Lynn pov
Lynn Nether imagined sharing a dorm with any of his siblings, especially Luan. When she first found out that she was sharing a dorm with Luan she was worried about the stuff she was going to pull. Luan being the prankster and comedian of the family usually made jokes that made all of the family groan in annoyance. She also did pranks that most of the time were tame but sometimes her pranks became dangerous. Especially One of Luans pranks sent Lincoln to the hospital because she put some gel on the top of the stairs causing Lincoln to fall down the stairs and causing him to break his leg in the process.
Lynn cringes at the thought and remembers how after that certain prank she nether tried anything dangerous like that ever again. Ever since that incident, her pranks have become much tamer and more enjoyable to the people who are getting pranked.
Lynn smiles releasing that Luan has changed for the better. To Lynn's surprise, Luan was quiet and caring. "I guess when she got older, she stopped being as annoying as she used to be." She thinks to herself. She used to share her room with Lucy, but they didn't connect that well. They both had completely different interests, so they merely existed around each other. They had their moments for sure. Lynn remembers one of her favourite moments with Lucy where she swears to protect her from ghosts. She smiles remembering how life was much simpler when she was younger compared to being an adult.
Lynn not having much to do lies down on her sofa and grabs the remote on the sofa and presses it causing the tv to come on. Lynn not having anything in mind to watch just puts on the news as a sort of background noise while she lies there peacefully.
"Breaking news since yesterday it's been revealed that 5% of people who live in Great Lakes went missing yesterday" "the news reporter says" Is this some conspiracy or does this relate to the dark figure sisters from a couple of days ago? Stay tuned and you will find out.
Lynn turns off the tv and looks at Luan" I cannot believe it. I know that 5% of people going missing might sound small but Great Lakes is a massive city. How can that many people disappear in one day?
"I'm not sure Lynn it seems like something strange is going on. disappearances and dark shadowy figures do sound familiar to me for some reason, but I can't put my figure on it, "
Lynn listening to her say that realizes that what she just said does sound familiar as well to her.
She gets interrupted in her thoughts by Luan putting her arm on her shoulder.
"Should we tell our other family members about this? We could be in danger you know."
"I'm not sure that we're in danger we don't live in Great Lakes. However, if you want to tell them then I wouldn't really care to be honest."
"All right I will give them a call" she says then leaves the room leaving Lynn on her own.
Lynn lies backward on her sofa and thinks about what the news reporter said. Disappearances and dark figures do not sound right at all. she thinks for a moment trying to conclude why this could be happening. She suddenly remembers her adventure to the haunted house when she was younger and how she was trapped in the mirror dimension by a dark entity" Could this be the dark entity's fault" she thinks to herself.
Lynn begins to feel a sense of unease as she considers the possibility of the dark entity, she encountered in the past might be responsible for disappearances in Great Lakes. She remembers the past when the dark entity trapped her and Lucy in the mirror dimension. She shudders remembering the reason why they got saved is because of pure chance. She begins to think about if the people in royal lakes who have disappeared have been sent to the mirror dimension as well.
Now getting curious about what's going on she sits up and walks to the other side of the room and picks up the laptop she usually uses for studying. She turns it on and begins to search up about the recent disappearances in great lakes. While searching she finds a couple of articles about missing people, shadowy figures, and unusual sounds. Some people in the article even claim they have seen the dark figures looming around night-time.
Lynn feels more convinced that something going on in the Great Lakes. wonders if she can do anything to help. She knows that she can't do it on her own and needs to make a plan with her sisters.
Just then Luan walks into the room with a worried expression" Lynn I just got off the phone with Lisa. She asked if we have had any strange occurrences around here.
Lynn nods" There have been some strange occurrences has happened around her but that's more about power shortages and a low supply of food.
Lynn sits up" However I have done some research on my laptop about found some articles about the disappearances in Great Lakes.
She grabs her laptop and shows Luan the articles.
Luan looks at the contents on the screen and becomes more worried "We need to do something Lynn, we can't just sit here and watch everyone disappears into the void."
"Well, what can we do really? We don't have any supper powers to combat the threat."
"I think the best plan is to go back to the royal woods and meet up with everyone else."
"Yeah, I guess that's the best idea. The person I would want to be during a time like this is Lisa because she would probably find a way to take down the threat with her intelligence."
Luan nods and feels a sudden sense of dread" What about Lori? She is in Great Lakes she is in grave danger.
Lynn sighs" I'm not sure about Lori, Luan. However, I know that Lori is smart enough to drive back to the royal woods to meet back with the family.
"Yeah of course she would. She's always liked being the leader of the siblings she would great keeping our morale high when we need It the most."
