I'd do Ghost of Maiden Peak but it's pretty cringe looking back, and it doesn't really add to the plot at all, don't believe it's ever referenced again anyway. So here's Bye-Bye Butterfree.
"Well I'd have liked to see the story about these giant Pokemon but it seems this screen has other ideas." May said, seeing that the picture appeared to show Butterfree all together.
"Honestly, it wasn't anything too exciting by the end of it all." Brock assured her.
The scene opened on the trio heading to a cliff, seeing a narrow path that led to Saffron City and the next gym challenge for Ash, before noticing a swarm of nearby Butterfree. Brock explained it was the Butterfree Season of love and their mating season, Ash remarked about how his Butterfree could join it, as Brock told him that if Butterfree wasn't allowed to join it and go across the sea with another Butterfree, it would never have babies.
"Well you have to make sure Butterfree finds a partner!" Dawn insisted.
"You'll see what happened with it." Misty teased.
"I hope Butterfree found another Butterfree to love." Bonnie stated.
They hopped into a hot air balloon and went to the Butterfree, letting Butterfree go try find a mate, not finding one it liked as other trainers came in the air too and let their Butterfree go, looking for mates. Brock noticed a cute trainer releasing hers and ordered Butterfree to pair with her Butterfree so he could meet the trainer, before Misty hit him and told Butterfree to try again, looking for a Butterfree it could love.
"Go do it Butterfree!" Clemont cheered for it.
"You can do it!" Max insisted, seeing Butterfree try and fail with a few.
"You can't just expect Butterfree to choose its life partner to make you have a chance with a woman, Brock!" May scolded him, grabbing Brock by the ear and dragging him around the room, Brock protesting the entire time.
Butterfree spotted a pink Butterfree it felt an instant attraction too, flying over to it and dancing around it, Brock explained that it was the courtship dance for Butterfree who liked other Butterfree to let them know, the pink Butterfree flew high above the others, Ash's Butterfree followed, still dancing for her, as she slapped him and flew even higher. The trio yelled that she was being mean and unfair as Butterfree, tears in its eyes, descended into then nearby woods, Ash calling for it as it left.
"Aww Butterfree!" Bonnie cheered, seeing it found another Butterfree it liked.
"Why isn't she returning Butterfree's feelings?" May asked, seeing Butterfree looking dejected.
"She didn't think Ash's Butterfree was good enough for her." Misty said, looking sad as well, remembering all of this.
Meeting up with Butterfree, Brock told it how heartbreak felt, Misty mocked him about how failing at love could be his autobiography, before explaining how to get love, Brock seemed shocked and said he had to try all of this. Ash said to give it another try before Brock gave Butterfree a makeover with a scarf, the trio saying it looked great as Butterfree had its confidence restored to try again with the pink Butterfree.
"Butterfree looks amazing, I hope it has the confidence now to get that other Butterfree!" Dawn cheered for it.
Trying again with the pink Butterfree, Butterfree showed off several of its attacks, not impressing it. As they wondered what they could suggest for Butterfree next, a helicopter rose up behind all the balloons, deploying a net and capturing the mating Butterfree within it, piloted by Team Rocket, who announced themselves before smarting that the "twerps" were already there.
"Why are you always here to ruin everything?" Serena yelled at James.
"It's not like we knew the twerps were there! We just wanted all the Butterfree for the boss!" James defended himself.
"Stealing is wrong!" Bonnie cried.
"At least they're worried they've spotted you guys." May grinned at Misty, who returned it.
Team Rocket grabbed the Butterfree and escaped, as Ash's Butterfree attempted to Tackle the helicopter with no success, the helicopter easily outpacing the hot air balloon. As the trio descended from the clouds into a mountainous area, Butterfree came back to them, leading them to where Team Rocket had landed.
"Go show them whose boss, Butterfree!" Dawn cheered.
"Hey, we managed to capture all of them but one!" James protested. "I think we did pretty well for once!"
Max looked to Misty and Brock, seeing them sporting identical looks of glee.
"Why are you two so happy about this?"
"Oh you'll see." Brock promised with a laugh.
Team Rocket laughed about how they had succeeded with one of their schemes for once, thinking of how happy Giovanni would be, Meowth said he'd be top cat again, favoured over Persian, when the windows smashed around them, alarming them as they asked who was there.
