Chapter 2: Mishima Style

Izuku covered his eyes from the constant flashes, there were many of them as the bright white light nearly blinded his eyes. He was currently standing next to his father at a press conference as dozens of reporters hounded his father for questions. Today was the day that his father revealed him to the world, the day he became Izuku Mishima.

He tried to ignore their camera flashes as he looked up at his father speaking into the microphone. All the cameras that were recording this event were all on both of them with the Mishima Zaibatsu logo behind.

Izuku turned his head to the side to see Alisa, his new body guard in her new body standing by the wall with a smile on her face. She was standing next to his father's assistant Nina Williams who helped coordinate all of this. Izuku saw Alisa give him a thumbs up to help support him because she knows that he would rather be anywhere than here.

"Today I have a special announcement. I know many are wondering who this young man next to me is and some of you already have speculated on my relation to him. Fear not, I will answer all questions that are pondering your mind. First off, I would like to introduce Izuku Mishima, my son." Izuku saw the reporters become still, the camera flashes stopped for a moment as everyone digested what his father just told them.

It was a moment later when the room erupted with questions about him and his mother. Izuku looked up at his father to see him keeping a cool and stoic expression even with all the noise. Jin just raised hand to quiet the vultures down and quiet down they did.

"Izuku is my only son of one of my former employees, Inko Midoriya. I try to keep fraternization in my company to a minimum, but it seems even I am a victim of it. When she told me of our expectant child I greeted it like how any expectant father would greet the news, with excitement and joy, but moments later did I realize what I was condemning a life that had not even been brought into this world to. So, my love and I hid our child from the world. Inko to Izuku and gave birth to him far away from prying eyes and I kept on going about my days, but not once did I not think about my son." Jin learned how to control and manipulate the media after years of training, not only that Nina created a believable story no one will question.

"Why is he here now?" One reporter asked as he and everyone else turned back to Jin who looked down apologetically. Izuku knew that this was his time to act as well, his role was small, but according to Nina it would be affected.

Izuku leaned closer to his father and put his head into his side to hide his pain. Jin knew that this was the signal and followed up accordingly by grabbing his son's hair and rubbing it affectionately.

"We…We are currently dealing with a loss. My wife and Izuku's mother, Inko, died in a fire. With her dying breath she was able to save our son, but it cost her life. If anything ever happened to her, Inko told Izuku to come find me. Excuse us, but everything has been happening so fast. We haven't even gotten time to mourn." Jin sounded as hurt as he could putting his acting skills to display, to Nina he was a terrible actor, but it seems the idiots that were called reporters were eating it up.

She looked to Alisa to see the android ready to produce tears making the former spy rub her eyes. Somehow those two are able to convince an android of all things. Yet it worked. They were getting sympathetic looks and words of condolences from the media.

"My condolences, but will your son be taking over the company when he gets older." Izuku released his father, his work but he still had to be up here. He hopes that this press conference will end very soon.

"That will be up to him when he reaches that age, for now I want him to have the freedom to choose his own path, whatever that may be. Now I just want to spend time with my son and be a father. Thank you all for your time." Jin ended the press conference there while the media still tried to get out questions, he guided Izuku off of the stage as they were rejoined by Alisa and Nina.

"The press conference worked according to plan." Nina told Jin as she was now looking at her tablet with the Mishima family being a trending topic.

Jin nodded his head as he looked down at his young son, the boy's eyes were focused. He could tell just by looking at him that it was a waste of time and he wanted to focus on training. Jin was about to speak, but whatever he had planned to say came to a stop when he saw a man standing across from his entourage.

"Who is that?" Izuku asked, seeing the silver haired man standing across from them. He looked up at his father to see him narrow his eyes at him.

The man was wearing a white suit, with a purple tie, and a navy blue tailored coat. He was very clean and formal, but there was a clear scowl on his face with a glare that was clearly aimed at his father.

No one answered Izuku as the man walked forward with quickness and the moment he arrived at his father he socked right in the face with a punch. Lucky for Jin the media was still in the press conference room so he wouldn't have to deal with another story. As for everyone else that had wide eyes, Raven and the security team was going to interfere, but Jin put his hand to hold them off.

