The gang was walking through the forest to Pinsir forest, as the pathway was thick with bramble.
"It will be slow going. The underbrush here is pretty thick," Woodruff said.
"I can fix that. Are you ready, Bulbsuar?" Ash asked, looking at Bulbsuar standing next to him.
"What exactly are you planning?" Jessie asked, looking at Bulbsuar.
"You see. Bulbasaur! Razor Leaf now!" Ash commanded.
Bulbasaur then used his attack to cut through the underbrush bramble perfectly as the pathway we more apparent.
'I see that was his plan. Got to admit, for a tewrp, he is actually pretty clever at times. He may not be enemies anymore, but it doesn't make him less of a twerp. Who knows, that might change as I travel with them.' Jessie thought, looking at Ash, impressed slightly.
"Haha, see Woodruff? We're helping already," Ash said, laughing with a smile.
Shelly then peeks from Jessie's arms and looks around, sensing a presence nearby. Looking around, she saw something, causing her eyes to widen in surprise. She then lets out a cry gaining everyone's attention.
"Shelly!?" Jessie gasped in surprise.
"What is it?" Misty asked, confused.
Shelly continue to let out a cry pointing behind them. Everyone then turned around, seeing Heracross behind them. It was looking startled by the sudden cry as well.
"Heracross," Ash said.
"Shelly, no need for an alarm; I thought something we seriously wrong," Jessie said, rubbing Shelly's head."Through why is it following us?"She asked curiously.
"I bet Heracross wants me to be its protector," Ash commented.
Jessie and Shelly shook their heads at Ash's comment.
"And I bet Heracross wants to be a nectar protector," Misty said.
Bulbasaur was surprised and ran towards Hearacross as it launched Razor Leaf towards it trying to defend itself from what it was about to do, but the attack missed.
"Squirtle!" Shelly cried out in surprise at Bulbsuar's attack.
"That was a bit rude," Jessie said.
However, Ash and the others were already leaving as Jessie and Shelly looked at Heracross, seeing that it was okay, as she soon ran, following the others. Shelly took another look at Heracross feeling bad for it.
The four trainers and their Pokemon and Woodruff soon passed the thickest part of the forest as Jessie returned Shelly to her Pokeball.
"The oath should be clear now. We're through the thickest part of the woods," Woodruff said.
"Great. Take a rest, Bulbasuar," Ash said as he returned Bulbasuar back to the Pokeball."Good job."
After a bit, everyone soon reached the canyon, which had a river way down below. As your trainers and Pikachu, we're in awe of the long drop.
"Wow, look at how deep that canyon is..." Misty said.
"Yes, it is quite a drop. The Pinsir forest is on the other side of the river," Woodruff told the four trainers.
"Doe we have to climb all the way down and back up to get there?" Ash asked with curiosity in his voice.
"No, lucky for us, There's an old rope bridge a little further upriver," Woodruff replied.
The gang arrived at the old rope bridge, which was completely destroyed.
"Oh no! I was here a week ago, and the bridge was fine," Woodruff said.
"Maybe it wore out, and the ropes finally broke," Ash commented.
"I don't believe that is the case, Ash. The bridge doesn't even seem that old," Jessie stated.
Misty then turned her head as she noticed something.
"Hey, look over there," Misty said.
Everyone looked down to the canyon noticing the Pinsir hopping from trees down below to the other side of the canyon to their side.
"The Pinsir have their own way across," Misty said.
"I figured that something was going on. Whatever seems to be drawing them away from their side of the forest caused them to find another way over here," Jessie said.
"And from the looks of these ropes, it clears the Pinsir didn't break the bridge," Woodruff said, examining the ropes."A human did this," He said.
"Who would do such a thing?" Misty asked.
"It was clearly someone who doesn't want anyone snooping around the Pinsir's forest," Jessie replied.
"Well, they're not going to stop us! We're going to that Pinsir Forest no matter what!" Ash exclaimed.
"But how do we get there?" Brock questioned.
"Yeah, How? It's a long way down..." Misty said.
"There just got to be a way across," Ash said.
"Ah, huh!" Jessie exclaimed.
Everyone turned to Jessie, who was looking at a Pokeball in her hand."Come on out!" she said, sending out Lickitug.
"A Lickitung?" Misty questioned at the sight of Lickitug, who was trying to lick Jessie's face.
"Don't do that," Jessie muttered in slight annoyance."I need your assistance," She said.
A couple of minutes later, Lickitug had managed to push a log with all her might across the other side of the canyon as a bridge. Everyone managed to cross it to the other side.
"Great thinking Jessica," Brock commented.
"Thanks. We should keep going," She said with a faint smile.
Everyone nodded at that while Misty glanced at Jessie curiously.
Everyone was now walking through the Pinsir's forest as the four trainers and their Pokémon noticed Heracross still following them.
"Hey, Hearacross is still following us," Ash said, looking back to see Hearacross following them.
"It's probably thought the four of us are saps," Misty said.
