After knowing of the danger Remnant is about to face due to the revelation at the meeting, Ruby couldn't help but wait impatiently as the God Eaters got their gear together. While she understood that the forces being deployed need to properly set up for what could be considered an Expedition, the more she had to wait was more time for the Aragami to arrive on Remnant and destroy everything the Grimm couldn't. In her mind, she wanted them to hurry up and get on with the operation to rescue her home from the Devouring monsters.
However, she can't exactly tell them to hurry up when it was clear that Isaac Feldman, the Director of the Fenrir Intelligence Division, was calling the shots, so if the God Eaters were to move out on his order, they will do so. Ruby knows that for the duration of the campaign against the Aragami on Remnant, she and Team RWBY will have to support the God Eaters, even if that means they can no longer go out on the field as active fighters. However, if she was given the option to become one of the God Eaters, if only to fight back on her home turf, she would take it without a doubt in her mind.
Just as she had psyched herself up, the elevator entranced opened up to reveal the entirety of both Blood and Cradle Units, as well as Director Feldman, Fran and the mothers Raven and Summer, all geared up to investigate the Aragami insurgence. Alongside them were her teammates, who had their own thoughts on the matter of the Aragami arriving at Remnant as well as the need to get out and fight to defend their homes. Once they all got together, Raven cycled Omen's blades as she moved forward, looking back as she spoke out to the assembled group of Huntresses and God Eaters.
"The moment we cross over, we'll be at the Emerald Forest," she announced. "Shigure will be waiting for us on the other side, and we can all make our way over to Beacon Academy from there."
"Wait, we're going to the forest," Kota questioned the elder Branwen. "Why couldn't we have shown up at a town or this academy you were talking about?"
"Think about it for a minute, you moron," Alisa scolds the 1st Unit Captain. "How would the public think if they saw a bunch of armed God Eaters emerging from the portal Raven makes with her weapon. Showing up in the wilds is the best option as it allows unwanted attention."
"Yeah, but wouldn't it be better if we just show up at Beacon right off the bat."
"Now that he brought it up, he's right," Yang brings up, looking at her mom who only sighs out. "Why can't we just go to Beacon now?"
"As much as you bring up some good points, I'm afraid that isn't going to happen." Bringing up her blade, she looks at the group with a tired look on her face. "By meeting up with Shigure, we can make our way to the Academy by foot. Plus, I don't want to see that fool's face right off the bat when we get to Remnant."
"You must seriously not like Professor Ozpin," Ruby mutters out, causing Elena to shrug in response.
"Considering the guy completely lost any and all trust Mom had, it makes sense for her to go the scenic route," she points out to her sister. "Plus, this could give us a better grasp on whether or not the Aragami showed up."
"Agreed," Feldman speaks up, adjusting his gloves before getting to business. "If Raven believes that this is the best course of action, then we shall go by her judgment. Branwen, is there anything else we should know of in the meantime?"
"Well, it's pretty obvious that we'll garner the attention of the Grimm once we arrive, but due to our struggles against the Aragami, they'll be nothing but a minor nuisance."
"Right… plus they don't even compare to how scary Dyaus Pita is," Ruby murmered under her breath, with only Blake and Summer hearing her.
"Aside from them, it should be a smooth walk over to Beacon Academy." Sighing, she draws out the familiar blade out of Omen's sheath, concentrating her mind before addressing the Intelligence Director. "Also, if you have any more questions and/or concerns about the world of Remnant, Ozpin will answer them directly, and don't let him run away from the more obvious topics."
"Understood," Feldman acknowledged, making Glynda feel uncomfortable around the man. "Now then, shall we proceed?"
Without missing a beat, Raven swiped the blade through the air with her katana, creating the portal through the mix of the blade's Dust properties alongside her semblance. With their one-way access to Remnant now made, she sheathed her weapon before grabbing the God Arc specifically made for me, getting a feel of the man made Aragami's weight in her arm in the process. Nodding to herself, she turned back to face the group one more time before heading through it, crossing over to Remnant in an instant.
"Okay, that is still kind of freaky that she's able to do that," Kota comments, only to be slapped in the back of the head by Alisa. "Ow, what was that for?"
"Being an idiot for one," replied the Cradle God Eater as she became serious, gripping her God Arc by the handle. "Regardless of how the method appears, we have a means of transportation to the world of Remnant. Any bickering we hold now means more time for the Nova to regain its strength."
"Yeah, and we've already wasted enough time already," Soma concludes. "Let's get this over with, and take out the Nova… once and for all."
Nodding in agreement, the members of Cradle, those that made up the 1st Unit three years ago, steeled themselves before entering the portal, leaving no trace of their existence behind. It wasn't long before Elena and the Blood Special Forces followed after them, already geared to stop another Devouring Apocalypse, as well as Director Feldman and Fran as they are the current chain of command for the expedition. Those that were left were the visitors from Remnant as Ruby gulped whatever saliva built up in her mouth before turning to her team.
