Permission

A week later on Coruscant, Raven had just arrived at the Republic SIS Agency Headquarters where he found a still recovering Mia in her office.
"Shouldn't you be at home?" Raven asked her teasingly as he entered the room which currently looked like a bomb had dropped. Datapads and discs were scattered everywhere as the Agent went crazy trying to find something.
"Not until I find out where this Agent is from," Mia growled in frustration, "This is impossible, there is no record of anyone by the name of Lazarn Brightvale anywhere in the Republic database."
"Well if he is an Imperial Agent then I'm not all that surprised that you can't find any trace of him," Raven stated obviously.
"That is impossible as he seemed to be just older than me which means this Empire was even around when you would have been born," Mia pointed out.
"Which means he was born during the Clone Wars," Raven mentioned, "Is it possible that he was born on a planet that was controlled by the Separatist Alliance?" he asked.
"No, because the Republic now has all those records which means I would be able to find him," the Agent stated in frustration.
"Okay, come on you need a break from all of this," Raven said as he dragged her out of the office and headquarters building.
After a few minutes, they reached her small apartment and sat down in the living room in awkward silence for a few minutes.
"So we need to talk about what happened in the hangar on the Constellation," Raven said awkwardly as he broke the silence.
Mia blushed slightly, "Why is that?" she asked.
Raven sighed heavily as he ran a hand through his long hair, "Well, I wasn't sure until then whether you had feelings for me or not," he mentioned awkwardly.
"And?" Mia asked.
"This is so complicated, Jedi aren't allowed to have a romantic relationship with someone unless they have permission from the Jedi High Council," Raven revealed.
"Well that doesn't seem to stop your friends," Mia pointed out.
"If you are referring to Daly and Ash, then I should probably tell you that they do have permission for their relationship," Raven stated simply.
"Oh," the Agent mumbled, "Sorry, I didn't realise."
"If we were to continue without permission and I get caught by the Council I would be dismissed from the Jedi Order," Raven revealed.
"Well I don't want you getting kicked out because of me, maybe you could ask the Council for permission," Mia suggested hesitantly.
At that moment, Raven's comlink started to beep and he answered it swiftly, "Vitalis here."
"Knight Vitalis, Master Yoda requests your presence immediately in the Council chambers," a voice said on the other end.
"Very well, I will be there soon," Raven replied as he ended the communication and rose to his feet, "Make sure you get some rest," he added in concern for her health.
"Well maybe one day, things will change," Mia whispered, her voice filled with hope as she looked down at the floor.
Raven sighed, "I hope so," he said as he left the Agent alone in her apartment.

