Chapter 5: Awkward dinner.
Hello, everyone! This is chapter 5, I really hope you like it! If you see any kind of mistakes, please let me know and I'll fix it! Thanks for all your reviews, alerts and faves!
P.O.V Quinn
Now is time for me and Puck to show all the Glee Clubbers our duet. Puck looked at me and held my again, then he said:
― Are you ready, baby?
― Let's do this!
We stood up and I started to talk:
― We are going to sing "Someday I Will Understand" by Britney Spears.
― Hey, that's me! ―Said Brittany.
― We're going to sing that song because Quinn and I have something very strong in common: Beth. ―Said Puck.
― And this song represents the situation perfectly, because we love her, and we hope someday she will understand why we decided to giver her, though it's hard for us. ―I said.
Quinn: Nothing seems to be the way
That it used to
Everything seems shallow
God give me truth
In me
And tell me somebody's watching
Over me
And that is all I'm praying is that
Someday I will understand
In God's whole plan
And what he's done to me
Oh but maybe
Someday I will breathe
And I'll finally see
I'll see it all in my baby
Puck: Don't you run so fast my dear
Why don't you stop?
Just stop and listen to your tears
They're all you've got
It's in you
You see somebody is watching
Over you
And that is all I'm praying is that
Someday you will understand
In God's whole plan
And what he does to you
Oh but maybe
Someday you will breathe
And you'll finally see
You'll see it all in your baby
You'll see it all in your baby
Both: No moment
Will be more true
Than the moment
I look at you
It's in you
You see somebody is watching
Over you
And that is all I'm praying is that
Someday you will understand
In God's whole plan
And what he does to you
Oh but maybe
Someday you will breathe
And you'll finally see
You'll see it all in your baby
You'll see it all in your baby
You'll see it all in your baby
You'll see it all in your baby
When the song ended, I was crying, like the first time I sang this with him. Puck noticed that and he hugged me. Then, all the Glee Clubbers were saying things like: "Awwww, so cute" or "Eww, just don't". We could see that Mr. Schuester was happy with our song, because he said:
―Wow, guys, this was so amazing! You two really captured the idea of this assignment and you sang a song that explains what you're feeling deep in your heart. Congratulations!
― But, Mr. Schue, "Can't Be Tamed" also explains what we're feeling deep inside and it's a very good thing Lauren and I have in common. ―Said Santana.
― Also, Sam and I had to choose that song because that's what we have in common. He didn't got me pregnant or something. ―Said Tina.
― Can't you just shut up? Puck and Quinn did an awesome job, let them have their moment. ― Said Kurt.
― Kurt's right guys, you all did an awesome job, but I loved how deep Puck and Quinn's song was. ―Said Mr. Schuester.
Suddenly, the bell rang.
― Well guys, see you in the next class! Bye!
I was walking off the choir room when I felt Puck's hand in my shoulder and turned around.
― Hey babe, we rocked at the assignment! ―Said Puck.
― Rachel and Mercedes did an excellent job with "When I Grow Up", also…
― Yeah, but it wasn't as profound as our song.
― But my voice isn't as good as Rachel's.
― Stop complaining! We rocked!
― Well, yeah…
― And I have to say, I almost peed my pants with Sam and Tina and their "God Bless America" thing. It was pathetic.
― You wanted to sing "Hot as Ice" at first. That would be even more pathetic. ―I said giggling.
― Well… That was just an option… And as I said before, that song rocks.
― Yeah, well, it's kinda catchy…
― But "Someday I Will Understand" is just genius! If there was a gift for the winners, we have should totally win that winner at Breadstix…
― Are you inviting me to Breadstix?
― That sounds good, princess, and it's like a tradition in Glee that every couple should go to a date to that place…
― I really don't know what's the special thing about that place, but when I'm with you, everything is special to me.
― Damn, Quinn, I love you so so so so so much!
We shared a sweet kiss, and then I whispered to him:
― We are supposed to be in class now…
― Oh…
― But I'll see you later. Remember today you're having dinner at my house…
― Oh yes, I've been practicing in a mirror.
― Really?
― Yes. I told you I was going to do it. And I'm never going to lie to you.
I just smiled and said:
― See you later, Puck!
I reached in the classroom, where my Geography teacher was giving class.