"Well, are we ready for this," she asked the girls in front of her. "Cause if we are, and we encounter the Aragami…"
"Ruby, whatever you have to say, it can wait until we see them in Remnant," Weiss comments. "I can't believe I'm about to say this, but as of this moment… the minute we see one of those monsters like Dyaus Pita on our home… the days of being Huntsmen are over… and we may need to adapt in order to fight."
"Yeah, and you can bet we're not going to sit on our asses the whole time," Yang added in a serious tone, crossing her arms. "If we have to in order to fight the Aragami, we'll become God Eaters Ourselves…"
"Even though we have our Semblances and Aura, it will not be enough to face the coming monsters," Blake joins in on the conversation. "They will most likely adapt and counter them should we face them head on."
"Okay then, I guess that is our answer." Holstering her bag, she faced the portal once more, gazing at a smiling team RWBY before smiling. "Time to go home, everyone. Let's do this."
"YEAH," the girls shouted in unison before entering through the gateway to Remnant, leaving behind an amused Summer and Raven while Glynda groaned in frustration.
"Those girls are going to be such a problem once they become God Eaters," was all that she muttered before following along as the elder Rose faced the Branwen Matriarch.
"I guess they got their resolve now," the ex-Marduk spoke up. "You think we'll be able to make it through this?"
"We will, and let's not forget that we can fight the Aragami already," Raven points out, knowing that she herself is now a God Eater alongside Summer's condition. "Besides, it was only a matter of time until we'll face them on Remnant. I mean, Soma did kill a Mukuro Kyuubi while we were busy rescuing you."
"I honestly hope those girls behave themselves eventually."
Chuckling, the Branwen woman placed her hand on Summer's shoulder before assuring her. "Relax, they have each other and the God Eaters. They'll be fine."
Reluctantly agreeing with her, the former Aragami and the Bandit Queen turned to face the entrance-way one more time, steeling themselves to face whatever will come on Remnant. Taking a look at the Fenrir Far East Branch one more time, the two mothers mentally said their farewells before entering through the portal. With the last of the travellers now gone from the surface of the collapsed Earth, the portal closed itself, and further travel to Remnant is now non-existent.
The moment they have all stepped out of the portal, the assembled group of God Eaters, Huntresses and Fenrir personnel were greeted with the sight of the Emerald Forest, specifically the spot where RWBY had their stand against the Marduk and Tyrian Callows. Scorched earth and blast debris was all that were left around the tree foliage as the girls remembered their confrontation with both Summer's Aragami form as well as the psychotic scorpion faunas. Just the mere thought of what happened here made the ex-Aragami's ears to lower since this was where she had regained control for a brief moment.
"Out of all the places of the Emerald Forest to come back to, this is the spot," Weiss comments, crossing her arms. "I was hoping it would be at the ruins, not where we had to fight for our lives…"
"Uh, we did fight for our lives," Blake deadpans, walking passed the Schnee Heiress. "Initiation, against a giant Nevermore?"
"Honestly, after seeing the likes of Dyaus Pita back in their world… none of the Grimm frighten me anymore…"
Raven could only chuckle when she heard the platinum blonde say that before looking up to the sky, humming in thought over the time of day before speaking up. "Well, from how the sun is positioned, I'd say it is either near or passed noon. We'll meet up with Shigure very soon."
"Considering your contact," she heard Fran speak up. "How trustworthy can he be towards us?"
"Seeing as I am now a part of Fenrir's God Eaters, I'd say he'll trust you. He knows my secrets as well as the threat of the Aragami. So long as I'm with you, he'll be fine with the leadership… so long as they hold a backbone." She then looked at Feldman before smirking. "And considering the type of leader you are, Director, Shigure will follow, no questions asked."
"And let me guess, you also informed him of the secrets Ozpin wants to keep hidden," she heard Glynda retort, causing her to shrug while the combat instructor groans out. "Of all the people, why is it you who became the Spring Maiden."
"Because out of everyone I knew, Raven was the most qualified badass I had the pleasure of working with," a male voice echoed from behind, causing everyone to turn to see the smirking Shigure as he strolled up to them all. "And besides, she is more trusting than that fool you call a Headmaster."
"And you're Shigure Rangetsu, I take it," Feldman questions the swordsman, getting a nod in affirmation before offering a hand. "Director Isaac Feldman, Fenrir Intelligence. From what I heard; you informed our mutual acquaintance of the Marduk's appearance some time ago."
"Yeah, more or less. Though, it was quite a shock to see the damn thing up close." He then bowed to Summer, knowing that she was the monster in question. "No offense."
