Tucker: Now I've missed my 4:05 feeding! If I don't make it...tell my PDA, I love her. The cell phone meant nothing to me.
Infinite Realms, Season 3 Episode 2
Chapter 4
"Woah!" Danny exclaimed. He had found Klemper, but he had also found someone else using ice powers against him, and not doing too bad. Unfortunately for the stranger, Klemper seemed to think they were in the middle of a snowball fight. The ghost in pajamas was laughing hysterically and the poor other boy seemed like he was in a serious battle.
"Zuko, where are you!?" the other boy yelled. When Klemper wasn't throwing more snow mounds, the boy was trying to move snow hills, obviously looking for something. If only he could keep this weird flying waterbender off his back, he could find Zuko and get out of here. At least in the Spirit World they didn't get attacked.
"Danny, it sounds like he needs help," Sam said, worriedly. From inside the cockpit she tried to squint her eyes and get a better look at the new ghost in distress.
Danny clenched his fist. "You're right, Sam!" he said. "Stay here. I'll try to grab him and put him in the Specter Speeder for his own safety." His legs morphed into a ghostly tail and he flew over to the kid. Danny thought it was odd the boy wasn't glowing, like most ghosts did. Danny also noticed he was bald and he had tattoos down his head and arms. Well, it probably wasn't the strangest thing he had seen in the Ghost Zone, but it was definitely something new. Even most ghosts had hair.
Danny threw an ice ray at Klemper, the blue beam freezing him in place. The pajama ghost fell to the ground, completely encased in ghostly ice, looking shocked at his game ending so quick. The young boy whipped his body around and screamed in surprise. He held his palms out away from him and rose them upwards. Instead of an ecto-ray firing from his hands, an ice wall formed between him and Danny. It was so fast he didn't even see a ray come from his hands. The ghost boy was a little taken aback by this. Usually the ghosts were more appreciative of him helping to get them away from Klemper.
"A 'thank you' would be appreciated!" Tucker remarked. Danny smirked and easily phased himself through the ice wall. The boy yelped in surprised again, seemingly alarmed that Danny was able to move through the ice. He raised his palms towards Danny, fingers curled inwards, and twisted his wrists. Suddenly, the ghost boy was blasted into the ice wall by a strong blast of wind. It was like a horizontal tornado was thrown into his chest. He was thrown off guard and forgot to phase himself through the ice.
As he slumped to the ground, Danny rubbed his chest, right where his logo sat, and remarked, "I think I got the wind knocked out of me…or should I say, 'into me.'"
From inside the Speeder, Sam slapped her forehead with her hand and groaned.
Danny stood up slowly and provided one hand out to the kid as a peace offering. "Look, kid," he groaned, "I want out of here as much as you do. So let's just get going before Klemper thaws." The icy pajama ghost blinked a couple times, oblivious to the conversation happening.
"I'm not going anywhere without my friend!" the boy yelled back, taking a fighting stance.
About 20 feet to their right, two fire flames burst from the snow. A teenager about Danny's age flung himself out of the snow mound. He had black hair, red robes, and a large scar over one side of his face starting at his eye.
Danny covered his face as the young boy ran towards the fire starter. "Zuko!" he yelled, happily.
"Hey, wait, kid!" Danny said, following the two. He paused when the boy took a fighting stance again, protecting the older one who was still trying to free himself from the snow. "Seriously, can we all just chill," Danny said, emphasizing the pun. He secretly hoped the bad joke would ease the tension. Thankfully he was correct when the bald one did a small giggle. The dark haired boy just shook his head as he brushed the rest of the snow off his clothes. A lot of it appeared to be melting off him as well.
The bald boy relaxed his stance. The fire blast kid walked up to the bald one. "I think if he's the one who rescued us, we can trust him," he said.
"Finally!" Danny said and he thrust his arms upwards and started flying towards the Specter Speeder. "Let's get moving then!" he said not even looking back. All ghosts can fly in the Ghost Zone, so he assumed the two were following close behind.
Zuko put a hand on Aang's shoulder. "But we should still stay cautious. Are you getting any strange Avatar feelings from him?"
