Everyone was sitting in the student union enjoying dinner. "So what are we doing about living arrangements next year?" Elise asked looking at her phone. Housing was emailing everyone who lived on campus to see where they wanted to be next year.
"I was thinking about that too. What if we get an apartment?" Maria proposed. "That way we don't have to follow housing rules" she nudged Altair who was sitting next to her.
"Oh Arno, you can spend the night" Elise gave him a side hug.
Aveline rolled her eyes "We need soundproof walls"
Evie nodded "I like that idea but since it will be the four of us what if we get a house? It will be more room"
"A house is a good idea" Ezio piped up. "Leo lives in one with his friends and he likes it. There are plenty to rent around here."
"Okay, I guess we can go house hunting this week?" Evie asked looking at her roommates. Blessed they were all living together. They all agreed. "Jacob what are you guys doing next year"
Jacob sighed "We found out we must live on campus since we are on the soccer team. If you move off campus you lose your scholarship"
"But we'll, be together" Alexios's face lit up. Glad to finally have stability in his life.
"What about your friend Oswald he's on the team and has a house," Evie asked remembering all the parties that were there.
"Yeah, but Oswald like Sigurd," Eivor said putting his pizza down. "Is rich and doesn't need scholarship money." Eivor was a bit jealous of that.
"Anyways we'll still be RAs in Homestead" Desmond smiled happily all his friends weren't graduating and they would be together another year.
"Can't wait" Malik said sarcastically.
"It'll be fun" Altair smiled. He was excited that the next year was his senior year.
For the rest of dinner, everyone joked about what to expect for next year. They were all excited about what the future held.
"Okay here is the first house" Aveline pulled into the gravel driveway. The house was a bit dingy looking. It was one story and looked like it was built in the eighties. There was a baby pool out front which was a bit random. There was also another car pulled in. It looked like a race car with the number eighteen plastered on the side of it. All the girls got out of the car and were then greeted by an eccentric-looking guy who looked around their age.
"What up I'm Hurk!" He walked closer and was wearing pants with stars and stripes and a t-shirt with sleeves torn off with an eagle on it. He looked like Fourth of July's baby.
"Hey, I'm Aveline, this is Evie, Maria, and Elise. You said this place was for rent" All the girls gave an awkward wave.
"What in the white trash" Maria whispered to Evie. Evie just shrugged. Elise looked horrified she was not one to look trashy.
"Yup! My mom owns this place and I have lived here all four years but now I'm graduating, and she said I need to get people to move in here." he smiled. He was surprised he survived four years, but he did it. "Here come on in and I'll give you a tour!"
All the girls followed him as they walked in. He opened the door, and they were expecting the worst but were pleasantly surprised at how nice the interior was. The living area and kitchen were a bit dated looking, but they were kept in nice shape. There was wood paneling and shag carpet everywhere but the kitchen. The common room had two hallways on the left and right.
"Looks nice," Maria said. She didn't mind the eighties look. Elise on the other hand was not a fan.
"Thanks, my mom said if my roommates and I didn't keep the house nice, she would rip off our balls" He smiled. "So, this is the living area and kitchen let me show you the rooms and bathrooms. As you know, it's four bedrooms and two bathrooms."
They walked down the right and stopped in front of the first room. Hurk knocked on the door. "Hey, Sharkey. We have the people that are looking at the house"
A shuffling was heard, and another guy answered the door. "Hey, I'm Sharkey" He looked similar to Hurk but skinner.
"Yup that's Sharkey, my cousin. "Now here is his room" All the girls peeked their heads in. The walls were white, and the floor had shag carpet. Shakey's room was messy but in a kept-up way.
"It's nice," Aveline said. She liked the size it was bigger than the dorm room.
"Perfect. Let's move onto my room" Hurk walked down the hall and the other side. He opened the door and the girls looked in. It was normal for the most part except for an American flag with a monkey-looking shrine on one side of the room.
"I'm sorry but what is that?" Maria just blurted out. She did not want to see another cult thing.
"Oh, that!" Hurk looked over. "That's my monkey god shrine" He turned back to them casually.
"Okay" Elise just said. "What's the bathroom look like?" She wanted to be done with this tour. Hurk showed them the bathroom and it was average looking. They then went to the other side where one of the rooms was bigger.
"Okay, so my friend Ajay lives here. I let him have the bigger room since his mom died last year. He's at class right now" Hurk opened the door. The room was bigger and nicer. "Okay, next room is Jason's" They all walked over to it and saw it was also normal looking. "Jason is a badass" Hurk randomly said.
