Now onto the story.

Terror and Discovery

Will grunted, straining against his bonds as he was dragged from the van. He had managed to get the gag off but nobody seemed to care this time and he wasn't too surprised. The building he had been dragged into was practically in the middle of nowhere.

"What is this, where are you taking me!?" He cried.

But they ignored him, instead forcing him into the building, a warehouse of sorts. What really startled him was that there seemed to be nothing inside, except a strange machine and, seemingly producing from it, was a large portal of sorts up against the wall. It was like a massive tear in the war with tendrils, vines and webbing coming from it, as well as a red glow and it seemed to be fluctuating.

"I see you're interested in our man-made gate." A man said suddenly.

Will flinched and looked around wildly until he saw the speaker, a man standing by the machine that he recognized, although he had never seen him before. Will knew the figure well enough from El's description. It was Brenner.

"What is this?" Will tried to keep his voice from trembling.

Brenner gave a dry smile. "Well, William Byers, this is how I am going to accomplish my goal, despite everything that has happened to try and drive Eleven from her true purpose."

Will tensed, noting right away El wasn't wrong, the way he talked, he was clearly treating El like an object instead of a person.

Brenner touched the machine before him fondly.

"This here is a portable gate opener, normally we'd only be able to do this under intense and controlled conditions in our lab. But with this, it can be done anywhere...something which works perfectly for my plan." Brenner explained. "The importance of the gate is it opens the way to-"

Will almost immediately put it together, in turn with what El had told them.

"The Upside Down."

Brenner scoffed. "If that's the childish name you want to call it...Anyway, it's a shame we couldn't get both you and Michael Wheeler, but...this will do. We're already aware of how close you've become with Eleven. That should be sufficient."

He looked up at the men holding Will and nodded.

"Send him in."

Will froze, and his shock left him hesitant to resist as he was untied and forced towards the gate. He tried to struggle, scream, anything, but it was no use. Nobody here had any sympathy for him and he was soon sent through the gate into the Upside Down, where those monsters made their home, he would be trapped wherever he would end up on the other side. Brenner didn't care however, he just needed to wait for things to pan out as he'd hope, he had to make sure there would be nobody around to ruin things, so he left with his men, all while passing on orders to them and others.

"You're sure about this Dustin, I mean, you just got a...call from this girl and now-" Lucas asked warily.

Dustin sighed and shook his head. "I know, I know it sounds crazy. But it might be our only chance. If Suzie is right, the people who took Will are also holding her captive and...and perhaps it's the lab."

The others shared worried looks as they considered, Dustin had told them about Suzie now and also what she had revealed. Finally after a pause, Max spoke up.

"Okay, let's say Dustin's right, that still doesn't help us understand why they took Will or where they've taken him."

They shared a worried look and finally Mike spoke up. "From what little I was able to overhear, they want him for something to do with El, something to help Brenner with his plans, whatever they are."

They all looked over to El who had gone stiff, eyes wide.

"El, what are you-?" Lucas began.

She quickly hurried towards a nearby drawer and began rummaging around inside.

"I think I know what's happened, I just need to…" She began.

She cut herself off as she found what she was looking for, a scarf which she quickly pulled around her eyes, blindfolding herself.

"Just give me a moment." She told them as she sat down.

Realising at once what she was doing they fell silent while Dustin turned on the TV and fixed it up to produce some background static while El focused her powers and wind, desperately seeking out Will. The others waited anxiously and ended up becoming even more fearful when she gasped and a look of fear crossed her face, especially when she pulled the blindfold off and looked around at them, terrified.

"This is, it's more dangerous than I thought, for all of us…" She blurted out and then, with a shudder. "Will is trapped in the Upside Down."
