Danganronpa 4: Next Generation Killing!

Chapter Six: Goodbye Danganronpa!

Deadly Life Part Thirteen: Kiki and Shuichi vs Tsumugi! The End of Danganronpa?!

Argument Armament: Tsumugi Shirogane!

"This isn't the Danganronpa I envisioned!" Tsumugi shrieked.

"What you envisioned is disgusting!" Kiki growled.

"We've gained so many longtime fans!"

"This is only the first time you've done this."

"Do you realize how much I've given to this show!?"

"The fact that you put so much effort into killing people is rotten to the core!"

"The audience is gonna be pissed if there isn't a happy ending!"

"I don't care if the audience is pissed."

"Man, this debate is getting whack!"

"The fact that we need to debate the morality of this show at all is what's whack!"

"The audience isn't gonna like twists like this!"

"I don't care if the audience doesn't like the twists!"

"This is getting way too meta!"

"Why does that even matter?"

"No way you can change the world!"

"WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE REALITY!" Kiki bellowed, the force of her retort causing Tsumugi's Junko wig to fly off.

Her long blue hair revealed, Tsumugi gritted her teeth and hissed, "I'm not here for a damn lecture!"

"You're gonna get a lot worse than a lecture!" Shuichi retorted, eyes narrowed in fury.

"Hey, what about Akafuku-kun's punishment?"

"Kiki survived Sokyu's attempt to kill her."

"Preachy characters are so annoying!"

"I don't care if you or the audience find me annoying."

"Man, the audience was rooting for you!"

"Rooting for me to die?!"

"I should have had you die instead of Kaede!"

"Kaede wouldn't let this sick game fly, either!"

"Death makes the characters better!"

"Stop treating us as characters to kill off!"

"Death is the point of Danganronpa!"

"I don't want anyone to play a game where death is the point!"

"Killing Games are the best form of entertainment!"

"THE KILLING GAME IS WRONG! WE WON'T LET YOU USE OUR LIVES FOR ENTERTAINMENT!" Shuichi bellowed.

Tsumugi gritted her teeth and tugged on her jacket and blouse. As she pulled, they began to tear, causing them to fall away and reveal her normal top.

"Hope versus despair! Pick one!"

"We're sick of fighting this battle of hope and despair!" Kiki denied, only for Tsumugi to go on an unintelligible tirade.

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope! Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Hope Hope! Despair Despair!"

"Is hope and despair all you can talk about?!" Kiki challenged, frustrated by the senseless noise.

"The audience is gonna think this ending sucks!"

"I don't care if the audience thinks this ending sucks!"

"Pointless deaths because nobody participated is the worst ending ever!"

"IT'S NOT POINTLESS, OUR LIVES ARE OUR WEAPONS! WE'RE GOING TO USE OUR LIVES TO CONVINCE THE WORLD!"

Tsumugi gripped the edges of her podium as her feet started to slide towards the edges. At that point, the red skirt she was wearing began to tear. It fell to her ankles, leaving her in her standard black skirt. She stepped outside and pushed the discarded clothes behind her with her foot.

"Is Danganronpa really gonna end?"

"It should never have even begun!" Shuichi scowled at Tsumugi.

"It can't just end out of the blue like this!"

"Better for it to end now than after however many seasons you had planned for it!"

"Who cares if you all die? You're not real to the audience!"

"We're gonna convince the audience that we're real people!"

"The audience just wants you to kill each other already!"

"We refuse to kill each other anymore!"

"They want more of the Killing Games!"

"The world has had more than enough Killing Games!"

"They need that sweet closure!"

"There's no way to give a Killing Game closure!"

"Well, hopefully there's another season…"

"There won't be a next season, not as long as we're around to stop it!"

"There's no way the audience would let it end like this, right?"

"We'll convince the audience to let it end!"

"Danganronpa will never end, will it?"

"WE'LL END DANGANRONPA WITH OUR OWN HANDS!" Their eyes blazing with fiery determination, Kiki and Shuichi both raised their free hands and pointed directly at Tsumugi. "TOGETHER, WE'RE GONNA END DANGANRONPA!"

Tsumugi rested her hands against the podium. Her knees wobbled, the Mastermind having no more arguments to give.

Tsumugi hyperventilated, her hair frazzled as she stood defeated. Taking advantage of her silence, Kiki and Shuichi looked up towards the multiple screens surrounding their podiums.

