"So, what's this Rally tonight about?" Hagakure asked as they roamed the streets of the rally.
"Word on the street is that people in Harlem don't really approve of Roxxon being in the neighborhood with their big building and plaza." Connor said. "Rio Morales, who's running for city council, is trying to make Harlem's voice heard."
"Think we could use this rally to find out more about what Roxxon's up to with Nuform? We still don't know why the Underground's targeting them." Kaibara said.
"It's worth a shot." Lei said.
"So, does anybody know what Jexi's been up to lately?" Connor curiously asked. "Guessing he's probably off training again, getting stronger as usual."
"He went off with Luffy and the Dimensional Heroes who didn't come here." Ash K said.
"Guess everyone's off doing their own thing…" Ace said.
"What about you? What hobbies do you have when you're not doing all of this?" Law asked.
"Now that I got my own business, I just hang around Mezagoza and wait for the next job to come in." Connor replied. "Never really considered hobbies."
"It's just a part of life, man. Everyone has their own roads to take. Especially mine." David said. "Because of everything that has gone on since I became a high school senior, I barely have any free time for myself now."
"Work's always a pain, huh?" Connor said. "But, if I ever wanted to take up a hobby if I wasn't a man for hire… I'd wanna try out archery."
"That's an interesting choice." Miriam said.
"It might prove useful in the long run whenever you're not using guns." Tsubasa added. "Chris, myself, and even our Miriam learned how to use a bow."
"I think you'd make a good archer as well. You certainly seem like you have the sharp eye for it." Sachiko said.
"But I have some good news for Jexi, Cheetah and Esmeralda, though." David said.
"What kind of good news are you… Oh wait, you mean how it's getting close to summer vacation back home, right?" Sachiko asked.
"Yep. That's right. From mid-July to the end of August, we're free!" David said. "Which means we can tussle with them as much as we want, and we can really explore some really cool locales in other worlds."
"He seems really pumped up about that part." Kaito said.
"Well, high school seniors have a lot on their plate with university entrance exams and all. They can take pretty much any reprieve they can get." Leopardmon said.
They continued to talk and walk around the rally before the video screen above started to flicker as a masked figure appeared.
"What in the…" Izuku said.
"This message is for Roxxon! The man you answer to, Simon Krieger, is a killer! This plaza is a monument to every wicked thing he's done. I won't let it open! The Underground will stop it." they said as Undergrounders started to flood into the plaza.
"Not exactly the best platform to campaign with." Mark said. "Shall we go give 'em some criticism?"
Heights Alliance quickly changed into their costumes (having them under some street clothes) and engaged the underground with the Hero Alliance together, Miles soon arriving on the scene, suited up as well.
"The Tinkerer said focus on Roxxon!" a female Unergrounder said.
"This isn't about you and your buddies, Spider-Man!" a male one added.
"Too bad, because it's kind of our problem now." David said.
"What's going on? I thought they were after Nuform, but there's none here." Izuku said as he was decking a couple of them.
"I don't know, but whatever they're after, it can't be anything good. We need to contain the situation here before anything." Sachiko said.
The Underground attacked the group as they individually took down the Brawlers and Gunners in the area.
Suddenly, there was an explosion in the distance.
"That can't be good…" Zephyr said.
"It's in the direction of Braithwaite Bridge. The explosion looks bad…" Miles said.
"Now I get it… this attack was just a diversion! There's probably a Nuform Shipment going over the bridge, that was their real target." Kendo said.
"We need to hurry over there now." Izuku said as the heroes quickly departed towards the bridge.
Upon reaching the Braithwaite Bridge, they looked in awe as they saw Roxxon Security and the Undergrounders going at each other. Miles was first to arrive, and got between the two sides.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let's not shoot each other, alright?" Miles asked, before he looked ahead to the Underground side and saw the Tinkerer appeared in person. They knocked Miles aside with a swift kick before his Spider-sense could even go off, and then grappeled the back of the truck with two programmable matter-made grappling gooks, and pried the door off, revealing a ton of Nuform canisters.
"Take everything." the Tinkerer said, grabbing a canister of Nuform.
"Stop it right there." Kaminari said, firing a disc. "Target…Electro!" he said as he shocked the Tinkerer as her mask dropped for a moment.
"What?...It can't…" Miles said before he was knocked into the truck as his powers kicked in as the Nuform started to become super charged.
"Miles!" Miriam said before the truck exploded. The explosion destabilized the entire bridge, as the cables were snapping right off. Miles didn't have much time to recover, as the Underground was reconvening on him and the Heights Alliance as a fight on a breaking down bridge began.
"He blew up the whole truck!" one of the Undergrounders noted.
"Miles, are you alright?!" Hagakure asked.
"I'm fine, but— did you see the Tinkerer's face?" Miles said. "She's my best friend, Phin Mason!"
"Your best friend? How is that possible?" Kaito asked.
"We'll worry about the details later." Miu said.
"She's right, we've got bigger things to worry about." X said.
"Yeah, the bridge is coming down. We have to stop this..!" Miles said.