"Get ready, you four," Woodruff said.
Everyone turns to Woodruff in confusion.
"We have to stay alert. We're almost at the Pinsir's forest now," Woodruff stated.
"Oh, Great," Ash said.
"Oh, that's great...Lots more big Pokemon," Misty complained.
Lickitug looked at Misty shaking her head at the complaint.
"Lickitug, would you like to go back inside your Pokeball?" Jessie asked.
Lickitug shook her head no in response before she turned to see Hearacross still following them and tilted her head in confusion.
After walking a bit more, everyone stopped as they noticed a big tree in the distance.
"Up there. The tallest tree. That's where the Pinsir lives," Woodruff said.

Everyone then soon arrived at the Pinsir's tree as they were behind some bushes, and they soon noticed a giant Pinsir in the shadows atop the tree.
"Hey, look up near the top! It's a giant Pinsir!" Ash exclaimed.
"Wow. I didn't know Pinsir got that big," Misty said.
"They don't. But that is not a Pinsir. It's some kind of robot that looks like one. It's huge, and it looks like it was built out of steel," Woodruff said.
"It's a monster!" Ash shouted.
"Not a monster, a robot," Jessie commented.
"Who'd build something that creepy?" Misty asked.
Then suddenly, laughter was heard.
"I advise you to prepare for trouble."
"While you are at it, make it double."
"We'll taint the world with devastation."
"And influence all people within our nation."
"To eliminate the goodness of truth and love."
"To extend our wrath to who stars above.
"Sapphire!"
"Emerald!"
"Team Rocket circles the galaxy day and night."
"Surrender you us now because you're sure to lose the fight."
"Jigglypuff!"
The duo of Sapphire and Emerald were now in front of the tree with the robot Pinsir.
"Well, here's the answer to your creepy question," Ash said.
"Creepy? That isn't nice," A mysterious voice said.
Everyone turned around to see a young man with spiky white hair and purple eyes come from behind the tree. He was wearing a black jacket over a grey shirt and matching black pants and red tennis shoes.
"Who are you?" Woodruff asked.
"I'm Moonsliver. Sapphire, the new apprentice and master of dark-type Pokemon," He replied.
"So you're the ones responsible for the mechanical Pinsir?" Woodruff asked.
"That correct. We initially set here to search for rare Pokemon for the boss, but nothing but pathetic Pinsir. So now we're going to make money selling this sap," Emerald said with a laugh.
"That's right."
"So you three were the ones who cut the bridge," Jessie stated.
"Well, duh, how else were we supposed to keep the Pinsir from returning? But even after cutting the bridge, that didn't stop them. They still tried to come back to reclaim their home. But Moonsliver Sandshrew is dealing with them the one none dark type he has on hand," Sapphire said.
"Yes, while the machine here sucks up all the sap from the tree," Moonsliver said.
"So we will be rolling in money!" Emerald said.
The trio then started laughing happily.
"Now I get it. The Pinsir invaded the Hearacross territory to look for food cause Team Rocket had been draining all theirs away," Brock said.
"If they steal all the sap, the whole forest could be destroyed!" Misty exclaimed.
"This is exactly what happens. Humans use nature selfishly without thinking about all consequences first," Woodruff said.
"Sometimes people do bad things when it is the only way to survive," Jessie said softly, and only Lickitug heard what she said.
"That's right! The Hearacross and Pinsir got along fine till the three of you showed up here!" Ash said.
"You wanted to get rich, so you go and bring your sucking machine and throw off the whole balance of nature!" Brock said.
"There is a part of me that understands you, but this is unforgivable," Jessie said.
The two Pokemon then came in front of their trainers.
"Lickitug!"
Pikachu cried out in agreement.
"Balance, I don't care about that money, and survival is all that matters," Moonsliver said.
"We don't care either. The only balance we care about is our savings and checking account!" Sapphire shouted.
"This situation is about to give us a bonus in money with Pikachu," Emerald commented.
Sapphire and Emerald then took out their pokeballs as Moonsliver stopped them, much to their confusion.
"I can handle this easily," Moonsliver said.
Jessie and Ash then took out their pokeballs while their Pokemon charged up third attacks as Moonsliver held up his hand and shook his head.
"No, no," Moonsliver said.
Moonsliver then whistled, and the four trainers turned around to see Sandshrew slide past them and stop in front of Moonsliver. It soon appeared near the tree with a glowing fist, Much to the four trainers and Woodruff's surprise.
"You step any closer, Sandshrew is going to destroy the tree with a Dynamic punch," Moonsliver said.
"There's no way your Samdshrew will be able to destroy that tree with one attack," Woodruff said.
"I wouldn't be too sure Sandshrew looks strong to me," Jessie said.
"Lickitug," Lickitug cried out in agreement.
"She right that Sandshrew coat shows that it's has been trained well," Brock commented.
"So what should we do?" Woodruff asked.
"I suggest you sit back and watch the show and let us have Pikachu," Emerald said, laughing.
