Lyre burst through the door to the main office of the MITC agency while pulling out the notes and casettes from his interviews, "I'm not late, am I?" Lyre dumped everything on the table while Truthteller was spinning around in a swivel chair with a grin on his face, "This discovery is going to sound crazy but-"
"It's completely crazy." Truthteller cut Lyre off while shaking his head and stopping his chair, "Ryo already told me what you rambled to him, and, seriously? We're just taking the words of the delusional now?"
"I know, it sounded crazy to me at first," Lyre groaned as he pulled up a chair and sat down, "But I think we should really consider the idea that something supernatural is afoot with that prison, think about it, the three prisoners who made that claim all used the same claims about this... demon guy who helped run the show. Plus, it could help explain what happened with Hawkeye, if a demon is keeping things in check, than that would explain why he suddenly started shooting everyone."
Truthteller tapped his finger on the table, "Alright, but what do you want us to do exactly if the ramblings of two crazy people and one normal person turn out to be true? If there actually is a 'demon' controlling things over there, what the hell else do you want us to do? Bombing the prison would be our safest bet!"
"Our safest bet!?" Lyre was taken aback by the idea, "How in the world is enraging something we have no chance of understanding gonna help us?"
"Because it's threats are empty." Truthteller replied while pressing his hands together, "Remember how we were threatened with death if we 'tried anything like that again'? Wouldn't this demon just kill us now to not have to deal with us later? Why let us poke around more, surely he knows someone would be curious enough. Also curiously, how is it that the only deaths that have happened have been people close to the prison... well everyone except for you and Jackson during your little drone heist, it feels like this demon is bound to the prison or something of that regard..." Truthteller noted, "Also, did any of the prisoners confirm a demon took them from their cells?"
Lyre looked down at his interview cassettes and sighed, "Monica said two officers took her, and that one is named Jacob."
"Hmm, two officers, huh?" Truthteller noted, "If this demon is as powerful as we think, why doesn't he just take the prisoners by himself? Why enlist the help of others? Why bother trying to cover it up as a reality show? Why doesn't he just teleport here and kill all of us right now?"
Lyre thought about it for a moment, "That is odd... what's stopping him from doing that?"
"It looks like our 'all-powerful' foe is weaker than we thought." Truthteller laughed as he looked out the window of the office, "We might not be able to kill him by destroying the prison, and maybe we're wrong and it'll get us all killed... but damn we're gonna try..." Truthteller grinned while looking outside.
Lyre sighed as he gathered up his notes, "Great... let's just take a huge risk without knowing all the details... just like you always do." Lyre stormed out of the office to look for a detective who had some common sense on the matter.
"You know me too well Lyre..." Truthteller lit a cigarette as he looked down at his watch, revealing a countdown to the planned bombing, an event that was only a few days away...
