(Marinette's POV)

What was up with Luka ?

Marinette was surprised when Luka took three wrong turns to reach a theatre that was bang in the centre of Tokyo. He was on a phone call throughout the drive and almost swerved into a car. Very suspicious behavior indeed, since Luka was not a rash driver. He evaded all her questions whenever she tried to ask him about it.

"We're here !"

Oh, thank the kwamis. I was worried if we'd ever make it here, with the way he was driving.

Luka half pushed, half dragged Marinette to make her move faster.

"Jeez Luka, I can walk, you know."

Luka snorted. "Okay sure. I'll wait another year before I enter the theater."

Marinette didn't hear him. "Okay, sure, whatever."

The duo made their way to the snacks counter and bought two cokes. Luka glared at the cashier when he tried to flirt with Marinette. Marinette was as blissfully oblivious as ever.

"Okay Marinette. So the first part of your surprise is..."

Luka pauses dramatically. "Waiting for you inside the theater!"

I rolled my eyes affectionately. Dear Luka and his knack for dramatics.

As soon as I entered the theater, I gasped.

"LUKA OH MY GOD Thank you!"

"Sure, lil bug."

He had gotten all my friends together for a movie date. But... he was gonna be seriously third wheeled. Except me and Kagami, he did not know any of the people in here.

"Marinette, I can literally see the gears in your head turning. Don't worry, I got my own gang. Hi Gami," Luka said as he winked and walked to Kagami.

"Luka." Kagami replied before she kissed him.

They were still going at it when Mylene awkwardly cleared her throat. "Guys, we're in public so please limit your displays of affection."

Luka and Kagami walked off hand-in-hand as I skipped away with my friends.

I was gripping my seat tightly as Anabelle stalked out of the bedroom, and I reached into my popcorn. Only to see that somebody else was eating out of my popcorn.

"Excuse me sir? I think you're eating from the wrong popcorn."

The said man awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. "I'm sorry," he apologised before muttering under his breath "Luka seriously..."

Hmm. "How do you know Luka?"

"He's my friend. I came with him."

"Oh, me too. I'm Marinette."

"I'm Adrien. Excuse me for being nosy, but how do you know Luka?," he continued conspirationally, "He's pretty shy when it comes to girls."

I laughed. "Me and Luka go way back. I've known him since Lycée and I'm responsible for him and Kagami becoming an item."

Conversation flowed easily and I lost track of the movie as me and Adrien had our own little conversation.

(Adrien's POV)

Me and Marinette were debating on which animal would make a better pet, a hamster or a cat when the movie ended.

"-and it's obvious that a hamster would make a better pet." Marinette said as she faced him. My eyes widened.

"Mr. Agreste!" She screeched as her eyes blew wide. "You're Adrien?"

I scratched my neck. "Um yeah. I can't believe I already knew you, Cheng," he teased.

She flushed awkwardly as a couple of people looked on curiously.

Cute.

"And please, just Adrien. I hate it when people call me that. I'd prefer you call me that Monday onwards." I whispered.

Oh Shit.

I wasn't supposed to say that.

This time, I wasn't expecting the hug that came from her.

She pulled back quickly as she gave me a huge smile. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"So I got the job?"

"Yep."

I heard the yell of Nino and Kim as they yelled for me to come quickly. "I'm sorry, I have to go! Bye Marinette!"

I waved as I yelled at his running form. "See you monday!"

I also quickly went back out to see everybody waiting near Juleka's car.

"What took you so long?" Alix questioned as I got in.

"Nothing much." I replied. "I just met my boss. Turns out he's Luka's friend."

"Okay. Let's go." Mylene said as Rose and Juleka stepped in the front seats.

"You're gonna love the next part of the surprise." Alya whispered as we drove away.
