that happened, Chris would hide behind Salem to scare all of us into submission since he knew none of us could fight back, but even worse was that there was this one intern who was horribly disfigured because of the powers everyone had, and Chris had us track him down and kill him instead of using Salem to heal him. After that, he made us carry his ashes around in a box for his sick amusement." Relinda kept a straight face as she revealed everything, "He's a horrible man who did everything to torment us... he made us fight each other for the first challenge, no less."
Lyre stayed silent at the reveal before beginning to speak, "I... what? Another person talking about demons?" Lyre wrote down something in his notepad before rubbing his temple, "That can't actually be the case right? Demons and supernatural things aren't real, that... that makes no sense."
Relinda shook her head, "They are! I know you might not believe me, but that's how Chris kept us all in check, besides, I kept this on me before I left the prison..." Relinda motioned over to her jumpsuit's pocket to reveal a hidden compartment that contained the box from the challenge she was eliminated in. Lyre took the box and opened it, revealing the ashes inside, "I originally planned on giving this to the police after I got released, but this works too... this is the ashes of that intern Chris had killed."
"That's..." Lyre looked at the ashes and confirmed that they were most likely real, "There's no way... that can't be true... I..." Lyre pressed the intercom, "Edna, please prepare yourself for interrogation!" Lyre took his finger off the intercom and rubbed his face, "I need to think this over... two people claiming the same supernatural story... once is crazy talk and twice is a coincidence... but it feels too specific..."
Relinda nodded and got up, "Oh, but please tell me if you know... what happened to Jade and Rival? Are they still stuck in captivity or did they manage to escape too?"
"I'm sorry, but I can't share any information on the two..." Lyre replied as Relinda sadly nodded and left the room. The detective stayed by himself and fixed his hair, "The supernatural is real... that... that can't be true..."
Confessional: Davy
"Mmmph mph mde?" Davy stuck his head through the confessional door to see if Jade was in there, only to sigh as he found nobody there, "Mph..."
Confessional Over
"Where is she?" Davy headed up the basement stairs after checking through every room that was down there, "Davy kinda owes Jade an apology if what those angel guys told him are true as well, so he'd like to get that out of the way already." Davy ran into the cafeteria to see if maybe Jade went in there after Deena, but found nobody there, "Damn. Davy's gotta end this quickly before George can win this, that fucker tried to attack him earlier and needs to pay for that!" Davy cracked his knuckles at the thought of getting revenge on George for his previous attack, "Especially with his kick to Davy... Davy's gonna kick George back tenfold for that!"
Davy kicked open the door to the rec center and groaned, still finding no sign of Jade there, "Come on already! Where could she have gone? There's no way she found her way upstairs or even... outside..." Davy's eyes widened as he realized the possibility of Jade wandering outside, which wouldn't normally be a problem except for the fact that George had to get up eventually, and he'd easily be able to trick Jade into calling him her partner.
"Goddammit! Davy shouldn't have left that little pipsqueak outside! Now he's gonna get Jade to lose the challenge because of that!" Davy slid out of the rec room and kicked open the door to the prison yard, wasting no time trying to find his partner. The rocker ran around the prison building to get to the area of the yard he and George were fighting in... he just had to move a little bit quicker and he'd be able to make it in time...
"Ok, I need to see something." Lyre turned on the cassette and began writing something down in his notebook, "What can you tell me about Salem?" Lyre asked Edna, wanting to see if another contestant could give him information about the possible supernatural side of the prison, "Please, tell me everything you can think of!"
Edna laughed and chewed on her fingers, "Oh... he's a rude red man who Edna doesn't like at all!" Edna crossed her arms and pouted, "He always would prevent Edna from having fun trying to break out of the prison by locking her up in a secret padded cell! Which was unfair! Edna no deserve that!" Edna sighed while showing Lyre her hand, "Edna can't even make her claws anymore! This is so dumb!"
"Claws match with what Relinda said." Lyre wrote down the information Edna gave him and looked back at her, "Anything else happen there? Anything out of the ordinary?" Lyre asked, wanting to see just how well each story matched up with the others.
Edna giggled and tapped her finger on her cheek, "Nope, everything was perfectly fun and exciting for Edna! Like one time she got to rip through a bunch of monster thingies all on her own! No help from masteroth needed!" Edna laughed at her memory of clawing through crowds of demons.
Lyre clicked his pen and thought of something, "Say, I've heard the others all got powers like you did... could you tell me what Jacque's was?"
"Jacque? He's the floaty man!" Edna happily replied, "He makes things float with his mind or something like that!"
"I see." Lyre wrote down Edna's claim about Jacque before looking back at her, "And what about Romeo?"
Edna snapped her fingers a few times and scratched at her head, "Err... Edna doesn't remember him much... uh... Edna thinks he was super strong or something like that! Like a knockoff of masteroth! Yeah, that's it!" Edna clapped her hands, "Any other questions for Edna?"
