The Scarlet Beast Ch. 7
Tossing the rubble off his body, Daegon slowly stood up, his body sore from the weight of the building that came crashing down on top of him. Arching his back, he could feel this body starting to heal itself, but he was in desperate need of blood, for if he found his mate, her scent could drive him over the edge, and he would never do anything to harm her.
Sparing a glance around the burning building, his eyes landing on the woman he drained, frowning a bit, there was nothing to take from her, looking for the man, his body was in pieces, feeling a bit frustrated, it was the sound of groaning that pulled his attention from his own pain. Making his way towards the noise, he found a woman under a pile of rubble.
Sommerfield could sense someone near her, "Please, help me." Attempting to move, screaming as her leg was pinned down. "Abby, Hannibal?" Fear taking over, she could hear the self-destruct button, but he didn't trigger the alarm to let her know why.
Feeling the weight of the rocks getting lifted off her body, "Whoever is there, thank you." She said, relief filling her.
Tilting his head, she called for Abby, and Hannibal, not this Sommerfield. "What is your name?" his voice straining for control. As desperate as he was for blood, if she was not this Sommerfield he would consider sparing her, for she was blind, there was no honor in that.
"They call me Sommerfield, please, who are you?" she asked, her voice cracking. "Is my daughter Zoe OK?" worried that she was killed in the blast.
Wrapping his hand around her throat, "You can call me Daegon." He growled out. Lifting her higher, "Your daughter, she was taken out by the one you call Hedges, so do not worry, she will not die." At least for now, but if the child came looking for revenge, he would gladly kill her too.
Fear took over, not wanting to kick out, it would honestly do her no good, he was a vampire, and she was blind. There would be no fighting him. "I can help you, create stronger vampires." Desperate to try anything that could spare her life. It would also provide her with access to his blood, and perhaps she could create something that was stronger than he.
Inhaling deeply, Daegon could smell her fear, but it was marred with the scent of deception. "I have no need for your help, my wife and I will repopulate the weak." Maintaining his human form, not that it would have mattered, but if she could not see, there would be no fear. Sinking his teeth into her neck, practically moaning as her blood soothed his aches and pains.
Screaming at the top of her lungs, Sommerfield struggled to break free, but his fangs were deep in her neck, coughing up blood, her last thoughts were of her daughter, and how she was leaving her with no one to take care of her. Hedges was too stupid to know how to raise a kid, she could only hope he would take her to another Night Stalkers compound, someone there would watch over her.
The sound of her heart sputtering for the last time, Daegon dropped her body on the floor, arching his back, he couldn't contain the roar that escaped his mouth. Feeling everything finally sliding back into place, it was time for him to find his wife, sensing her distress.
Letting his body maintain its human shape, he darted out towards the vehicle, his eyes finding Jarko leading her back to the car, talking about her transition. Anger filled him, did he honestly think that he was dead and decided to take what belonged to him. Growling out, his body tense with anger, and the urge to claim was strong.
Moving quickly to her, his arms wrapping around her shoulders, he could hear her, but he quickly shut her up, his mouth covered hers. Demanding entry into her mouth, he could taste the honey flavor that drove him insane. Feeling her hands wrapping around his shoulders, pushed him deeper into his claim over her. He had to remind himself over and over that she was human, he couldn't be so rough with her, but the smell of her excitement told him that she wasn't so concerned.
Turning his eyes from the pair, Jarko tossed the keys into the SUV and darted back to the tower, as much as she wanted to stay to protect his Queen, just by the smell of their King, he was more instinct than anything else.
Jo couldn't help but lean into him, her body desperate for his touch. Her fingers slowly made their way towards his head, wanting to feel the texture of his hair, moaning as he lifted her up, wrapping her legs around his waist, she arched herself as she felt his cock push against her thigh. Pulling back just slightly, Jo rested her head on his forehead, "I thought you were dead." Cringing a bit with how her voice cracked.
Daegon groaned as her body arched against his, the tip of his cock was pushing right against her panties, he could feel her dampness. Sliding his hands up her silky thighs until they reached the top of her panties, ripping them off, he couldn't suppress the growl that was low in his throat. Needing to smell her, Daegon brought them to his nose, inhaling deeply.
"Perfection." Tossing them over his shoulder, his eyes locked onto hers, "I need you, my Queen." Rolling his hips, hissing at the feel of her wetness on his cock. His fingers digging into her hips, every fiber of his being demanding to drive his cock into her, but she was in control, only her pleas could release him.
Gasping, Jo could feel the broad tip of him pushing against her pussy, leaning forward, she placed a kiss on his lips. "Please." Desperate to feel him, if anything to tell herself that he was here with her.
