Ellie's Pov
Being pulled along by Doc and Addy, they all ran through the woods.
"You know I'm getting a bit tired of being dragged around" Ellie grumbled when suddenly a scream sounded out and it made Ellie's stomach plummet.
"That didn't sound good." Doc said when they all stoped
"Oh, damn it. Come on. Come on." Addy said and they both tried to pull Ellie along again when she pulled away.
"I need to help him" Ellie said and before anyone could stop her she ran
"Ellie!" She heard them both shout after her but she carried on running.
Reaching the clearing she saw 10k flying through the air after being thrown by Cassandra and landing roughly on a rock. He got up after a few seconds and she could see that he had blood dripping down the right side of his face.
He stumbled forward looking for Cassandra and Ellie did the same to see that she had moved from her spot and was now crouching on a rock a few feet from 10k getting ready to pounce. Ellie quickly looked aroind to see if she could use anything not so lethal to help when she saw a large branch.
Cassandra growled leaping towards 10k who turned and ran on the spot when Ellie rushed forward picked up the branch and swung it towards Cassandra knocking her down before she could reach 10k.
10k turned hearing the noise and his eyes widend when he saw Ellie.
"What are you doing!?" He hissed at her grabbing her arm and pulling her forwards so she was behind him, making her drop the branch.
"Helping you" Ellie said as if it wasnt obvious when they both started backing away when Cassandra got to her feet growling at them as she approached. "Cassandra you need to stop" Ellie said trying to calm her down which had the opposite effect, she was growling more furiously and now was focused entirely on Ellie.
Rushing forward Cassnadra grabbed 10k and threw him to the side when he landed roughly on the ground, groaning. Ellie tried backing away when Cassandra grabbed her wrist in bone grinding grip and Ellie struggled to hold in a gasp of pain. Using her other hand Ellie tried to swing at Cassandra but she grabbed that hand too and when Ellie tried to pull her hands away she tightened her grip and Ellie swore she could hear her bones creaking.
Bringing her head forward Ellie headbutted Cassandra sending a wave of pain through her head but it got the desired result, Cassandra growled backing away and Ellie fell to the floor slighlty dazed. Getting her barings back she saw Cassnadra approaching her again when she was grabbed from behind and pulled to the floor by 10k.
10k tried to get up when Cassandra pulled him to her climbing on his back and she started repeatedly slamming his head to the ground. Climbing to her feet Ellie rushed forward, kicking her in the side and when she didnt move, Ellie went to kick her again but her foot was grabbed by Cassandra and she was harshly pulled to the floor landing on her back the breath knocked out of her.
Trying to get to her feet her foot was grabbed again and Ellie kicked back with her other foot hitting Cassandra in the face a few times which didnt stop her. Grabbig the foot that was kicking her Cassandra twisted it roughly sending a shooting pain througn Ellies foot and she couldnt help but scream out. But Cassandra wasnt done, climbing on top of her Cassandra grabbed a fistful of her hair and banged her head down painfully into the ground and Ellie saw stars. Going to repeat the action Cassandras weight was suddenly gone from her body and she looked to her left to she her and 10k struggling against each other.
"stop it" 10k said strained when she tried to get away from him kicking him in the head. Ellie tried to get up when she stumbled, her vision going dizzy and her foot was throbbing.
10k managed to get the upperhand pinning Cassandra to the ground but she easily flipped their positions so Cassandra was now on top of 10k and her hands when straight to his head as she twisted his head. She was trying to snap his neck, Ellie managed to get up on her kness and then onto her feet and she limped over to 10k as quickly as she could.
Jumping forward Ellie grabbed Cassandra around the waist pulling her off 10k and they both went rolling down a small bank. Rolling to a stop Ellie landed roughly on her front coughing harshly as she rubbed the dust out of her eyes. Looking towards Cassandra she could seethat she was getting to her feet, her graze lockedon Ellie and she was not happy. Ellie tired to get up but struggled to ger her feet underneath her, when Cassandra reached her and kicked her in the face and Ellie fell back down with a yell.
Climbing on top of her Ellie tried hitting her when Cassandra grabbed her around her neck and started to squeze and Ellie struggled to breath. Ellie kneed her in between Cassandras leg and she flinched lossening her grip, allowing Ellie to grab her arm and she bit down hard. Cassandra howled in pain and Ellie managed to throw Cassandra off her. Trying to pull herself up Ellie saw Cassandra approaching again when she was suddenly knocked to the side by 10k and they both landed on the floor with Cassandra on top of him and she immediately grabbed at his head and jaw pulling his head awkwardly to the side.
Ellie tired to reach them but she couldn't get herself upright, when suddenly everything went quiet, and Cassandra stilled and thats when Ellie saw it. 10ks hand was attached to his knife that was now in Cassandras neck.
Pulling the knife out Cassandra collapsed onto 10k who hugged her slighting and then rolled them so Cassandra was on thd floor with 10k on his knees staring sadly down at her.
Ellie finally managed to pull herself up and shecrawled over to him resting her head on his shoulder. She may have not been Cassandra anymore but she was, .And she was their friend.
