6- The Battle of Ba Sing Se.

After a very troubled, scary and unfortunate night, morning finally arrived to the desolated area left by the rampage of the female Muto. Now with she gone, everything was quiet and peaceful again, with the fog almost covering the river side. A lone wolf was watching what had happened to its habitat before hearing something that made it run away back into the woods after passing through all the rubble. Near there stood a worried Momo, who was searching for his friends hopping on rock to rock and calling them. Next, a noise caught his attention from behind, which was no one else but Toph clearing the area with her earthbending. She alongside Suki, Sokka and Zuko were searching the entire place looking for Katara and Aang. The little lemur got happy to see the group safe and sound and flew fast toward Sokka before landing on his neck and licking him excited, of course after startling him a little by the surprise.

"Oh, hi Momo. Yeah, I'm glad to see you too." Sokka said patting the lemur's head.

"I can't believe this happened again." Suki lamented looking at their surroundings. "How the female made it to catch us off guard?"

"Ask it to our special earthly eyes right here."

"Hey! I'm as shocked here as you are!" Toph defended. "How I was supposed to know that she-Muto was just right in front of our noses?! I didn't expect her to be able to camouflage from my vision knowing how big she is."

"Hum, maybe she and her mate might have some kind of secret ability which can make them invisible to some types of vision sometimes, including yours." Zuko theorized.

"Well, you've a good point there. But still the thing that most disturbs me is the sight of that huge egg sack of hers." Sokka reminded, feeling disgusted by that memory, just like the rest.

"Yuck! Yeah, you're right. I wish I never saw that." Toph added disgusted. "In times like that, I wish I was totally blind." That comment made everyone to look at her stunned. "Yeah, I can't believe I said that too."

"But that's not the worst. The female ended destroying the train and shallowing one of the bombs as her meal. And leaving no surviving soldiers." Suki recalled what they saw last night.

"Indeed. We all underestimated the Muto's capabilities." Zuko pointed. "This wasn't according to the plan, and that's what worries me. If we have had this setback, what else can go wrong?"

"I don't know, but you're right, Zuko. Maybe the admiral and the others have rushed with this plan and wasn't a good idea after all, but…unfortunately, we cannot stop it now." Sokka commented. "And right now we have to find Aang and Katara, make sure they're fine. KATARA! AANG!"

"HEY! Where are you guys?! Answer us!"

"We are here!" Aang's voice called from some distance.

The group responded to the Avatar's call running at him, Momo included by flying. After running a while, they found Aang alongside Katara, who was using her healing abilities of waterbending with Lieutenant Brody, who looked weak and covered in mud and dust.

"So you were here." Toph said relieved.

"Are you two okay?" Sokka asked, wanting to be sure her sister and best friend were truly fine.

"We're, but…Ford doesn't look like much." Aang answered before Momo landed on his shoulders and patted him.

"He's the only survivor of the train attack beside us. He was very lucky, the others…" Katara said, unable to finish the phrase. "This should help you get stable."

"Thank you." Ford said weakly, trying his best to breath slowly and steady. "And the bombs?"

"There's only one left." Aang responded, pointing at the remaining one intact a few meters from where they were. "The female Muto got the other one and ate it whole."

"So…what does that mean? The whole plan has failed?" Toph asked.

"No, we can…still use the other one. A rescue team…will come and…" Ford said, still struggling to talk without difficulty.

"Please, don't. You have to save your strength or it will take longer for you to recover." Katara advised.

"No. You don't…understand. My wife and son…are in Ba Sing Se. I…I've to reach them."

"Don't worry. We'll bring you there with us." Suki reassured.

At the moment, Appa appeared coming from above in the sky and landed in front of them.

"Yep, here we got our best ride to Ba Sing Se." Sokka added smiling.

At the same time, an airship of Monarch's military forces arrived and began deploying some troops while recovering the last warhead with some cables as Zuko and Sokka helped Ford to get on his feet and took him to Appa before everyone helped him to get aboard with them. Meanwhile in Ba Sing Se, the troops of the Earth Kingdom were helping all citizens from all the rings of the city to evacuate and getting aboard the evacuation vehicles, just in the same time Appa reached there and was flying over it alongside the airship that had the warhead inside it and two more at its right and left, with also an incoming storm from the sea, with the sky already clouded and the feeling that it could start raining any moment. The group of young ones and the lieutenant could see that the multiple walls that divided the rings of the city were now much, much taller, bigger and wider. Maybe some kind of strategy in order to prevent the Mutos and Godzilla to enter the city and keep them outside. A desperate plan from some point of view. The earthbenders also created a huge and extensive bridge of rock that connected the shore of Lake Laogai with the outside of the city, the pathway for the evacuation of the citizens. Team Avatar noticed about these new details too.

"Hey, it's just me or the walls of the city look bigger and taller than before?" Aang asked curious.

"No, they really are." Sokka confirmed focusing his sight. "I guess they wanted to make sure than they can't enter the city."

"Yeah, but which ones?" Katara asked. "The Mutos? Or Godzilla?"

"I don't know. Probably all them."

"Well, that seems to me like a waste of time." Toph opined. "Knowing how strong those creatures are from what we have seen until now, I doubt those walls are gonna last long when they reach here."

"You're probably right, Toph." Aang agreed. "There's no guarantee that the walls can keep the Mutos out of Ba Sing Se. We're talking about giant animals, not armies. But…that giant bridge that goes from Lake Laogai to out of the city…now that's something else."

"A giant bridge? That wasn't before."

"Yeah. There's a giant bridge made by earthbending that connects the inside with the outside." Suki explained, as Toph couldn't see it when they were flying. "That's how they are getting everyone out of the city."

"But…that's not gonna be easy either." Katara said. "Back when we came to the city for the first time, there were lots of refugees that went to the city looking for a safe place, remember? And now…taking all that people out of there in time…"

"It's looks more like an impossible mission. Nothing like this has happened before in history, something that forced the Earth Kingdom's capital to evacuate all its people. So that's why they don't know exactly how to do it properly." Zuko clarified. "And as if that weren't too much, we are all against the clock."

Everyone lowered their heads down, as they knew that Zuko was right. They didn't know where the Mutos were currently, the same for Godzilla. Next, the saw the airship that carried the warhead go stray off course.

"Hey! Where are they taking it?" Aang asked Ford.

"I'm not sure. I think twenty miles offshore, convergence point." Ford answered. "After they checked it with their other engine team aboard one of the ships in the lake, if I remember well. Then they're gonna lure them there."

"Three birds, one stone, huh?" Toph said.

"That's the idea."

"I hope you're right, for everyone sake." Zuko reminded.

"And it's two birds, not three, remember?" Aang corrected. "Godzilla is on our side. It's the Mutos which we have to stop."

"I hope you're right about that." Ford said.

"Yeah, me too." Katara said for herself with some doubts, even after what Aang told about what Godzilla did for him.

As Ford supposed, the airship dropped carefully the warhead over one of the ships on the lake, with the troops on deck ready for pick up. Meanwhile at the city, the evacuation transports prepared to move toward the bridge. Much of them were already at their full capacity of people to transport, Jin and Hope's family included and began their way up the bridge, right to the outsides of Ba Sing Se.

Territories of Ba Sing Se. Tactical operations command.

At that place, far from the capital stood the temporary tactical operations command base, just where Appa and his passengers landed nearby. Zuko and Sokka helped Ford to got off Appa and carry him toward the base, just when they all were received by some soldiers.

"I got him! I got him! Thanks, Team Avatar. We'll take it from here." A medic soldier thanked them before he and the other two soldiers carried Ford near the medic station. "Just sit down here. Sit, sit. Here." He advised to Ford to sit down before checking his condition. "Did you lose consciousness?"

"I'm okay, thanks to the Avatar, the Fire Lord and their friends." Ford reassured. "Really, I'm fine."

After seeing that Ford was in good hands, Aang and his friends went to search anyone who could tell them about the current situation. At the same time, Admiral Stenz also arrived to the control place and got inside.

"Sitrep, please. Location of targets?" Stenz asked to his subordinates.

"Male Muto was spotted 30 miles off the Serpent's Pass." A male officer reported.

"Showing seismic activity to the east near the same position. Should be the female closing in." A female officer reported next.

