Days Later

I saw Lucas at Karen's. Engaging with everyone. That smile and laugh.

It made my heart ache. I missed him. This distance between us was alot harder to take.

(What are we staring at.?) Rachel asked. When she walked over and saw Brooke gawking outside the cafe.

Brooke took a breath. (I'm planning to stop by for lunch. Since its my lunch hour.)

(Could you go in and see what the specials are.?) Brooke asked.

(Well from the looks of it you already know what you want.) Rachel replied.

It was obvious Brooke was staring at Lucas through the window.

(I'm heading in there for some strong coffee. Parker has been clinging to me.)

(I love him more then anything but I can't sleep.)

(I'll see if Lucas is in there alone.) Peyton announced.

(I thought you would of talked to Lucas about the kiss by now.)

(What is stopping you.?) Rachel questioned.

Brooke looked back at her. (Isn't it obvious. Rejection.)

(He poured his heart out to me I rejected him. Why shouldn't he move on.?) Brooke asked.

(I get that but unless the both of you are honest and open with each other.)

When she felt a hand go on her shoulder she breathed a sigh of relief.

(Finally what did you see.?) Brooke asked. Turning around.

She swallowed hard at the sight of Lucas and Lindsey close by.

(Luke and I were just stopping by for lunch. The infamous Brooke Davis.)

(You are just gorgeous. Especially pregnant. Here's my card.)

(Let's talk one on one soon.) Lindsey insisted.

Brooke felt the baby kicking within her.

Brooke watched as Lindsey grabbed his hand. He smiled and walked away with her.

(By the time I got out of line they were on the way out.) Peyton said. Rejoining Brooke.
