Chapter 20

Hangovers Suck

Alex awoke the next day to sunlight beaming in Olivia's room. It felt like it was piercing through her as she grabbed the front of her head as she sat up, feeling the uncomfortable throb of a headache. She winced as she reached over to the side table to begin looking for her glasses. She faintly remembered laying them there at some point in the night.

Once she carefully sat the glasses on her face, she turned to look at Olivia who was still asleep, still dressed in her bra and shorts. Alex couldn't help her wandering eyes as she surveyed Olivia's sleeping form, smiling as she admired her body.

Alex, still smiling, reached over to the nightstand to grab her phone and check it. She had a text from her Mom.

Mom: Hello, my sweet girl! Your father and I, (and Casey's parents), are swinging by campus today! We are attending a show in the city this evening, so we thought we would swing by and visit you girls. We'll be by your dorm around 3:00! I'll call you when we're close. I love you, Alexandra!

Alex frantically checked the time on her phone – it was 12:47pm.

"Shit!" Alex yelled, jumping out of bed, startling Olivia awake.

"What happened?" Olivia sleepily said, propping herself up on her elbows before squeezing her eyes closed and grabbing her head.

"Mine and Casey's parents are coming!" Alex began pacing back and forth frantically at the foot of Olivia's bed.

Olivia let out a yawn before speaking. "When?"

"In like 2 hours! Oh my God, Casey!" Alex quickly ran to Olivia's door to run downstairs and look for Casey, who was nowhere to be found. Johnny was up on the Xbox, and a couple other guys she didn't know were sleeping on the couch.

"What up, Blondie?" Johnny said before turning to look at Alex, pausing his game. Alex was looking in the closet and then made her way to the bathroom. "Yo, what're you looking for?"

"Where's Casey?"

"Who's Casey?"

Alex sighed. "The redhead."

"Oh, you mean Red? She's upstairs in Elliot's room." Johnny turned back to his game as Alex made her way back upstairs, meeting Olivia as she came out of her room with a shirt on, now.

"You find her?" Olivia yawned as she stretched.

"Johnny said she's in Elliot's room," Alex said, eyebrow raised.

Olivia swiftly made her way to Elliot's door, opening it and barging in, turning on the light, making all three of it's occupants groan. "Oh, I'm sorry, am I bothering you?"

Alex couldn't help but chuckle as she figured Olivia was still irritated from their interruptions the night before. She tore her eyes away from Olivia to look at Elliot's bed. He was on the side closest to her, with Kathy in the middle and Casey on the other side of Kathy, cuddling into her.

"Get out, Liv," Elliot groaned, holding his pillow over his face.

"What's wrong?" Kathy asked.

Casey sat up and immediately placed her head in her hands, groaning before turning her head to squint at Alex. "There's so much noise. Too much light. What are you two doing in here?"

"Case… we need to go," Alex said, panicked.

"Why, what's wrong?" Casey asked, her voice raspy.

"Our parents are going to be here in like 2 hours."

"What?" Casey said, quickly reaching over to grab her phone on the nightstand, groaning afterwards as her movements were too quick. She opened her phone and sure enough, had a text from her mom as well.

Casey let out a few fake cries as she placed her head in her hands once more. "Dude… why today? Why couldn't they tell us like a week ago? I can't walk back to the dorm right now."

"We're going to have to. I need a shower, and so do you. We need to hurry, Casey." Alex was speaking with urgency.

Casey just groaned. "Can we tell them no?"

Alex scoffed. "Please, be my guest to tell them."

"Ugh. Fuck, alright." Casey stood up and immediately staggered, still feeling some alcohol in her blood system.

"Hey, I can help," Olivia said, turning to Alex. "Why don't you take a shower here, Lex? You can borrow some of my clothes. That will give Casey some time to get some ibuprofen and food in her system and hopefully sober her up completely and get her moving. Then, I'll drive you guys to the dorm."

Alex felt a slew of emotions at once. She's so smart. So helpful. Her clothes? That… smell like her? Oh God. Wait… she has a car?