"Where's Godzilla?" Stenz asked next.

"We still got no reports after we lost him nearby the Serpent's Pass; maintaining a bearing of 053 degrees, descending below a depth of 10.000 feet, and we don't know where could he currently-" Martinez said before someone gave her some paper, probably a new report. "Wait, we already have a new report of now. Last contact was five hours ago, right at…Lake Laogai." She reported stunned by this, just like the admiral and everybody else there.

"Lake Laogai? How is that possible? How he arrived there so quickly?" The admiral asked confused and a little alarmed.

"We have no idea, sir. But that's where he was spotted shortly ago, right at its depths. Be on land within the hour."

Stenz got more nervous after realizing something else. "There's still evacuation vehicles on that bridge."

At the same time, on the middle of the bridge that stood over the waters of Lake Laogai, the environment seemed to get not better at the time as the storm covered the skies of Ba Sing Se and it started raining all over the place. The troops there were dealing with the evacuation protocol and the procedures for a proper traffic of the road. Fortunately, almost all the vehicles with evacuated families and civilians had already crossed to the other side, but there still yet so many citizens in the city. Alongside the soldiers were Mai and Ty Lee who went there to help with the evacuation too. But right now, one of them were not in a good mood because of the current weather.

"Great, just great. As it wasn't enough, now it starts raining." Mai complained annoyed, already wet.

"It's just water from the sky, Mai. It cannot do us any harm." Ty Lee assured, not caring of getting herself wet while opening her mouth to drink a good amount of rain. "But…all this change of weather seems more like a sign of bad omen for me." She confessed after drinking.

"Since when did you become so superstitious?"

"Well, after everything that had happened, I cannot help of feeling this way."

"Anyway, of all places for us to be sent for helping people, it had to be this one. Not to mention this kind of task is mostly boring."

"And do you prefer to be a few meters nearby those huge things rumbling around?" Ty Lee asked her with a suspicious look.

That made Mai to be quiet, look up and reflect about her own words a few seconds before turning back at Ty Lee. "You got me there."

"Yes. It surprises me how smart I can be sometimes. Oh, look! Over there!" Ty Lee said pointing at the new soldiers and tanks that just arrived and taking positions to protect the bridge and the remaining vehicles carrying citizens while planes flew from above the bridge.

"How delightful. Reinforcements have finally arrived. About time."

Not only the tanks took positions, but also a fleet of ships, which stood like blocking the way to where the bridge was.

"I wonder why all those ships are there." Ty Lee said curious.

"Who knows? Like if that is gonna stop those creatures that simple." Mai responded, only giving one look at the fleet.

Ty Lee began to get tired of her friend's current pessimist attitude and faced her serious. "You know Mai? With that attitude you're not gonna be a good Fire Lady. You've to give a good impression to the Fire Nation, and for that you need to have a more positive and supporting behavior from now on. We all had enough with Azula."

Mai got stunned by what Ty Lee said, blinking her eyes twice and started to feel sorry for her behavior, letting out a sigh. "Yeah, I know. I'm sorry, Ty Lee. It's just…all this bad weather, being all soaked by the rain and the stress because this big crisis…sometimes I cannot help it."

"I know, Mai. But you know what? Now you look exactly how Zuko was before you gave him that great advice of yours. I guess you two are more similar than I thought." Ty Lee said putting a comforting hand on her shoulder, and making Mai to chuckled at her words.

"Yeah, I think you're right. I'm sorry. Maybe its not thing of mine to make this kind of promises, but from now on, I'll try to be in a better-"

But she was interrupted by some big and familiar roar that filled the air and echoed, making everyone to shut up and remain in silence.

"Did you hear that?" Ty Lee asked, feeling nervous and a little scared.

"Yeah, of course I heard it." Mai confirmed, alert for anything to happen. "It came from there." She said pointing at the bigger part of water of the lake in front of the fleet.

"How do you know?"

"By them." Mai said looking up at the clouded sky.

Ty Lee looked at the sky just like Mai did and saw a huge flock of birds flying away over them and to mainland. They looked like scared of something, something that was coming there. Everyone else saw it, even the soldiers that were on the ships' decks.

"Portside! Two hundred meters!" One of the soldiers from one of the ships reported pointing something in the distance on the lake.

The rest of the crew tried to get a closer look at what their companion was referring to. Then, they saw something moving slowly on the surface of the water, a group of spiked dorsal plates, and familiar ones. It was no one else than Godzilla, and was coming right at them in a collision course toward their ship.

"Brace!" The commanding officer yelled, he and his troops preparing for incoming impact.

But then, when the dorsal plates where just a couple of meters from hitting the ship, he stopped swimming. That was a relief for the ship's crew, who were breathing hard. With the giant animal in front of them, the ships positioned themselves around him and turning their guns at him ready to open fire at their target.

"Hold your fire. Hold your fire." Someone ordered from a speaker, seeing that the Titan stood still.

And then, the plates seemed to start rising from the water, revealing to be only his giant tail, leaving everyone shocked and surprised, while the rest of the massive body began to rise at the other side, making some of the ships to move aside by force.

"Fire! Fire! Fire!" One of the commanders ordered.

The ships began firing their explosive guns at Godzilla's plates, but it did nothing. In fact, some of the projectiles missed their target and flew passing nearly the bridge, forcing Mai, Ty Lee and the troops to take cover and scaring the civilians from the last vehicle of the first evacuation, who had to reassume moving before the bridge could be destroyed by accident.

"What are you doing?! You're going to blow the bridge!" Ty Lee shouted at the ships.

"Stop firing right now!" Mai shouted too.

But it didn't work, as one of the projectiles blew one of the stone brackets of above, forcing some of the troops to get out of there to avoid the falling debris, which forced the vehicle to stop again.

"Striker! There's civilians on the bridge." The soldier in charge of the bridge operation informed by radio. "Hold your fire!"

But once again, it didn't work. And everyone saw in shock more projectiles coming at them, but then these were intercepted in time by the dorsal plates of the dinosaur as he continued getting up, and making everyone to stood wordless while watching over them the imposing figure of Godzilla, except the little baby Hope, who laughed at seeing the giant dinosaur showing up.

"Open fire!" The order was called again as Godzilla let out a roar before grabbing one of the brackets with his hand with claws.

Godzilla had a grip on the bracket for a few seconds before releasing it as he got distracted, annoyed and troubled by all the fire he was receiving, growling back at it while the last transport escaped before anything else could happen.

"If they keep attacking him, he'll end bringing down the bridge sooner or later! We've to get out of here and this mess!" Mai advised exclaiming as she and Ty Lee went for some cover. "The question is how?!"

Ty Lee gave a look to Godzilla's back and then an idea came to her mind as she smiled, a crazy one. "I got an idea. Come on!" She encouraged going out and running to the bridge side that was near Godzilla.

"Ty Lee! What are you doing?!" Mai asked in a hurry as she ran after her friend.

"I know what to do, Mai! If we hop on his back and climb up to his plates, we can go down fast by slipping down his back, and once we reach the tail, we'll just need to jump and end falling into the water, and then safe and sound." Ty Lee explained pointing at Godzilla's back.

"Are you crazy?! There's no way we're gonna do that!" Mai defended in disbelief at Ty Lee's crazy plan.

"Do you prefer to do that or wait here until the bridge goes down?!"

Mai couldn't answer that because another projectile flew very near over them while Godzilla kept growling in annoyance from the constant bothering projectiles flying and impacting on him.

"Miss Chi Blocker Girl wants to live!" Ty Lee concluded as she began to climb up the bridge in order to get near enough to Godzilla before making her next move.

Mai sighed in defeat before following Ty Lee. "I know I will regret this."

The two non-bender girls stood at the edge of the bridge, close enough to the body of Godzilla and prepared to make their best jump. It was a very risky move, but in the end, both friends succeeded in hooking on his skin at his right side. Next the gals began climbing up without the dinosaur noticing it. Because they were on the right side of Godzilla, they were also shielded from the constantly firing at him. After a long climbing the pair reached the giant plates, where they stood catching their breath for a few seconds as they looked down the way of the dorsal plates to the tail ,which was an impressive and frightening sight, while they did their best to hold tight from Godzilla's sudden movements and not end falling down.

