sorry for the long ass wait! We're about half way through the story now and the worst is still coming but it'll be ok!

Enjoy!

Izuku didn't get to know where his mother would be. It hurt him a lot but he understood. She was allowed to call and text him but that was about it. He had some idea that perhaps All for One was trying to separate the two of them. Maybe he wanted Izuku to hate the other teen but it wouldn't be enough even though it should be. After what that creepy guy did, it caused Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki a lot of problems.

Tomura had already been used to people not liking him and avoiding him like the black plague but now other students were shying away from Izuku. The news of what happened spread like wildfire and it wasn't good. The most ridiculous one was Tomura was cursed and cursed his new friend in the process. High school rumors were stupid.

It would have been fine but now Izuku was refusing Tomura's messages and calls then hiding in his dorm room. He was scared. He never thought All for One would be creepy enough to follow him home. The news was he started the fire on the bottom floor since he didn't know which one was Izuku's apartment.

All those people were killed because of him.

It made him sick to his stomach. His mother had been in danger. He could count his lucky stars she was still around but he felt like a murderer.

All Might did his best to cheer the poor distraught teen up but it didn't work and even his friends did their best….

Izuku was inconsolable for the most part.

He wasn't sure how in the world he never thought about being a hero and how it would affect his loved ones. He placed his mother in danger. He hurt her in ways he never imagined and he felt even more sick. He texted her but he wouldn't call her despite the amount of times she said for him to call her back. He loved his mother but the more distance the better.

He couldn't hurt her that way.

If they talked again, it would be for the better.

The few times he made it to class, he heard the whispers through the halls. The way they talked about Tomura like he was evil in some way. Some thought he had a ghost or evil spirit following him and now Izuku was being haunted. Izuku would've laughed but it was almost true. That creepy ass guy was so old he should've been a ghost already.

He hoped he could tell Tomura sorry and that it wasn't his fault but he just didn't have it in him either. Tomura was hurting already and Izuku was already making it worse but he was hurt too. He was a terrible fucking friend because he was wallowing in self pity and it wasn't the best move.

But how should he react now?

Izuku had planned to face everything head on, ignoring the pain he would be in but he didn't place his mother in the equation. All those broken bones were nothing compared to the thought of his other almost dying.

He didn't have to think too long because the door rattled and slammed open despite the fact he had locked it. Bakugou stood on the other side, hands popping and crackling menacingly. It wasn't a new sight either- Izuku almost sighed but thought better.

"Are you fucking dense?!"
He heard someone sigh heavily on the side.

"W-what?"

"Auntie Inko has been worried and I told her you were acting like a mopey shit head. She's upset because her only child won't call her when she almost died!"

Aizawa popped his head in to look at Izuku.

"The angry child has a point. He'll be paying for the door if it's broken-

"Send me the damn bill then!"

"Language."

"When are you gonna call your mom before she actually dies of worry huh?!" the blonde snapped walking into his room.

His red eyes were blazing with fury and Izuku had to look away.

"You don't get it-

"Damn right I don't!"

"Lang-

"This isn't the time to cry about shit! This is the time to get fucking stronger isn't it? To beat that creepy motherfucker into the ground! How else is your weirdo of a friend going to make it out alive?! I know he can't do shit without you and he needs to work out more!"

"Well-

"This isn't his fault!" Bakugou snapped, "It sure as hell wasn't your fault either! When he comes around, we'll be prepared so get off your ass and apologize to Shigaraki before things get worse!"

"I-

"NOW!"

Izuku scrambled out of his bed and grabbed his shoes. He bolted between his homeroom teacher and childhood best friend.

Aizawa sighed and crossed his arms with an arched eyebrow.

"He wasn't bawling so he doesn't need to be coddled ok?! He needs to be told the truth and it's the only way he'll get his sh- stuff done!"

Izuku went to the cafeteria and looked around. The place was pretty much empty and there was the faint smell of coffee in the air. He went to the vending machines and started buying things he knew Tomura liked. They had spent so much time together so he knew what he ate. He held everything in his arms and headed for Tomura's locker.

The second year hallway was empty and he got to work picking Tomura's lock. He placed everything and left a note on top before he left for the gym.

Kacchan is right. I can't lay around and pretend doing nothing will make things better. I have to do this for Mom. For Tomura. For everyone else. That's why All Might entrusted this to me. The power of One for All.

When the freckled teen reached the gym, he saw someone sitting on the benches but he knew that blonde hair from anywhere. All Might looked up with his face slim and gaunt but a smile plastered to his face.

