Interlude 13: Reunion Part 1

After formulating their counterattack strategy, Saber left Ayaka and leaped up into the sky. The knight then caught a glimpse of the enemy who attacked Ayaka, a skeleton, and aimed his holy sword at it.

'Whoosh!' Creating another gust of wind Saber propelled himself straight into the skeleton and stabbed it right in its core with his sword. One strike was all he needed to utterly obliterate the skeleton from the face of the earth.

"That was for my Master." Saber spoke as he walked away from the skeleton as the latter disintegrated completely. The knight then noticed five, no, six skeletons a few meters away from him. The skeletons noticed the presence of the Servant and charged at him.

"…" Without a word, the knight dispatched the group of skeletons without breaking a sweat! Once again, only one strike was all it took to destroy them. All six of them crumbled to dust and returned to the earth.

'That looks like all of them.' Saber thought to himself as he lowered his guard for a second to catch his breath. The use of a Command Spell requires magical energy from both the Master and the Servant.

But since Ayaka's quantity and quality of magic circuits, the gears in her body that contain magical energy are average at best, Saber had to use more of his own magical energy to make up the difference. Not to mention, that Saber has only recently recovered from his injuries in his battle with Archer, it is no surprise that the knight needs a second to reclaim his supply of Mana.

However, a second is all she needed to catch him by surprise.

"It's been a while, hasn't it, Arthur." The enemy spoke as she whispered into the knight's ear. Saber's eyes opened completely after hearing those words. He was utterly dumbfounded as to why 'she' would be here. Saber wanted to do something, but he was at a complete disadvantage.

"…What is the meaning of this, Morgan?" Saber spoke as he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists together. Saber has superhuman reflexes and speed that far surpass the average Servant. However, even that will do little good when there is a weapon aimed at his back.

"As I said, it's been so long since we've last seen each other, right? All I want to do is catch up. Say, how is your new master doing?" Caster asked as she tried to get under Saber's skin.

"…" Saber remained silent.

"Seriously? You're really giving me the silent treatment after all we've been through? Are you still mad about what happened to your last Master?" Caster asked as her words managed to pierce the knight's armor and made the veins on his forehead bulge with out of uncontrollable anger.

"Stop." Saber commanded.

"I knew it. You still haven't gotten over what happened to that girl. It's been eight years. Get over it. I mean you chose to k-" Caster spoke but was cut off as the knight slammed his foot into the ground which caused it to crack and caught the magician off balance. The knight then turned around in a flash and-

"Not. Another. Word." Saber spoke as he stabbed Caster right in her core. A Servant's core is quite literally their heart. So, if it's destroyed then the Servant, no matter who they are, will cease to exist within the real world.

Except, this isn't Caster's body.

"What?!" Saber yelled in surprise as he realized that fact.

"Oh Arthur, you still fall for the old 'dummy trick.'" Caster spoke as her fake body rapidly disintegrated with the passing of each second.

"If the reason you're fighting in this grail war is to claim revenge against me, then why would you target this school?" Saber asked.

"You really haven't learned anything after all this time, have you? Everything's not about you. It's about her. Your Master, Ayaka Sajyou." Caster spoke with a sadistic smile.

"A-Ayaka? But why?!" Saber yelled but he was too late.

"Time's up. Till next time, Arthur." Caster spoke as her fake body completely disintegrated as she was never in the school in the first place. In her place, several skeletons materialized as well as even more from the hallways and they all instantly noticed the knight.

"RRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Saber roared as he charged forward with lightning speed to take out the hoard of skeletons waiting for him.