"I hope you know what you're doing!" Mai warned, worried and still unsure of Ty Lee's plan.

"Me too." Ty Lee admitted worried and scared as well as she shallowed hard, starting to doubt that if that was a good idea after all, but there was no turning back now. So she took a deep breath before ignoring all those insecure feelings of herself. "GERONIMO!" She shouted as she jumped and began slipping down the immense back of Godzilla fast, followed by Mai who had no choice but to do the same.

And that's how it began their big ride down between the giant plates of the alpha predator while screaming, because that's the only thing they could do. It was like going down some kind of giant water slide without much water or riding on a roller coaster, but one that no one had tried before. It was kind of exciting and frightening at the same time. After a few seconds of slipping down the Titan, the little girls reached the tail and just at the right time when the tip was moving nearby the surface of the lake, launching the two of them not so high and far over the water and ending falling on it. A few seconds later, the two gals reached to the surface, a little sore from the impact on the water but unharmed. And because of this both females had now their long hair down.

Ty Lee laughed after spitting some water and seeing that her plan worked. "You know? That was kind of fun."

But Mai didn't see that hilarious, as she was now more wet and spitting water before looking at her with her normally serious face. "I'm not going to do that again. Ever."

Then they turned their heads up to see Godzilla growling while breaking through the bridge like nothing and cutting it in half with just his body, forced to leave from there in order to evade the continuous attacks, just like they predicted.

"Hum, you know? You were right." Mai said at her friend, taking back what she said earlier.

"See? I told you it would work." Ty Lee said before she and Mai began swimming to the nearest ship for its crew to pick them up.

As for Godzilla, he walked away from the attacks while letting out another roar and making his way to mainland besides leaving the fleet behind. Even if he could get rid of all those ships so easily, that was an unnecessary conflict for him and he knew that very well. It wasn't worthy to waste time with the humans when the real threat for both him and everybody else was so close at the time. Seeing that Godzilla was now there, the crew of the ship that had the remaining warhead saw that the time had come to prepare the weapon.

"All right, get in there! Prepare to arm the device!" The officer in charge instructed.

The soldiers opened up the warhead cover as well its control panel. Next, two of the soldiers used two keys to prepare the bomb for its countdown system activation.

"Arming keys!" One of the soldiers that had one of the keys announced, and once he and his partner were synchronized, looked at each other ready for the next step, which was the most important and crucial one. "Three! Two! One!"

And thus…the bomb was activated, beginning its long countdown. Now there was no turning back. But suddenly, a weird but familiar sound was heard all around the place, and not only that. Said sound was followed by an EMP that originated itself in the sky and among the clouds, spreading all around and reaching the fleet, leaving all ships with no power, thing that the pilot of the ship saw as the controls didn't respond.

"What in the world was that?" One of the soldiers asked.

"EMP." Another soldier answered.

"Engine's stopped! We lost power!" The pilot reported.

And that was not the only proof of it. The soldiers began seeing planes falling from the sky and hard all over the lake and its surroundings while their pilots descended safety in parachutes. One of those fell very near their ship, making a big wave that shook the boat and pushed everyone to the other side of the ship easily. Fortunately, nobody got hurt.

"You all right?" The one in charge asked.

"Yeah." One of the soldiers said as he and his companions watched the plane sinking into the lake.

But the worst was yet to come, and closer than they thought, as they saw the male Muto roaring, appearing from above among the clouds and flying fast dangerously, right at them. That really caught them by surprise.

"Fire! Incoming!" The leader yelled, with everyone attacking the beast, but it was too late.

The male collided directly with the ship, dragging it into the depths of the lake with everyone inside. Mai and Ty Lee also saw them disappearing into the water in shock before looking at each other wordless. But a few seconds later, the male resurfaced from the water in the nearest shore with the ship grabbed on his mouth, scaring all the people that was there. Next, he dropped the ship in land and used one of his bigger legs to hold still the ship and pick the warhead with his mouth and grabbed later with one of his smaller forelimbs before taking flight again, this time in direction to the center of the city, flying all over the walls and inside the upper ring. At the end, he reached the royal palace and landed right there, stomping all over the Earth King's home like nothing. The male stood there looking at some huge dust cloud coming from some part of wall crumbling down, which was because the other Muto; the female, had arrived too and had no problem forcing her way through the walls. The male Muto launched a courtship call to the air, which was responded with a similar one from the dust cloud. So next thing the male did was flying a little toward the dust cloud and landed in front of it with the warhead now back on his mouth, probably as a gift for his mate. In that moment, the female appeared walking slowly at him, and she was happy to see him at long last, the same for the male. The female received her mate nicely by making some signs of affection; like stroking his head gently with her own, emitting happy-like sounds and touching the tip of his jaws with hers, like if they were kissing. Next, she grabbed the warhead with her mouth, passed it to one of her smaller forelimbs and put it nearby her egg sack. The male also came a little closer so he could take a better look to the eggs; his future offspring, something that the female allowed. The male even stroke gently the sack with his head, another sign of affection for both his mate and offspring. After all that, the male guided his mate back to the crumbled royal palace and next he stood in guard nearby in order to protect her while she began to prepare a proper safe place to spawn, especially now that their natural enemy and predator was on the same place as they two, so once again he took flight and went in search for Godzilla and keep him busy. As for the female, she began using her bigger legs to dig all through whatever remained of the royal palace and far below to start creating the nest, the place which she and the male would complete their courtship, mating and where she would later put the bomb alongside the eggs for feeding them. Things had gotten worse for Ba Sing Se and everyone who was still there, now trapped. At the same time, back at the tactical operations command base, Aang and Katara were with Ford, trying to help him figuring out where could be his wife and son and if someone from the base knew something about them. And it seems that they found that someone.

"Sam Brody was checked into the coliseum shelter an hour ago." An officer that was helping with the evacuation procedure of the transports informed them. "He is safe. No record of Elle Brody. Never made it out of the city."

"Well, check again. Please." Ford insisted, worried for his wife. "I told her to wait for me, and I didn't make it."

"They are trying to get everyone downtown into underground shelters. I'm sure your wife is fine." The officer reassured before leaving to some other place, leaving Ford still worried, even a little more, something that Katara and Aang realized.

"Don't worry, lieutenant. We'll help you find your wife." Aang offered.

"What? You…really mean it?" Ford recalled surprised.

"Yeah. She must be still in Ba Sing Se, alongside many other people left." Katara assured. "Besides, it's our duty to help people in need, especially with all what is happening now."

"I…I don't know what to say. Thank you, Avatar." Ford thanked bowing at them.

"No worries. It's what we do best." Aang recalled. "We can go flying on Appa to the city and look for her once there."

Katara nodded at her boyfriend's idea. "And I know just the girl for the task. I'm sure Toph will be glad to make some good use of her earthbending and metalbending for helping. Lately, she had been doing very good at that with the Mutos rampaging all around towns."

"Well, then look who's coming just in time."

Aang pointed at their friend Toph, who was running at them, seeming to be in a hurry.

"Aang! Katara!" Toph called as she was arriving.

"Toph. We're talking about you right now." Aang said.

"What's wrong, Toph? You look troubled." Katara deduced by the looks of her, catching her breath.

"It's the Mutos! They've taken the bomb and brought it to the city, and its already activated!" Toph revealed, shocking Ford, the Avatar and the waterbender.

"What?!" Aang and Katara asked in surprise and shock.

"You gotta come! Quickly!"

The trio didn't think twice and followed the young earthbender to the command post, where their friends Suki, Sokka and Zuko were already there and not happy, as they also were aware of the recent news.

"Avatar Aang. We were waiting for you to join us." Admiral Stenz said, welcoming him, Katara and Ford at their reunion.

"Then someone is gonna tells us what exactly happened?" Aang demanded seriously.

"I'll tell you what happened, pal. That they messed it up, that's what!" Sokka answered.

"How we supposed to know that the male would do such thing?" Hampton excused.

"Well, I'm not surprised, knowing that you have been constantly underestimating those creatures." Suki pointed. "And now the Mutos had taken the bomb right at the center of the most populated city of the entire Earth Kingdom, and its countdown is already on!"

"If that's true, then that bomb can provoke more victims than the Mutos had cause since they awakened." Aang deduced.