"You still pack a punch, Lee." Izuku turned his eyes back to the man named Lee, his glare did not leave his face he was ready to punch his father once again, but before he could deliver the blow a hand stopped him.

"Lee, enough." A new figure said, as he placed his arm in front of the silver harried attacker. Izuku saw this figure and saw that he had brown hair, but his outfit was different. He was more heroic. He was wearing some kind of body armor, along with a matching red and black cape segmented into three parts vertically with metallic arm guards and a metal lion chest plate.

"Did you know about this Lars?" Lee turned his eyes to the mysterious brown haired man named Lars who just sighed.

"No, I just found out about this yesterday." Lars spoke honestly as he turned his head to his father, both of the mysterious men giving his father looks of anger and frustration. Still however through all of this Izuku had one question on his mind.

"Who are these guys?" Izuku asked aloud, wanting to get to the mystery of these two individuals who seem to know his father. Jin sighed knowing he had to tell Izuku the truth, he wanted to wait till much later, but the two idiots here decided to rush the process on that part.

"Say hello to your uncle Lars and Lee, Izuku." Izuku looked at the two men when, with shock, his father had brothers.

He has an uncle, two of them at that. The two men looked at the green haired pre-teen with curiosity, it was Lars however that made the first move. He kneeled down to Izuku's height and gave him a warm smile.

"I have uncles." Izuku was still trying to digest that his father has a brother, but it was Lars that told the truth behind Jin, Lee, and himself.

"Well, technically we are your father's uncles. But I think hearing the word grand-uncle will make us feel old, so you can call us uncle as well. Also I'm sorry about this introduction, it is not what I had in mind, but I am glad to meet you for the first time. I knew your mother, she was a wonderful woman. You look like her." Izuku just nodded his head, and when Lars finished it was Lee's turn.

"Yes, and that is a good thing. It's better you have your mother's beautiful looks instead of this buffoon face. Alisa-chan, how is your new body? I hope it's well, I made sure to perfect it to the tiniest detail."

"It feels better than I could have imagined." Lee nodded his head and turned his attention back to Jin.

"You have much to explain." Jin sighed, well better late than never he supposes.

"Fine, meet me in my office in five minutes. Alisa, take Izuku home." Alisa nodded her head and went to her ward, but Izuku did not want to leave yet. His father told he could teach him how to fight and fighting is what he wants to do now.

"When do we start training?" Izuku asked with an impatience that made Lars and Lee look at Jin, they didn't know about the training.

"Soon, after I deal with them. Then we will begin. Be ready." Jin told him.

"I've been ready." Izuku walked away from his father and his uncles with Alisa in tow, they were heading outside where a vehicle will take them to the Mishima mansion. Jin just sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"Chip off the old block, isn't he." Lee commented with a coy smile making Jin glare at him.

"Let's go." Jin told them that Raven, Lars, Lee, and Nina all entered the elevator that would take them to Jin's office. When the doors opened Jin walked into his office and sat down in his office chair with Nina by his side. The rest stood in the office and Lee did not waste time getting right to the point.

"You have a son that you kept secret from the world. The world I understand, but after everything that we have been through, after all the hell we have gone through, I thought family would count for something." Lee spoke with a hurt tone. Yes, Jin and he did not see eye to eye in the beginning, but they had a common enemy. The same could be said for Lars, he thought that he and Jin arrived at the point where secrets would longer exist, he now sees that he was wrong.

"Jin, did you keep it from us because you couldn't trust us or because you were trying to protect them?" Jin looked at Lars, if he had to pick a favorite between the two he would pick Lars. The fool is heroic, too heroic, but is always trying to do the right thing. He kept him on the right path especially during the war. So, Lars deserved to hear the truth from him.

"Both. But either way it failed."

"So, Inko really is dead?" Lee spoke again, saddened to hear the death of a friend and colleague.

"Yes, I found out yesterday when Izuku came here. He saw her die, afterwards I dispatched Lars and a group of Tekken Force members to investigate. He was going to tell me what he found before you came over and punched me in the face."