"Regardless, you have agreed to escort us to this Beacon Academy simply due to your connection with Raven. Despite any future differences, I look forward to working together."
"Yeah, right…" reluctantly, Raven's acquaintance shook the Director's hand before speaking up. "And I'm gonna take a guess that you learned the secrets Raven knows about? About the Maidens?"
"I have, but the main priority right now is assessing the Aragami threat. Regardless of the situation, I will use my full authority to combat both direct and indirect threats."
Surprised by Feldmann's decree, Shigure couldn't help but chuckle before looking at Raven. "I can see why you trust him and these Fenrir people." Keeping the smirk, the man pointed back with his thumb as he once again spoke to the director. "Beacon Academy lies that way, but it is quite a walk. Luckily, anyone that went to that school knows these woods' layouts, as well as various scouts and cutthroats. I'll get you there no problem."
Nodding to the man, Isaac, the God Eaters and the Huntresses all followed Raven's contact as they made their way to the direction of Beacon Academy, keeping an eye out for any surprise Grimm attacks. While Operation: PACKBREAKER had gotten rid of the vast majority of the Grimm in Mountain Glenn, from what Soma could remember about Salem, she wouldn't send All of her monsters after the Marduk. He was no later joined by Lindow and Elena, who both kept a lookout for any surprise attacks from out of the Emerald Forest foliage.
"You have that suspicion too," he looked over to the Blood Captain, whose Aragami-infected hand held a tight grip on her Kurogane. "Someone out there is watching us… and I don't like it."
"Doesn't feel monstrous, from what I could tell," Lindow adds in, "Thoughts?"
"Perhaps those extremists White Fang members we heard about." Frowning, the girl also thought about General Ironwood and the Atlesian forces. "Or it could be Metaldick and his entourage of soldiers… That man hated the fact I took command of his army when up against the Marduk."
"Doubt it, from how he was back at the abandoned lab we went to," Soma pitches in. "I got the feeling he learned the lesson the hard way, whether he wanted it or not."
"Still doesn't excuse the fact he sent a ground team to their deaths." Hearing a frown, Lindow turned to face Summer who had her ears lowered in shame. "Hey, we're not blaming you, Summer. You weren't exactly in control thanks to your inner Aragami… I'm just surprised that you managed to last 10 years fighting it."
"She is Supermom, after all," Yang pipes up, getting a giggle from her sister and a chuckle from Raven and Shigure. "Nothing would keep her down."
"Normally, I would have to disagree, but with her fighting spirit against the Marduk, she is one unique human… well, now Aragami-infected human," Soma concludes, "She is, after all, the first non-God Eater who became an Aragami and came back alive."
"But the mystery remains," Ciel brings up, walking up to the group with her own thoughts. "How is it that Summer Rose, a human of this world, become Remnant's first Aragami?"
"Perhaps when I crossed over and back the first time, dropping Elena off to Magnolia Compass, I unknowingly brought the Oracle Cells back to Remnant," Raven informs her. "From what I was told, it has taken over the oxygen supply job from nature."
"And when it came over, it went from a gaseous state to a solid state, forming a core of its own and waited for the opportunity."
"As much as I want to hear your thoughts on the subject," Blake cuts in, her eyes narrowing before drawing out Gamble Shroud. "We have company… A small ambush group…"
With that being stated, the Huntresses and God Eaters got their weapons out in ranged mode before surrounding Feldmann, keeping the Fenrir Director guarded as they observed the foliage around them. True to the faunas' words, the leaves and grass began to erratically move all around them, and the sounds of footsteps echoed out in the horizon. After a tense minute of silence, the source of the disturbance was revealed to the group from Fenrir's Far East Branch, and Blake was horrified of who she saw.
A group of men and woman appeared out of the forest foliage, wearing the uniform of the White Fang extremist group, complete with the metal masks resembling the Grimm's facial bone armor. Along with them was a man she never wanted to see so soon, sporting a black suit with a red undershirt while bearing a katana with a trigger function; a wilting rose appearing on the back of his jacket. The man smirked as he laid eyes on the God Eaters and the Remnant natives before glancing over to the cat faunas.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't my darling love Blake," the man spoke up, chuckling as he and his men came closer. "You had quite the nerve disappearing on us when we're about to make a true change."
"Adam," the girl muttered in fear, backing away slightly. "What are you doing here?"
"Have you forgotten, my love, I lead the local branch of our brothers and sisters, fighting to annihilate the plague that is the human race." He saw her move further back when he called her 'love' before frowning. "Which begs the questions… why did you forsake our cause and joined with the very humans we sought to destroy."
"Our cause? Don't you mean Your cause, Adam," the man glared at Raven who glared right back. "The Fang was meant to fight for Equality, and yet you desire death and destruction. You're no different from your Brutes."