"Sure, and these clever ones knew all this time." Toph pointed.

"This situation is exactly what I didn't want to end happening! I thought I told that clearly before, and you have failed." Zuko expressed mad.

"We know, Fire Lord Zuko. And…we're deeply sorry for it." Stenz apologized in name of everyone there.

"You better be it, admiral. Now we have no option but to clean this mess of yours, which is what always seems to be for me and my friends."

"You better have a plan for this, if you already thought that this could happen." Katara said, wanting to see if they could try to make up for this big mistake of theirs.

"And we have it." Hampton answered.

"What? Really?" Sokka asked, surprised.

"Of course. The male delivered the warhead to the center of the city, right at the same royal palace. That puts around 100.000 civilians in the blast radius. We can't stop it remotely."

"An analog timer has been installed. The Mutos are frying electronics and machineries within a five-mile bubble." The captain of the squad for the next mission instructed.

"Yeah, we know that. This superbomb is supposed to be the most primitive and retro supported technologically in order to prevent the EMPs of the Mutos to affect it. So, are you gonna tells us something else that we don't know?"

"Well kid, that means approaching from ground is not an option. That's why we'll be conducting a HALO insertion."

"Halo insertion? What's that?" Zuko asked confused and curious.

"It's an insertion which consist in jumping from high altitudes, ours will be 30.000 feet."

"That high?!" Toph said a little alarmed. "I don't like how this sounds." She said in low voice, a little worried.

"We just skate to the top and drop. Here. And here." The captain continued explaining showing the landing points in map of Ba Sing Se. "If you don't hit a wall on the way, meet at rally point Charlie. Right here. Good?"

"Doctor, any guess where we must look?" Aang asked to Serizawa, who was also there alongside Graham.

"Underground, below the royal palace. If the Mutos have spawned, they'll be building a nest."

"Great. More bad news." Katara said sarcastically.

"Em, isn't supposed to be me the one sarcastically here?" Sokka questioned, making his sister to glare at him.

"Not now, Sokka." Suki pleaded.

"Captain, when you find the warhead, how long to disarm it?" Stenz asked next.

"Without seeing the analog nod, I couldn't even guess." The captain responded.

"Sixty seconds if I can access it." Ford answered then, catching everyone's attention. "I retrofitted that device myself."

"Lieutenant Brody is our only EOD tech to survive the train attack alongside Team Avatar." Hampton declared.

"Well, it sounds like we could use you, alongside your companions." The captain offered. "That if the Avatar and his friends wants to join us."

"Well, since we don't want the Earth Kingdom's capital to end like a meteor crater…yes, you can guess that." Sokka confirmed.

"And if you need to find a superweapon all buried underground that place, you wouldn't find a better girl for the task." Toph added.

"With all due respect, if that doesn't work, then what's Plan B?" One of the soldiers asked.

"The waterfront is located one klick downhill, after passing the broken walls and the mountain barrier." The captain began explaining again. "Get the bomb to the pier, onto an airship and later to a boat and as far away from the city as possible before it detonates."

"Wait. And that's it?" Katara asked in protest. "Just let it explode?!"

"One way or another, this bomb was supposed to be used." Stenz confessed. "But honestly, I expect any of you or the Avatar to have a possible solution for this situation as none of you agree with it."

Aang and the others were caught off guard there, not sure what to say about it, lowering their heads in shame. They didn't want that situation to happen, but they neither thought about what to do with the bomb at that point.

"We'll think about it on the way." Zuko finally responded, facing everyone for his friends and team, with them nodding in agreement.

"Alright then. Anymore questions?" Hampton asked, with nobody else saying anything more. "Dismissed."

"That's it. Let's move." The captain ordered, making everyone to get ready for the mission, including Team Avatar.

"Lieutenant?" Hampton called, making Ford to turn at him. "They've already been briefed. We have no extraction plan. If you don't walk out, you don't come back at all."

"Sir, I'll do whatever it takes." Ford answered, understand how serious the situation was, with the captain nodding.

"Make sure to tell it to the Avatar, Fire Lord Zuko and their friends."

"Yes, sir." Ford said before leaving.

After helping the troops by carrying some supplies to some of the transports outside, Zuko turned his sight at where Serizawa was, who was looking in direction to where Ba Sing Se was far in the distance and already covered by the storm, probably feeling that something huge was going to happen there. The young Fire Lord walked at him before standing at his side.

"Doctor." Zuko saluted.

"Fire Lord Zuko." Serizawa saluted back, looking at him briefly before turning his sight back to the front.

"This alpha predator of yours, doctor, do you really think he has a chance?" Zuko asked with share curiosity. "The situation has become much worst now, even for Godzilla. I mean, the odds are not looking good for him. It seemed to be only one monster at first, and now its two against one, so…well, that's not fair, even for a creature like him."

"The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around." Serizawa answered with wisdom, something that made the former Fire Prince remember his uncle, who was very wise too.

"I see. So…it's best to just let nature run its course."

Serizawa nodded at those words. "Let them fight."

Meanwhile, back at Ba Sing Se, the troubled, worried and scared citizens that remained yet in the city and scattered around it contemplated the male Muto flying around and over them, like if he was patrolling, and he was. After a long flight, the male hooked on one of the walls while roaring and moving his wings a while, what scared the citizens that saw it from the ground, the wife of Lieutenant Brody, Elle, among them and backed off, running at the opposite direction. But then everyone stopped by seeing the cause of the Muto threatening roar and the crowd stood frozen in shock as they saw Godzilla rising from the shore of the lake and looking at his opponent fearless, with determination and bravery, ready to continue his fight. Seeing themselves trapped between the two Titans, everyone ran toward an underground bunker that the earthbender troops made for the citizens to get to safety underground while the male charged toward his enemy in the air. And so, all the remaining people of Ba Sing Se entered the shelter and saw for a few seconds how the two giants clashed before Godzilla grabbed the male with his jaws, just before the doors closed with only the echoes of the frightened citizens remaining in the air alongside the roar of Godzilla as everything got dark inside. A few hours later at high altitude, as sunset was almost complete, a special airship of the military forces appeared rising among the clouds accompanied by Team Avatar riding on Appa alongside Momo. All of them were wearing a parachute, special masks and googles, except Aang and Zuko for the parachute thing, as they were joining the operation including the HALO jump, they were gonna need them.

"Wow, it's really high. They weren't joking when they said it was gonna be one big jump." Sokka expressed watching how high they were at the moment. "We've never been this high before."

"Thanks Sokka, that really helps a lot." Toph said sarcastically, feeling herself even more worried than before.

"Oh, right. Sorry."

"It's hard to believe that we're over Ba Sing Se right now." Suki added surprised. "I can't imagine what could be happening down there."

"Yeah, me neither. But…we had an idea of what and how could it be." Sokka said.

Katara turned at front, right at Appa's head where Aang was guiding him, who looked concerned too. "Aang? Are you okay?" She asked him.

Aang sighed like being a little stressed. "This…is going to be our biggest challenge, and…we haven't faced anything like this before. I don't know what's gonna happen from now on. There are so many things that can go wrong. Anything can happen to any of us. And I…I've never being so worried like right now in my life. I don't know if I will be up to this task either." But then he felt the comforting hand of the person that he cared most in the world on his shoulder once again, like she always had done.

"I know this looks overwhelming, we all know and it looks like that for us as well. But…just like before, you are not alone in this task."

"Katara's right, Aang. This is not so different from when we stopped my father's plans at the day of the comet." Zuko supported. "Everything seemed to be against our favor but…we managed to make the difference and change the odds."

"Yeah. It really doesn't matter what kind of challenge we face in the end." Sokka agreed. "Firebenders, Dai Li, bounty hunters, Fire Lords, giant monsters… there's no difference at all. We're Team Avatar, and we'll never stop fighting for our people and the world. Never forget it." He pronounced as everybody else looked at Aang with a smile and nodded, which encouraged the airbender's spirit and put a smile on his face again.

"Thank you, everybody. You're right. We saved the world once and we shall do it again." Aang proclaimed.

Katara chuckled happy at hearing this. "That's the Avatar that I know."

In that moment, the sound of an alarm was heard coming from the airship's rear part.