"Be glad I didn't do more." Lee fired back at Jin making both uncle and nephew glare at each other. It was Nina however that brought everyone back.

"If you boys are done, Lars can tell us what he found." The glare stopped for both knew that the woman was right. With the attention now back on him Lars gave his full report on what he found.

"We found the destroyed house and what remained of Inko's body."

"What was left?" Jin asked, perhaps there was some left for a burial. Lars however shook his head to protect from that information. Jin just nodded his head and allowed Lars to continue.

"As for the creature that Izuku said he saw there was nothing." Jin made a fist, Nina looked at him to make sure that he wouldn't break another desk.

"Nothing?" Nina questioned finding that hard to believe.

"Not exactly nothing, we didn't find a body, but we found a large boot print inhuman in terms of size. So someone was there that night. As to what, we do not know. There was nobody that heard anything and nothing left behind to track, as for the house it was burned to the ground." Jin's eyes glowed a dangerous and familiar color to everyone in the room, they knew that they looked anywhere. The CEO however calmed down and leaned his head back on his chair.

"So all we have to go on is that name." Jin spoke aloud, confusing both of his uncles. Both Lee and Lars looked at each other and turned their heads back to Jin.

"What name? What are you talking about? You know who sent the attacker." Lee asked, it was Raven that spoke next.

"We don't know who sent the creature, but the kid told us that it spoke a name." The two uncles looked at the dark skinned man and saw that whoever name was spoken made him afraid.

"What name was it?" Lars asked as he turned his eyes back to Jin. Jin turned his head to look at a picture that hung on the wall next to him. A large portrait of a gray haired old man with a strong and imposing look on his face.

"Kazuya." Lars and Lee's eyes opened in fear, it was seen on their faces. They have not heard the name of their brother in a very long time.

"But you said you-"

"I know what I said and I know what I did. I recall that day very well." Jin told Lee hotly, he was not happy about this either. He believed that Kazuya was dead because he was the one that dealt the final blow. Killing him and tossing him into a river of molten lava. No man should be able to survive that, but Kazuya is no mere man. He is the devil itself.

A moment of silence was shared by everyone in the room. It was Lars that broke it as he turned his eyes to his father's portrait, but Lars' mind began to go to what his nephew said to his father. They were going to train, his brain began to piece together that Jin was going to train Izuku, but what for and now he has an idea.

"Are you really going to train your son to fight Kazuya of all people?" Lars accused the man and Jin fired an angry glare at his uncle for accusing of that. Lee saw the reaction and wondered the same, the son of Jin suddenly appearing and now wanting to train, that's suspicious.

"Really after what our father did to you. You want to do the same to your own son." Lee fired, making Jin slam a fist onto his desk, making a trickle of red lighting appear on his closed hand, but this time the desk did not break. Nina had made sure to order a much stronger desk than last time.

"Don't you dare accuse me of that and never compare me to him." Jin's brown eyes glowed red, he may be CEO of the Zaibatsu, but that does not mean his skills in fighting had diminished. The devil within him is still very much alive. The two adopted sons of Heihachi understood and realized that they were wrong. They had seen too much death in this war between father and son and with the existence of Izuku they did not want to carry it on.

"Then what is your plan for him?" Lars asked with curiosity and concern. Jin sighed and sat back down in his chair and told his uncles his plan.

"I am going to train him, but not to fight Kazuya. Keeping him close will allow us to monitor his devil gene. As for the training it is for his protection. I gave Izuku conditions, ultimatums that must be kept and be made in order for him to keep his training up. One of these conditions is that he must go to UA."

"You believe that at UA the school can sway his need for vengeance." Jin just looked at Lee, the silver haired man was not wrong at all.

"Not just that, you want him to be more than this company and bring some good to the Mishima name." Jin nodded his head to both of his uncles, they were right. Lee and Lars were 100% right about everything they just said.

"Yes. Now if you have any more questions Nina can get you caught up. I will be going to train my son." Jin shortly left the office and went to the dojo that was a couple floors up. The time to train Izuku has come and he will have to break him in order for him to learn the Mishima style.