"What's going on?" Clemont asked.
"About to give them a taste of their own medicine." Misty told him.
"Top cat? Really?" Bonnie asked James who shrugged.
"I've no idea why he thought the Boss would toss aside his own Persian for Meowth."
"Prepare for trouble." Ash said, hidden largely in shadow.
"Oh my Arceus." May gasped.
"You're not..." Serena blinked.
"They are!" Dawn smirked.
"And you can make that triple." Misty joined in.
"Yes!" Everyone cheered, laughing at the screen and the look of utter defeat on James' face in the room itself.
"To protect the world from devastation." Brock said, using a torch to light his face.
"To unite all peoples within our nation!" Misty and Ash called out in unison as Team Rocket moaned it was too good to be true.
"I can't wait to see that done again other times." Bonnie smiled.
"Oh I'm sure it will be." James bemoaned.
Misty sent out Starmie to assist as Butterfree attacked Team Rocket, Jessie hit Starmie with a sledgehammer, bashing it against a wall, before Misty, armed with a water canon, rehydrated Starmie, Butterfree kept attacking the net with Tackle, as the pink Butterfree watched, clearly falling for Butterfree, until the net eventually broke.
"YOU HIT A POKEMON WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER?!" The ones who weren't there screamed at James.
"Hey, I didn't do that!" James protested. "I agree with you for the record, that's despicable."
Team Rocket rushed into the helicopter and took off again, chasing the Butterfree whilst the trio gave chase in the hot air balloon. Pikachu hopped onto Butterfree's back and leapt onto the helicopter, smiling at Team Rocket before electrocuting the helicopter, exploding the chopper and sending Team Rocket blasting off down a chasm as Pikachu hopped onto Butterfree's back again.
"YAY BUTTERFREE AND PIKACHU!" Bonnie cheered.
"It's psychotic how Pikachu smiled at us before frying the chopper." James grimaced.
"Yeah, looking back on it all, Pikachu was quite bloodthirsty early into our travels." Brock admitted. "I think Ash rounded him out."
Ash then was shown speaking to Butterfree, wishing it well, saying it had to go with the pink Butterfree for itself, as the pink Butterfree did the courtship dance for Butterfree. Ash assured Butterfree that he'd tell the other Pokemon that Butterfree had to go on a trip and may return one day, telling Butterfree to go, as he remembered his time with Butterfree, from a Caterpie onwards. Ash was crying as Misty told him that Butterfree was almost out of sight, Ash ran to the cliff edge and yelled after it, wishing Butterfree well, as the camera showed Butterfree was also crying, having to leave Ash.
"At least the two Butterfree got to be happy together." Max smiled sadly.
"Poor Ash though, having to say goodbye to the first Pokemon he caught." May sighed.
"Butterfree needed to have its own happiness as well." Misty said. "It wasn't easy for either of them though."
"Goodbye, Butterfree! I'll always remember you!" Ash vowed. "Thank you for everything! Goodbye Butterfree!"
"Goodbye Butterfree!" Everyone in the room called out, except James, who just glared.
"Be happy old friend." Ash said as Butterfree vanished over the horizon.
"I'm sure he's very happy." Misty smiled at the screen.
"You know Ash, you raised Butterfree to have alot of courage, and I think you just proved you have alot of courage too." Brock smiled at him.
"Ash has nothing if not courage." Clemont agreed.
Ash thanked Brock as Misty and Ash agreed the Butterfree migration looked beautiful, as the last of them disappeared by the sunset, their wings glinting in the last rays of light.
"Aww that's so sweet!" Dawn said.
"Good friendships last forever, even though friends don't always stay together." A narration read out. "Helping Butterfree to grow, Ash may just have learnt to grow a little himself." The screen faded to black as the last Butterfree vanished entirely.
"You know what, I think Ash did learn to grow a little from it all, I think we all did." Brock stated.
"Well what's next?" Bonnie asked before a bright flash overtook the room again, causing them all to shield their eyes. As it faded away, they saw another new arrival had joined them.
"TWERPS?!" Jessie yelled.
So should I post the movies in a separate fic or wait until I reach them in this one?