"They're going to jump. Get ready." Zuko instructed, making everyone to prepare for the great jump.

At the hangar of the airship that started opening, the group of soldiers got ready for the jump too already equipped with parachutes, special googles and masks to breath properly during the fall, with Ford among them. As for Aang, he was also giving some instructions to Appa and Momo.

"From now on, we'll be separated from you. Once we jump, you two must go down to the lake shores and wait there. We'll meet with you once everything is over and whatever happens, don't come looking for us, not as long the Mutos are in the city. Alright you guys?" Aang instructed to both mammals, who answered with growls and little screeches, which sounded like yes for the little airbender. "Alright. Don't forget to take care of each other. And be careful." Aang said last patting the heads of both animals before gathering with the group.

"Once they jump first, we'll follow." Zuko said before allowing Toph to ride on his back. "Hold yourself tight to me all you can and close your eyes. I'll tell you when we get near to the ground."

"Thanks. Now I'm feeling better." Toph said, still very concerned and scared but a little better after putting on her googles and mask.

With everything ready, the team waited for the soldiers to do the jump first. As for them, they stood formed up in two groups in line, some of them nervous too, watching the sunset and hearing the strong air currents from the outside waiting for the signal for jumping. Seconds later, a new alarm sounded, the time had come for performing the jump. Each and every one of the soldiers ran to the edge of the hangar and jumped right to the void in formation, leaking red smoke from some special flares attached to their feet to signal their companions their position as they fell. That was also the signal for Team Avatar to begin the descent as well. Once they began following the soldiers by falling, Appa and Momo went separated ways from them flying down back to the ground their own way. That way down was such an intense and overwhelming experience for the kids and teenagers, as they had to keep calm and not get in panic, and said thing was not so easily, and it was going to be a long fall. Even so, they did very well at that, especially when they fell crossing some big clouds before started to fall right over the storm that was now all over Ba Sing Se, with all the lightning and thunder exploding all around them. Toph, who was the one that was having the worst time of them all did her best to ignore all that, with her eyes closed and focusing in her own mind and not the noises of her surroundings, besides of not feeling well…again. A few seconds later, everyone finally spotted their destination below them, and it wasn't looking good. The entire great capital city of the Earth Kingdom was made wreckage and covered in flames and smoke while mostly of the walls were now rubble, all embraced in the darkness. All the former glory of the most impenetrable city of the world turned into dust and broken stone and metal. Not even the Fire Nation had gotten this far when they occupied at long last the city some time ago. It was like a scene taken out from a nightmare.

"Oh no. It's just like in my dream." Aang said for himself shocked. "It has become true in the end."

And that wasn't the most shocking thing of all. Right at his front and below, Aang was able to contemplate a much more impressive but frightening thing. A few meters from where he was falling and illuminated by the thunderous lightning from the storm between the shadows, there were Godzilla and the male Muto fighting. The two titans were face to face, with the Muto hooked on him with his legs, trying to put his distance with his opponent, but it was not so easy as Godzilla grabbed him by the wings with his hands and put a good bite on him, forcing the flying parasite to let go of him and fly away. Godzilla let out another roar, with Aang falling at his side. That was a sight to be remembered for life. After this epic and unique experience and seeing that he was getting close to the ground, Aang used his airbending to slow down his fall and opened his glider to fly toward the gathering place, unaware of the male screeching and flying away behind him. Once he landed safe and sound, Aang looked up and saw his friends turning on their parachutes and descending slower than before. He even used his airbending to pull them down to the ground better, just in case, and it was perfect. Well, almost perfect, because Sokka ended crushing himself against an abandoned cabbage cart, destroying it in the process. Fortunately, he didn't get hurt, only covered in cabbages leaves and spitting one that he had in the mouth.

"Hey, I don't know why but this cart and cabbages sounds familiar for me." Sokka said having some strange feeling. "Haven't we seen them before somewhere?"

The other exception was Zuko and Toph, as he used his fire rockets to slow themselves down and land without difficulties. Of course, once they hit ground Toph hooked herself off Zuko and tried to recover her balance as she felt herself as dizziest as she never felt in her life, so she had to crouch for not to fall backwards.

"And just I thought that I couldn't get dizzier than flying on Appa or inside a submarine." Toph expressed, feeling like she was going to vomit. "And I was wrong. Finally, back in solid ground again." She said touching gently the earth with her hands and kissing it, but stopped once seeing clearly her surroundings and getting up. "Wow, this place is so messed up."

"It's hard to believe this was once the impenetrable capital of the Earth Kingdom." Suki lamented.

"It was made to be impenetrable for human invaders, not giant ancient creatures." Zuko recalled.

"I can't even recognize this place anymore." Sokka added. "Surely our house it will be scattered in pieces all around this mess."

Aang was not focused in their conversation at all, as he heard some familiar noise coming from his left, as well some recognizing giant shadow. He ran toward where the shadow disappeared as fast as he could for then seeing the immense feet and tail of Godzilla passing by in front of him. But he no longer felt anxious in such presence, all the contrary, feeling relieved, secured and with hope, like seeing an old friend. In fact, it was like that. And he knew that he wasn't the responsible of all that destruction.

"Aang?! Aang!" Katara called him as she ran at him, snapping him out of what he was watching at the moment. "We must not get separated. Why did you get here?" She asked before looking at Godzilla's tail disappearing and feeling a little nervous. "Oh, I see."

"Don't worry, Katara. He's only here to stop the Mutos. You already know that."

Katara looked confused at her boyfriend as he nodded at her, which calmed her down.

"There is Ford! Hey, right here!" Zuko called spotting Ford alongside some of the soldiers from the jumping team.

"Everyone, we found the Fire Lord!" Ford reported to the captain.

"Take position! Take position!" The captain ordered as he and the other soldiers gathered around Team Avatar.

"Are you all who made it?" Zuko asked next.

"I saw Team 1 move to the east. Two of our team members didn't make it." One of the soldiers informed. "I heard bits and pieces on the radio. Snipers on the walls moving into position."

"Is that all? It's just us then?" Sokka asked.

"Not at all. We've found two survivors when we reached the ground." The captain revealed, as he and the soldiers stepped aside to show them who they found, who were nobody else than Mai and Ty Lee for Zuko and the team surprise.

"Mai?! Ty Lee?! What are you doing here?" Zuko asked, not expecting to find them involved in such chaotic environment.

"We're trying our best to help with the evacuation of the people here and then…well, things got more messed up than we expected." Mai explained with Ty Lee nodding.

"We decided to stay and find the remaining citizens of here, but it's not an easy thing to do with those things rumbling all around the place, so…we've just running from one place to another trying to evade them and their fight." Ty Lee added, embarrassed for revealing of have been doing not such big thing until then.

"Well, this is not a regular situation for anybody, so you did what you could." Katara supported.

"We'll do that later. Right now, we have a bomb to find and a city to safe again." Sokka reminded everyone. "According to Serizawa, the Mutos have brought the warhead to their nest and put it there, right where the royal palace stood."

"And where is Godzilla?" Suki asked wondering where the third giant could be.

"Um, we just saw him back there." Katara said pointing where she and Aang saw Godzilla moving.

"Yes. He is chasing the male Muto right now. I saw them fighting when I was falling back there." Aang confirmed.

"Oh, well…good to know. I guess we only have to worry about the female, for now." Toph deduced.

"Here we go. Picking up the nuke." The scout reported, picking up a signal with a portable scanner that he had.

"Which way?" The captain asked.

"One klick up the hill, right where the royal palace is."

"We found the warhead. Let's go! Up the hill, to the royal palace, this direction. Move."

And so, everyone went running at where the royal palace was supposed to be, but not anymore. After some minutes of crossing the rubble covered streets of the city, the group reached the upper ring and their target. Once there, everyone saw that the house of the Earth King had been torn apart and now was almost unrecognizable. In fact, there was no longer any building that resembled anything like a palace there. Just one big hole in the ground surrounded by flames, rubble and dirt and covered by some sinister glowing dust cloud which glow was also coming stronger from the inside, besides of some recognizable cracking sounds. As they were getting closer to the place, Toph got a shocked look on her face, stopped running and forced everyone to stop by rising some rock barriers in front of them with her earthbending.

