Someday Soon
Chapter 14
Author's note :Thank you my readers. I love reading you're feedback. Stay tuned.
Since the re opening of Karen's cafe. Lucas has been by my side throughout every appointment for the baby.
We picked out a room for the nursery and Lucas was painting it while it was my choice to furnish it.
I was 20 weeks in. 5 months pregnant. My belly was very noticeable at this point. Friends rubbed it. Karen fed me every chance she got.
Strangers smiled as I walked through town.
(You Brooke Davis don't want to know the sex of the baby?) Lucas asked.
(No I don't. I want it to be a surprise. We get so few real surprises in life.)
(The baby is growing strong. Is healthy. We're doing all we can to prepare.)
(Everything else will fall into place.) Brooke replied.
(When you read to the baby. I feel kicks and I don't think it's because of the author you picked out. The little son likes the sound of you're voice.) Brooke announced.
As she stood in the hallway
Because of Lucas 's insistence of her not smelling paint fumes.
He was overprotective. In a sweet caring way.
(Yellow walls. Orange sides. Green accents. I like it.) Lucas said. Once he was finished.
(If you want to wait until the birth I will too.)
(Boy or girl this child will have so much love. He or she will know just how wanted and loved they are.) Lucas stated matter of fact.
(Langston Penelope for a girl.)
(For a boy. Cory Keith.) Brooke proclaimed.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
(I think our baby approves.) Brooke said.
Lucas put his hand where she had placed her own. On her belly.
Brooke's gaze lingered once they pulled away.
Lucas smiled back at her.
Brooke leaned over kissing him.
Lucas kissed her back.
When they pulled apart their eyes locked on each other.
(I should go. Everything is done here.)
(You should give it a few days before coming in here.)
(Or you could stay. I would like you're thoughts on the furniture in here.) Brooke insisted.
(You are the fashion expect. I'll leave it to you.)
(I have dinner plans.) Lucas announced.
(I can order take out. You could spend the night.) Brooke proclaimed.
(Let's not make more of that then it was.) Lucas said.
And with that he left.