"Atriox and his Pack were welcome additions to the Fang, and they were key in destroying various villages that got in our way."
+ "That isn't what I had wanted Adam," Blake pleaded. "The White Fang was to be a symbol of faunas and human equality… but you and Sienna twisted that dream into something else, something that I can never get behind. That is why I left, because I don't want any more senseless violence."
"Senseless? SENSELESS?" Growling, the White Fang leader drew out his blade before pointing it at the group. "OUR CAUSE IS NOT SENSELESS, BLAKE. WE WILL BE THE SUPREME RULERS OF REMNANT ONCE ALL OF HUMANITY IS WIPED OUT." He then eventually calmed down before speaking out once more. "The Academies, the Councils, the SDC… all of them will perish at the hands of their superiors."
"By superiors, don't you mean extremists such as yourselves," Elena finally cuts in, brandishing her God Arc as she spoke to Adam. "I hate to break it to you, but you're not even a fraction of superiority. At best… you're a brat, who is clinging into what delusion your mind made up to justify your actions."
As soon as her words left her mouth, the men under Adam's command had aimed their rifles at the group of Huntresses and the God Eaters, with the more frantic inching their fingers closing in on the triggers. Already, the situation became more tense as the defenders got into a position meant to protect Feldmann, and Elena and Raven got their respective God Arcs in Blade Modes and pointed towards the extremists. Blake, after seeing Adam acting this way and even supporting the extremist Brutes lead by Atriox, had a shocked expression as she backed into Feldmann, to which the Fenrir Intelligence Director took to stand in front of her, glaring at the redheaded Bull Faunas for getting in the way.
Just as the tense atmosphere got too intoxicating, it shifted as one of the White Fang members was suddenly yanked down onto the ground before being pulled into the Foliage, screaming his lungs out and alerting the others. Ruby and the other Huntresses, gasping over the sight, began to think of what Grimm would cause this sort of strike, only to come up with nothing. Raven, having spent enough time with the Far East Branch and looking into the NORN Database Archives, frowned as a mental image of an unusual Aragami came to mind, before looking at Blood and Cradle reaching the same conclusion.
"The fuck," they heard one of the extremists curse out. "What could have done this?"
He couldn't hear the answer in time as he fell victim to the same strike, falling onto his back before being dragged back into the wood screaming and firing his pulse rifle. After a few seconds, that very same member screamed his last before being cut off a bone crunching sound, to which the rifle was flung back out with a severed, bleeding arm. Adam, believing it to be a Grimm attack, tensed as a roar unfamiliar to him echoed out, causing the God Eaters to prime their God Arcs towards the source.
It was then that the beast responsible came out of the foliage, appearing similar to the Arda Nova's Goddess half coated in a mix of blue flesh and cyberware came out to the open, roaring once again. The God Eaters immediately recognized it as the Tsukuyomi Deusphage, and the monster tossed the corpses of the two White Fang members onto the ground, each one with wounds unique and inflicted by the humanoid monstrosity. The Aragami then roared out once again, right before lunging its arms at another unsuspecting extremist, puncturing through the man's aura and gouging his heart out.
"The hell… what is that thing," another grunt questioned, watching their comrade die easily and their fear overtook them.
"Whatever it is… it is not a normal Grimm," Adam sneered out, getting into his stance as the Tsukuyomi flung its latest kill out of its arm. "Regardless, it will die for interfering with our business." Taking a deep breath, the leader of the assembled glared at the Aragami through his mask before giving out one single word.
"Men… FIRE!"
His forces, having no choice but to obey the extremist leader, screamed their lungs out as they unleashed a volley of Dust round onto the Deusphage, causing the beast to retaliate and strike back at them. One by one, the Tsukuyomi roars out before lashing its arms out, puncturing through several of Adam's men and striking them down. One man screamed for his life as he kept firing at the monster, only for it to grip him by his arms and yanking him into the air and pleaded for his life. His pleas never came as the monster pulled him slowly, and his screams only got higher before he was ripped in half, scaring the remaining forces and the Huntresses as the Aragami tossed the corpse halves aside.
Those that remained realized it was a losing battle, and have decided to abandon the attack and run away back into the woods, only for their screams to echo out before being cut off by roars of the Ogretails. Angered over the loss of his men, Adam growls before lashing out at the Tsukuyomi, swinging Wilt at its body on the hopes of cutting through its flesh. His hopes were broken as his blade bounced off of the Aragami's body, and just as he saw it rear its arm to attack him, bullets impacted and pierced through it and making it back away.
"Lesson one, Bullshit," he growled as he heard Elena speak out, seeing her God Arc's gun smoking as she smirked. "Never engage an Aragami with an ordinary weapon."