"Wait, stop!" Toph exclaimed. "We can't get any closer! It's not safe!" Next, she took cover behind the nearest barrier of her, and everyone followed her example realizing that she saw something alarming.

"We're so close to where the nest is, Toph! Why must we hide?!" Sokka demanded, trying to not talk in loud voice.

"Because in case you haven't realize, Captain Boomerang, we're at their home's doors and mommy is at guard. Just look it for yourselves." The young metalbender said pointing up.

And like Toph said, there they saw the leg of the female Muto stomping near the hole and behind what remained of the entrance of the palace, with her appearing among the dust while roaring at the air, a sinister scene for the humans to watch. Next, the female began to lay the eggs inside the hole, not a pleasant sight to watch for the group, who reacted disgusted at that, especially Toph as she could see the whole thing.

"From all the disgusting things I had seen in my life, that's the most of them all." Ty Lee confessed in low voice.

"Welcome to my world." Mai answered in low voice too.

"Well, at least you didn't have to see the whole thing unlike me." Toph complained before shivering in disgust and getting her tongue out.

"That makes our mission most difficult. As we know from animals, a mother stands very protective when it comes to her offspring, which makes her more dangerous." Katara pointed.

"And the bomb is inside the nest. She won't allow us to enter in like nothing. We're gonna need a distraction, a big one." Sokka deduced.

"As long as no one of us acts as bait." Aang warned.

But then, a new noise caught their attention turning at their backs, seeing a familiar big, long and strong scaled tail stomping over some buildings before rising in the sky and over them before disappearing in another giant dust cloud. Next, the light of a lightning revealed the figure of the only dinosaur owner of such tail taking a big step, and then…with another giant step, Godzilla appeared from the dusty mist, making everyone to stood shocked and wordless of his imposing figure. Next, he took a deep breath and let out another loud and mighty roar, even it made some of the young ones to cover their eyes until it finished.

Toph whistled in amaze. "That's some imposing roar. One of a kind."

"It surely is." Aang agreed.

Then everyone their attention back at the female Muto, who also got aware that Godzilla was there, and like if she accepted the challenge, she roared back at him and began walking at her opponent, not willing to fall without a fight. Because she was big enough, she only passed above the group with anyone getting hurt luckily.

"That's the distraction we needed! Now's our chance!" Sokka exclaimed.

"You heard the boy, men! Let's move, let's move." The captain ordered, making the soldiers to get out their hiding places and move toward the nest. "On my six."

Team Avatar followed them to the nest, with Aang being the last one as he stood a few seconds watching the female Muto and Godzilla walking at each other slowly but threatening. The two titanic creatures highlighting over the entire devastated metropolis, with only the broken walls being almost at their same height. Even if she wasn't as big as Godzilla, the female was not going to turn back at her enemy, and neither the dinosaur, and even if his power was lightly weakened by the electromagnetic adaptative nature of his foe, he still had an advantage over the arthropod-like vertebrate creature: his sheer force, very well focused and distributed by his better and simplest anatomy. Once he was close enough, he roared at her and made a tight grip on her neck with his strong hands before striking next with another big bite on her neck while pushing her backwards. Meanwhile, Team Avatar and the soldiers reached the entrance to the hole and regrouped at the edge of it.

"Wow, gotta admit it. That she-Muto knows how to make a great hole." Suki admitted.

"Yeah, and I thought the badger-moles were the best when it comes to digging." Toph added.

"And just think that all this was the royal palace once." Katara expressed, impressed and stunned at the same time.

"But where are the eggs?" Aang asked.

"At the bottom, alongside the bomb." Zuko deduced.

"Sarge, get a look at this." The captain commanded next.

Everyone knew that their target was way down there, but reaching there was not going to be easy. The entire place was a complete mess, too crowded with debris from the former palace and that was going to make hard the path to the nest, and some of the debris was unstable, with the risk of keep falling down.

"We gotta get moving. You got a signal yet?" The captain requested.

"I got it." The sergeant confirmed checking on the lectures of his scanner. "It's down there."

"Alright then. Aang and Toph, you two should go first." Sokka instructed. "You make a secure pathway for us to reach down there. Also, you have to clear the path from any debris and obstacles and strengthen the ground to avoid any risk of possible cave-in."

"Considerate it done." Toph reassured clenching her hands, ready for the job.

And just like that, Toph and Aang began working out using earthbending to make a safe pathway for everyone to go down the hole, clear up the area of debris and strengthen the floor to prevent possible cave-ins. In a few minutes everyone reached the level where the signal was stronger.

"All right, move, move!" The captain encouraged as the soldiers took down the debris that blocked the way.

Once done, the group saw they finally reached the final chamber: the nest, just where the eggs were attached to the warhead, nourishing them with the radiation. The troops entered the nest chamber fast, but when Aang and his friends got inside next, they got stunned when they saw the nest. The eggs emitted some radiation-detecting-device like sound and glowed like in some pattern, distributed from the warhead to up the ceiling, where most of them were put all around. They could even see the unbirth hatchlings squirming inside the glowing eggs.

"Look how many they are." Zuko witnessed.

"That's a lot of creepy crawlies." Toph added.

"It's worst than we thought." Katara realized. "If all those hatchlings get strong enough and manage to get out of this hole…"

"…the world will have no chance against a threat like that." Aang finished the phrase. "Not even Godzilla will be able to stop them. Guys, we've to destroy them."

"And we will, but first we have to get that nuclear bomb out of here, as fast as we can and as far as possible." Zuko reminded.

Meanwhile at the surface, the female Muto was having a hard time trying her best to stand against Godzilla, who had her still grabbed by the neck place with his hands and pushing her backwards with no much problem by using his body mass as weapon. The two passed through the wall that separated the upper ring from the middle ring and she tried to hook herself to it with some of her front legs, but it was useless as Godzilla proved to be very strong. The female could no longer endure it and fell backwards, very near where some of the scattered and frightened survivors were hidden with Elle among them, trying their best to stay safe and out of the fight. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case for this group. The soldiers that landed on the walls had good and views to watch the whole titanic battle. The female tried to get up as fast as she could, but Godzilla hit her back down with one of his feet. With his opponent now in the ground, Godzilla stomped her with his other foot and began crushing her with his weight and nailing the claws of his foot on her, submitting her without any complication. But before he could anything else, the male Muto appeared from nowhere in the sky, coming for his mate's aid, grabbing Godzilla with his front legs and dragging him as far as he could from his mate. Godzilla was caught by surprise, but he recovered his stand quickly and grabbed one the male's legs with his mouth, trying to shake him off him, but the male fought back and hit him with his hooked legs. That gave the female enough time to get up and come to help her mate charging at Godzilla and tackling him against another part of the wall while her mate landing on the wall. After shaking off all the debris and dust, Godzilla roared at the female, just when the male hit him with force on the neck with his legs again. Godzilla tried to bite him but the male retreated just in time while the female hit him strong on the gills with on of her legs, making him to bleed a little and roar in pain before almost falling to the ground. The tremors made by the brawling provoked some of the ceiling of the nest chamber to collapse in front of the teams.

"Look out!" Aang yelled and moved fast, making a strong wind shield around him and everyone else with his airbending to shelter from the cave-in and it worked. The bad thing was that their way was now blocked, a lot.

Meanwhile, on the heat of the battle, Godzilla was now in trouble with the Mutos team up as he couldn't keep up against them two; the female was bigger and stronger while the male was smaller and faster, besides of being a flying creature. That combination of skills became really effective against the alpha predator. Whenever he tried to counter back one of them, the other attacked from the other side, like when he tried to shake off the male out of him and the female took the chance to grab him with her jaws by the neck and push him back. At the end, Godzilla was brutally overpowered by the Muto couple that continued to beat him hard in the ground without giving him a break. At the same time, back with the Avatar and the others…

"No, no, no! This is not good! Not now!" Sokka exclaimed looking at the huge blockade of debris that stood now between them and the nest.

"We've to clear this blockade as fast as we can!" Zuko ordered.

"You heard the Fire Lord! No time to lose!" The captain encouraged as everyone began their best to clear up the blockade.

The members of Team Avatar helped too their own way: Sokka and Suki aid the soldiers by hand working as their friends used their bending for the job.