"I'm sorry ten" Ellie said sadly tears running dwon her face and she heard 10k sniffle too.
"Me to" He said wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "Are you ok?" He asked her wiping his eyes with his other hand as ne turned to look at her.
"Im ok, ankles throbing and head hurts a little bit but Im ok. You?"
"Nothing serious" He dismissed
"Her eyes look different" Ellie mumbled to herself looking down at Cassandra, before her eyes looked like Murphy's now they looked more human. Shaking her head Ellie dismissed the thought and turned to look at 10k who was also looking down at Cassandra.
"we should elevate your ankle till Doc can take a look". 10k suddenly said looking at Ellie, moving his arm he picked up Ellies arm and placed it around his shoulders and placed his arm around her waist as he pulled her into a standing position. With 10ks help Ellie limped over to a rock a few feet away from Cassandra.
Sitting down on the rock Ellie lifted her leg up and rested her ankle ontop of it before looking back towards Cassandra.
"We should bury her" Ellie said sadly and she saw 10k nod.
"Ill do it" He said
"I can help_"
"No" 10k said cutting her off "I dont want your ankle getting any worse, but Im not leaving you here when you're hurt, Ill be back"
Walking over to Cassandra, 10k leaned down to pick her up in a fireman lift and he walked off with her into the woods. A few minutes later he returned, stopping in front of Ellie who went to stand up when she was swept of her feet and into the arms of 10k and he carried her bridal style into the woods.
"I'm sorry you had to do that ten" Ellie said sadly brushing her hand against his hair at the back of his neck as she tried to comfort him. "She was your friend".
"Cassandra was" 10k said agreeing with her "But that wasn't Cassandra anymore"
"You don't have to justify yourself to me 10k, you did what you had to do. She was getting worse, it was either us or her. The Cassandra we knew and loved wasn't there anymore, Im just sorry it had to be you that ended it"
10k didnt say anything for a few seconds, but Ellie felt his grip tighten around her legs and back like he was trying to keep himself together.
"Me too" He mumbled quietly and before she could say anything else she was gently lowered to the ground.
She hadnt even realised they had made it to where he decided to bury Cassandra, walking away from her 10k picked up a shovel and started digging a few feet away from her.
It took him about 3o minutes for him to dig the grave and fill it back up with Cassandra in it and Ellie felt horrible that she couldn't help. She could tell he was struggling containing his emotions, Ellie was too. From being physically drained from the fight with Cassandra and then the exertion from digging a grave, aswell as the emtotional trauma. They were both exhausted.
"Well, we didn't find Murphy" A voice said behind them and Ellie jumped, looking behind her she saw Doc, Addy, Warren and Vasquez
"But we found these two" Doc said
"And not a minute too soon, we didn't have much fight left" Warren said not noticing the fresh grave till she stepped closer "What's that?"
"Cassandra." 10k said his voice void of emotion, Ellie turned to look at Cassandra's grave sadly while the others came and stood next to her while Addy knelt down staring sadly at the grave
"Oh, my God. What happened?" Addy asked looking between them both.
"I did what I had to do"
"You mercied her?" Warren asked shock in her voice as she stepped closer to 10k
"She gave me no choice."
"Saw that one coming" Vasquez said
"She was our friend." Addy said angrily
"No she wasn't Addy" Ellie said sadly tears in her eyes "She tried to snap 10ks neck, he didn't have a choice"
"Cassandra was our friend. That wasn't Cassandra."
"It's OK, kid. We understand." Doc said
"Don't try to make me feel better about it. I don't want to feel better about it. There's nothing to feel better about. Nothing.
That's what I want to feel." 10k said and it broke Ellies heart to see him like that.
"What's going on here?" Murphy asked from behind 10k, he really did have bad timing. Ellie knew this wasn't going to end well so she shuffled around so she was on her knees and managed to use Doc to pull herself up. Doc looked at her questionably but she brushed him off, her ankle could wait. Limping foward slightly she stood next to 10k who hadn't turned to face Murphy yet.
"Where's Cassandra?" Murphy asked looking around
"She's dead." Warren said walking forward so she was infront of 10k "I'm sorry."
"Dead?" Murpyy said slowly walking down the hill as he approached them "How? What happened?"
"I mercied her." 10k said tturning his head to face Murphy
"You." Murphy said a few steps away "I gave her life. And you had no right
to take that away."
"She wasn't human. THAT wasn't human. Not since you bit her."
Shaking his head Murphy growled out slowly "3,255." launching himself forward Murphy went for 10k and Ellie stepped infront of him just as Warren grabbed his arm.
Growling he tried to get past Ellie but neither her or Warren would let him.
"She was going feral" Ellie said as she tried to get Murphy's attention on her instead of glaring at 10k. "Whatever control you had was slipping, she tried to kill 10k. She nearly broke my ankle, 10k did wht he had to do to keep me and him safe. I'm sorry but we didn't have a choice"
Murphy looked down at her ankle and Ellie saw a glimmer of regret go across his face and he backed away from Ellie but Warren didnt remove her grip
"Where's the baby?" She asked anxiously "Where's Lucy?"