"Welcome back young Midoriya. Let's get started."

"You look good with long hair," Mei said with a grin.

Tomura had his arms crossed, scowling at his lap.

"Fuck off Mei."

She giggled as she flipped the page on the gun magazine she was reading. Most of this hair growing appointment had been quiet and he had been there six times already. It had been almost two weeks since he talked to Izuku and almost had his whole entire life ruined. He couldn't blame him for not wanting shit to do with him.

But it left a gaping hole in his soul. It hurt that bad because he didn't know what he could do to fix it. He didn't want to give up on Izuku at all and every time he was in Enigma, his heart hurt. He had been doing a lot of online school work but Nezu was still forcing him to go in once a week until he felt better. Apparently isolating wasn't a wise choice according to Rat Dad so he didn't argue.

He was thankful Mei was still talking to him and completely unafraid of the bad luck that had destroying his life lately. When he asked her hy in the hell she wanted to hang out with him she just shrugged and said "We all die sometime. No point in being afraid of something that will come regardless."

It was nice and a little morbid when she put it that way. She was right of course but it really did feel like his life was decaying away little by little. Nezu tried to spin this into a training marathon but it seemed his quirk wouldn't cooperate without Izuku nearby. He felt stupid trying to stop the decay on sticks but it seemed it wouldn't listen to him. The decay didn't want to listen to him over the screaming fear inside him. He had wondered more than once had his emotions ruled his quirk but that seemed stupid.

What the fuck would he know anyways?

"Hey!"

Mei snapped her fingers in front of Tomura's face. He glared at her.

"What?"

"What are you going to do after this?"

"I have to go back and learn from Midnight. Why are you skipping class anyway?"

She shrugged, "I was worried about you."

He scowled.

"You keep making faces like that and it'll stay that way. You'll never get a boyfriend like that!" she teased with a loud cackle.

Tomura would've sunk down in his seat in embarrassment if he didn't have the lady cutting his ten feet of hair off for his costume.

"With everything that happened, why don't you ask him out?" Mei asked with a smile, "You're young- might as well be reckless once in a while."

"Yea and give the Hero Commission a reason to take my quirk permanently. Great advice you ass."
"I mean in your personal life. If your stalker comes back again and kills you, at least you were happy just a little bit! At least you won't haunt the halls of the school!"

"I really hate you-

"Naw, you don't. After this, wanna get some food? I'll buy it!"

"Fi-fine."

They headed back to the school with soda in hand and walked through the front gates. Tomura always expected them to slam shut on his face one day and honestly, it wouldn't shock him one bit. One day, they would. All this progress and hard work all for nothing and he would have wasted Mei and Izuku's time. It would all come to an end soon.

Apparently the pink haired teen could feel her friend spiraling and bumped into him on purpose and gave him a grin. He tried to grin but it came out as a grimace making her cackle loudly when they walked through the glass doors. The school was pretty quiet but everyone had to be in class. The two of them parted ways and Tomura went to Midnight's empty class.

He shrugged and went to his locker. It popped open and he pulled it open to reveal a pile of snacks with a note on top. He knew that handwriting anywhere. With a shaking hand, he took the note off the snacks and unfolded it. His breath caught in his throat and his eyes watered up.

Tomura,

I'm sorry. I've been a shitty friend. I know you are hurting because I am too. I was scared. I knew that if I failed in some way, Mom would be gone. I was too afraid to call or even text her. I know All for One will come after us. I know we will defeat him even with our last, dying breath but I want to tell you that I haven't given up.

We both come too far to give it all up now.

Giving up won't protect the people we love.

So, tomorrow evening, let's meet in Enigma after dinner, maybe six thirty? If you can't make it or maybe you can't forgive which I understand both anyways…. It would be ok. I abandoned you when you needed me the most and that's not ok.

I truly am sorry and I hope you can forgive me. I want things to be different if you still want to be my friend.

I haven't given up on you either.

-Izuku

Tomura almost couldn't read the last few sentences. Tears blurred his vision and were running down his face. He didn't really notice Midnight had come up behind him. She placed a hand on his shoulder, giving him a gentle squeeze.

It didn't help stop the crying. He turned to look at her and she beamed at him. He knew he should've been ashamed of sobbing on her but he couldn't give a damn. He hugged her tightly with gloved hands and she held him while he had his moment.

He felt so relieved for once in his life and he couldn't wait until tomorrow evening to see the green hair and eyes he had ever seen on a person. He couldn't wait to see Izuku's smile and he knew everything would be ok.

It's going to be ok….