"Why could have caused that cave-in? What's going on up there?" Katara asked while taking out the debris with waterbending.

"Where's Godzilla?" Aang asked next before turning at Ford. "Ford, try calling how things are out there."

"Right away." Ford affirmed as he contacted by radio. "Hello? Anyone out there! What's going on out there?!" He tried his best to listen what a soldier from the surface said by radio covering one of his ears, although the com-link was not very good and fragmented. "Understood! Copy that!" He said before turning at Aang. "It seems the Mutos have the upper hand against him. They're beating him hard."

"What?! Oh no, this is bad." Aang said worried after hearing it. "He needs help."

"Aang, he will be fine. He'll handle those giant bug things somehow." Sokka reassured.

"Besides, it's too dangerous." Katara added serious. "Right now, we have to clear this up and take the bomb out of here. We're losing vital time."

Aang stood in front a difficult matter for him at the moment, not sure what to do. He knew that they were in a time trial situation, but he couldn't ignore that Godzilla was in trouble and needed help, now that the Mutos had overpowered him, and if they were not going to assist him, who would? He didn't know what to do. He even could hear Godzilla growling in pain from the distance, at least is what he seemed to hear, making him to turn at its direction and getting more worried. He closed his eyes and grabbed his head with his hands, tormented by the pressure of the stress of this personal debate of his. Next, after taking a few calmed breaths and freeing his head, he opened his eyes with a frowned look of determination on his face as he made up his mind. And so, the young airbender went way back to the surface using airbending to boost himself with some enhanced jumps, with nobody realizing he was leaving. After a few big jumps, Aang reached the entrance of the hole and searched for where the Mutos were until he spotted them many meters from there. This wasn't about doing his duty or staying safe anymore, but about helping a friend. Without wasting more time and in blink of an eye, the Avatar began channelizing all is inner energy before a familiar glow was emitted. As for the Mutos, the pair continued beating Godzilla without a rest, with intention of exhaust him and later finish him off, so their offspring could have a meal after being born. The male took some high by flying and prepared to give another strong hit on their enemy by falling over him, but suddenly…before he could do it, a giant rock covered in flames came flying from nowhere fast and collide with him directly and off guard, pushing him out of the way with force and falling hard to the ground. The female saw this and ran at where her mate fell to check if he was fine, what allowed Godzilla to have a break of all that. She made some worried like noises while she touched the head of her mate carefully before seeing that he still moved, but then, when another sound took her attention and turned around, another giant rock in flames stroke her from above, putting her at the ground too alongside the male covered in debris and dust. As Godzilla tried to get back on his feet, he saw what happened to his adversaries, which left him confused. What could have taken them down with such force? After all, he was the only other titan there. Then…something coming from above took his attention as he looked up to see Aang in the Avatar State levitating in the air, inside the very same elemental sphere that he created back when he faced Ozai staying in front of him, like if he was trying to protect him from the parasitic pair. That was something that he hadn't ever seen in his long life. He knew that there was a human with said abilities, power and role for quite some time, but seeing it with his own eyes was indeed impressive, besides of being the first time for him as well and especially with him being only a little child, and when it comes to Godzilla it's very hard to make him feel that way. The soldiers that took positions in the walls also got speechless of what were seeing.

Aang turned his head, looking at Godzilla. "Need some help?" He said with a smile on his face before turning at where the Mutos were, also stunned by the Avatar's revealing power. "If you mess with him, you mess with me, parasites!" He proclaimed at them loud and clear with a frowned look, like if he was challenging them to fight him, and he was.

The Mutos roared at him really angry before getting up, as they recognized the energy touch of him. How dared that little human do that to them? How dared him to put himself between them and his enemy and interrupt them when they had the upper hand? And how dared him to challenge them like that, knowing what they have done to the other humans that tried to face them? There was no way they were going to let themselves to be humiliated by such a pest. All this time both of they thought that he was not such a big deal, but now they finally saw him as a real threat too, one that they had to get rid. Aang lifted more from the ground until he stood more or least the same high as Godzilla while he got up and stood at his side. Next both Godzilla and Aang share a look to each other, with the boy nodding at his giant reptilian partner before looking back at their opponents. Now the odds had changed, more equal for the good side: 2 against 2.

(Titanic Clash, theme from KH3)

The Mutos roared together at their rival, something that Godzilla imitated while Aang yelled at them before he and Godzilla charged at them, the same as the parasites. Each of them went against one of the Mutos, with Godzilla focusing this time at male while Aang faced the female with hesitation. The male tried to strike Godzilla from above and fast again, but he dodged in the last time and grabbed him from the hind legs with his mouth and pushed him against the ground with force without releasing him. Next, he lifted him in the air and did it again, repeating the same move all over and over again before launching him at his right with force and crushing against the floor at the distance as Godzilla roared at him. As for Aang, he charged at the female while she intended to shallow him whole with her mouth, but that was mistake, because Aang took the chance to launch a big fire blast directly at her head, with some of the flames burning a little some parts of her mouth, especially the tongue. The blast caught her off guard and made her stumble and fall to the ground. Aang then hooked on her back and began to launch mixed blast of enhanced fire and air at her head one after another, what annoyed her a lot and forcing her on trying to shake him off her. At last, after a minute and half of receiving hot blasts from above she managed to shake him off with a quick move of crouching without warning, making Aang to fall back to the ground. Then she intended to crush him with her legs, but Aang became too fast for her to catch and next the Avatar used a quick move of airbending to send a great dust cloud that hit her directly at her head, especially her eyes, which left her temporally blind and allowed him to put some distance. Aang took the chance to lift a big number of rocks from the ground with earthbending and threw them all at her, hitting her fast and hard. The female had no time to dodge and she tried her best to cover from the continuous strike with her legs, but it didn't make so much. Next, Aang summoned some big rock pillars from the ground beneath the legs and body of the female, forcing her to retreat. She had no time to counterattack as the earth pillars kept coming from beneath her again and again, leaving no time for her to catch her breath as she tried her best to maintain her balance, and the last pillar that Aang lifted up was the biggest one, enough to push her back and fall backwards after losing her balance. Aang took flight again and while in the sky, he roared at her with a huge fire breath that covered her in flames, making her squirming in pain from the burning feeling. After this, Aang turned at where Godzilla was, seeing that he was rumbling with the male Muto hooked again on his back. At that, he flew as fast as he could coming to aid him. The male tried once again to attack Godzilla's gills, the only place which looked to be a weak point of his, but before he could strike a huge water stream sent by Aang engulfed his head, disorienting him and making him battle to shake it off looking for air. Next the stream changed into a whip that grabbed him by the neck and pulled him while another giant whip began hitting him in the back while Godzilla crouched fast to the ground, knowing what Aang was trying to do. At the end, the male lost grip and fell to the ground as the water whip retreated. Next the male tried to fly away again. It looked like he was gonna make it, but suddenly he was hit at his side by a lightning and shot down like a crash landing. The reason? Aang, who used one of the lightnings from the storm that was nearby by catching it and redirecting it toward the Muto. Meanwhile the female got on her feet again and tried to charge against Godzilla again and tackle him by surprise, but he saw her coming in time and used his tail to hit her legs and make her stumble again. At the same time, back with the rest of Team Avatar and the extraction team, they've almost finished with taking down the debris blockade.

"That's it, everyone! We're almost finished!" Sokka encouraged. "Keep going!"

"Ugh, this one is really tough." Suki said, as she, Katara and others had trouble with the part they were dealing with. "We're gonna need a lot of help with this part."

"Aang, we could need some help right here!" Katara called, but there was no answer. "Aang?" She called again, but when she turning at her back, she saw that he was nowhere to be seen. "Where's Aang?"

"I don't know. I also thought he was here with you." Zuko responded, not able to see him anywhere. "Where could he go? Has anyone of you seen him?" He asked the soldiers.

"No, Your Highness. We all thought he was here as well." The captain answered.

"Maybe he went out?" Ford proposed.

"Sir, we've received some fragmented message from some of our troops from outside." The sergeant reported. "And you're not gonna believe what it seems to mean. It says they had seen the Avatar fighting the Mutos, with Godzilla side-by-side."

"WHAT?!" All Team Avatar members exclaimed in disbelief.