Mishima Dojo

"Izuku, are you certain about this? Your mother never wanted you to fight." Izuku tightened the black gloves that were on his hands. Once it was tightened he turned his head to the android to answer her question. A question that he already knew the answer to already.

"Yes, there is no going back."

"But-"

"I know what my mother wanted from me, Alisa." He told her hardly, he did not want to raise his voice at her. Alisa has been the closest ally and friend since the death of his mother, she is currently the only one that he could trust.

"I know she never wanted me to fight, I know she wanted me to control my anger, to better myself and not become a monster. But things have changed, she is dead and whoever sent that monster after us is still out there and I will be damned if I just sit by and do nothing. If getting my body broken leads me to getting stronger than so be it. I will do whatever it takes."

Alisa's eyes held concern within them, she recalls how Jin became what he was and it started with his need for vengeance. Unknown to Izuku, the android eyes scanned him. She was scanning his vitals with her optics. Alisa saw the increased heart rate and blood pressure rise, she was very much concerned because she feared that the trait that Izuku inherited from his father would soon start to show itself.

The doors opened making the teen turn his head to see his father entering the dojo wearing black gi. Jin looked at his son and saw that he was prepared for training, the time to begin was now.

"If this is the path you wish to follow then first you must know about the Mishima Style, a style created by my great-great grandfather Jinpachi Mishima. Mishima Style is a vicious hard hitting style that is determined on power and striking. I will teach you how to strike like nobody else. When I am done with your fist will be able to break boulders with ease." Izuku nodded his head, he didn't care as long as he got stronger, but before they began. He must know something about his father.

"Why did you leave? Why did you leave me and mom?" Jin was caught off guard by the question, for his eyes widened only to narrow very quickly. But he was not going to give Izuku those answers easily. When he wanted information his grandfather made him earn it. Those rules will apply once again and if his son is anything like him he will work harder to get those answers.

"If you want the answers to that question you will need to earn it. From here on out everything that you want to have you will earn. Nothing will be given to you for free." Izuku glared at him, that was not the answer that he was looking for. Jin smirked when he saw his son's scowl, he now sees what he looks like with it on. Not giving him answers will add more fuel to fire and it worked when Izuku got into a stance. He was ready.

"Fine, but know this you will give me what I want to know." Jin smiled, let's see how much his boy can take.

"Strike me." Izuku went forward to attack his father, while Jin stood like an unmovable mountain. Izuku punched him, but Jin felt nothing. It was weak. Perhaps his punches could hurt a child or even a young teen, but to a master of martial arts it was pathetic.

Alisa winced when she saw Izuku get blown back, his body rolling on the tile floor. The young teen grabbed his chest. His chest felt like it just got caved in, Izuku was struggling to breathe. He gasped for air as he forced himself to lean up.

Izuku looked to his father to see his arm extended completely out, a trickle of red electricity was quickly visible before it was gone. Jin's eyes held nothing but coldness. He was not going to show mercy to his son, if he so desperately wanted to walk this path and learn how to fight then he would teach him everything including the lesson in pain.

"Again." Izuku got up on his shaky legs, and once again he went to strike Jin only for him to take out his legs with a sweep and once again striking him this time in the face. Just like before, Izuku was blown backwards, his body rolling on the tile. When he came to a stop Izuku was looking at the ceiling, he tasted copper in his mouth which basically means that he was bleeding on his lip.

Jin looked at his son with a simple and stoic expression while Alisa held concern. "Jin, I think that is-"

"No," Alisa turned her head back to Izuku to see him getting up once again. "I'm not done yet." Izuku told them, but his words were directed to his father. Rising to his feet Izuku wiped the blood from his lips and glared at Jin. Alisa was still concerned and now she got even more concerned when she saw Izuku's eyes.

The boy didn't know it, but Jin and Alisa saw it. They glowed red for a moment, it was only for a second, but they saw it. His Devil Gene, it was starting to awaken. Jin figured with the intense training that he was going to give Izuku that the gene was going to start to awaken and now he has his first sign.

