Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreamin'
I recall it all so clearly. The delivery room. The pain. I practically tore off Lucas's hand and arm from clinging to him so tightly.
Omce my hospital bag was in the car and i remembered my breathing from birthing classes.
Lucas drove us to the hospital.
I was met with my doctor. My hospital room all booked and waiting.
You were in a rush. You wanted to be in the world.
Lucas was by my side. Through the contractions and giving me an object to focus on. As i labored and tried to prepare myself for what was about to happen.
No time for drugs. You were on the way and i was ready to meet you. We both were.
I pushed for a few hours. It was such an out of body experience. The bright lights. The multi colored wallpaper.
The cots nearby.
The doctor shouted "Its a girl!"
As you were placed in my arms. Crying and moving around.
We locked eyes. I fell in love wiith you.
Blond hair hazel eyes.
Our Langston Penelope Davis Scott.
Before i could catch my breath. 10 minutes later another baby was in my arms.
A girl. We named you Morgan. Morgan Karen Davis Scott.
Unlike you're sister you had blue eyes and dark straight hair.