"Don't speak as if you know," he spat out, taking another swing at the Tsukuyomi, only for it to parry it away and making him angrier. "IT'S JUST ANOTHER BEAST THAT'LL DIE FOR OUR CAUSE!"
"Are you dense as well?" Firing another Blast Round at the Tsukuyomi, she glared at the White Fang leader as the beast roared out in pain. "In case you haven't realized, your world is now under threat to the Aragami." Hearing it roar, she shifted her God Arc back to her blade before slicing its arm back before continuing. "So how about you get off your fucking high horse, and let the professionals handle Tsukuyomi."
Growling in anger, the Bull Faunas brought Blush out of his waist before aiming it at the seasoned Blood Captain, only for the Tsukuyomi Aragami to smash his arm down and causing him to scream in pain. Seeing the bigger threat in the God Eaters, the Deusphage lashed its arms at the assembled fighters, only for Elena and Raven to parry them back and rushing towards the monster. Seeing them go up against them, Summer was about to join on, only to be held back by Glynda who had a scared expression on her face.
"Summer, don't do it," she pleaded to her. "You've done enough fighting… please, I don't want STRQ to lose you again…"
The Ex-Marduk, shocked to hear her friend speak her mind, smiled as she placed her hand on her shoulder as she spoke. "Glynda… I'm done fighting as a Huntress…" turning to face the battle as the other God Eaters joined her partner and Elena, her eyes narrowed as a new instinct came in being: to fight her enemies as an Aragami as she told the Beacon Headmistress. "I'm going to fight… to protect what I have now…"
With her resolve set, the Ex-Aragami woman rushed in to the battle, roaring as her forearms mutated into the Marduk's armored gauntlets before throwing molten flames towards the Deusphage. The attack took both the Aragami and the God Eaters by surprise as the beast roared out, all the while Summer had a smirk before running at it, sending a jab in its face enhanced by the gauntlet's flames and pushing it further back. Grinning, Elena was about to jump in on the assault, only for Adam to swing Wilt at her.
"You will not take this away from me," he spat out, causing the girl to frown as he got in his stance. "All of you… Humans and those against us will die…"
"ADAM, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS," he heard Blake plea out, only to his mouth to sneer in disgust. "JUST LET THE GOD EATERS—"
"AND YOU STAY OUT OF THIS!" seeing her reel back, the White Fang Leader kept his gaze on the Blood Captain. "I will do what is necessary to ensure the Faunas reign supreme… even if I have to destroy everything… and everyone you love and care about."
Blake was shocked to hear the man say that as he engaged Elena in a duel for supremecy, swinging Wilt at the girl he believes stand in his way. The fight was difficult enough with the Tsukuyomi running rampant and Ogretails still out in the woods, but Adam's declaration had thrown a wrench in ending the battle against the Aragami. Looking back at Feldmann, surrounded by Nana, Julius and Ciel, the girl grits her teeth before shouting out to them.
"GUYS, KEEP THE DIRECTOR, FRAN AND THE HUNTRESSES SAFE," she orders out, blocking out the faunas' blade before focusing on the ones engaging the Tsukuyomi. "AYANE, YOUR IN CHARGE OF MY BLOOD UNIT ENGAGING THAT BASTARD!"
"What, you're going to make me in charge of a unit," Ayane retorts with a smirk, ducking from the Tsukuyomi's arm before firing at it with her God Arc. "You better pay me back with a drink on Lindow's tab when we get back."
Chuckling, the Blood Captain regained her focus on the fight against Adam as the Cradle Founder, using her experience in fighting Aragami for three years, led those engaging it with order fitting the two units. Avoiding the Aragami's attacks, Lindow and Livie, under Ayane's Guidance, had shifted their God Arcs into their respective gun forms before opening fire on the Deusphage's halo, causing it to roar out before making it unleash a focused blast on the offending gunners, only for them to jump out of the way and leaving it open to their assault. It had also left itself open as the beast felt blows from both the back of the head and its torso from Summer and Romeo respectively.
Just as it was about to retaliate, Raven had struck its face with the blade of her God Arc, causing it to shriek out in pain before throwing its arms at her. She was able to bring her shield up in time for the attacks to hit her, but she winced at the strength the Aragami possessed. The beast then lashed again, only this time using its arm to trip her up and make her lose her guard, leaving her vulnerable for its arm to slam down on her. Its strike never connected as Summer jumped in and grabbed its offending limb. That only angered the Aragami as it lashed its remaining arm at the Ex-Marduk, causing her to freeze as time slowed down.
"Remember…" she heard, looking to the side to the Marduk she once was as it spoke. "Aragami Devours… Aragami Adapt… Aragami Evolves… By Devouring… we evolve into something far stronger… and you have DEVOURED."