"Then strike me." Jin ordered and Izuku dashed toward, the outcome was the same each and every time that Izuku got up, but what made Jin proud was that his son was getting up. He was not staying down no matter how much he got hit. No matter how hard he got attacked. He got up and rose. He truly was his son, he was a Mishima.

The training continued, only when Jin said enough did it stop, until he uttered that one word the training would go on and on. Often into the night, sometimes into the next day. Izuku's life of hell began, his body was broken in every way imaginable. He was ordered to strike trees with his legs constantly, pound his fist into the large jars of sand without rest, block swinging bags of sand with his fist, and his personal favorite sparing with his father.

Izuku would go to bed sore and wake up the next day in massive amounts of pain, but not once did he complain. He powered on through the pain and continued to focus on his mission, on his training.

When training was not happening Izuku learned more about his father and his company. He learned about his great-grandfather Heihachi MIshima and great-great-grandfather Jinpachi Mishima. Jinpachi created the company and when he died Heihachi took it to whole new levels making a powerful weapons company with a private military known as Tekken.

When he died his father took control and changed it. He turned the weapons company into Japan's largest multinational conglomerate. The Mishima Zaibatsu went from selling weapons to a vast array of products, many of them in the pharmaceutical side. Currently Izuku is doing his homework in his father's office.

"You study quirks?" Izuku asked his father. Yes, he had returned to school and keeping his grades up was an important part of the deal he has with his father.

"I don't, but the company does." Jin answered back as he looked at the papers on his desk, he was going through the work while his son did his homework in his office. Izuku could have left and went to the mansion or the penthouse upstairs, but Jin enjoyed the company of his son. It was times like these that he wonders if he made the right decision in hiding his family.

"What are you studying them for?"

"Well that is a question that has many answers." Jin told him as he looked over stock revenue with the help of Nina of course.

"Is it the type of question that I am going to have to earn the answer to?" Jin smiled, perhaps he could give Izuku a free one.

"Not this time. The Mishima Zaibatsu study quirks, all types. Contrary to popular belief there are those that do not want quirks." Jin told him getting his son's attention, he figured that everyone would want a quirk, it was the talk of the town where he once lived.

"It's true, Izuku, there are those that want quirks to have power, but having a quirk is a double edge sword and we are not talking about weakness. Some people born with quirks that are deemed unstable have their life forever changed." Nina told him making Izuku even more curious, he never heard of quirk that could be deemed unstable.

"What kind of quirk could be that bad?" Jin could have easily told Izuku that their quirk is one of those bad one's, but that conversation was not yet ready to be had.

"Come take a look at this." Izuku went over to his father's desk to see him holding a file of a girl with brown and white hair.

"Who is she?" Izuku simply asked.

"This is Anna Marie, she was born in America, New Orleans to be exact. Our people there found her and brought her situation to us and we have been taking care of her since. She has a quirk that prevents her from touching others, the girl puts her own parents in a coma. When they awoke they wanted nothing to do with her. Since she has been here we have been trying to help her and make her life comfortable. We have been working on designing a powerful inhibitor collar that will shut off her power."

"That's so sad." Jin nodded his head, hearing stories like these is one of the reasons why he was glad he took control. With the company's resources he has been able to help people with his money and power instead of his fist.

"Yes, but we are making progress. She has gotten better from our lessons, but she still has a long road ahead. As for you, you need to get back to your homework." Izuku sucked his teeth in and went back to the couch to continue his work. While walking back he didn't notice his father smiling at him. Jin looked up at Nina and saw her smile making him roll his eyes.

As time went on Izuku got stronger, he got smarter, and made some friends. But at the same time he knew what he was fighting for. He understood why he was putting his body through all of this. He had one mission and that was to get stronger.

He trained everyday, no brakes unless it was for school. It didn't matter if it was his birthday or the anniversary of his mothers' death. He wanted to train. It could be under the blazing hot sun in the summer or the freezing temperatures of the winter, it did not matter for Izuku trained.

Days turned into months and months turned into years. And after three years of intense and brutal training Izuku had reached the level he so desperately wanted to reach.