Yeah, she would. "She says" So are ready to drive back to royal woods.
Luan nods. They begin to put their most valuable belongings into their backpacks. As they do they begin to think of the future. Lynn and Luan couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty as they packed their bags. They knew that what was happening in Great Lakes is a serious threat and they can't do anything about it in the meantime.
Lynn breaking the silence says" Man I hope we will be able to make it home to royal woods in time.
Luan looks at her confused" What do you mean making it to Royal Woods in time?"
Lynn looks at her" What I'm saying is that the threat is only attacking great lakes for some weird reason. Don't you think they will attack Royal Woods next?
Listening to what Lynn has just said Luan takes it into thought" I'm not sure Lynn but we got to stay positive. If we make it to Royal Woods and everyone is safe, then we can stop the threat together as a family.
Lynn smiles" Thanks Luan for your positivity you have put me in a better mood already".
They get back to packing their valuable items into their bags. After a while, they fit everything, and they can head dorm and make their way to Luans car. They open the car boot and chuck their backpacks onto the smooth fabric and close the boot door. They make their way to the front of the car and open the front doors. They enter and put their seat belts on. Luan the driver starts the brakes and begins to drive through the daylight.
Lori pov
Lori couldn't believe what was happening. first heard about the shadowy figures and now people are disappearing. It's like a fever dream she says to herself. She thought that she was safe in her own house, but the fear was growing. She always looked over her shoulder to see if anyway was looking at her spying on her.
She tried many times to contact her family, but she failed. She tries again one final time to see if works. At first, she thought that she connected with someone but then appears with no signal. "Goddammit, now I'm trapped on my own in this mess." She signs remembering the events that happened last week. The week before the disappearances began happening her boyfriend Bobby went on a business trip with his co-workers. Ever since then, Lori has felt a bit down. She misses the love of her life so much that it literally eats her up. she sighs wishing he was there to protect her in a time like this.
Lori wanting to be kept up to date about what's happening turns on the tv to watch the news. To her surprise, the number of disappearances has gone up to 10%. She feels a sudden sense of dread knowing that she could be one of the next people to disappear. She gets up from the sofa and starts packing her belongings. In her mind she knew the best way to save herself is to drive back to royal woods to reunite with her family. She grabs her belongings and exits the house and makes her way to the car. She enters the car and puts her seat belt on and tries to rev up the engine. To her surprise tho it seems that the car has run out of gas." Of all times to run times why now" she says" What am I going to do"
she sits there for the next couple of minutes thinking of a plan to protect herself. Over time she realizes that the best way to save herself is to join up with other people. That way they will have each other's backs. She gets out of her car with her belongings in hand and begins to walk through the empty streets looking for allies.
Lincolns pov
Lincoln slowly opens his eyes to see where he is at. He tries to sit up but the throbbing pain coming from his head forces him to stay down. He looks up to see his sisters looming above him looking at him concerned expression.
Lucy the first one to speak up says" Hey Lincoln how do you feel?"
"To be honest Lucy I feel like crap" he says "I'm feeling nonstop pain in my body. I feel like I can't move without feeling pain.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Lincoln. but Leni decided to make you some cookies to make you feel better".
With Lucy saying that Leni suddenly appears with a tray of cookies on one hand and a glass of water on the other hand. She walks into the room and places the glass of water at the entrance of the room and walks over to Lincoln giving him a cookie. Lincoln grabs it with his fingers and feels the warmth of the cookie. at first the cookie feels fine in his fingers however the cookie gets increasingly warmer causing him to drop it and cringe in pain. Lincoln looks at his hand and notices that his wearing a cast around his fingers explaining to him why he didn't feel the true heat of the cookie instantly.
Leni picks up the cookie and says" Omg I'm sorry lincy I forgot to check the temperature of the cookie because I was so worried about you.
Lincoln smiles" Don't worry about it Leni it was an accident. Accidents happen, Leni, no harm no foul.
Leni smiles and then put the tray containing the cookies on the side.
"Well, I'm going to go downstairs and play video games with the twins so you guys later." She waves leaving Lisa Lincoln and Lucy to do their thing.
With Leni closing the door on her way-out Lucy grabs the glass of water at the entrance of the room and then proceeds to drop a tablet in it.
She walks over to Lincoln and offers him the drink" Lincoln inside this drink is a tablet that will mitigate the amount of pain you are suffering" She says" So are you going to suffer through the pain or are you going to take the tablet?"
Lincoln looks at her confused" It sounds like you are offering me a challenge on how you have just said that.
Lucy chuckles lightly" No Lincoln. I'm not making a challenge out of this. I just want you to take the tablet" She says" You don't have to suffer needlessly.