She then remembered her encounter with Dyaus Pita, and how she had absorbed its core, taking it into her very being. As time moved forward, the Ex-Marduk growl as her back ruptured before bursting, with wings from the Dyaus Pita erupting before blocking her and Raven from the Tsukuyomi's attack. Both women were shocked over this, before smirking as Summer used the bladed wings to tear the Deusphage's arm off and allowing the two STRQ members to back away.
"So… wings, huh," Raven commented before smirking. "What's next, fox tails?"
"Don't push it," Summer retorts with a smirk of her own. "It's already weird enough having these around." She then felt the wings be absorbed into her back before chuckling. "But I know when to bring them back now."
Hearing the monster roar again, the two women got themselves ready as they faced off against the Deusphage. Meanwhile, Elena was keeping Adam busy as she clashed blades with the deranged Bull Faunas, keeping him busy and cause him to lose his energy and become sloppy. Despite the plan, she had to admit he was a skilled swordsman, utilizing quick strikes through the Iaido style. Regardless, she kept up with him enough as she met him blow to blow with her God Arc blade.
"Foolish human," she heard him as she blocked and parried his attacks, watching as Wilt and his hair glowed in resonance to the blades clashing. "What can you hope to accomplish when faced against your Better?"
"Better? Don't you mean 'lesser,'" she taunted, trading the blows with the White Fang Commander. "Hate to break it to you, but you're fighting against someone who Stopped an Apocalypse. You think you're better than me?" Blocking another strike from the faunas, she twisted her weapon as the gun part pointed at him before firing a single Blast Round, pushing him back as she finishes. "How about you quit deluding yourself and realize that you've lost. Better yet, why not try killing a World Closer with that little stick of yours and come back to challenge me again."
"You… you fucking… BITCH!"
Angered by the God Eater's remarks, he had unleashed his Semblance Moonslice and sent it her way, causing Blake to scream out to Elena in fear. However, at the last possible second, Elena tapped into her Blood Power and sliced it apart with Vampiric Blade, severing Adam's attack and making it miss her and collide with the surface behind her. The faunas was shocked to witness a human, a being that should grovel at his feet, slice through his most powerful move with ease before screaming his lungs before re-engaging the seasoned Fenrir veteran.
Back with the Tsukuyomi, the monster was roaring in defiance as it flung its arms and fired its beam from its halo in a vain attempt to kill and Devour the God Eaters, but thanks to Ayane's leadership, the Aragami was on its last legs. It's Halo, broken from Raven's God Arc and Summer's newly acquired Blade Wings; its arm bonds destroyed by Lindow and Gilbert's strikes with added support from Alisa and Soma and its legs shattered by Livie and Romeo's blades with added fire from Julius. Regardless of its predicament, the Deusphage kept struggling to kill its prey as they broke it down little by little, with Summer dropkicking it down on its back with her Oracle Cells infused legs.
Everyone was panting as the threat was over, followed by Elena finishing her battle by knocking Adam back on a tree. Growling, he got off the wooden pillar before exhaustingly walking towards the God Eaters, with Elena priming her God Arc back to its blade mode as he approached. Groaning from his injuries, the extremist leader took back the discarded Wilt before raising it, pointing it towards the humans.
"Do not… think this is over…" he spat out, unaware of the Tsukuyomi moving as he gazed into everyone's eyes. "This battle… is only a mere setback… to the glorious reign of the Faunas Race… And once I kill you… I will break the human race until they are Extinct." He then gazed at Blake, who slowly backed away further as he snickered. "Once they are all gone… I will destroy everyone you loved, Blake. Your father… your mother… hell, even that whore you call a partner… EVERYONE WILL DIE, AND YOU… WILL… BELONG… TO ME—"
Before he could finish his thoughts, Adam felt a sudden pain spike erupting from his stomach, looking down to see the broken Tsukuyomi's arm impaled through his body. Before he could comprehend the situation, the Aragami roars out before removing its limb out of his stomach before impaling his head and flinging his body off of it. Watching his corpse crash onto the surface, the Deusphage roars out one last time until a Devour attack courtesy of Ayane ended its left, with the Artificial Aragami withdrawing with the core in its mouth.
"Well, that was a thing," Ayane commented, looking at Blake who stared at Adam's corpse in horror before walking over. "Look, I'm probably not the best person to say this, but if he hadn't been killed by that Aragami… he would have been killed by something else… something worse than A Deusphage—"
"He wasn't always like this," she heard the cat faunas speak up. "He was a firm believer in Equality at first. When he killed for the first time… it was an accident. My father reprimanded him, but Sienna praised him for protecting the faunas. Little did I know that this would spiral out until the accidents stopped being accidents… He became something I can no longer recognize."
