Chapter 21
I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling .
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you a heart worth breaking .
Later on that night
I found Lindsey seated at a back table in one of my favorite resturants in town. She left it up for me to choose.
Taking a deep breath i sat down across from her.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop.
She let me decide appetizers. Thanking me for showing up at all.
Given how busy we both are and how late the invite was.
"I appreciate you wanting to spend some time together."
"It must be weird for you. Meeting the me under these circumstances." Lindsey proclaimed.
"Lucas and I aren't together. He's free to do whatever he wants." Brooke replied.
"I hope we can end up being friends. I think that would be ideal."
"I care about Lucas. None of this is a game or with any motive other then me falling for a guy i wasn't supposed too." Lindsey explained.
Damn. My hatred of Lindsey Strauss barely made it past the entree.

Lucas had held on to this hidden keepsake from his past relationship with Brooke and decided it was time for her to have it. He left it on her porch then went back to his house.

Brooke eventually made it back to her home. She was shocked to find a box addressed to her from Lucas.
She brought the box the note off the top.
Unfolded it and started to read.
