The Message From Guinevere
After history class let out, Anne went to put her history book back into her locker and retrieve her political science book in time for her next class for the morning.
When she noticed her ruby sneakers glowing from inside her gym bag.
"Anne! It's Guinevere, you are needed here in Oz once again!" Guinevere exclaimed through the glow of the sneakers.
Anne took the ruby sneakers out of her gym bag.
"What's so important, Guinevere?" Anne asked.
"Queen Rosma has been kidnapped by the evil King of the Goblins!" Guinevere exclaimed.
"I guess I will have a new enemy to do battle with, huh?" Anne asked Guinevere.
"I'm afraid so, but don't worry, you will have the lion, the scarecrow, and the tin man by your side... along with Chu Chu of course." Guinevere said to Anne.
"How is that possible? I'm sure they are all busy." Anne protested.
"Have you forgotten? I have the power to make your brothers, Stanley, Alan, and Flip dream just long enough to assume the roles of King Scarecrow of the Emerald City, Lion of the Southern Forest, and Tin Man of Northern Wood... just as you have the power of the ruby sneakers to transport yourself to Oz." Guinevere explained.
"Just a minute! If you are the Oz version of my big sister, Suzie," Anne theorized. "then, shouldn't she be dreaming too?"
"No need, I can merely merge my soul with your sister's and we can combine and become one, I would do the same with your brothers, but, alas, I can only merge one set of souls at a time." Guinevere answered Anne.
Anne was now shocked.
"I see, so that was why the Wicked Witch of the West as well as the Emerald City guard, the scarecrow, tin man, lion, the Munchkins of the Lullaby League, and the Wizard of Oz himself looked familiar to me! They were Miss Avondale and my siblings!" Anne gasped.
"Precisely, you are Oz's last hope, Anne, all of Oz is counting on you." Guinevere said.
The ruby sneakers stopped glowing as Anne returned them to her gym bag.
James raced up to Anne.
"Get the lead out of your legs, Sheila!" James exclaimed.
Anne checked her wristwatch.
"Wham, bam, James, we've got to jam! We'll be late for our next class if we don't hurry!" Anne exclaimed, knowing they were in a real hurry.
