The Princess & the Prom: A parody of The Chaperone from SpongeBob SquarePants with Total Drama characters.

Ella was in the kitchen of Smoothie Clean, giggling happily to herself. As per usual, she was singing plenty of songs, but her happiness was turned up to eleven at this rate. She danced as she moved, and her giggling was more in a giddy way than as if she heard a funny joke. Her co-worker took notice of this and looked through the window as he finished taking an order.

"What's got you so happy, miss giggles?" Noah deadpanned before stating the order.

"Well, tonight, I'm going to be dancing with my girlfriend!" As Ella got to work putting the muffin and milkshake order together, she happily twirled to gather the ingredients, looking rather efficient as she did. "Tonight's a wonderful night to dance and date! Oh, I just can't wait!"

"Even today, she makes my heart beat! My life feels complete!" At this point, Noah stopped listening completely, though the princess couldn't stop singing. "Our love will never end, and I couldn't be more glad that she's my girlfriend!"

Soon after the singer put the pastry in a bag and handed it and the shake to the bookworm, the clock ticked over another minute and started beeping. "My, the end of work already? Time certainly flies when you're having fun!" As she exited the door, she called out to the other workers. "Have a good evening, friends!"

The princess was then seen at home in her bedroom. She was sitting on her bed with a beautiful, strapless pink dress on her body instead of her traditional skirt and blouse, she had let her hair down, so her headband wasn't on, and she still had her everyday loafers on, though her hands went ungloved. As she patiently waited for her lover's arrival, she petted her beloved Mittens, her endless optimism even sneaking onto her pet's face.

"Goodness, it's almost like high school!" Ella gushed, putting her hands up to her face.

"Meow?" Mittens questioned, which the singer somehow seemed to understand.

"Oh, no, that was junior year that I took my mother with me!" She shook her head as she corrected the cat. "The next year, Sammy and I went together!"

Just like that, the girl of the hour knocked on Ella's door. She happily gasped and skipped over to answer it.

Like Ella, Sammy was wearing something much more formal and, in the princess's eyes, absolutely breathtaking. She sported a white dress and had a white daisy with yellow petals in her blonde hair, still styled the way it usually was. While she still had a pair of white heels on her feet, these were a bit different, but still allowed her to meet Ella's height.

The singer merely giggled as their faces turned red as they examined each other. She then did a cute little spin for the twin to observe.

"W-wow, you look so pretty…" Sammy eventually said, before her lover took her hand in her own.

"As do you, Sammy!" She smiled radiantly as she kissed the cheerleader on the cheek, which she giggled at. She cocked her head towards the door. "Shall we?"

"S-sure, let's go." Sammy answered through a giggle.

The scene then cut to the girls at the dance, among a crowd of people. Although they didn't recognize the others, all that mattered was spending time with each other. Ella gasped in delight as a song perfect for dancing came on, making her ask the exact thing that she asked Sammy so long ago.

"Would you like to make this dreadful night turn into something beautiful?" She outstretched her hand for Sammy to grab, who quickly did.

"You're just turning this into our senior year all over again." Sammy chastised with a chuckle.

As per usual, Ella took the lead as they danced. "Well, things are certainly going much better now than they did back then!"

Both girls reminisced about their high school dance as the screen rippled to show a flashback.

In the past, Ella had a similar appearance. She had the same ebony hair, just with a dress that was white as snow. Sammy though, seemed a lot more different, her hair wasn't tied back up and she was in a scarlet red dress.

"Here we are then!" The princess declared as the cheerleader shyly stepped behind her. "There's certainly a fun night ahead of us! What shall we do first?"

Before Sammy could speak, a man with a camera took a picture as they stepped into the building, stunning them for a moment. "Our first prom photo!" Ella happily declared.

"Um, can we… get that retaken or..? Because I-I wasn't… really ready-" As the twin stammered, the cameraman walked away. "Oh…"

"Would you like me to get you some punch to cheer you up?" Ella sweetly offered.

"Yeah, I guess that would help…"

"Okay!" The singer got up to grab some, but unfortunately, she stumbled over her prom date's legs, making her fall down as well. All this led to Sammy's lips connecting right with Ella's. "Oh, g-goodness, Samanatha, h-how forward!" Ella joked with blushing cheeks.

"Aah! Uh, I'm- I'm so sorry, Ella! I-I didn't mean to- It was just- I tripped and it just- it just kinda happened!" The stuttering blonde apologized, with a face just as red as the songbird's.

"Oh, goodness, no! Don't, ah, don't worry about it! I-it may not have been on purpose, but it was still very enjoyable!"

Sammy simply squeaked, too embarrassed to reply properly. She quickly scrambled up to her feet and helped Ella do the same.

"How about we simply try to do the dance the others are doing at the moment? I believe they call it 'the whack!'"

The camera panned over to some pairs of other people whacking their chests against each other, grunting, and doing it again.

"That… doesn't look like much of a dance move…" The twin commented.

"Why don't we try it out, at least? It looks quite fun!"

"Uh, okay, I guess!"