Slamming his lips down on her, Daegon couldn't be soft even if he wanted to, the first mating of a vampire was always rough. Lifting her a little higher, he drove his cock deep into her body, her muffled cries into his mouth sent chills down his spine.
Remembering that she needed to breathe, he let his head come to rest on hers, his body needing to regain some form of control, or he'd spill his seed before his wife reached her release.
"Joelle," his voice straining with desire, "I'm sorry." This was not how he wanted to seal their bond, outside on a car like some common whore. Flinching a bit as the tightness of her body squeezed him, she was perfect in every way, and he was failing her in their first bonding.
Tilting her head back, Jo struggled to get enough air into her lungs, she could feel him, her pussy was on fire, his cock was stretching her in ways that she didn't even knew existed. As the pain of his entry started to subside, she could hear him, apologizing to her, letting her eyes find his, Jo gently touched his face.
"I'm fine." Leaning forward, she kissed him, "Need you." Her body needed him, and what she read about the mating process of a vampire, the first time was always the roughest. Licking the side of his neck, she knew that he was torn between instinct and his concern for her. It was in this moment, she knew, he would always care for her, and that was a burden that she was grateful to be lifted from her shoulders.
Rolling her hips, "Daegon, please. I need you." Not caring that she was begging. He was hers, and she wanted to be his in every way that she could.
It was the sound of her pleas that pushed him, gripping her hips, he slowly withdrew his cock, his eyes turning down to see the blood that was coating it, never in his life had been more turned on. Keeping one hand on her hip, the other sliding up into her hair, he needed her to submit to him, to relinquish her control. Feeling her body relax, his red eyes found her steel ones staring into his, "No going back my Queen."
Snapping his hips forward, the sound of her pleasure and pain excited him. Keeping her body pinned to the side of the truck, Daegon set a brutal pace, just at the threshold of what a human could tolerate, but her body only got wetter, her scent got stronger, and her pussy gripped him harder.
He could feel his fangs itching to bite into her flesh, but while she was giving him her body, he needed to hear her words for her change. "Fuck. You feel so good." He growled out. For the first time in existence, sex felt more than just a primal release.
Jo held on using his shoulders to keep herself steady, she knew that she was going to be sore, and that only seemed to excite her more. Digging her nails into his flesh, she could feel pressure on her lower belly, biting her lip, she wanted to hold out more, but in her human state, she would never be able to.
"Daegon." Her voice but a whisper, "I'm ready." Knowing that by saying it, it would start her life as a vampire. While it was still terrifying, feeling his cock move within her she could feel their bond growing. Rolling her hips, desperate for the release that only he could give her, "Please." Gasping as his cock drove harder into her body.
Feeling his fangs slide into place, his skin rippled as her words touched his ears. Snapping his hips into her body, his nose found its way into her neck, enjoying how her impending orgasm sweetened her. Licking the side of her neck, "Be sure, there will be no cure, for my blood, my bite is not the same as lesser vampires." It was her last chance to wait.
Gripping tighter, she could feel blood starting to ooze between her fingers, her head fell forward against his shoulder, tightening her legs, Jo couldn't help but cry out as her orgasm rolled through her body. "Daegon," she gasped, "Please."
Her pleas broke him, tilting her head, he let his tongue trace the vein in her neck. Feeling her body shake around him, he drove himself into her body, the sound of their skin slapping in the night brought him closer to the edge. Growling into her ear, "Breathe." Knowing that as a human there was no way to ease the pain of his fangs in her neck.
Hearing her inhale, Daegon gripped her hair tightly, and as gently as he could sank his teeth into her neck. Her cries of pain and ecstasy mingled together, but as her blood washed over his tongue, he could no longer contain himself. Pulling her blood into his mouth, his hips snapped up harder, but his strokes were slower and more deliberate.
Daegon felt her body shutter around his cock again, it made the taste of her blood that more addicting. Closing his eyes, he felt the rush of his seed filling her body, holding her hips steady, he drove himself a bit deeper, wanting his seed to be deep within her.
Jo gasped, between the feeling of his teeth in her neck, and how his cum was coating her walls, her body was in overdrive. She couldn't help but hiss out as he removed his teeth, trying to focus on his face, she found his chin covered in her blood. It should have scared her, he truly looked like a vampire, but she couldn't help but lean forward, kissing him, tasting herself on him.
"Joelle," he said, between kissing her, "Drink, my Queen." Gently pulling her head back, he cut his neck, and pushed her head down to him, she would need the extra blood to complete the transition. Feeling her hot mouth on his skin, Daegon could barely keep his eyes open. Trying not to crush her against the car as she fed from him, he knew that their bond was sealed, all that was left was for her to submit to him as a vampire, and then no force on earth would be able to separate them.
