If our hearts are never broken and there's no joy in the mending
There's so much this hurt can teach us both,
Awhile Later
Brooke was still in come shock and awe over delivering twins.
Lucas was in the hospital room keeping a close eye on the girls.
"If you need to sleep i'll be here. This is incredible."
"They are beautiful so perfect." Lucas stated matter of fact.
Brooke peered over at them. Sleeping now.
"I know i insisted you be around for the pregnancy. And the delivery."
"But you are free to go back to you're own life now."
"What i want raising them on my own is still what i picture." Brooke announced.
"I think i got my hopes up. Between the kiss and you not returning. My letters. I thought maybe you changed you're mind." Lucas replied.
Brooke felt her twisting and turning.
"I love you Lucas and i probably always will."
"Especially with what you've given me." She sighed deeply.
Knowing what she truly wanted to say.
"I can't do this again. I love you. I'm in love with you."
"I want us to be a family." Brooke confessed.
Lucas sighed deeply. "Lindsey and I are engaged." he announced.
Brooke didn't know how to respond. And as if they could sense it.
Her heart sinking. That explains it. Why she went out of her way to speak with me. Lindsey was marking her territory.
Morgan and Langston started to cry.
"I've got it. Lucas you can go. No need to keep Lindsey waiting." Brooke replied.
Even though she couldn't even look him in the eye now.