As Sammy and Ella bumped their chests against each other, a couple walked in the middle of them and fell backwards into another person. That person fell into the punch bowl, which knocked over the table. It all led to a series of chaos - that table knocked over another one, which spilled the food all over the place, and the food made more people slip.

"Oh, goodness! My- my apologies, everyone!" Ella stammered as she backed away. She then tried to do everything at once - she tried to help people up with one hand, pick some trash up with the other, and use her leg to push something out of the way of somebody else. In the midst of the havoc, somebody jumped into a trash can, which got knocked over.

It was all going wrong! "Ah, sorry! I'm sorry! It's just- no, don't cry!" It seemed like Ella was talking to herself more than anybody else. Everything she wanted to do - have fun conversations, dance, and get their picture taken… it all went wrong in one way or another! Sure, the kiss was nice, but was Sammy even okay with that? "We can still… save the night! There's still - no, that's broken, but there's- goodness, no, don't cry!" Her eyes welled up with tears slowly as her voice squeaked. "D-don't… d-d-don't cry!"

She then started full-on crying and ran straight for the bathroom, dodging the fallen prom attendees, broken glass, and wasted food. More specifically, the men's bathroom.

"HEY!" Some of the men yelled out.

"That poor girl… What did her date do to her?" A tall man commented.

Even though it wasn't her fault, Sammy felt guilt among all her features. She carefully stepped over all the debris and fallen people to talk to her date through the door. "Ella? Are… a-are you okay?"

For the most part, the princess could just be heard sobbing, but a few words were audible throughout all of it. "Just… hurt people!" More muttering. "Messed everything up!"

"Hey, it… it wasn't your fault, okay? People just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and… well, I guess it led to this." The twin sighed quietly, too low for Ella to hear.

"But… ruined dress! With the punch and…" Only more incoherent words.

"My dress is red anyways, Ella! It didn't ruin anything. It'll just come out in the wash, okay?"

The singer was actually able to get a full sentence out after a little bit of sniffling this time. "But I wanted to let you have a good time!"

"It's not too late for that! There's still an hour left for the dance, you know!"

With some renewed confidence in her from the least confident girl she knew, Ella emerged from the restroom and hugged her prom date, prompting some blushes and giggles from both of them.

Just like in the present day, Ella backed away from the cheerleader and outstretched her hand. "Would you like to turn this dreadful night into something beautiful?"

Sammy gasped in delight and grasped not just one, but both of the songbird's hands as they began to dance the tango, with Ella taking the lead.

The song was not fitting at all for dancing, so Ella decided to fill that gap in herself.

"I took a lovely girl out to the prom! And even though everything went wrong…"

Ella stepped forward with Sammy's hands in her own, and, despite some stumbling from the blonde, they were able to succeed with the step.

"We were still able to have fun with a song! And now I know that the fact I get butterflies… and that I fantasize…"

The singer pulled back, grasping the twin's hand, and twirled her.

"Is not only a thing that I do!"

She then caught the blonde and dipped her in her arms.

"So to you, Sammy, I'd like to confess and express…"

The princess paused for a moment to symbolize a pause in the beat.

"My feelings for you!"

She finished, going in to kiss Sammy on purpose this time. Sammy simply let it happen after being a giggling mess for one second, being shut up by the kiss.

As best as she could, the cheerleader leaned into the kiss while still in the singer's arms. There was only one word that could be used for how these girls felt at that moment: euphoric. They let the moment lead them wherever it decided to take them as their eyes stayed glued shut.

The one thought on both of their minds was just how… perfect the other girl was. Nothing could ever top this moment.

Due to a lack of breath, Ella eventually pulled away as their eyes popped open, neither of them wanting to end the kiss just yet. They also couldn't say a word to each other, merely giggling like fools as they looked into each other's eyes. Their stained dresses really didn't mean a thing to them at the moment.

"I… wow, Ella, I…" Sammy just laughed some more, their faces just as red as her dress.

"Hey, there they are! The ones who ruined the prom!" A security guard from nearby called out, but the newfound couple didn't seem to care one bit.

"Are you, ah, ready to go home, swee- Sammy? I-I mean Sammy!" Ella's silly giggles continued as she wrapped her arm around the blonde's.

"S-sure, let's go, Ellie- um, Ella."

"Aww! That's cute. You should call me that more often."

"I'll, um, I'll… I'll think about it!" Sammy's cheeks grew even redder, which she doubted was even possible.

Ella and Sammy went into the hallway, getting ready to leave.

"Well this wasn't exactly my plan for senior prom." Sammy began. "But… I think it turned out really well."

The songbird let off one final giggle and hugged the twin's hand. "Well, I believe it was a very fun night."

Back to the present, the girls were swooning over the memory and weren't sure how long they'd been dancing for.

"Yeah, that was… a really fun day." She sighed contently. "Gosh, I love you, Ella."

"I love you too!" Ella smiled as they left the current day building as well.

A/N: After some research, we learned that most colleges don't have proms, so we decided to do a backstory in a similar style to a Simpsons flashback episode. I had a lot of fun writing that song and how the girls got together in the first place, so I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter. Hopefully, we'll see you next time!