The girls then had the rest of the tour and saw the bathroom and laundry room. It would be nice to do their laundry and not worry about people snatching their stuff. Hurk was hilarious to them though he was brutally honest. He kept telling them hilarious stories and how the cult Eden's Gate kicked him and Sharkey out. "So anyways rent will be $400 a person per month. The lease will be from May to May unless you keep living here."
"Thank you we will keep that in mind," Aveline said typing everything down. The girls then left and loaded into Aveline's car.
"I like the house" Maria admitted.
"Same it's reasonable" Evie agreed. She did not want to pay up the butt for rent. She knew she would be getting a job next year.
"I don't know that place was weird" Aveline admitted pulling out of the driveway and started driving to the other house.
"I agree" Elise rushed in. "The place was so old looking"
"Yeah but it's cheap" Maria argued back.
Aveline then pulled into a concrete driveway of a much more modern-looking house "Okay well let's see this house"
"I like this house" Elise stated as she got out. Maria just rolled her eyes.
The girls then walked to the front door and Aveline knocked. A girl about their age answered it. "Hey, I'm Ash. I'm guessing you guys are here to see the house"
"Yes," Aveline smiled and introduced herself and her roommates. Ash then led them in. The house was extremely modern looking and clean.
Ash noticed Elise seemed to be enjoying the modern décor "Yeah my roommates and I decided to make the house state of the art watch this. Hey Bagley"
A computer voice then came through an intercom "Hello Ash what can I do for you?"
Ash then started giving the computer commands and it listened. "Yeah, my roommate Nam made the computer system. She's a computer science major and is making an AI for her thesis."
Elise's face lit up "This is amazing. What else do you have to offer"
Ash smiled and gave them the rest of the tour. The house was a similar layout to Hurk's house but ten times nicer and newer. The house even had one extra bathroom. Everything was just beyond nice Evie and Maria felt weird here. "So anyways that's the tour. Basically, we're all graduating or transferring so the landlord Harry wants us to help find someone for here."
"It's nice," Evie said trying to imply that she and Maria did not want to be here.
"So how much is rent?" Maria just bluntly asked.
"It's $1000," Ash said.
"Oh for everyone?" Aveline asked not sure that was right.
"Oh no, I'm sorry a $1000 per person" Ash corrected herself. Evie and Maria turned pale at that. There was no way in hell they could pay that.
"Well thank you" Maria broke in. "I guess we'll go talk about it and see"
"That's fine." Ash shrugged "Thanks for coming"
All the girls said goodbye. They all got into Aveline's SUV. "We are not staying there," Maria said bluntly.
"Why not?" Elise looked at her angrily. "It's a million times nicer than that white trash castle"
"It wasn't that bad" Evie argued. "Elise you realize we can't stay there. Maria and I don't have that money" Evie wished she was rich but sadly was not.
"I hate to say this but yeah Elise that is way too much even for me" Aveline admitted. Yeah her parents were rich but would die at that price to have three roommates.
Elise crossed her arms "Fine" she relented "but we are remodeling it"
"Works for me" Maria smiled.
That night they contacted Hurk and told him they wanted the place. Hurk then gave them his mom's number. They call it up and she was surprisingly nice and was all for them remodeling the place. She sent over the paperwork and told them they could move in May. The girls also gave Elise the bigger room since they did feel bad. Elise also said she would pay for the remodeling. That night it was decided that Maria would stay over the summer and help out with the house. She did not want to go back to England. Evie was beyond glad she got the house with them.
"We need to get suits" Arno walked into the common room where the boys were watching tv.
Eivor paused the tv and looked at Arno "What?"
Arno rolled his eyes having to repeat himself "We need outfits for the Formal. Everyone is going to dress nice and I don't want to look like a loser."
"Yeah but that involves effort," Alexios said. He was not one to dress up.
"I wanna wear a suit" Jacob's face lit up. He had never dressed up like this.
"I guess you make a point" Eivor sighed. "Can we bring dates?"
"Yes," Arno smiled. He of course was bringing Elise.
"I'll text Randvi," Eivor said grabbing his phone. He figured she would prefer a text message over a cheesy promposal as Sigurd did in high school.
"I guess I can dress. Nice, where are we going" Alexios asked.
"The mall of course!" Arno exclaimed. "I'll text the girls and see if they wanna join us"
That weekend they all piled into Aveline's SUV. It was super tight since Alexios joined them. Aveline was sure they were being squished but oh well. The mall was a small drive but they made it.
"I can't wait" Arno jumped out of the SUV.
"For real!" Elise smiled. "Let's start shopping."
"Hang on remember not all of us are made of money" Maria added. "We will be going to cheaper stores or the discount section"
Everyone agreed to that thankful for Maria's bluntness. The first store they walked into was a Von Maur. A luxury department store. There were fancy outfits everywhere due to it being prom season.