Raven entered the private meditation room in the Council chambers to find Master Yoda sitting on one of the many cushions and the Jedi Knight took a seat on an empty cushion.
"You wanted to speak to me, Master Yoda?" Raven inquired curiously.
"Heavy your mind is," the Jedi Grandmaster stated with his eyes still closed.
"I'm fine Master," the young Jedi Knight insisted, trying to hide that nothing was wrong.
"Hmmm, talk to someone you should about it," Master Yoda said firmly as he opened his eyes to look at the young man.
"There is nothing wrong," Raven stated again, "What did you need to speak to me about?"
"Ready you are to take on a Padawan Learner," Master Yoda revealed which shocked the Jedi Knight.
"I don't feel ready," he said as he felt less confident than he had been a few months before.
"Feelings irrelevant they are when taking on a student," the Jedi Grandmaster stated simply.
"But Master Yoda, you have always taught us to listen to our feelings?" Raven asked in confusion.
Master Yoda nodded, "Listen to your feelings, yes, use them you should also do but control you they should not."
"I understand," Raven responded simply as he nodded his head slightly, "Did you have any Younglings that you would suggest?" he asked.
"Hmm, Youngling Rexan Sundar. Come, accompany you to meet him I will," the small green alien said as he climbed down off the cushion and began walking alongside the young Jedi Knight. The pair walked through the Jedi Temple hallways until they reached a classroom that was filled with Younglings who were all sitting at desks as Master Shaak Ti taught them a lesson about the history of the Jedi Order. Upon the Jedi Grandmaster and Jedi Knight entering the room all the children turned in their seats to look at them.
"Master Yoda and Knight Vitalis, what can I do for you?" Master Ti asked politely.
"Talk to Youngling Rexan Sundar I wish to," Master Yoda requested.
"Of course," the Togrutan Master responded as one of the boys rose from his seat and exited the classroom with the two older Jedi.
Rexan had green eyes and short black hair that was slightly unkept with a short beginning of Padawan braid that hung down behind his right ear.
"How goes your studies Youngling?" Master Yoda asked curiously.
"Alright, I guess Master Yoda," Rexan replied with little confidence evident in his voice.
"Youngling Sundar, Knight Vitalis this is," the Jedi Grandmaster introduced them to each other.
The Youngling bowed in greeting, "It's nice to meet you, Master Jedi."
"And I you," Raven responded with the same gesture.
"Now go acquaint with each other as Master and Padawan you both should," Master Yoda revealed as he walked away chuckling lightly in amusement, leaving a shocked 14-year-old boy standing there with Raven, gaping at the small green alien's back.
"Well he certainly knows how to drop a bomb on people," Raven pointed out.
"Tell me about it, Master," Rexan added to his statement.
Raven smiled and then began to walk in the direction of the North hangar, "Come along Padawan, there are a lot of people you need to meet," he said as his new student followed him quickly.
When they reached the hangar, everyone was in there doing different things. Eric, Inoma, Alazea, Chewbacca, Stones, Gilgaro, Ancor and P7 were working on the upgrades to the Scoundrels Constellation. Mayken was sitting on a crate while talking to Jania and Mia about who knows what while Obi-Paulo was standing next to his Master who was talking with Gav. The Jedi Knight could not see Ashlyn, Daly, Kai and Kayli but he had no doubt that they were somewhere in the hangar.
At that moment, Obi-Paulo saw them and approached quickly, "Hey Rexan!" he called to the teenager.
"Paulo," Rexan greeted in excitement.
"Finally decided to join our crazy crew?" Obi-Paulo asked with a humour-laced tone, "Come on I'll introduce you to everyone."
Rexan glanced up at his new Jedi Master who gave a single nod and he watched his new Padawan Learner runoff.
Raven approached Serin and asked, "Whereabouts is Daly?"
"He is helping to repair Kai's Starfighter, it's still in pretty bad condition," Serin replied.
"Okay, how is the scar healing by the way?" Raven inquired.
Serin's scar began above in the middle of his forehead and ran diagonally across his right eye and ended just before his right ear.
"Still sore but it's getting there," Serin answered truthfully.
Raven nodded and then left to go to where Kai's Starfighter had been located the last time he had seen it, he was met with an amusing sight which included Daly being covered in grease and Ashlyn's legs sticking out from under the ship. While Kayli was laughing at Kai whose usually white blonde hair was now blackened by oil and grease.
"What happened to you?" Raven asked as he approached his best friend.
"There was more damage than we thought and as we were putting the panel back on the underside Kai and I got covered in grease and oil," Daly explained briefly.
"I think I need to change your nickname to Ebony, Snow-top," Kayli said as she laughed uncontrollably at the situation.
Kai groaned slightly, "Please don't?" he asked as his cheeks turned a slight shade of pink which was barely visible through the grease and oil.
"How is it that you got Knighted after crashing your Starfighter into the Citadel?" Raven asked teasingly.
"Trust me, I've been wondering the exact same thing," Ashlyn stated as she pulled herself out from underneath the Starfighter.
"Jaktei lurust ni cumo," Kai said in Nabooian as he glared at his childhood best friend.
Ashlyn poked her tongue at the Jedi Knight playfully and then she got up onto her feet, "Well that should be about it."
"Thanks, Ash," Daly said as he kissed her on the cheek quickly as Ash ducked out of the way.
"Eww, no. Not while you're covered in that you don't," Ashlyn snapped as she swiftly walked away from her husband.
"She loves it," Daly stated simply with a shrug of his shoulders.
"No, I don't!" Ashlyn yelled back at him when she heard what he said causing Daly to chuckle.
"Master Yoda gave me permission to take on a Padawan Learner," Raven revealed.
"Really?" Daly asked, "That's great!"
"Are you or Ash thinking of getting a Padawan?" Raven inquired in curiosity.
"I don't think we would be able to. What with all the lessons that Ash is having from Master Yoda about becoming the next Jedi Grandmaster and I'm not ready for a student," Daly answered honestly.
"Yeah I guess that makes sense," Raven mumbled softly, "Plus you both share private quarters," he added in realisation.
Daly nodded in response, "Anyways, Kai we should get this panel back on and then we can test the Starfighter to make sure it's running properly again," he said to the other Jedi Knight who jumped forward to help.
"I'll see you guys around," Raven farewelled as he left them to it and decided to go over to where the girls were still sitting but this time they had been joined by Ashlyn.
"I took your advice," Mia said as they made eye contact, "You were right, there is no point stressing myself out about something that's not very important at the moment," she added.
"You got thrown out of your office, didn't you?" Raven asked.
The Agent sighed with a small smile on her lips, "Thrown and locked out," she admitted openly causing everyone to laugh.
"Well I better be off, have to talk my Padawan through selecting his classes for his study and then take him to get new robes," Raven farewelled the girls as he walked over to where Rexan, Obi-Paulo and Mayken were talking to Alazea who had stopped helping with the upgrades to talk to her daughter.
"Come along Padawan, there is plenty to do in such a short period of time," Raven said as he led his student out of the hangar and through the Temple hallways.

THE END.