"Wow, that's… brilliant, Olivia. You okay with that plan, Casey?"

"Yeah yeah, just get me some pills please." Casey was holding her head as she walked towards the bathroom.

"Come on, let's find you something to wear." Olivia grabbed Alex's hand as she led her back to her bedroom, immediately opening her closet. After some rummaging, she pulled out a pair of grey sweatpants with zippered pockets and a plain white t-shirt.

"Will these work?" Olivia handed them to Alex.

Alex immediately took them and smiled, bringing them up to her face to smell them. "Yes, they're perfect."

Olivia smiled at the gesture, admiring how cute Alex was. "Good. The bathroom up here is mostly mine. I make the boys share the one downstairs, so help yourself to anything in there, okay?"

"Will do. Thanks for helping, Olivia. You didn't have to." Alex smiled as she hugged Olivia.

"Yes I did," Olivia said, pulling back from the hug to kiss Alex gently. "You're my girlfriend, now. That's what girlfriends do."

Alex blushed as she gave Olivia a few more kisses before retreating into the bathroom to take a shower.

Olivia fried up some pancakes as Casey sat at the island chugging water and holding her head.

"Good God. No one told me being drunk had this effect on you," Casey droned.

Olivia chuckled as she flipped a pancake in the skillet. "Yeah, it's fun in the moment but there's hell to pay afterwards."

"So," Casey started, digging into the pancakes Olivia sat in front of her. "How was your evening with Alex?"

"Great, actually. Amazing, even. We kissed, danced, I made her my girlfriend. We cuddled and watched a movie, fell asleep. It was honestly perfect." Olivia flipped another pancake in the skillet.

If Olivia was looking at Casey, she would've seen the smile on her face. "She really likes you, you know. She has from the moment she met you."

Now, if Casey was looking at Olivia, she would've also seen the smile on her face. "I'm glad. I really like her too, Casey. A lot."

"Good. You two are adorable together and I'm here for it."

Olivia turned to smile at Casey, piling more pancakes on the plate. "Thanks, Casey."

"Oh, sorry about the comment on your boobs last night. I was so drunk." She shook her head in embarrassment as she stuffed her mouth full of more pancakes.

Olivia started laughing. "Hey, you're not wrong. They definitely are nice. One of my greatest assets."

"I bet Alex is gonna be all over them. She strikes me as a boob girl."

"Oh, she definitely is," Olivia agreed, flipping yet another pancake.

"I'm definitely what?" Alex said walking into the kitchen. Her hair was brushed and damp from the shower, falling perfectly past her shoulders. She was comfortably dressed in Olivia's sweatpants and t-shirt, which hung loose off of her body.

Olivia turned to look at her before immediately turning red. "Uhh, nothing cutie. Here, eat some pancakes." Olivia brought Alex a stack of pancakes and a glass of orange juice, giving her a kiss.

"No no, you're going to tell me," Alex said teasingly but sternly.

"You're a boob girl, Alex," Casey said, chugging her own glass of juice.

"I'm a what?" Alex asked, almost offended since she didn't know the context. Her eyes were flicking back and forth between Casey and Olivia.

"You prefer to look at boobs over ass," Casey replied.

Olivia was thankful they were best friends and Casey wasn't afraid to tell Alex anything; she would've died from embarrassment if she was the one to say it.

"Oh," Alex said, pouring syrup over her stack of pancakes. "Yeah, I definitely am. Not that I don't appreciate a good ass, because I do. But I definitely prefer boobs."

Olivia and Casey both turned to stare at Alex, who stopped her fork just before it entered her mouth. "What?"

Olivia smirked as she turned the stove off to pile up her own plate of pancakes. Casey just dropped her mouth open for a moment before responding. "See? Knew it."

Olivia took a seat next to Alex as she piled her pancakes with butter and syrup.

"These are so good, Liv," Alex said, stuffing her mouth full with another bite. "Thanks for making me breakfast. You didn't have to."

"Yeah I did! You gotta eat. Nothing works better for a hangover than pancakes." Olivia leaned over to give Alex a kiss before digging back into her food.