"I love that brown and black dress!" Elise ran over to a ballgown. It was gorgeous.
Arno saw a gray suit "That looks nice!"
"Well, why don't we all find outfits and then show them off to one another" Evie suggested. Everyone agreed and spilt off.
"Jacob help me" Eivor walked up to him. Jacob was looking at a fancy black suit.
"Wait for real" Jacob looked at him shocked. He always thought Eivor dressed better than him.
"Yes I wanna impress Randvi but I also don't want to look like I'm trying too hard you know?" Eivor did not want to scare Randiv away. He knew he was head over heels in love with her.
"I got you" Jacob patted his shoulder. Alexios then joined them and they looked around. Alexios found a white suit which he really liked.
"Okay, I'm trying this on" He pulled it out of the rack.
"Looks good" Jacob nodded. Then found Eivor a dark blue suit.
On the other side of the store, Evie and Maria were looking. "I don't wanna do too much," Maria said pushing a frilly dress out of the way.
"Oh come did you ever have a formal where you had to dress up," Evie asked looking at a rose gold dress.
"I did and I skipped it" Maria remembered how she and Robert would sneak off instead and get plastered.
Evie chuckled rolling her eyes "Well I don't like dressing up either but it is fun for one night. What do you think this dress" Evie pulled the Rose Gold Dress out. It was glittery under certain light but not too much.
Maria analyzed it and nodded "I think you should try it on. What about this dress." She pulled out a copper-looking dress made of satin.
"I like it! It's so unique" Evie touched the material.
"Well, I guess we try them on," Maria said. The boys decided to go first. All the girls sat outside the men's dressing room waiting for the boys. They were sitting on a couple of couches and there were chairs littered throughout. Arno came out first wearing his gray suit.
"What do you think" He personally liked the way it looked and fit. He was hoping he looked good though.
"Do a spin" Maria told him moving her hand in a spin way.
Arno rolled his eyes and did a spin. "Well?" Arno looked at Elise he wanted her opinion out of everyone.
"I like it" she smiled looking at him up and down. She was glad he wanted to look good for her.
The other girls agreed and Arno then waited with them to see the next person which was Alexios. Alexios walked out nervous they would mock him and say he looked awful.
"Looks amazing" Aveline admired. She always liked it when guys would wear different-colored suits instead of black.
Alexios face lit up "Really?" not sure he heard right.
"Yeah, dude it looks great!" Arno said.
"Well, I'm wearing this then." Alexios then took a seat. "Okay Jacob your turn"
Jacob then walked out in his classy suit. "I feel like a king" he boasted.
Everyone nodded and Evie spoke up "You actually look good"
"Thanks, sister" Jacob smiled at her. "I hope you can find something". Jacob then took a seat next to her.
Evie rolled her eyes "Whatever okay Eivor your turn!"
Eivor then walked out. "Well," he put his hands and gave a spin. Everyone was a bit quiet.
"It's umm" Elise started.
Jacob then burst into laughter. "You look like you're wearing a smurfs skin"
"Jacob!" Evie screamed at him. She then turned to Eivor "It's not the best"
"You might wanna find something else" Arno suggested feeling bad.
Eivor then sighed "Aww crap okay. I'm glad you guys are being honest"
All the boys then went back to the changing room. Jacob, Arno, and Eivor decided to buy their suits. Eivor put his back dejected but he knew he could find another one. The girls then went over to the girls changing room and got into their outfits. The boys sat outside the changing room waiting.
"Hey" Alexios sat next to Eivor, "I think the outfit was okay"
"Thanks" Eivor smiled at him. "I think I now want a navy outfit"
"Navy is superior," Arno said. The boys waited for the girls first came out Elise.
"I feel like a mummy wrapped up in this thing" she breathed heavily. Her dress was long sleeve that was black with brown accents.
"It's nice," Jacob said. He was already bored. He wished he brought his tablet.
"That's it! It's nice" Elise snapped at him. "Evie, Maria, Aveline come out here we are judging each other instead."
"Elise you look amazing" Arno assured her.
"I know I look great but I need my roommates to make sure," Elise told him. Evie, Maria, and Aveline then walked out. "Oh my gosh, you guys look amazing!" Evie was wearing the pink dress, Maria the copper, and Aveline black pantsuits.
"I don't know" Evie sighed. "I don't think Rosegold is my color" She looked at herself in the mirror.
"You do look washed out," Jacob said right off the bat. "You need another color"
"Thanks" Evie rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I'm not feeling this dress" Maria looked at herself. She needed another color.
"I don't know about yall but I look amazing" Aveline admired herself in the mirror.
"Well I love my dress and Aveline likes hers. We just need to get Evie, Eivor, and Maria an outfit" Elise admired herself again. Yeah, she would be turning heads.