No longer were his fingers breaking from punching the sand, no longer did his legs hurt when he kicked the trees, no longer did his guard break from the swinging of the sand bags. He had arrived, he had gotten stronger. The proof of that strength was shown in a spar against his father, both Mishima's were battling in a ring.

Present Day

Their audience was Lars, Lee, Alisa, Nina, and Raven. All five of them watched with close eyes as Izuku kept up with Jin. In the past Jin would have wiped the floor of Izuku, but now that teen, no…now a young man that has grown before their very eyes. They watched as Izuku stood with his father in the fight, they could see that Jin was still holding back his true power, but Izuku was pushing him even at this level, a feat that very few can do.

Izuku avoided the punches from his father by moving his head quickly to the side. He followed up with a counter attack by throwing quick and powerful blows to Jin. Jin however saw it and covered up with both his arms.

The attack collided, but his defense held strong and when he saw an opening he thrusted a leg forward sending Izuk backwards with a powerful spartan kick. Izuku's feet slid on the ground, but he did not lose his footing nor the sight of his target.

When he came to a stop Izuku dashed forward with a quick speed that made even Nina blink twice. She lost him for a second, but Jin was able to see him clearly and struck first. His strike landed on its mark hitting Izuku in the face, but to his surprise his son did not budge.

Izuku withstood the punch, his cheek mushed deeply into his face. He glared at his father, his green eyes soon glowed and turned into a dangerous and familiar red color. Jin widened his eyes, this was it.

Izuku powered through the punch catching his father off guard and striking him for the first time in his life. Uppercut from the young man landed on Jin's chin making the CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu eyes widen.

The spectators' eyes were saucers, they could not believe it. Izuku roared as he put everything he had into the punch, the trademark lighting appeared violently, but unlike Jin's red Izuku's was green.

Jin was lifted up off his feet and into the air, he landed on his feet however just as Izuku continued to go on the attack. Jin saw enough and decided that it was time to end this fight. Izuku launched a high kick to his father's face, but Jin blocked it with his neck!

The force of the kick landed right on his side neck and he didn't even budge. Izuku's eyes were saucers, but they grew even larger when he saw tribal markings appear on his father's face. Jin's eyes glowed red and Izuku saw what looked like a third eye open on his forehead.

The didn't even have time to comprehend what he was looking before his father attacked with a thunderous lighting palm strike that held to his gut. The impact of the strike made Izuku's eyes go pure white, for a moment he felt his soul out of his body. He was sent flying out of the ring like a ball shot from cannon and crashed into the far wall, bouncing off it like it was a ball and landing face first on the ground.

Izuku pushed himself up and looked at his father who was standing at the top of the ring, the marking on his face was gone. Dozens of questions were flowing through Izuku's head, but none of them mattered at this moment because he had done it. He had successfully punched his wasn't a whole lot, but he did it.

"I finally got you." The teen commented with a smile that filled him with joy, after so many years of training he finally tagged his father in a fight. The next step now would be even harder, and that was beating him.

Jin rubbed his chin as he walked down from the ring. "Yes, you did." He commented, his chin was sore, but it did not hurt. While Izuku's strike did some damage his son still had a long way to go before he could fully inflict pain onto him.

"Now you owe me answers." Izuku reminded his father as he rose to his feet, he had not forgotten the promise that was made to him all those years ago. If he landed a blow on his father he would tell him why he left him and his mother. If he defeated him in a fight then he would answer all his questions. That second part was going to have to wait a while, but the first challenge has been conquered.

"A deal is a deal and I'm a man of my word. So, ask away."

"Why did you leave?" Izuku asked his first of possibly many questions. Jin sighed and took a seat on the bottom step. He figured that would be Izuku's first question.

"What I said all those years ago in that press conference was not a lie. I tried to protect you and your mother from enemies. Those enemies are rivals to the Mishima Zaibatsu and others are from my past, but the honest truth is I was scared to be a father. I'm scared of me and of you."

"Me?" Izuku responds with confusion, making Jin nod his head.

