2008 Silena's Bed, Aphrodite Cabin, Camp Half-blood, New York
If anyone (outside the Aphrodite cabin Drew!) asked Silena what she thought about Thalia, well, she'd list off adjectives.
Brave
Selfless
Loyal
Although these were all before she'd actually, you know, met Thalia as a person. Every half-blood knew about Thalia, and the camp legend that she was part of.
Thalia, the brave selfless girl, who could actually stand toe to toe against the worst of the underworld, sacrificed herself for her friends, and was an actual hero. Even her friends were awesome, and you could judge a lot about people by their friends.
Luke the best swordsman camp had ever seen in like millena(and even if he was rebelling, that was still a strong look, half the cabin were devastated when Luke turned against camp, the other half either joined him or weren't into that).
Annabeth - the girl that was directly involved in the last two massive quests in camp, the 'oldest' camper (seven years in camp made her the 'oldest' even if she was a year younger than Selina), even if she was bossy and hella opinionated.
And Grover, who was, kinda cute in a dorkish way, she guessed.
Once Thalia had come back, or whatever the right word was for a girl that was no longer a tree, everyone (Selina included) kinda expected some ideal camper, straight out of the Iliad or something, like a female version of Heracles or Achilles.
Sure, she was a great girl, always said hello to Silena and didn't look at the Aphrodite girls like they were all vapid airheads. That put her above almost all other campers Silena had ever met.
Reality always disappointed, that's what you learned and guarded against in Aphrodite cabin.
Your first boyfriend/girlfriend was usually gone within a few months, but even then you never cried as much as you did for your first, because teenage boys were the worst. Number two and three were very close by. Silena hadn't quite figured out if quick rebounds were just an Aphrodite thing, or a teenage thing. They still hurt, but nowhere near as much as the first, even if they lasted much much longer.
She shook her head. Now was not the time to be thinking about boys, she was brooding about how un-awesome Thalia was turning out to be. Time and a place Beauregard!
Thalia was, well, a kinda normal girl. She was friendly, but not super-friendly with everyone in camp. She was OK on the pegasi - the few times Silena had actually seen her on one - and she really wasn't that good at archery or on the climbing wall, but wasn't so bad that it was anything special like really really bad, just normal bad.
Great, even her own head wasn't making sense anymore.
Silena sighed. She'd been a mess the past week. Well this is what she got for breaking up with Mark. It didn't matter that he was the one to break up with her, she was the girl, and an Aphrodite kid, so any breakup was always her fault. Boys plus camp plus ADHD plus whatever-else really screwed with your head, Silena found out.
But she couldn't stop thinking about him, or boys in general, or relationships, even though she was supposed to be thinking about Thalia.
"Stupid boys." She grumbled. Just at that moment, the cabin door opened
A/N: Quick oneshot about Silena pre-relationship with Charles Beckendorf, just to start the ball rolling on some deeper characterisations of Aphrodite girls (who really really need some character development, along with most other campers)