"Well, now that you say it, I swear I've seen Twinkle Toes standing up there against them with the big guy lately." Toph confessed. "I have to say…they seem to make a good team. I'm kind of jealous."

"And you say that right now?!" Sokka yelled mad. "Why didn't you tell us before?!"

"Like I said, it's not like its easy to see things up there from deep down here, so I wasn't sure if was really Aang or not." Toph defended.

"But why would Aang do such thing?" Ty Lee asked confused.

"We don't have time for wondering that or arguing between ourselves." Zuko said next. "We'll ask him later when he comes back. Right now, we have to end clearing up this first."

Everyone nodded at the young Fire Lord's words and reassumed work. Back with Aang and Godzilla, their team up was going pretty good in countering the Mutos, making them more than just sweating. Aang was flying very fast all around the streets in direction toward the female Muto as he prepared creating another big rock from all the debris, stone and dust that was collecting among the way with earthbending. When it was big enough and close enough, Aang launched it like a giant bowling ball, impacting directly with the female and allowing him to climb up her again. She tried to shake him off again, but he had tight grip on her this time, what made her madder…and defenseless against Godzilla's strike, who grabbed her by the neck and pushed her back and against another wall while Aang hopped on him, on his head. The little Avatar saw the male Muto coming at them from the sky, so he took flight too and fired a huge fire ball at him, taking him by surprise and shooting him down again. Then Aang summoned giant tentacles of water from the lake that captured the male and dragged him inside the water. The male tried to avoid this by hooking himself at the ground with his legs, but it only delayed the inevitable, so it was futile, all while Godzilla kept brawling with his mate, using his great force to overpower her. The male got out of the water in panic and tried to run back to main land as fast as he could while he received more big fire blast from Aang. As for Godzilla, next grabbed the female by some of her legs with his hands and jaws and used some sort of wrestling move with her by lifting her from the ground and smashing her on the ground and over her mate, who got there too. While the couple tried to get up, Aang kept focusing on the male, summoning a huge rock pillar to push him backwards and smashing him against a part of another of the walls. And for the final blow, Aang used his earthbending to crack the upper part of the wall and bring it down all over the male, burying him completely, launching one last roar before being disappearing under the destroyed wall. With one of the Mutos down, Aang knew that Godzilla could handle the remaining one all by his own, so he decided to return to the Mutos' nest and help his friends with the bomb by flying, without realizing the suspicious movement of the debris that got increasing little by little. After reaching the nest entrance, Aang got out the Avatar State and used his airbending to arrive to the hatchery chamber as fast as he could. Later, appearing by surprise for everyone, he performed a good demonstration of earthbending by taking down the remains of the blockade, leaving everyone without words.

(End of Titanic Clash theme)

"Sorry for leaving without telling you." Aang apologized to everyone with a hand behind his head and lowering his head. "It's just…there was something that I'd to do."

"Yeah, sure. Well, you shouldn't have done that." Sokka recalled a little mad with his arms crossed. "But…just like you do sometimes, you came just at the right time and took down the entire blockade. So, we forgive you." He said changed into a good mood and smiling.

"Wow Aang, you've improved on your earthbending a lot." Toph expressed, impressed by how he managed to take down the rest of the blockade. "Have you been working out a lot in just a few minutes?"

Aang chuckled at this. "Well, something like that. But I can assure you that things are much better up there. It shouldn't be a problem for Godzilla to handle the remaining Muto."

"Wait, the remaining one?" Katara asked confused. "It thought there were two. The male and the female."

"Not anymore."

"Great. So why don't we just get that thing down and leave this awful place?" Mai reminded.

"Of course. Let's get that bomb." Zuko agreed. "Troops, you know what to do."

The soldiers nodded and went ahead to get the warhead that was attached to the eggs mass. Once they were close enough, they tried to grab the artifact very careful.

"Right, clear out. Here we go." The captain instructed.

"Whoa, look out, heads up!" The sergeant warned as the cover of the control panel of the warhead opened up suddenly. Next, he came closer to have a better look at the countdown indicator and illuminated it with his flashlight.

"How much time we got left?" Zuko asked, worried as his friends, who were crossing their fingers.

"We have 27 mikes."

"27 minutes?!" Katara asked alarmed. "Oh no, that's not good."

"We gotta get this thing down." The captain instructed.

"I'll do it." Aang volunteered himself. Using his airbending, he managed to separated the warhead from the rest of the nest slowly and careful, ready to give it to the soldiers, who had a hard time holding it as the device weighed a lot.

"Careful! Careful." The captain advised. "And down in three, two, one." He said as the they put the bomb in the ground perfectly.

"Let's get this cover off." The sergeant said as he and others prepared to open up the cover of the control panel.

"Lieutenant, you're up."

Ford and the others tried their best to open up the cover of the system of the device, but it didn't give in. "It's not budging. It's sealed shut. We need time to open it."

"Maybe I could give it a try." Toph offered.

"No, it's not a good idea." The captain said. "No offense, Miss Beifong, but this is a very delicate and risky device. It's not something that can be opened carefully with earthbending."

"And we don't have time! We gotta get it on a boat." The sergeant reminded nervous.

"I've a better idea." Sokka pronounced, getting everyone's attention. "Once we reach the lake's harbor, we'll bring it with us on Appa. He's the fastest flyer creature that I know. We carry it with us and fly as far as we can into the ocean out of everyone's reach and let it explode there in the depths. I know it doesn't sound like the best plan to do, but…"

"Sokka, its perfect! You're genius!" Katara supported her brother's idea.

"Then it's settled. We cannot waste more time. Time to get out of here." Zuko declared.

"Yes, Your Highness. Grab the warhead! Let's move! Go! Easy. Easy, easy." The captain commanded as all the soldiers grabbed the bomb and began carrying it out of the nest, except Ford, who was talking with Aang.

"We need you to stay here and start looking for both any scattered soldiers and survivors. Maybe you can find your wife along the way." Aang said to the lieutenant.

"Thank, Avatar Aang." Ford thanked him and saluted him by bowing, which Aang repeated before catching up with his team and helping them to make way. "Move it out, guys!"

As Aang was going with his friends as the last ones leaving the nest, he stopped and turned at the eggs, seeing no change on them.

"Hey, guys! Wait, wait!" Aang called out his friends, making them to stopped and turn at him.

"Aang, come on! We're leaving!" Sokka called.

"What about the nest? We cannot leave it like this. We have to do something."

"At this moment we have to take the warhead out of the city to keep it safe." Zuko reminded. "We'll come back later to deal with the nest."

"What if it's too late by then? We cannot allow a single of these future Mutos to escape from here."

"Aang, listen to me." Katara said, this time really serious. "The Mutos will not leave this place while we are not here, trust me. We'll take of the eggs later, once the bomb issue is over. Now let's go. We cannot waste more time."

The words of his girlfriend seemed to be enough to convince him as he followed her and the others out of the nest, but then…Aang stopped when he swore of hearing Godzilla growling in pain again coming from outside alongside another familiar roar besides the one of the female.

"Oh no." Aang said worried, realizing that the male was not defeated yet. "There must be some other way to drag them far from him." And suddenly…he turned his sight back at the eggs while remembering what Katara said about animal parents being very protective. If something happened to the nest, the Mutos would come to check and leave Godzilla alone for a while, enough time for him to recover. Besides, if said 'incident' or better said 'accident' could damage or destroy the eggs, all efforts of the Muto parents would have been in vain, and the world would be not so threatened. "The eggs. That's it. But…how I'm going to do it? Besides of the power of the Avatar State, that can take down an entire army, there's nothing else that…"

Then, something took the little boy's attention, something that nobody else noticed. Over at his right he saw something that survived the digging of the female: a great deposit of incendiary liquids, including flaming oil and blasting jelly. Aang smirked, knowing what that meant.

"That's exactly what I need." Aang confirmed as he went to break the containers with his glider, leaving the combusting substances leaking free.

Once that was done, he took one last look at his surroundings to check that were enough small flames nearby for ignite the required boom and began taking his leave. Aang left the place as fast as he could, ensured that the incoming explosion would give Godzilla the chance to prepare himself for the next round, and not only that. Very soon, the Mutos would see their hopes of multiply and spreading been consumed in flames.