"You don't know the family history, but let's just say the Mishima bloodline is cursed. Husbands have killed wives, fathers have tried to kill sons, and sons have killed fathers. Your mother was a doctor here, a scientist, one of our best. She led the Quirk Research department, when she proved that she was trust worthy I hand picked for a particular project that I wanted her to work on. That project brought us closer together and that relationship led to your birth."

"What was she working on?" Izuku asked.

"I tasked her with studying a quirk that we both share." Once again Izuku was confused because he was certain that he didn't have a quirk.

"I don't have a quirk. She told me that herself."

"Izuku, you do have a quirk. It's the same as mine. What your mother told you was a lie that we concocted when you got to the age where quirks would first appear."

"What is it called?" Izuku asked.

"It doesn't have a particular name like heat vision or teleportation. However, many including myself have called it the Devil Gene."

"Devil Gene?" Izuku repeated, not like the sound of that one bit.

"Yes, it's a genetic quirk that is only found in the Mishima bloodline. My grandmother had it, then it passed to my father, then to me, and now you." Izuku looked at his hands, all these years he was lied to about his quirk and now it comes out that he actually has one.

"So those markings on your face and that third eye that I saw, that was this Devil Gene?" Jin nodded his head and explained his Devil.

"I wanted to show you a glimpse of it, so you know what you will be dealing with."

"What are its abilities?"

"It varies from person to person, but common ones that we have been able to find are increased strength, durability, healing, speed, and the favorite anger. Tell me, I have noticed strange things during childhood that just didn't make any sense." Izuku thought back to the times when he was a kid. What his father told him started to make sense to him, his strength was always greater than other kids, he was always faster, and the anger. It all made sense now to him.

"Yeah, I do recall some things, but mom always had some excuse for it." Jin nodded his head as he carried on the story of his and Inko's relationship and of the Devil Gene.

"She wanted to protect you, We all did."

"All? I thought no one knew of my birth." Jin glanced over at Nina and Izuku turned his emerald orbs over to the blonde woman.

"Nina was the only one that I trusted, no offense." Jin apologized to Lars and Lee. Lars accepted, but of course Lee had something to say.

"Offense taken." Nina elbowed him in the side.

"Nina prepared everything and when it was done your mother was gone. I had hoped that you would live a normal life, something that no one in this family ever gets, but it was wishful thinking. You are a Mishima at the end of the day." Jin sighed before asking him if he had any more questions.

"Did you love her?" Jin just looked at his son, no glare, no contempt, just a simple and plain look.

"Izuku, I have loved only one woman before your mother and I lost her. This pain that I have been feeling is now doubled and I hope that you never have to experience it." It wasn't a yes and it wasn't no. It was just words from a man who has lost two people that he has cherished.

"What about the Devil Gene, can I expect anything else?" Jin nodded his head and pointed to Izuku's right shoulder where the teen looked and saw a mark. A mark that was not there before and it looked like the same mark that his father had on his left shoulder. Izuku all this time thought that the mark was just a tattoo from when his dad was younger, but he guessed wrong. It was connected to this Devil Gene.

"That mark there proves that the Devil Gene inside you is growing and for what else can you expect I don't honestly don't know. You're going to get stronger, I know that, but I don't know if you are going to get a third eye and transform."

"T-Transform? Like turning into something?" Izuku didn't believe that, but the words from his father shot down all of his doubts.

"Yes, you can transform. Into what I don't know."

"I have so many questions about this. Could others transform? What about Kazuya? You still never told me who he is." That is where the discussion ended. Izuku could ask about his mother all he wanted, but once he got into the family business it would end. He has to earn those questions by beating him, a feat that is not easy. Besides, Jin doesn't think he is ready to have that conversation with his son.

"If you want to know those answers then you will have to beat me in a fight and next time I will not be going easy on you."

"Fine, we can start right now." Izuku tightened his hands, it seemed that he was going to reach that second challenge if you wanted to know more about his quirk. Unfortunately for him his father had other plans.

"No. That is enough training for today. We will have time for that tomorrow."