Emerald then took out a remote control and started to command the Pinsir robot as it came down and faced the four trainers, their Pokemon, and Woodruff.
"It was made to suck sap, but it's a pretty strong fighter in a pinch," Emerald said.
Ash then sends out Bulbasaur and commands it to use Razor Leaf, But the robot negates the attack with its steel pincers. Bulbasaur then wraps it up in Vine Whip and sends it spinning. Then Ash commands Pikachu to use Thunder Shock on it. However, The mecha absorbs the electricity and shoots it back at the group from its pincers, Pinning them down except for Jessie, who avoided it thanks to Lickitug pulling her out of the way.
"Hey, leave them alone!" Jessie commanded.
Then suddenly, a twin wave of Swift attack came flying towards her and Lickitug. As they managed to avoid the attack as Jessie was pushed to the ground for safety by Lickitug. The two then turned to look at Moonsliver and saw an Umbreon was standing in front of him with Sandshrew.
"That Lickitug is fast, but she can't save you again," Moonsliver said.
"Get out of the way!" Jessie commanded.
"You think that I will listen to you? Sorry girlie, but your batting me! Attack!" Moonsliver commanded.
Moonsliver pokemon launched a double attack at Jessie.
"Lickitug! Slam! Shelly, come out and use Bubble!"
Lickituggrabbed Sandshrew with its tongue and slammed it onto the ground. At the same time, Shelly came out of her PokeBall and countered Umbreon's attack with a Bubble.
Jessie turns her head, noticing Hearacross has intervened with the robot and begins to push against the robot.
At Emerald's command, the Pinsir mecha pushes Hearacross for some distance. In response, Hearacross gathers its strength and begins pushing back while Misty cheers it on, Having changed her opinion of it.
With the mecha getting beaten, the duo argue over poor control and tries to take the remote from one other, and the remote ends up destroyed. Unable to retrieve commands, the robot can't fight back, allowing Ash and the others to remove the sap tank.
Which caused Jessie, Moonsliver, Lickitug, and Shelly to turn their attention toward them.
"Alright!" Jessie cheered.
"What?!" Moonsliver gasped.
Once that was accomplished, Hearacross shoved its horn under the mecha and lifted it up onto its shoulder. With a mighty heave, Hearacross tosses the mecha high into the air. The mecha then landed on the ground and created an explosion knocking Emerald and Sapphire into a tree, coughing. As Hearacross strikes a victory pose.
"Hearacross wins the match!" Ash cheered.
"You're a hero!" Misty exclaimed.
"Ugh, dang it! Moonsliver snapped.
"Let's go. We get Pikachu next time and Lickitug trainer. I know who you are. You look different, but definitely familiar, "Sapphirecommented."Vaporeon haze!" She said, sending out a Vaporeon.
Vaporeon created a dark cloud of haze cloudy everyone's vision. The moment it started to clear on up, The trio was long gone before anyone could stop them.
So, in the end, Sapphire, Emerald, and Moonsliver got away, and the Pinsir happily got their forest back. So after saying bye to Hearacross as d Woodruff, the four trainers continue the road on their journey; Pikachu stops noticing something as it turns around, catching everyone else's attention.
"What the matter Pikachu?" Ash asked.
Pikachuthen points as everyone then spots Hearacross coming towards them.
"Hey, what's Hearacross doing out here," Ash said.
"Where are you going, Hearacross? Aren't you staying with your friends?" Misty asked.
Hearacross shook its head no as Jessie softly laughed.
"I don't get it. What does it want," Misty said.
"I don't know," Brock said.
"It's obvious Hearacross wants to come with Ash," Jessie said.
Lickitug nodded in agreement.
"Hearacross, is that true? You want to come with me?" Ash asked.
Hearacross nods at that as Ash takes out a Pokeball and throws it toward Hearacross.
"Alright!"
Ash then laughs a little as the Pokeball collides with Hearacross, who soon gets sucked into the Pokeball. As it soon comes flying back to Ash as he caught Hearacross.
"Hearacross! Chose me!" Ash cheered.
Pikachu cried out happily at that as everyone smiled at Ash. They soon continue the road on their journey when Misty asked a sudden question to Jessie.
"Hey Jessica, where do Sapphire and Emerald know you from?" Misty asked.
"Yeah, they seem to have recognized you," Ash said curiously.
Jessie tensed up slightly until she felt a lick on her face and turned to see Lickitug comfortably place a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey guys, if there is something she hasn't told us, then don't force her. She probably hasn't shared everything about herself for a reason. Give her time," Brock said, smiling at Jessie, easing her tension.
"Brock, your right; you can tell us when you're ready. I'm sure it is nothing bad," Ash said.
Misty hesitated but decided to leave it be for now.
Now with a new friend on Ash's team, what other kinds of encounters will the four trainers and their Pokemon meet, and will Jessie ever tell them the truth of her past and who she is to her new travel buddies?