"You don't have to worry about the baby anymore" Murphy said pulling Warrens hands away from him he then walked past them all not saying another word.
Ellie turned to face 10k when she hissed in pain when she stepped on her ankly wrong and that got Warren's attention. "Doc, I think you should have a look at Ellie's ankle"
"No, its just a sp_" Making a noice of surprise Ellie found herself once again being carried bridal style by 10k, who walked over to a tree stump and placed her down. He then backed away so Doc could come forward, kneeling down next to her he gently picked up her ankle resting it on his thigh. He then pulled her boot off and her sock wincing when she hissed in pain.
Once her shoe and shock were off he looked down at her ankle and saw her slightly swollen foot, he then started turning her ankle from side to side and Ellie bit down on her lip as she tried to ignore the pain. Doc then ran his fingers up and down her foot to check for breaks which made her giggle and when Doc heard her he looked up smiling and repeated the action.
"Doc stop it" Ellie laughed nudging him in the shoulder and he laughed placing her foot back on the ground.
"Well its not broken, and at the moment the swelling isnt to bad. I would say its just a bad sprain, so try to rest it and I wouldn't wear your shoe for a little while just your sock"
"Rest it? In the apocalypse where we are constantly running from zombies and anything else trying to kill us" Ellie deadpaned a smirk on her face as she slowly pulled her sock back on. "Which I cant run from in one shoe and sock"
"Well rest it as much as you can"
"We'll help you get around Ellie, don't worry We'll keep you safe. Even if we have to carry you" Warren said "You can rest you're ankle once we reach the hut but you're not walking through the forest barefooted"
"I've got it" Murphy said from behind them before anyone else could say something.
Ellie looked up to see Murphy walking towards her a sad look on his face, reaching her he placed a arm under her legs and one behind her back and he picked her up holding her close to his chest as she rested an arm around his shoulders.
"Murphy you good?" Warren asked him when he turned to face them.
"Im perfectly capable of looking after my own daughter" Murphy said walking past them "besides I think you all should focus on protecting me and Ellie from any threats"
Ellie looked up at Murphy in surprise this was probably the nicest he had ever been to her, but she knew he was hurting he had just lost Cassandra and he no longer had Lucy. She didn't think he'd hurt her but she did wonder what he did with her.
Looking back at the group she saw 10k grab his jacket, knife and gun he then leaned down to grab her bag wuth her cross bow in and her gun and he sling it around his shoulder walking after Murphy the rest followed.
"Im sorry about Cassandra" Ellie said to Murphy looking back at his face but he wouldnt for make eye contact he just stared straight ahead.
"I'm sorry about your ankle, I never meant for that to happen" He said and he sounded sincere.
"What happened to Lucy?"
"She's safe" Murphy said simply and Ellie knew he was done talking, so she just watched the trees as they walked past.
Reaching the hut Murphy walked through the opening and placed her down on one of the makeshift beds they made while the others made themselves comfortable around them either sitting on chairs on the floor or on some blankets, except 10k who came and sat next to her ignoring the glare Murphy sent his way. Murphy did back off though settling in the corner of the room. Warren stepped forwards then handing Ellie and 10k a rag to rub of the dirt and blood on their faces and once they did they threw them to the side. No one said anything they were all quiet, all still reeling from Cassandra's death.
Ellie looked up at 10k and saw he was struggling to hold it together, tears in his eyes. Ellie held her hand out encouraging him to come to her but he shook his head, his lower lip quiveing and it broke Ellie's heart. "Please 10k" Ellie said her voice cracking as she to tried to hold herself together but failing as tears ran down her face. Giving in 10k inched closer sitting right next to her and Ellie pulled him into a hug. He wrapped her arms around her tightly sniffling and Ellie knew he was crying now. "It's ok" she said quietly running her hand down his back "ive got you".
It took 10k about 10 minutes and lots of reassuring words to calm down. Ellie saw lots of worried and sympathetic looks of the others but none of them approached them, they knew he needed space. Once he had calmed down he pulled away from Ellie but he didn't move away instead he place his head on her lap and led down so he was facing her stomach. Ellie knew he probably didnt want to face the others, placing her hand on his arm she rested her head against the wall and closed her eyes, the events of the day catching up on her. She heard 10k's breath even out and she couldn't help drift off until she knew no more.
A/N- Hi. Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Now I am thinking of doing another fanfiction and I have a couple of ideas running through my head and I wanted to see what you all think.
Option 1 is a Vampire Diaries Fanfiction starting when Alaric comes into it. Alaric is my characters guardian since she was about 11 and when he moves to mystic fall she comes with. Shes Elenas age and she is a hunter, her parents were killed by vampires so lets just say she has a strong dislike for vampires but only kills them if she has too. But she is also something else, somthing supernatural
Option 2 is a teen wolf fanfiction. My character moves to beacon hills around the same time as Allison befriends scott and the rest of the gang but she is also a witch. And for some reason Peter is very interested in her.