"But-"

"But nothing. The UA exams are more than just the physical attributes of a hero, it's also about the mind. Go study, you can even invite Momo to help you if you want." Jin smiled seeing his only son blush when he mentioned the girl's name.

"Fine, but tomorrow for certain. I want to know how to do that palm strike that sent me out the ring." Jin nodded his head as Izuku walked off to the elevator with Alisa in tow. Leaving the four adults in the room. Raven and the others went over to join the father who was still seated on the step.

"Was it wise not to tell him the truth about the Devil Gene?" Lars asked, he knew the family history better than anyone for he had lived and survived it.

"Yeah, he's not ready to know about the blood shed that was spilled thanks to his DNA." Jin answered as he stood up from the step.

"When are you going to tell him?" Lee asked him with his arms crossed, though he did not approve of Jin's methods he does agree with not telling his son the full truth. The question is for how long can Jin keep this secret a secret.

"Until he proves to me that he can survive on his own." Jin told him hardly. Izuku was good, but he was not yet strong enough. Yes he did get a clean hit on him, but that didn't mean that he could beat him in a fight.

"So, what's next for him? Will we still continue to monitor him?" Raven asked and Jin nodded his head.

"We already contacted Nezu at UA, he knows that Izuku is coming and knows what to look for if his powers start to awaken. From what I saw it won't be long now."

"Nina, is right. His awakening is drawing near. All we can do…all I can do is prepare him for when that time arrives, but the toughest battles have yet come."

"What do you mean?" Lee asked Jin, making him turn his eyes to all four of them.

"Since making Izuku known to the world Nina has come to me with an interesting report."

"What kind of report?" Lars asked this time as all eyes fell on the blonde woman.

"In three years since making Izuku public to the world, our spies around the globe have reported major activity in the underground and the professional fighting level. Fighters are training, some of them are familiar names and have become teaching students."

"They're coming for the throne." Lars put together as did the rest, Izuku has a target on his back and everyone is gunning for it.

"Who are some of the familiar names?" Lee asked the secretary/assassin/spy.

"King has an apprentice that has been headlines in the wrestling world, I'm sure some of you have seen his matches. He has already achieved six five star matches, the youngest to achieve that stat. Then there's Leroy Smith in America and his new student they're calling a prodigy."

"Does Leroy still hate me?" Jin asked out of blue.

"Yup." Jin sighed as Nina continued.

"Marshall Law's youngest student is another one that is making waves. I'm sure Lee can tell you more."

"I see him fight, he is quite skilled. Law believes that he will surpass him and son one day." Jin didn't show any reaction towards that, but he has something on his mind since hearing this report.

"So what do we do, it's only a matter of time before old allies send their students to fight Izuku and that's not including the new fighters that have been making waves?" Raven asked and now all eyes turned to Jin.

"I think the time for the tournament is drawing near." Eyes widened when they heard that suggestion, it's been a long time since a true King of Iron Fist tournament has taken place, but as a new generation rises the time for a new king may have come.

Elsewhere Many Years Ago

"That will be up to him when he reaches that age. I want him to have the freedom to choose his own path, whatever that may be. But for right now I want to spend time with my son and be a father. Thank you all for your time." A man smiled as he watched the footage of the press conference that Jin did. The heir to the Mishima Zaibatsu has been revealed. This was to be expected, after time and searching it took to find Jin's woman this the outcome that he wanted.

Izuku is now with his father, it now forces Jin to be defensive to protect his son and his carelessness will be his downfall. The boy is now the prime target, but he wonders what he thinks of this whole situation.

The mysterious man turned from the screen and now faced a large cylinder tube that contained green liquid. Inside that tube was a man with black hair, his body was hooked up to all sorts of machines as a constant beep was heard throughout the room.

"What will you do I wonder? What will you do when you face your grandchild, Kazuya?" The man smiled as he looked at the healing Mishima. He was certain that Kazuya could not hear him, but perhaps he was wrong. They say those in coma could hear when others are speaking to and it seems that there was reaction from the devil. Kazuya's hand twitched almost like it was making a fist. Kazuya lived and he was healing, the return of the devil draws near with each passing day.