Lyre closed his notebook and got up, "No, this will suffice for now." Lyre watched as Edna left the room, leaving him to be alone with his thoughts, "Once is crazy talk, twice is a coincidence... three is a pattern... what the hell is that place?"
George shook his hand and pulled himself up while clutching a newly-obtained black eye, courtesy of Davy's stomping earlier, "Fuck Davy... you could've stopped at the first stomp I got... asshole..." George pulled himself up and saw both Deena and Jade a good distance away from him, "MMPH MPIT!" George ignored his wounds and began running towards Deena while getting ready to use his tendrils to swing toward her.
George wasn't alone, however, as Davy also spotted the two and was currently running after them, making this now a race for the two gagged prisoners to reach their partner before the other could.
"George, are you out here?" Deena called out while trying to listen for footsteps.
"No, Davy are you out here?" Jade called out hoping that Davy was close.
"Mmmph!" George used his tendrils to send himself flying toward the two.
Davy ran as fast as he could in order to reach his partner before George could, "Mmmph mmph!" Davy sprinted while he and George both got closer and closer to their partner.
Eventually, one of the two was able to make it back to their partner, and they immediately signaled their arrival by repeatedly tapping their partner on the shoulder to get their attention. The blinded partner took a moment to think it over before suddenly shouting out, "I've found my partner!"
Salem teleported in front of the pair to announce that the winners of the challenge were none other than...

..."Congratulations George and Deena, you've completed the challenge." Salem grinned and clapped for the two before snapping his fingers, causing the gags and masks to be removed from the four prisoners, "Davy and Jade, better start praying for your safety, as you'll have to meet Edwards in the cafeteria after George and Deena vote... toodles!" Salem waved as he teleported away.
"Looks like you're good for something after all." Deena joked as George just rolled his eyes in response, "Well... let's get to voting already, I don't wanna think about this one for too long." Deena walked away from the three.
George looked at the ground and took a deep breath, "Alright Jade, I've got faith that you won't fuck this up, and we'll be able to move onto the final three together..." George went away silently.
After the two had left, Davy turned to face Jade and rubbed the back of his head, "Err, Jade, Davy's gotta say something to-"
Jade immediately cut Davy off by running off, "Sorry, Davy, but I've got something more important to do than to waste time listening to you mock me for stabbing Rival."
Confessional: Jade
"This can't fix everything... but I can at least prove that I'm not trying to throw others under the bus at any cost..." Jade crossed her arms and sighed.
Confessional Over
Confessional: Davy
"Ooph, Davy feels kinda bad about being such a prick to Jade but..." Davy shrugged, "He guesses it's better her than him, innocent or not."
Confessional Over
Lyre turned on the cassette for the final interview, "Alright, let's make this brief, tell me everything you know about the prison. Every little detail. Believable or not." Lyre ordered Jacque, "I need to scrape together whatever I can for our investigation."
Jacque tilted his head at the question and shrugged, "Ion know what you're talking about, I never went to jail, I've been home this whole time."
"Don't tell me you're also doing the whole 'denial' schtick." Lyre grabbed the bridge of his nose, "I already know there was a reality show being filmed there, with prisoners and innocent people, so you can't gaslight me into believing that you were never there, besides, a few others have already told me about you being there."
Jacque sat back in his seat and kept a blank expression, "Hey, believe whatever fake gossip or chit chat you want from the others, but I know for certain that I was never at a prison... well, being here is like its own prison so never mind."
"So what was that about you not wanting to go through all this again?" Lyre noted Jacque's words from earlier, "You seemed to be pretty stressed out, almost like the whole reality show was a coverup for something more sinister?"
"That..." Jacque thought up a lie, "Was just me thinking of something similar that happened to me before, I've been on the bad end of some deals before and have barely been able to get out unscathed, so you can't blame a man for making assumptions." Jacque claimed with a calm look on his face, "Of course it's all real dumbass, but I'll be damned if I put myself on Salem's bad side." Jacque thought while Lyre turned off the cassette.
Lyre groaned, "Fine, the evidence I have should do just fine, you can wait with the others while I make a phone call, I gotta have someone watch over you to make sure nothing happens."
Jacque shook his head and laughed, "Nothing is gonna happen because there's nothing going on." Jacque walked off while thinking about waiting in the bunker for a while, "Fuck! This idiot is gonna make us all sitting ducks!" Jacque panicked as he headed off to the others, leaving Lyre to write down notes.
"If... demons are real... and one is helping run the show... what will bombing the prison do other than anger them?" Lyre fixed his hair as he checked his phone to see he had a few missed voicemails, "Shit." Lyre pressed the most recent voicemail to see what was up.
"Detective Lyre, we found another one of the missing prisoners! Clover Warrington was somehow returned to her asylum the other day!" A detective's voice told Lyre as he packed all of his evidence and notes, "Please head back as soon as possible, the bomb's gonna be dropped soon and we'd like to see if you found anything before then!"
Lyre gathered all of his notes in a briefcase and pulled out his phone before calling someone, the detective waited anxiously for them to respond, hoping they would pick up this case once again, "Hello?" A voice replied on the phone.