She felt dizzy, licking her lips as his blood started to drip down her chin, Jo let her head rest upon his shoulder, and the last thing she could hear was his voice, telling her to sleep.
Placing her on their bed, grateful for Kimi getting her cleaned up, his eyes never leaving her body. He could feel her watching, "What is it?" he asked, for his Queen, he would be kind to her, for it seemed as though she made a friend.
Keeping a respectable distance, fearing that as a new transitioned vampire, Joelle would feel threated by another female near her mate. "My King, when we spent our day together, she expressed her desires of how she wished to feed."
Stroking her hair, Daegon could see the subtle changes, it was a bit lighter, growing a bit longer, her lips were a bit pinker, everything that made her a stunning beauty was enhanced. Hearing her words, "And how did she say that she wanted to feed?" Curious about how she was going to approach this.
Kimi could feel the sun starting to rise, it was time for her to head off to her room, bowing slightly as she backed up towards the door, "Violent humans, rapists, men that hurt children. She said she wanted her newfound bloodlust to be useful for the more innocent humans." Touching the door, "Sleep well your highness," glancing over at her friend, "She will be remarkable."
Daegon breathed a sigh of relief as the doors shut, as much as he tolerated her, or anyone for that matter, he didn't want anyone near her as her human body died. While he knew that she wasn't going to burn under the light of the sun, when she finally awoke, he didn't want all her knew senses getting triggered at one time. Pushing the button, chuckling a bit as the metal plates slid into place, hearing them lock down, Daegon quickly made his way towards their bed, wanting to hold her until she awoke.
Crawling in behind her, he pulled her close to his chest, something happened to him as he settled in the bed, his arms and legs over her. An emotion that he was not familiar with coursed through him, if he had to take a guess, he would say love. Shaking his head clear, it was hard for him to pinpoint what it was, for he had never experienced such a thing before.
Closing his eyes, enjoying how his body warmed at the thought of her looking at him, touching him, speaking with him. Whatever this was, he was going to enjoy it, for it was only directed towards her, and for his mate, he would admit that he felt love, but only for her.
As his body started to shut down, his last conscience thought was soon, they would be married, binding their souls together for all eternity.
Blade found himself staring up at the ceiling, mindlessly watching the fan turn slowly, he could feel the tension in his body. Every instinct in his body told him to find her, but it was her face that kept him from tracking her down. For a moment she looked excited, but as the realization of who her mate was washed over her, her face dropped.
Folding his arms behind his head, he knew that now that he had found her, there wasn't a moment in his life that he would be able to survive without her. As much as he wanted to be with her, he wasn't going to start killing people because he was questioning himself. Maybe it was the sound of Whistler's voice in his ear, or perhaps it was his guilt of figuring out where he fit in the world. He honestly didn't know, and he was certain that until he figured it out, she would keep her distance.
Seeing that the sun was finally starting to set, it was time for him to venture out, perhaps feed. While he wasn't ready to feed off a person, not that he was sure that he would ever be, perhaps though, enjoying it from a bag it would help him figure out who he was.
Slipping on a shirt, Blade left his sword in his room, if he was going to build trust within Daegon's clan, perhaps not looking like he was ready to kill them would help. Opening the door, he found the wall of muscles sitting with his mate, resisting the urge to hiss, he slowly made way over to them.
Jarko could smell him as he approached, his eyes falling to Kimi, she was somewhere between excitement and frustration. As the acting leader of the clan, it was his job to make sure that all the vampires in their clan were taken care of. Giving her a look, silently asking if she wanted him to be removed from her presence, smirking a bit as she took her time.
Kimi shook her head, as much as she wanted to tell him to fuck off, but she knew that it was imperative for them to speak. Slowly standing, she gave Jarko a small smile, even when Danica was alive, he never mistreated her, one could almost say that they were friends. "Thank you."
Turning her attention fully to the daywalker, sighing, she hoped whoever decided these things knew what they were doing. "We should talk." Was all she said. Walking around him, making her way towards the elevator, figured that they could talk over a drink.
Blade kept in step as she made her way through the tower, his eyes watching how her body moved. She was an older vampire, not one of the new generations. "How old are you?" he blurted out. Almost smacking himself in the face.
Punching the code for a few blood bags, Kimi watched as they warmed up, without looking over her shoulder, "I was turned in 1785." Seeing the blood was warmed up, she tossed him a bag, and sank her fangs into hers. Finishing hers, she could see that he was still staring at it, "Why are you afraid of blood?" she asked him.
