A/N: Set during New Moon when Bella chases Edward through the woods in an attempt to find him after he leaves her.

Chapter 5

Bella's POV-

"So, you are claiming to be from a different universe?" Sam snorted, amusedly staring at me.

"It is not a joke!" I scowled, offended by the ridiculous smirk on his face. One I would take heavy pleasure in wiping off!

"Really, Bella? You expect me to believe that?"

"But it is the truth!" I waved my hands in air. "Look, I told you everything. Charlie and Renee divorced back when I was an infant, with Renee moving off to California- where I grew up, before moving to Arizona. She never died. Charlie never remarried. He never had any other children!"

"Is that what it is? Are you jealous of them?"

Excuse me?

"Is that why you making up such terrible stories in which they don't exist?"

"I…what…who does that?" It was crazy he thought that was a possibility. "I am not lying."

"Of course, you are." He snorted. "The whole tale you tell me seems fabricated from the start to end. You were a vampire's singer, and yet you survived. Multiple times. He saved you from everything- car accident to almost being sexually attacked, and a bad vampire's attack, almost in the span of a month. The two of you fell in love within hours, if not days. He used to enter your room through the window every night and the police chief of a town did not realize this. Tell me, doesn't this seem a bit far-fetched to you? From what I have heard, Charlie Swan is a very involved parent. He raised you singlehandedly, working equal hours and yet being a good parent to you. It seems strange that he would be this oblivious to something occurring right under his nose."

"He didn't in my universe, okay?" I scowled in fury. "I rarely even saw my father. It was just me and Renee before she remarried. Charlie was an absent figure in my life. He did not care. His work was his only priority." And I was strangely okay with that. I had grown used to it. "Okay, tell me, if I am lying, how do I know that the Cullen's are vampires, or that they sparkle in the sun?"

"Simple." He shrugged. "You grew up listening to the stories. You are a smart girl; it is not difficult to join the dots."

"And what about their powers? Those are not mentioned in the 'stories!"

"How do I know that Edward Cullen can actually read a mind, or that his sister can see the future? It could very well all be untrue."

"Because I am telling you, damn it! It is the truth. Edward could read minds, all except mine. Alice could see the future. Jasper could sense and manipulate emotions. Vampires have powers! They told me all about it!"

This was a mistake!

I should never have involved him in this.

He wouldn't understand.

No one would.

"Whatever." I waved him off. He was never going to believe me. "I am just going to go… wait." I paused, a sudden thought appearing in my head, causing me to smile in assumed victory. "Leah."

"What about her?" he glared at me, daring me to continue, "she is single and available in my universe." I didn't actually know that. I had played with Leah Clearwater once as a child. I couldn't even recollect her face now, forget knowing her relationship status.

"So?" he looked interested, but hesitant.

I had to get him on my team.

"So, if I can live in this universe, you can live in my universe, too, without facing any repercussions. It is a nice one. You will get to be with Leah!"

I was so faking it.

But if it works…

Who knew how Leah swung back in that universe?

"I don't care." He attempted to appear indifferent. Key word- attempted.

"Think about it." I added fuel to my lit fire. "Leah and you back together. Nobody stopping you. I can be with Edward; you can be with her. You can marry her, have babies with her, grow old with her."

"If…" he waved his hands in air. "If I were to say yes- I am not saying it- but just for assumption's sake, how would we go about with it?"

Yes!

I had him in the bag!

"We would need to find the tunnel. That is the only way out."

"I can find it."

"You can?"

I spent hours in the woods and could not get the least bit trace of it!

He gave me the duh look. "I will search in my wolf form. Eye-sight is much sharper."

Oh.

"Let's do this then." I hesitantly smiled, overly excited by the proposition of going back to my world. Sure, I would be taking Sam with me, but eh. I did not need to talk to him once we were there!

"Give me an hour." He seemed confident enough, his confidence making me rejoice.

Edward, I was coming home!

X-X-X

"I found the tunnel."

I had never heard sweeter words before.

"Where is it? Why are we still waiting? Let's go!"

"Hold on."

What now?

I frowned in question, nearly pushing Sam out of his own house- where I had been waiting since the past one hour. His parents were out, thankfully, and I had been sitting here staring at the white walls, simply waiting to hear from him. Which now I had- so why were we still here?

"The tunnel seems different."

"In what sense?"

"Well, you said that you fell down. Obviously."

I nodded my head in agreement.

"This tunnel too is going downwards. I am not sure if it is the right one."

"Well…" he did have a point. How could both the tunnels be facing downwards? If I had fallen from up, how was heading further down going to solve my problem? "Maybe, it is round? Like a sphere"

"I am not sure."

Neither was I.

"But I am. It is the right tunnel. It will take us to my universe. You will get back with Leah." And I with Edward.

I knew that I was dangling a carrot in front of him but eh.

"I don't know…."

"You want to be with her, right? This is the only way. Are you in or not?" I forced my words on him.

He was not backing out.

"I want to be with her…fine. Let's do this."

I smiled, taking his hand in mine as he led me towards the tunnel, our brief walk spent in silence as we approached our future, with me jumping in first, and him following.

I was going home.