"Everyone watching this!" Kiki pleaded. "If you're not our families watching to see if we're leaving this game alive, stop watching this sick show!"

"Turn off your TV screens, your tablets, your phones, whatever you're watching this on!" Shuichi implored.

Ryoma nodded. "Trust me, any excitement you might be getting from this is hell to us."

"Gonta is real! Gonta is not a fictional character whose death should be watched!"

Kirumi bowed her head. "I humbly request that you not give this any more oxygen than you already have."

"Having our memories torn away from us and being forced to kill each other has been torture for us!" Sokyu growled. "So, you all had better stop watching, you hear?!"

"Enjoying this TV show is illogical and cruel!" Keebo emphatically stated. "Do not make us go through this any longer!"

"Hahaha…" A now crazed Tsumugi giggled, lifting her head up to stare at her captives. "Like I said, it's pointless. The outside world won't let Danganronpa end. Everyone…loves Danganronpa…That's reality! Killing Game entertainment will continue forever-!" A soft sound echoed in Tsumugi's ears. "Huh?" She looked up, eyes widening at the sight of the miniature screens disappearing one-by-one. "What…?"

Everyone looked up with amazed smiles at the sight of their hope being answered. "They're all…" Kirumi gasped. "They're all turning off…"

"Everyone's…stopped watching…?" Gonta uttered.

Surely enough, every screen, save for a handful shut completely down. "…I'm relieved." Shuichi sighed, his lips stretching into a grin.

"H-Huh…?" Tsumugi gaped. "Why? What is this?"

"…The world made its decision." Kiki stated. "The audience chose not to give Danganronpa attention anymore…They rejected this Killing Game."

"Wh-What!?"

"Serves you right!" Sokyu shot back. "That's what you get for treating us like toys!"

"Hold on! I-Is that…really okay!? Danganronpa is going to end? The Killing Game full of tense standoffs and backstabbings among friends…It's just going to abruptly end on the revival's very first season? Is that really okay?"

"The audience seems to think so…" Ryoma concluded. "Seems to me like the only ones left watching are our loved ones…and something tells me they're not watching for the entertainment value."

"Huh?"

Tsumugi was stuck speechless as she saw all her hard work come crashing down around her. Before she could say anything more, Kiki spoke.

"Your words can't reach them anymore." Her eyes narrowed and she pointed at Tsumugi. "You didn't appreciate us…and it looks like you didn't appreciate what made us unique souls that could never be replaced!"

Shuichi nodded. "No one wants you anymore! No one wants to hear your sick, twisted stories anymore!"

Tsumugi sighed, hanging her head. "…It's over…this is it…it's finished…" Her lips stretched into a sad smile, and she let out a defeated giggle. "It really…is the end, isn't it?"

"So what are you going to do now, Tsumugi?" Keebo questioned. "Now that it's all over, there's no need to drag this out. Just let us leave in peace, and-"

"What a half-assed ending." Monokuma interrupted. "This is no way to end Danganronpa."

"No, it needs to end with a punishment…at the very least." Tsumugi grinned. "After all, every Killing Game before this one has ended with the Mastermind being executed, and this should be no different. My plan was such a flawless copy, it even failed right at the end…"

"You…" Kiki paled. "You're seriously going to just go and kill yourself?!"

"I worked hard to get this up and running and now it's all over…Well, that's fine…If this is a world without Killing Games now…I don't want to be a part of it. I have no interest in a world without Danganronpa. So I'll at least be able to hold my head up high as a cosplaycat criminal, right?"

"Tsumugi…" Kiki averted her eyes, unable to watch the impending death of one she used to call a friend. You're…you've lost all sanity, haven't you…?

"Alright, Monokuma. You know what to do, right?"

"LET'S GIVE IT EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT! IT'S PUNISHMENT TI-"

At that moment, Monokuma's eye dimmed. His head hung over, as though he was just knocked out.

"What?" Shuichi gasped.

Before they could contemplate anything further, a loud groaning sound echoed from behind them. They turned, eyes widening at the sight of the elevator walls retracting. Standing on the platform was a battalion of police officers.

"What?!" Tsumugi gasped. "How did you all get in here! What the…EEK!"

Tsumugi was instantly tackled to the ground. Stepping out of their podiums, they crowded around the Mastermind. Cuffing her was a thin woman with long hair braided into twin tails.