"Take out the Underground as fast as possible first, and then go to rescue the civilians!" Ichiro said.
"Right. Divide and conquer. Save and defend!" Izuku called out.
The group divided into two teams. Those Combat-oriented engaged the Underground while the others went to rescue those trapped on the collapsing bridge.
"Remember to use non-lethal force when facing them! They're human beings, after all!" Maria reminded, using her whip-sword to slice off the Underground grunts' weapons, allowing Tsubasa and Hibiki to move in and knock them out with punches and kicks.
"Okay, dess!" Kirika complied, slicing off the grunts' weapons with her scythe, allowing Shirabe to move in and knock them down with spin kicks.
"Recipro Burst!" Iida called out as he rushed by and grabbed a number of citizens.
"Ribbit!" Tsuyu called out as she used her tongue to grab the valve of a tanker before opening it to pour water on a raging fire keeping people trapped.
Miu summoned her Arm Legion to lift up a piece of rubble that was keeping another group of civilians trapped.
Suddenly, a Bus containing passengers was close to going over the edge.
"The bus!" Izuku said, looking back before he grabbed it with his Black Whips. "Everyone off!" Izuku called out as the citizens started running off. The bus however, soon tipped over more as Izuku was still holding onto it with two Blackwhips, the driver still aboard.
"Hang on!" Setsuna said, grabbing the driver with two of her arms separated from her body and pulled him out.
"Thank you!" The driver thanked Setsuna as he was laid on a barge as the bus fell into the river, Setsuna's arms coming back to her.
Despite their best efforts, the bridge was still coming down, and people were trapped on an isolated hanging part.
"I can help!" Nuna said, sprouting a viny bridge.
"You'll need more than that, little lamb." Shiozaki said as she secured it with her own vines as well as people started crossing on them.
"Thanks!" Nuna smiled.
It wasn't long before everyone was safe and accounted for.
"Okay, it looks like that's everyone. So we should…" Izuku said before Roxxon security showed up. "Oh…it's all good. Everyone is…" he said as they took up arms against Miles. "What are you doing? Spider-Man and us saved everyone!"
"We're taking you Heights Alliance kids in too. You're associated with Spider-Man, and since he destroyed our property, that means you gotta answer for it too." they said.
"What?" Miles said. "Ah…ah…" Miles said as he was clearly panicking as his costume flickered a bit before he vanished.
"What the? Where'd he go?" the security guy said as they looked around in a panic.
"Did he go over?" one of the civilians watching asked.
"Did they push him?" another asked.
"What happened?" Hope asked.
"I think…Miles's power let him camouflage with his surroundings." Izuku said.
"Where is he? What did you do?!" one of the security agents demanded the heroes, pointing his gun at them, the other agents following his lead.
"We'd better get outta here." Zephyr said.
"Look…we…we don't want…just…let us…leave!" Izuku called out as smoke started to come off him in big purple clouds.
"What the-?!" the Roxxon agents exclaimed as the smoke blocked their vision. When it cleared, the whole group had gone, the troops seeing their fleeing forms growing smaller in the distance. "Damn it."
"I'll call some backup. They can intercept-" one of the agents started to suggest before a call came in on his helmet. "Yes? …Okay, copy that."
"Orders from Krieger?"
"Yeah. We're to focus on the new Spider-Man and the Underground." the call-taking agent said. "Apparently, the contractors will handle the Heights Alliance and their allies."
The heroes ran down the streets and away from the bridge.
"Dude…what the heck was that?" Asta asked.
"I dunno. I think it might have been another Quirk from a previous user." Izuku said.
"Just like before." Thorani said.
"So, some of you already saw this?" Leopardmon asked.
"It was like this when Mr. Negative attacked. Izuku was so emotional that…I think he tapped into a latent power." Thorani said.
"Yeah. It's something we figured worth discussing with All Might about." David said.
"Actually…we visited All Might after we all split up." Aelita said. "Apparently…the Quirks from the previous users…they all melded with One For All. Counting the whips and that smokescreen, there's four other Quirks left untapped."
"Yikes. That really does sound bad." David said.
"Did anyone else witness it when Mr. Negative attacked?" Rinwell asked.
"Yeah, Jexi, Kentaurosmon, Revali and Akane definitely took notice." David said.
"And you didn't tell us?" Hope said.
"Cause some of you are terrible at keeping secrets." Revali said.
"Unfortunately it's true." Thorani said.
"Okay, so let's recap a bit." Akane said. "There were eight users of One for All before Izuku, right? And the quirks of those users are starting to come out from inside him. So far, he's got Blackwhip and… uh… Smokescreen, unlocked."
"Smokescreen?" Pit asked.
"Gotta call it something." Akane replied.
"Look, we don't need to analyze all of this right now. We just need to keep running." Connor said.
"Connor's right. We can't allow those guys to catch us now that they saw our faces." Miu said.
"Still…what did Roxxon want with us? We saved those people so why target us? Either we made some big mistake…or Roxxon isn't the friendly face we all think it is." Izuku said.