Lincoln nods and takes the drink from Lucy's hand and downs it.
Done drinking he passes it back to Lucy" Thanks Lucy you are a great little sister".
Lucy smiles" Thank you Lincoln. You will always be a great older brother" she says" Don't let the darkness consume you, ok?"
"Don't worry Lucy. The darkness isn't going to consume me".
Lucy takes the glass cup and places it on the window. She pops her head outside and stares and begins to wonder about her safety in the future.
Lincoln watches her completely confused but before he could ask her what's she doing Lisa approaches him.
"While you were unconscious, I decided to grab the sword you use and put it into my machine to see what it's made from"."
Lincoln looks t her puzzled "Wait a minute didn't you do that a couple of days ago?"
"Well yeah, I did. however, I took a sample of your sword to see what it's made from and decided to make my own weapon with it."
"Why would you do that?"
"Lincoln, it seems like the energy the sword possesses is the key to eliminating the threat or fending it off." she says" If I can find out what it is made from then I can mass produce a lot of weapons to give to the public so they can defend themselves."
Lincoln nods "That does sound like a good idea. But would my sword run out of energy if you take all the energy away from it?
Lisa nods "That's a valid concern Lincoln" Lisa replies" But I can only assure you that I only took a small amount of energy. It should not affect the output or the durability of the sword. Plus, I'm planning of conducting further experiments to understand the sword and the energy source and how to replicate it without draining the sword's energy.
Lincoln nods" That's a relief, Lisa. but what about the weapons you are making? How are planning on distributing the weapons to the public?
Lisa takes a moment to think before responding. I'm planning on having an announcement in public tomorrow. it would be a good way to gather many civilians together so I can distribute the weapons.
Lincoln nods" What about the people who don't have access to your tools? What about the people in royal great lakes? Will they be able to get access to the weapons?
Lisa signs" It's going to take a while to be able to distribute them to different places. Lincoln" she says" However the people in royal woods will be safe for now."
Lincoln smiles" Thanks, Lisa. I can always count on you when times get tough".
"You sure can Lincoln."
Lucy done with her thoughts turns around and says, "Lincoln and Lisa I've got to go now I'm going to write a couple of poems in my room, so goodbye you two."
She walks out of her room waving on her way out she opens and closes the door on her way out.
Lincoln watching Lucy leave says" I guess I take it as a note to leave then".
Lincoln stands ups and already notices that the pain he has been suffering from has been reduced dramatically by the tablet Lucy gave him. He turns around and begins to head out of Lisa's room until Lisa calls his name.
"Lincoln, I want to tell you a confidential secret".
Lincoln turns around and gives her a look of intrigue" A secret? Sure, why not who doesn't love a good old secret".
Lisa takes a deep breath before continuing". You remember yesterday when you collapsed in the park?"
Lincoln nods and walks over to Lisa" Yeah, I remember it felt like my heart was going to explode from my chest. Why?
" The thing is my fellow human is that I or any other of our siblings didn't recure you yesterday".
Lincoln's eyes widen" Then who was it then Lisa? Was it Clyde?"
Lisa shakes her head" No it wasn't Clyde Lincoln it was someone else entirely.
Lincoln looks puzzled" Someone else? Who could It be Lisa?
Lisa hesitates before speaking" It was a stranger Lincoln. Someone I have seen before in my life" she says". He brought you back home to show us what kind of condition you were in."
Lincoln's eyes widen in shock" A stranger?"
Lisa nods "Lincoln, I can assure you that he wasn't a stranger to you. but a stranger to us".
Lincoln furrows his eyes brows" What do you mean Lisa? someone I know helps me yesterday, but why?"
Lisa nods" I'm not entirely sure my over-worrying brother but the one thing I do know is that he wanted me to give you this".
Lisa pulls out a piece of paper from her pocket and hands it over to Lincoln." Make sure to read all the continents on the paper. You don't want to miss out on any important instructions".
Lincoln nods and then proceeds to the piece of paper. Reading through the piece of paper he has been instructed to meet the mysterious figure at the park because apparently, he wants to talk to him in private.
Lincoln puts the piece of paper down and looks at Lisa" It says he wants to meet me at the park a 6 pm so that means I've got to 2 hours to wait." He says worriedly" Do you think this Is a good idea, Lisa? what if he tries to get a sneak attack on me?"
Lisa shakes her head "You are overthinking Lincoln. I don't think this person would go out of their way to save you just to extinguish you the next day." She says" Take your sword just in case the worst scenario happens. The probability of anything bad happening is low. But the possibility is still there so watch out."