"Alright, can we hurry I'm bored" Jacob complained. He found his outfit and was ready to go.
"I think there's an arcade here. I can take Jacob" Arno said. He saw Elise and he was good to go.
"Okay sounds good." Evie agreed her brother needed to do something else. "Alexios come with us we still need a guys touch"
Alexios looked touched "Sure!"
Everyone that found an outfit checked out. The group then split up. They decided they would meet for dinner at the cafeteria. The girls Eivor and Alexios headed to another store. Evie and Maria had Aveline helping them. Alexios and Elise were helping Eivor.
"So what are you guys looking for exactly?" Aveline asked as Evie and Maria were going through racks.
Maria went first "I want something that makes me look powerful. I want Altair to be impressed and mesmerized" Maria could see it now. Her looking like a badass queen.
Aveline nodded "Okay Evie"
"I don't know" she sighed "I just want to look good"
"Oh, I found it!" Maria pulled out a silver floor lengthed dress. It was stunning. "Alright Evie let's find your dress"
The girls looked and looked and they finally found a red ball gown. "It's stunning" Evie touched the material.
"Well try it on!" Aveline encouraged her.
Maria and Evie hurried to the dressing room excitedly. Eivor then went and tried on his outfit. All three of them then met Elise, Aveline, and Alexios sitting on a couch.
"Well," Evior asked once again. he knew he looked amazing in his Navy blue suit.
"Stunning," Aveline told him.
"Yeah, I like it" Alexios complimented him.
"I feel amazing" Maria spun around again and her swooshed around her.
"You look like a knight" Elise pointed out.
Maria's face then lit up "Perfect"
"I feel like I'm wearing an inferno contraption" Evie panted. This dress was tight on her.
"It looks great though. Everyone will love it at the Formal" Aveline assured her.
"Good because that is the only time I'm wearing this" Evie sighed. She did love how classy she looked. She felt like she and Jacob looked like they were from Victorian England.
Elise then clapped her hand "Perfect we all found our outfits! I'm so excited!" She wasn't even in the Brotherhood but was excited to dance with Arno.
Everyone then checked out their outfits excited for the Formal Dance. They then met with Arno and Jacob and got dinner. Jacob was a bit full from all the samples he ate. That night they all talked about the dance and how excited they were. Evie could not wait to see Henry. Eivor was excited to take Randvi out and treat her right. Maria gushed about Altair. Arno and Elise talked about how they would dance. Jacob and Alexios made a joke they were starting a single guys club. However the whole time, Aveline was quiet. She was nervous about the formal since Conner would be there. She could only imagine how nice he was going to look in formal attire. She knew she had to ask him out soon. They both liked each other clearly and were about to get further on the dance floor if weren't for Evie (Thankfully). When they got back to the dorm Aveline decided she was asking Conner to the Formal.
"Hey are you good," Evie asked as the girls entered their room.
"I'm asking Conner out and I'm nervous," Aveline told them as she set her bag down on the table.
"Hell yeah" Maria cheered "About time"
"For real" Elise added "When are you doing it?"
"Now" Avelien then walked out of the room and to Conner's room. She didn't even wait to hear her roommate's reactions. Her heart was beating a mile a minute. She seriously had no idea why she was so nervous but before she knew it she was at Conner's door. She took a deep breath and knocked.
Conner then opened the door "Aveline?" he asked. He was shocked she was here and nervous. They got extremely close at the club he was glad Evie accidentally slapped him mistaking him for a creep.
"We are going to the formal together. I'm tired of beating around the bush. We got pretty close on the dance floor and normal friends don't do that" Aveline blurted out. "I like you too and we have good chemistry but if you're not ready that's fine." She then kept going but Conner interrupted her.
"Aveline! Aveline" She finally stopped and Conner spoke "I like you too I wouldn't have gotten that close to you if I didn't like you"
"Oh, good" Aveline just said shocked that this worked out. "I mean yeah of course you like me. We made out like Arno and Elise" She was spitballing at this point.
"And I enjoyed it," Conner said. "But I've been getting help on emotions and romance and all that and I'm ready to be with you. I'll pick you up for the Formal" Conner was glad he was ready. He felt bad Dobby had been in the middle but the last he heard she was fine.
Aveline whole face lit up "That would be amazing thank you". She then waved goodbye and walked back to her room. She couldn't believe that she and Conner were going to the formal. She felt bad she had strung Gerlad around but in fairness, she thought he was the one. She went back to her room and told her roommates the news and they were beyond excited. Conner had texted Ezio and told him about Aveline. Ezio was beyond glad about that. He was glad his boy Conner was finally with his dream girl.