"He lived as a monster… but I think deep down, he still cared for the faunas," Elena silently stated, walking over to his corpse and laid him down properly, arms over his chest. "He just lost his way to the very end. Perhaps, if he had people that actually cared enough to stop him from getting worse… he would have turned out for the worst." She then turned to face Blake. "Perhaps… he needed You to stop him."
Her words let Blake gasp out before tearing up, collapsing onto her knees and crying out to the Adam she used to know, muttering apologies as she wept. Everyone else gave their form of condolences to the faunas girl, from Yang and Ruby hugging and embracing her, to Weiss who laid a hand on her shoulder while closing her own eyes. The moment didn't last long as a distant Ogretail roar echoed out, reminding them of the situation.
"This may not be the best time, but we gotta go," Nana pointed out.
"Beacon Academy is close by," Shigure brought up. "If we could hitch a ride, we can—"
"Wait, I'm getting something," Glynda interrupts, digging out her scroll before gasping. "It's an S.O.S. signal… from Beacon."
"What," Raven and Summer questioned, with the latter following it up. "Is it under attack?" She received a nod from the professor as she played the message.
"To any Huntsmen receiving this message, this is Headmaster Ozpin of Beacon Academy. We are under attack by creature we never imagined, and I fear they are the same type of monster as the monstrous wolf of Mountain Glenn. We need immediate assistance, so please, come as fast as you're able."
"Fuck," Lindow curses out, smashing his fist on a tree. "The Aragami have made their move… those kids are not going to last long."
"Glynda, can you get in touch with any bullhead in the air," Raven spoke up. "Like it or not, we need to get there immediately. We're the only ones capable of defending the Academy, and they can't be picky on the help either."
"I'll do what I can," the woman responded before getting in touch with a pilot and leaving the God Eaters to think on the matter. Each and every one of them knew that the Huntsmen forces will not last against the Aragami as they are impervious to Dust weaponry, and the ones in training will be scarred if they lost a teammate. Nodding in agreement, as well as voicing out some positives to saving them.
After a few minutes of waiting, a Bullhead descended to pick up the God Eaters, and they embark on their first rescue mission on the world of Remnant… and slaughter every Aragami they will come across.
NORN DATABASE UPDATE

She has displayed considerable strength fighting Aragami due to her body now composed of Oracle Cells, and has developed mutations based on the cores of Aragami she crushed and absorbed. So far, she exhibits Gauntlet Forearms from the Marduk, as well as the Blade Wings of Dyaus Pita
Adam Taurus (Deceased)
Former White Fang Operative and mentor to Blake Belladonna. Adam Taurus exhibited an extremist view of the world: Where Faunas reigned Supreme and humanity rendered extinct. He ambushed the Fenrir force in the hopes of killing them, only to meet his end to a Tsukuyomi Deusphage.
Shigure Rangetsu
Age 39
A trusted ally of Raven Branwen.
Shigure trained in the obscure method where Aura and Semblances are seen as crutches to true strength potential. It is stated that until Raven took charge, Shigure was in charge of the Branwen Tribe. He is one of Raven's faithful confidants, being informed of the truth of Remnant, as well as the dangers the Aragami possess.
A/N: Well, after two years, I finally come back with a chapter for this fic of the God Eater Saga.
I have to fully apologize for not updating for the length it's been. 2021 became a terrible year where I had to focus all of my mental capacity to getting bills caught up for my mom. I swear, the moment I helped her get one bill caught up, another one falls behind, so I had to help her out of that.
But then 2022 happened and… well, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and say that I had lost both things important to me. I'll start with my little Boston Terrier in April 4th, as there was an issue where a part of her stomach and leg was bloating. My mom and I did take her to the vet to get that fixed, but by the time it came back, we brought her only to learn she wouldn't make it. Mom and I made the painful decision to euthanize her, saying our goodbyes as she crosses over the rainbow bridge.
Then… two months afterwards, in June 26, 2022… I lost my mom. I didn't know that on that day, I would say goodbye to her as she was fine around noon before I went to bed, as I have a job where I work different shifts per week. She was taken to the hospital where they did their best… but she passed away and I had to come and say goodbye to her as well. As I was grieving, I reconnected with my Grandma and my Aunt, to which I have moved in with in August. I carry my mom's ashes in my room, as well as a necklace with a pawprint pendant housing her ashes, so that way not only am I keeping her close, but I am also keeping my lost pup Layla as well.
I know this isn't the place to say this, so I want to remind everyone that I have moved on for the most part. I remembered I enjoy typing RWBY fan fiction crossovers for the simple pleasure of introducing new story ideas. I have caught up to the latest episode, but I want to remind everyone that just because I'm writing a fan fic based on RWBY, I DON'T have to follow it's events to the absolute letter. The whole purpose of fan fiction, in my opinion, is to take the characters and world, and create something new, whether it's AU's, lighthearted oneshots, etc.