― Miss Fabray, you're late.
― I know. Sorry.
I sat down in class trying to pay attention, but I couldn't, and that's because a certain person I couldn't stop thinking about.
Finally school is over for today and I'm going to look for Kurt. When I found him, he ran to me and smiled.
― Girl! I've been looking for you everywhere! ―Said Kurt.
― Me too!
― Hey, you gotta tell me all about Puck's surprise with a certain You-Know-Who that isn't Voldemort! You haven't told me yet!
― Oh, Kurt, it was awesome! He took me to see Beth!
― Holy crap! Are you serious?
― Of course I am, Kurtie!
― Oh, Quinnie, tell me how it was!
― Well, that day was so emotional, seeing her for the first time since I gave her was shocking... I cried and Puck cried too…
― Wow, it's hard to picture him crying…
― Yeah… It's the first time I see him crying.
― And… Did he say something about your dress?
― Yes! He loved it!
― I told you!
I smiled at him and Kurt smiled back.
― And what happened after you two saw Beth? ―Asked Kurt.
― We hugged and he wiped my tears with a napkin. Then he took me to eat ice cream.
― Awwww, that sounds cute!
― Yeah, it was so cute…
We kept smiling at each other, when I watched the clock and saw the time.
― Kurt, let's run before we miss the school-bus!
We ran and luckily, the bus wasn't gone yet. I sat next to Kurt and told him:
― Kurt, please promise me you won't tell this to anyone. You know how fast rumours spread in McKinley, and also, how fast they change them.
― I swear Madonna, I won't tell this anybody!
P.O.V Puck
I got home and started studying History. I want to get an A in that exam, or at least a B, so I can show to Quinn how much I have changed. I studied for two hours, and then I started to practice in the mirror. I am really scared. What would happen if Quinn's mom doesn't like me? Or if I screw it up saying how many times I have fucked? Or if Quinn's mom doesn't allow Quinn to see me more? I don't even know what to wear. I opened my closet and start reviewing my clothes. What kind of clothes will impress Quinn's mom? I need to do something about it and I know the perfect person that can help me. Kurt. I dialled his number and waited for him to answer.
"Hello?"
"Hey Kurt! It's Puck"
"Ohh, hi, Puck!"
"I need you to help me"
"Let me guess. You don't know what to wear in your dinner with Quinn and Judy?"
"Judy? Who's Judy?"
"Man, Judy is Quinn's mom"
"Ohhh, that explains it all! Yes, that's what's happening… Yo, are some kind of adivinator?"
"Hahaha Puck, 'adivinator' isn't even a word"
"I know. But it sounds cool, like one of that Doofenshmirtz' inventions"
"Is that the mad scientist guy from 'Phineas and Ferb'?"
"Yep"
"Haha, that cartoon is hilarious"
"Yes it is! And I have a Perry the Platypus shirt!"
"Sounds cool, but don't even think of wearing that tonight"
"Ohhhh, what should I wear, then?"
"Something elegant and classy. Do you have dressing pants?"
"I guess I have but I don't know where…"
"Find them! Also, you need to wear a long-sleeve buttoned shirt and a tie"
"I have some ties"
"Also, a dress-jacket will be perfect"
"Kurt, I don't think I have all of this crap"
"Oh damn, seriously?"
"Yeah, I'll try to find them though"
"I could borrow you some clothes, but they wouldn't fit you…"
"Let me see if I have something. Thanks a lot, bro!"
"It was nothing! Call me if you need anything else"
"I will. Bye!"
I hung up and started to look for those things in my closet. I have the tie, the pants and the long-sleeve buttoned shirt, but I don't have a dressy jacket. I don't think it's so necessarily for me to bring one. I'm ready to go to Quinn's house, but I'm so freaking nervous. I took a photo of myself and I sent it to Kurt. I can't believe I'm doing this…
"Do I look OK?"
"Yes, Mr"
I got in my car and started to drive to Quinn's place. When I was almost there, crap, I forgot the name of Quinn's mom. I may need it, so I texted Kurt.
"Yo, what's Quinn's mom's name? I forgot :S"
"Hahahaha, it looks that you don't have a good memory… Her name is Judy"
"Right. Thanks, pal!"