Aang smiled at his friend, "You're starting to sound like Sokka, but no, it doesn't work like that. He seems cool though!" He looked up noticing the new kid, flying further away. "Um, how do you think we should get up there?"
Zuko seemed to immediately realize their help was getting pretty far away now. "Hey!" he yelled to the kid in the black suit. He started waving one of his hands in the air, like a spotlight. "Little help here!"
Danny stopped and looked back, confused. Why weren't they following? "Are you stuck or something?"
The little one shrugged. "We can't fly," he replied back.
Danny flew back to the other two, planting his feet on the ground. Klemper was definitely thawing and fast. He needed to get these two out of here. "Um," he paused, trying to make a decision. He placed his hands around the waists of the other two, one arm around each stranger. He could tell they both were surprisingly strong. "Hold on!" he said and pulled the other two into the air. The dark haired one yelled. The younger one seemed to be enjoying himself, as if he had flown before. Well, they both should have flown before if they were ghosts.
He phased them through the side of the Speeder and set them down. "Punch it!" he yelled to the cockpit. The three boys in back fell into the seats as the silver vehicle flew through the closest door and into the open green atmosphere.
Once they were safely past Klemper's lair, they parked the Speeder and Sam and Tucker unbuckled themselves and walked towards the back of the Speeder to check on the other three. "Is everyone okay back here?" Sam asked. Danny was rubbing his head where it bonked against the side of the Speeder. He nodded and quickly assessed the other two. They seemed relatively okay. Danny stood up slowly, turned around, and faced the other two. Sam and Tucker behind him started removing their coats and putting them back in the storage now that they were out of the cold.
"Is there anywhere we can drop you off?" Danny asked. "Now that we've mapped Klemper's lair, I think we want to make the next movie showing of Dead Teacher." The bald boy and dark hair teen looked at each other in confusion. Even though they were speaking the same language, they only understood about half the words.
"I think we just want to go home," the bald one answered.
"Where is home?" the dark-skinned teen asked. He was typing on his phone, trying to locate if their home was one the trio had already mapped. "Describe it."
The bald boy rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, he fell into the snow area from a door we found in the Spirit World. But our bodies should still be in the real world, theoretically."
The dark-skinned boy paused his typing and looked up. The other two both kept staring dumbfounded. That was not the response they expected. The girl look at the boy in black. "Danny," she said, slowly, "I don't think they're from HERE." All three kept staring at the two strangers.
The boy in black deep sighed and squeezed the bridge of his nose. "So awkward question," he started. His eyes started squinting and he did a small point to the two. "Are you ghosts? Like did you die?" His voice trailed at the end, awaiting an answer.
The two sitting looked a little disturbed. "No!" they said in unison. The older one spoke first, "We are very much alive!"
The girl threw her hands in the air in desperation. "Well this creates a whole new set of problems!" The dark-skinned boy started typing again, potentially to avoid the awkwardness of the situation now. They knew how to deal with ghosts. But real world people lost in the Ghost Zone was a new set of problems entirely.
Danny started trying to rein in his friends. This situation needed a calm hand and quick. He threw his hands casually around trying to physically wave away some of the tension. "Let's start over and then we will figure out how to solve this." His back straightened, he put a friendly smile on his face, and put his hand out to shake the others hands. "My name is Danny Phantom. I'm the unofficial protector of the Ghost Zone." He paused waiting for his friends. When they didn't immediately reply, he threw a quick and small elbow into the other boy's side.
"Ow!" he said, a little dramatically. "Why does everyone keep elbowing me?!" He shot a quick look at Danny with an eye roll. "Fine. My name is Tucker. I'm Danny's best friend."
The girl put a hand on her hip and stared down the other two. "I'm Sam." She left it at that.
The boy with the tattoos finally stood up. He took a small bow, catching Danny by surprised. "My name is Aang. I am the Avatar and the last Airbender of the Air Nomads."
Despite the odd looks from the trio, the other continued. "I am Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation, heir to the Fire Lord." He did a bow as well, but added in a small hand motion: both hands together, but one in a fist and one open palmed.
Danny's hand retreated. "Well, I don't know what either of those names and titles mean, but we will help you out either way."