Review Replies:
Argorok: Interesting story so far, please keep up the good work.
I'll do my best on that front, but my job nowadays have different shift's per week, one for midnight's, one for afternoons, and one for days. I call it the MAD schedule.
KresnikMBM: Oh yeah the Sequel is here! I am excited what will you do, good work!
I'm glad you liked the introduction to the Devouring Remnants. I have the chapter names planned out… somewhere… I may have to dig for them.
Aeos React: If I might make a suggestion to the kill Cinder plan, I believe that having Johanne's *appropriate* Cinder's body into a Grimm/Aragami/'human' hybrid abomination would both allow her to be more 'effectively' used in the story.
Also it will make killing her that much more sweeter.
Trust me, I have a much, Better idea on how to kill her off. Grimm is off the table as it's mainly going to be focused on Aragami.
Nexusnight2: (1) Whelp Remnant's fucked six ways to Sunday thanks to Nova Johannes jump starting it's end. And aside from the revelation that Raven is the spring maiden (not like canon until Volume 5/6 or 7) and for killing off Cinder? I'd say fed her to the aragami but it's your story go for it.
Again, Something better in mind for Cinder. Trust me, I have a feeling you'll enjoy it.
(2) An idea I had was for "Johannes" to YEET(throw) Cinder into the middle of a group of Aragmi and let tear Her to shreds OR kill Her via oracle cell infection. Either works for such an evil person like Her
I wouldn't really call her Evil… but I can say that she is downright atrocious.
Daoist Crystal: Thank you very much for this wonderful story, i hope you can release more chapter and keep up the good work.
Again, it would really depend on how I spend my time going forward now. I have about two hours when I wake up, and four hours after coming home from work.
Nyantalanta: YESSSSS! PART 2!
Just have an Ogretail or something puny and pathetic (In terms of Aragami) make a snack outta her :v
Is this going to be a thing? Suggestions on how to kill Cinder Fall off? Then again, she is the WORST VILLIAN in RWBY as of this moment.
XenoBlaze: It begins.
Really looking forward to how things will turn out in this fanfic.
I can already guess who in Remnant will become God Eaters.
I'm new to the God Eater series, but Isaac sounds like someone who will stop at nothing to find the truth of whatever situation he's met with. No matter how ugly or world changing it is.
Remnant now has their hands full with monsters they are not properly equipped for.
I have a few questions though.
While I agree with you that Cinder needs to die, how is she gonna handle her current situation? Her pawns are dead and Salem is gone. Unless you count Roman and Neo, she's all alone.
And what about Adam? Where is he in all this?
And PLEASE DON'T KILL SUMMER OFF! I don't want this to be a fanfic of Summer being alive, only to die later.
There are certain people in this fanfic that I prefer alive rather than dead. Though, I do understand that with a fanfic setting like God Eater, there are gonna be deaths. Some important.
Also, when can we expect elements from God Eater 3 showing up? I'd like to see their team helping out. And whoever you come up with for GE3's protag. But mostly, I wanna see Pyhm!
All in all, good luck and stay safe.
Yeah, that was the feel I got from Isaac when I first saw him in God Eater 2. I think in terms of leadership during the crisis, he will be more reliable than Ozpin.
I have no idea on how to write in Neo and Roman. Maybe I'll have them pack up and leave in secret only to be ambushed by the God Eaters. Seeing their resourcefulness, they can be recruited as a sort of informant? At this point, I don't know.
Adam… I hope you read this chapter.
I am not gonna kill off Summer. I actually see a lot of potential this iteration of Summer can have, as displayed in this chapter. When Aragami devour cores, they evolve, like how the Vajratails are different from Ogretails due to having devoured Vajra cores. Summer is kinda the same way, only she can only use one asset from any Aragami she has devoured into her body.
GE3 characters are not going to appear in this fic… their place is reserved for when I eventually work on the third one, which will mainly be God Eater only. There will be some RWBY characters and terms I'll transfer over, and I will warn to read this and the fic before it.
Ether02: Ah great, that can't be good.
Also the people from remnant should be glad they won't have to deal with ash.
Yeah… instead they have the Psions to deal with. Plus side? No Red Rain.
Bowman123: Nice
Huh… Neat… (IF ANYONE GETS THIS REFERENCE, YOU ARE THE BEST AND DESERVE A COOKIE)
Dragolord09: Are you going to be using anything from Code Vein in this story?
I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Code Vein a lot, and I do like the characters. It's just… it would be really difficult to include the Revenants in this story.
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. What do you think? Leave a Favorite, Follow and Review.
With that out of the way, I'm BlazefireDrago, signing out.