"I'm not." Doing his best to keep his voice from the anger that was building inside of him. "It's just that, I don't want to lose control." Memories of his childhood flooded his brain.
Leaning against the wall, she could see that he was no stranger to feeding from humans, perhaps in his early years. "Were you part of a clan before?" Wondering a bit about his history.
"No." His teeth aching to pierce the bag.
Kimi could tell that, "You'll only lose control if you don't stay ahead of your cravings." Pushing herself off the wall, she made her way over to him, keeping a safe distance. Mate or not, a hungry vampire was dangerous, and she really didn't want to deal with his guilt if he hurt her. "I would recommend, since you are new this this type of feeding, is 4 bags a day for a month, then taper down to 2 bags a day, then to one, and eventually in about 3-6 months depending on how you respond, you'll be able to survive off a bag once a week."
"Why are you helping me?" He knew as her mate, they wouldn't intentionally hurt each other, but in his past, he's been burned by them. Not wanting to be taken for a fool again, especially after Scud.
Frowning a bit, "I'd help you even if you weren't my mate, no vampire should be at the mercy of their cravings, nor should they fear what they are." Sighing, "Only in the last 50 years have the vampires that have been changed try to change the ancient laws, rabid animals."
Locking her eyes on his honey-brown, "Our King is sending out a tactical team tonight to rid the world of their kind." Giving him a small smile, "Relax yourself, don't rip, gently bite, and breath in slowly. It will help the beast inside remain calm as the blood rushes over your tongue."
Giving her a nod, Blade brought the bag up to his mouth, biting into as she instructed, breathing as she instructed him to. The reaction was almost instant, taking a second to keep himself from tearing the bag, Blade kept his breathing steady, not draining it as quickly as his beast demanded. Closing his eyes, he let his body enjoy the blood that was absorbing into his system, it soothed him in a way that his serum never could.
Kimi watched him, she could see that the blood was easing some of the pain that he was experiencing, but more than that, she could see a part of him accepting what he was. Taking a few steps back, she waited for him to finish, while the bloodlust was under control, a vampire that was not used to feeding, could get very territorial over their meal.
Tossing the bag into the trash, Blade found her leaning against the wall, her eyes seemed more relaxed now. "That helped, thank you." Exhaling slowly, "Is this how you feed?"
Pushing herself off the wall, Kimi slowly made her way towards him, reaching pocket pulling out a napkin, chuckling a bit when he frowned. "Relax, we all dribble a bit. And yes, this is how I feed, unless I'm out and about, then I hunt for more unsavory humans."
Following her as she made her way towards the elevator, as the doors closed, the scent of her filled the small space, gardenia. Letting it wash over his senses, it was surprising to him, everything seemed to be calm around her. Enjoying the peace that he was finally feeling after the first 30 plus years of his life, Blade could feel her eyes on him. It was seeing her brown eyes sparking with what could be interpreted as interests that prompted him to move.
Kimi was caged in his arms, his nose was in her neck, gripping his shoulders tightly ready to push him off if he got too friendly. However, it was comforting, tilting her head slightly, "This does not mean anything other than I'm giving you a chance to prove yourself." Wanting to make sure he understood her intentions.
Blade could feel his body vibrating, the urge to sink his teeth into her neck was almost too much, but from what he understood about mating that she was the one in control of how slow or how fast they moved. If he tried to force her, the bond would be severed, and as much as he didn't understand the vampire side of himself, he wasn't willing to risk his shot at happiness.
Licking her neck, growling at how her skin tasted under his tongue, needing to stop, Blade painfully took a step back. "What exactly would you look for in a mate?" he asked, keeping his hands at his side.
Watching him, Kimi could see that he was desperate to appease her, on the surface she could get him to do whatever she wanted, but she didn't want a puppet, she wanted a partner. Stepping through the doors, indicating for him to follow her, she led them out to the balcony wanting to enjoy the evening air.
Leaning against the railing, her eyes took in the city below, "I don't want you to just do what I say, I want someone I could rely on." Looking over her shoulder, seeing him watch her intently, "I can see that you are struggling to find out who you are, and I will be more than happy to help you figure it out, but you are not better than us, you are one of us, it doesn't make you a mindless killer, nor a monster."
Lightly touching her shoulder, needing the contact of her skin on his, "For almost 20 years that was what my so-called father told me" resisting the urge to let his mind wander down that path, "I can't promise you anything other than I will try."
Placing her hand on his, "For now, that is enough. I will teach you how to be a vampire, and perhaps you can teach about fighting. While I'm skilled enough, you are far better."