Casey sat her head in her hands, elbows on the table as she smiled at Olivia and Alex. "You two are so damn cute."

Alex and Olivia shared a look between themselves before looking at Casey and smiling.

"I can't believe our parents are really dropping in on us like this," Alex groaned. "I mean, I love them and miss them but today is not the day."

"No kidding. I feel like shit," Casey also groaned. "And I still have to go back to the dorm and shower." Casey laid her head down on the kitchen island and dramatically whined.

"I just want to crawl back into bed with Olivia," Alex pouted, wrapping her arm around Olivia's and leaning her head against her shoulder.

"Can we please tell them to not come?" Casey pleaded.

Alex sighed. "No, Case. We have to see them. They would immediately be suspicious of us, and you know it."

"Yeah, well… ugh." Casey slid off the chair to put her shoes on, instantly grabbing her head again. "God. When will this go away?"

Olivia chuckled as she spun around to hop off the chair. "Give it a few hours. Make sure you eat tons of bad food and drink lots of water." Olivia slipped a jacket on as she grabbed her keys from the key rack.

"You ladies ready?" Olivia asked.

Alex and Casey nodded as they headed out the front door, Olivia following close behind.

"Where's your car?" Alex asked.

"Right over here," Olivia smiled, unlocking the car with the key fob.

"Wow," Alex said, staring at the beautiful metallic blue paint. "This… is yours? A Mustang?"

Olivia smirked as she opened the car door for Alex. "All mine, baby."

Casey was on the driver's side looking over the car. "Where's the door?"

"Huh?" Olivia asked.

"To the backseat!" Casey exclaimed, clearly confused.

"Ah. Here." Olivia pulled her seat forward so Casey could climb in the back before getting in the car and turning it on. Looking over to Alex and smiling, she gave the engine a quick rev as the V8 purred loudly.

Alex immediately blushed and bit her lip, laying her head back against the seat. "God, you're so hot," Alex whispered, barely loud enough for her to hear.

"What was that?" Olivia asked, smirking in Alex's direction before putting the car in reverse and backing out into the street to head towards their dorm. Luckily, it was only a couple minutes drive.

"Nothing," Alex said with her own smirk, reaching her hand over and placing it on Olivia's thigh before turning slightly to look at her.

Olivia, feeling Alex's eyes on her, just smiled as she drove to the dorm.

Alex quickly turned to look back at Casey, who was laying down across the backseat, arm over her eyes. She then looked back at Olivia and slid her hand further inwards, lightly squeezing Olivia's thigh. The feeling made Olivia shift just a bit in her seat; her eyes remaining focused on the road as she continued to smile.

Carefully, Alex traced her fingertips slowly upwards to the hem of Olivia's shorts, causing Olivia to bite her lip. Alex's touch was so gentle, so erotic. She couldn't help the way it made her feel. And Alex knew it, too – last night was a good indicator that one of Olivia's spots were her thighs.

Alex continued to lightly trace her fingers along Olivia's skin until they reached the dorm. Olivia quickly pulled into a spot and got out to see Casey and Alex back inside.

"I'm going up, Lex. I'll be in the shower," Casey muttered as she drug herself through the front door of the dorm.

Olivia leaned against the wall, taking Alex's hand in hers as she smiled at her.

"I don't want you to go," Alex pouted, puffing out her bottom lip.

"I don't want to go either, cutie. But you gotta see your parents. They'll be happy to see you."

Alex smiled as she pulled Olivia into a deep embrace. "I know. Promise you'll text me?"

"You know I will." Olivia grabbed Alex's face and gave her a long kiss before breaking away to whisper something in her ear.

"Just so you know, you're in trouble for teasing me like that."

Alex playfully lifted an eyebrow at Olivia. "Oh, am I? What's my punishment?"

Olivia gave a soft chuckle as she bit her lip, looking up into Alex's deep blue eyes. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough. You're in trouble, Cabot."

With that, Olivia turned to get back into her car and head back to the townhouse.