Lyre took a deep breath, "Ryo? I think I've discovered what we're up against... and you won't believe me when I tell you..."
The four prisoners sat at the elimination table in the cafeteria, with Davy confident in his safety while Jade just looked down at the floor in silence. Deena had a look of uncertainty about who she voted for while George looked genuinely nervous for once. Edwards walked into the cafeteria with a grin on his face as he held a clipboard with the votes, "Hello there prisoners, I've gotta say, this result is interesting in a sense, didn't expect this outcome." Edwards shrugged as he began to call safety, "Obviously, George and Deena, you two are safe, leaving one more safety between Jade and Davy..."
The words of safety flew past George, he was too busy hoping that by some miracle Jade would stay safe and Davy would get eliminated, or that she'd be able to win the tie-breaker between the two.
Deena, on the other hand, still had that look of uncertainty, but she didn't seem to be nervous like George was.
"Well then, you two know how it is, only one of you can continue forward, while the other will go back to jail." Edwards announced to the remaining duo, with Davy still looking completely confident in his safety and Jade finally beginning to look up at Edwards, "And that person is none other than...

"Jade, my sincerest apologies, but you've been eliminated," Edwards announced, causing George's eyes to widen.
George got up from his seat, "Wait what!? I didn't vote for her, I voted for Davy! It should be a tie!" George completely ignored that he revealed that to Davy and Deena, not that he cared, he knew they'd target him next challenge either way, "This is bullshit!"
Edwards shook his head, "Apologies for the outcome you wanted George, but Jade asked me if she could quit the show, and who am I to deny her of that request?"
George's heart dropped at the news before he turned to Jade in pure rage, "You fucking moron! You screwed us both over! This is what I get for believing your story about not stabbing Rival, it was all a fucking line of bullshit that you could use to get rid of me!" George ignored the hypocrisy of him getting mad at someone for screwing someone else over when yelling at Jade.
"Can I say something before I go home?" Jade asked Edwards, who nodded in response. Jade turned to the other three prisoners with all of them looking at her for an answer, "I wanted to prove my innocence to you... I really did. But the moment I lost the challenge I knew there was no point in sticking around anymore, if I ended up getting Davy out my stay here would be even worse than it's already been, besides George, I'm just following what you said back in the contraband challenge. If it means giving up my reputation as a good person and going back to jail to save someone else, then so be it, I'll make the sacrifice." Jade confessed to her quitting before looking at Davy and Deena, "But I request that you two at least consider the possibility that the video was faked and I was framed, I don't have any proof of it other than my word, but I know there has to have been some way of faking it, whether it was an intern with the same powers as Picollo, edited footage, or something else that I didn't even think about, there's some form of foul play at hand here."
Deena gave a pretty guilty look at Jade before looking away from her.
Davy also seemed pretty guilty, especially since he knew of Jade's innocence thanks to the angels, but he also seemed grateful to still be around.
Jade put her head down as Salem teleported behind her, "I'm sorry Rival. I couldn't end all of this for you..." Jade let out as Salem teleported her back to prison, leaving the rest of the prisoners in silence.
George clenched his fist in pure rage as tears of anger formed in his eyes, it was over. He now had no more tricks, no more gimmicks, no more lies to get him on other people's side, he was doomed to fail the next challenge unless he won, but there was no way that was gonna happen with both Davy and Deena against him. George shook as he sprinted out of the cafeteria, he needed to think of something to save himself, he's always done this before, after all, but everything was drawing blank, there was no escaping his fate in the next ceremony. George ran straight to his cell only to stop dead in his tracks when he saw two items laying on his bed...
The three angels stayed at the top of Hope's Lament in silence as they witnessed Jade's loss. Bernadette was the only one to break the silence, with five very simple but important words, "That wasn't supposed to happen..."
Another cliffhanger ending for you guys, for the final three no less. It's pretty exciting to see the main plotlines all coming to a close, especially the detective subplot as they figure out more information for their plans. It's also very exciting to see that now there's only three people left, and it's really a 2v1. But will George be able to clutch himself a last-minute victory, or will he fall short to Davy and Deena's power duo? We'll have to find out next episode won't we?
Reasoning For Elimination: Jade's elimination actually changed last minute, she was always planned to go at fourth place, but the small speech she gives wasn't originally in the plot outline I have. As for Jade being eliminated herself, she was the last of the good guys, and being a good person isn't gonna save you at Hope's Lament, especially with the focus of optimism not working out here, now the only people remaining are the leaning-evil George and the two neutral characters Davy and Deena.
Remaining Prisoners: Davy, Deena, George
Votes: [INVALID]
Davy: George
Jade: Deena
Voting Confessionals:
"I'm sorry Jade, there's a chance you're innocent... but I could never pick you over Davy." Deena proceeded to vote for Jade.
"Come on Jade... please win this for my sake..." George prayed in the confessional for Jade's victory.