"Gotcha ya degenerate!" The officer growled.

"Nee he he!" Another, shorter officer with short, dark purple hair giggled, holding the currently inactive Monokuma in his arms. "Didn't expect to see us, did you, Shirogane?"

"Wh-What's happening…?!" Tsumugi demanded, forced onto her knees.

"Tsumugi Shirogane, for multiple counts of kidnapping and murder, you are under arrest."

"W-Who dares to arrest me?! Who are you?!"

A pair of soft footsteps approached, causing the group to turn their eyes to the approaching figure. A slender woman, she wore red-rimmed glasses over her eyes. Her short brown hair looked slightly frazzled, no doubt from her many hours of working on the case.

"You want to know who I am? Fine, I'll tell you. DSC Number 885, professional detective assigned to this rescue mission, and honorary sister to one Kyoko Kirigiri…"

Tsumugi paled, gaping at the woman as she kneeled before her. "I-It can't be…!"

The detective grinned victoriously. Her voice had a beautiful sing-song tone, as if mocking Tsumugi for her failure.

"Yui Samidare. And by kidnapping my little sister Kyoko's daughter, along with all your other victims…you have the special privilege of being the criminal I've been most eager to put away." Standing up, she glanced over to the man and woman nearby. "Oma, Chabashira, take her away."

They watched as Tsumugi gritted her teeth, led away by Kokichi and Tenko. Yui watched with satisfaction at the defeated look in the Mastermind's eyes before Kiki's hesitant voice caught her attention.

"Ano…excuse me…" Kiki bit her lip. "What's…what's going to happen to us…?"

Yui smiled softly and approached Kiki. Resting her hands on her shoulders, she assured the nervous girl "What's going to happen is, Mikan over here is going to treat your injuries, then we're going to bring you all home."

Kiki gasped, happy tears trickling down her cheeks. "We…we get to go home…? We're…we're getting out of here?"

"That's right, Kiki…the nightmare is over. You're going to see your Mom and Dad again, I promise."

At that, Kiki broke down. Her knees buckled, forcing Yui to catch her before she fell. She smiled, rubbing the girl's heaving back with a maternal touch.

"Home…we're…we're going home…!"

"It's okay…give it a good cry…we'll leave whenever you're ready."

Mikan nodded. "The rest of you, please come over here so I can examine you all for injuries and give you treatment. I'll treat Kiki when she's emotionally composed."

Shuichi nodded and walked over to Mikan with the others in tow. As Mikan began to examine them one-by-one, he looked over towards Kiki. He couldn't help but smile at the touching scene between her and Yui.

It's finally over…Kiki…our suffering is finally over…!

Chapter Six: End!

"…Yui…?!" Kyoko sniffled, wiping the shocked, happy tears from her eyes. "Yui…Yui's…alive…?"

Makoto smiled. "Not only that, it looks like she's the detective assigned to her case."

"Better late than never, I suppose…" Maki sighed.

"So…" Koto turned expectantly to his parents. "Kiki's finally coming home…?"

Makoto nodded. "That's right…Kiki's finally gonna come home soon…and we need to make sure this house is ready to welcome her."

"I call cleaning duty on her room!" Kiri volunteered and ran off, causing Koto to pout.

"No fair, Kiri! I want to get Kiki's room ready for her!" Koto pouted and gave chase.

Mokubo meanwhile sweatdropped. "Isn't it a struggle to get them to clean their own rooms?"

Makoto chuckled, scratching his cheek. "They're just excited to see their sister again…just like you are too, right, Moku?"

Mokubo's cheeks turned pink in silent admission.

"I thought so." Makoto grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. "Come on, why don't we see how else we can get the house ready to welcome your older sister home?"

Kyoko nodded. "Go with your father, Mokubo. I'll call Chief Ishimaru and ask what the timetable is for Kiki's return."

Mokubo nodded and obediently followed his father. Maki stood up and dusted off her skirt.

"In that case, this is probably a good time for me to pick up Haruki from your parents. I owe them for babysitting while we've been watching this."

"Of course." Kyoko smiled. "Go pick up your daughter."

With that, Maki stood up and walked out of the living room. Now alone, Kyoko couldn't help the excited grin on her face as she scrolled through her phone's contacts and tapped on one of the icons. She held it up to her hear, her heart thumping with anticipation until it finally picked up.