Chuckling a bit, enjoying the contact that was flowing between them, "I would like that." Seeing movement, his eyes found a few vampires suited up, "Are you joining them?" he asked her.
Taking him by the hand, she led him inside, "No, but you should." Looking up at Jarko, raising her eyebrow at the man. Hoping that he would help her in his journey.
Shaking his head, Jarko turned to his team, seeing them nod, "If you want to Daywalker, another skilled sword will do us wonders."
Jo could feel her head pounding, lifting her hand to her head, she slowly opened her eyes, groaning as the subtle light filtered into her eyes. "Ow." Blinking rapidly, her eyes settled on Daegon, worry marring his face. "Am I dead?" she asked, her voice a bit teasing. Attempting to sit up, she found him helping her sit up, "Thank you."
Rubbing his thumb against her cheek, "No, technically you are not dead." Pulling her closer to his body, "It will take a few days for your body to transition." Lifting her up, he knew that she needed to feed, "As your body starts to evolve, you will feel edgy, thirsty, and no amount of food or water will satisfy you."
Bringing her towards the bathroom, quickly getting everything ready, he stepped in slowly sinking into the heat, enjoying how her back leaned against his chest. Holding his wrist to her, "Blood will be the only thing that will satisfy you. Bite down Joelle."
Doing as he said, Jo could feel her teeth sinking into his flesh, surprised at how easy it was, but that all stopped the moment his blood touched her tongue. If it was possible, it tasted stronger than before, pulling several mouthfuls into her body, enjoying how the burn in her throat seemed to ease.
Lifting her head, pleased to find that it didn't make her as dizzy as before. Closing her eyes, she could feel her body humming, "Thank you."
Brushing some hair aside, Daegon carefully scraped his teeth on her shoulder, enjoying how her body shivered. "You are most welcome, my Queen." He wanted nothing more than to drive himself deep into her body, but until her transition was complete, her interests would be singular, blood.
"How do you feel now?" Hopeful that his blood soothed the ache.
Tilting her head back, letting it rest on his shoulder, "Better, much better." Exhaling slowly, her body was finally at ease. However, even though she just woke up, she felt that she could go right back to sleep. "Is it normal to feel so tired?"
Chuckling into her ear, "Yes, your body is going through a lot of changes, more so than the vampires of today." Picking her up, he wrapped a towel around her body, and one around his, Daegon carried her out to the balcony, "Look at the stars, they should be clearer now." His eyes finding hers glowing with excitement, it pleased him to know that she was so accepting of his gift.
Jo did as he suggested, even in the city of L.A, her eyes could see through the smog, and the sparkling above her was single handily the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen. "I've never seen them so clearly." Her hand covering her mouth, "What are the downsides to all of this."
While she was happy to experience the amazing, she knew that becoming a vampire wasn't what the romantic movies have portrayed. Turning her body, wanting to look him in the eyes as he spoke to her.
Threading his hands into her hair, almost surprised to feel how soft it's become, "My beautiful Queen," his lips finding their way to hers, "it will be the smell of humans, in the very beginning, their heartbeats with entice the predator in you."
Feeling her eyes going wide, while she now had a fundamental knowledge of vampires, it was still surprising to hear that she could be at the mercy of her instincts. "What do I need to do, to keep myself from harming someone, at least unnecessarily."
Kissing her deeply, he felt for her, until she became comfortable in her knew life, he would keep her from ripping the throat out of a random human. He would never want to have her feel guilt over taking a life, at least not an innocent life. Keeping his head on hers, "You need to feed frequently, from me, from suitable blood sources, after a couple months, you will not be so instinctual."
Jo felt a little relief to hearing that, at least she wasn't going to be a rabid animal for too long. Yawning, she watched as the sun started to rise over the ridge, "Is this going to be the last couple of times I can see this." Her eyes never leaving the horizon.
Daegon took his eyes off her, smiling at what she was watching, if he had just bit her, yes, but he has been steadily feeding her his blood. "No, I am making you my equal in every way. You will always feel the sun kissing your skin."
Wiping a tear that escaped, Jo could barely contain her joy, he cared about her, so much so that he wasn't going to let her suffer in eternal night. Threading her hands with his, she could feel herself being pulled deeper into her feelings, while she wasn't in love, she was falling, and hard.
The pair stayed together on the balcony until the sun cleared the buildings, by the time the sun flooded the balcony, she was asleep against his chest. Bringing her to their bed, Daegon slipped in behind her, his body caging hers, as he drifted off to sleep, he whispered into her ear, "I finally know what love feels like."