"Anytime"
I parked my car in front of Quinn's house and walked to the door. I stood there for five minutes before ringing the bell. I am so scared, I think I'm shivering. But I have to do it for her. For us.
I finally rang the bell and Judy opened the door.
― Hello, Noah, you came just in time. Come on in. ―Said Judy.
― Thanks, Ms.
Oh crap. I'm blocked. I can't call to her "Judy", because she could think I'm not polite, and I can't call her "Mrs Fabray" because she and Quinn's dad-whose-I-don't-know-his-name broke up, and I don't even know her last name. Haha, that sounded like that Carrie Underwood song that April Rhodes sang the same day we performed Somebody to Love by Queen. So, I just said "Ms". I hope that works…
― Noah, I'm happy to see you. ―Said Judy.
― M-me too. ―I said.
― Sit down at the table, I'll bring the food. I made tomato soup for entrance and Cesar salad for main dish. Do you like it?
― Of course!
― Quinn told me to make pasta or hamburgers, or something with bacon, you know she loves bacon, but I told her that I can't make those things for this dinner. And I know you definitely prefer to eat healthy things, right?
― Sure!
Crap. I don't like tomato soup or Cesar salad… But I have to eat it… I'm going to think I'm eating chocolate, or a hot dog. I noticed Quinn looked at me with a worried face, but as a reply, I just smiled.
Judy brought the dinner and we all started to eat.
― Tell me, Noah, what do you want to study in college? ―Asked Judy.
― Emm… Study?... I don't know.
― Oh, you should start to think what you're going to study. Graduation seems to be far away from now, but believe me, it's very near, and you have to think about your future. What are your plans?
Man, I feel like I'm being interrogated… What the heck am I supposed to tell to her?
― Mmmm, my plans? I want to raise a happy family in a pretty house, and you know, have kids and stuff. ―I said.
― And what about college? Don't you want to have a career? ―Asked Judy.
― O-of course I will, but I don't know what I'm going to study yet…
― Oh, I understand that. And how about your school grades? ―Asked Judy.
― My school grades?
― Yes. I assume you are a good student, right?
― Well, I'm not the best student, but I'm also not the worst.
― Do you study hard for your exams?
― Mmmm, today I was studying for my History test before going here…
― Mom, stop interrogating him… ―Said Quinn.
― Noah, are you uncomfortable with this conversation? ―Asked Quinn's mom.
― Me? No, no. I'm good! ―I replied.
Hell, between Judy's questions and this soup, I think I'm going to throw up…
― So, Noah, what are you interested in? ―Asked Judy.
― Well, I love music. I can sing and play the guitar pretty cool. I am also in the football team. ―I replied.
― Yes, mommy. Puck is an excellent performer! ―Said Quinn.
― Noah, why do people call you Puck? ―Asked Judy.
Shoot. Now what am I going to say? I can't say what I tell to everyone. If I tell to Quinn's mama that I like Puck because it is a "badass name", I'm sure she's going to kick me out.
― Mom, it's just his nickname. His last name is Puckerman, so people call him Puck for short. ―Said Quinn.
― Oh, I understand that, but "Puck" sounds like a vandal name. ―Said Judy.
― Just let it go, mom… ―Said Quinn.
― All right, but Noah, why do you have that thing on your hear? ―Asked Judy.
― You mean my Mohawk?
― Yes, that thing. ―Said Judy.
― Oh, well, I… ―I said.
― MOM! ―Exclaimed Quinn.
We kept talking and eating. Cesar Salad wasn't that bad. I'm sure it was better than the tomato soup. I don't really know if Judy liked me. It looks like she wants a perfect student diploma guy, and I'm not that kind…
Dinner is finally over and I said bye to Judy.
― It's been a pleasure, Noah. ―Said Judy.
― The pleasure is mine, Ms. ― I replied.
― You can call me Judy. Goodbye! See you soon.
At least now I know that I can call her Judy. That will be easier.
Quinn accompanied me to get my car, and when I was almost going away, she said softly:
― See me tomorrow at Breadstix. 7:30pm.
― I'll be there, princess.
This was the fifth chapter, please review and let me know what you think! I think there are one or two chapters more besides this, but if you give me ideas, I will make it longer. It's up to you…
Which chapter is your favorite so far?
I will update soon.
Love you all!
