Up in the skies above Alola
"Ark, please, wait for the others." Lusamine plead.
"Mother, this is Lillie and Cass, they've been taken, I can't wait around for them." Ark said as he flew with Garchomp to Ula Ula Island.
"Ark, I understand, but if they want Nebby, you can't go in alone on this." Lusamine said. "You don't even know how to contact him."
"Mother, they were using Ultra Beasts, Xurkitree and Blacephalon, the others need to stay here in case they come back." Ark argued. "I'm grabbing Gladion and then we'll find Nebby. You stay locked in the Aether Foundation until we get back, they listed Gladion and I by name, no one else, so hopefully you will be safe."
"Ark!" Lusamine said, as Rotomdex flew out of his chest piece, halting Garchomp mid flight.
"Mother, you can't stop me on this!" Ark argued.
"Just, be careful." Lusamine said with a smile.
"Ult Roger." Ark said with a salute before Rotomdex returned to his chest piece. "Rotom, I need you to block any more incoming calls for the time being, we're nearing Ula Ula."
"Okay Ark." Rotomdex said, not agreeing with decision but going along with it.
Meanwhile at the Lake of the Sunne
"Silvally use Crush Claw! Umbreon use Shadow Ball!" Gladion called out as a Pheremosa and Celesteela attacked him.
"Summon the Sun, that's all that we're here for." The girl said, before saying some jibber is that sent Celesteela rocketing at Silvally.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ark called out as Garchomp came in for a landing.
"Ark, I never thought I'd be so glad to see you a second time." Gladion said. "What are these things?"
"Ultra Beasts, we call them Celesteela and Pheremosa." Ark said, sending out Toucannon. "Toucannon use Beak Blast!"
"Any advice?" Gladion asked.
"Celesteela is really weak to electric attacks, and Rotom says that Pheremosa is similar to our worlds fighting and bug types." Ark said.
"Electric and flying, I can do that." Gladion said. "Silvally take on the power of a raging storm and become an electric type with Multi Attack!"
"Pikachu use Giga Volt Havoc!"
Pikachu and Silvally unleashed a devastatingly powerful combined electrical blast that surged throughout all of Celesteela before it fell down into the water below, completely drained of energy. The Z Move cracking Ark's Electrium Z even more as sparks shot up his arm from the feedback. But there was no time to deal with that now
"Crobat use Air Slash!"
"Toucannon use Beak Blast!"
Gladion sent out Crobat as the two flying types countered Pheremosa from either side keeping the fighting type from attacking or moving without gettting hit by beak or wing more than necessary.
"Retreat, they are together and will bring what we want for the girl." The figure barked at the two remaining grunts dressed in white.
"But sir, they don't have." The girl argued.
"They will bring them, but not if you stay there, gather you creatures and retreat!" The figure barked.
"Yes sir." The girl said as portals opened up taking the two people and Ultra beasts with them.
"Wait!" Ark shouted, reaching for a portal only for it to close just as his fingers grazed it.
"Okay, want to tell me what's going on, and what's with your outfit." Gladion said, taking in Ark's Ultra Guardian outfit.
"Those people they knew where we were." Ark said, "They came for us."
"Who is us?" Gladion asked. "Last I checked I'm not part of your spandex clad team."
"No, but you are a part of this family." Ark said, stopping Gladion from leaving. "They took our sisters."
"Sisters?" Gladion questioned.
"Lillie, and Cass my sister from Kanto, they attacked the mansion and kidnapped both of them." Ark revealed. "If we want them back we need to go to Ultra Megalopolis."
"An Ultra Dimension, do you have any idea how risky that is?!" Gladion exclaimed.
"I know, but this isn't about me or you." Ark said. "They attacked our family, now you can come with me or you can stay here the choice is yours."
"I chose both, I've been researching these ruins, and I think they work similarly to the ones we found on Poni Island." Gladion said, looking around. "I just can't seem to figure out how to activate them."
"What about this?" Ark asked, pulling out the Lunalium Z.
"Without a Lunala? Do you think that works without them?" Gladion asked, flicking Ark's forehead.
"I don't see you coming up with a better idea!" Ark exclaimed, shoving Gladion back.
"Oh big guy in his armor, oh wait you look like a bad crayon!" Gladion said, shoving Ark hard enough to push him to the ground.
"GASP!"
Ark looked around, this definitely was not his normal astral projection, and this was not where he was moments prior, for one thing, his body wasn't there, and another, rather than late afternoon, it was the middle of the night.
"Okay Gladion wouldn't have moved me without trying to wake me, and normally this is an instant change, so I just need to figure out where to go and is that Saturn?" Ark paused looking up to see a planet surrounded by rings clear as day in the sky. "Okay, so definitely not on earth, or at the very least my earth.
"KWAAA!" A roar echoed.
"Oh no!" Ark exclaimed, seeing something fly right at him, bracing for the impact.
'Scritch scritch'
Ark opened his eyes hesitantly to see a familiar face looking down at him.
"Nebby!" Ark exclaimed, going to hug them, only to phase right through. "Wait, you can see me?"
Nebby nodded with a smile.
"Look, I need your help, some people took Lillie and they were asking for the Sun and the Moon. We need to get to Ultra Megalopolis but first I need to get back to my body wherever that is." Ark said. "Do you understand what I'm asking?"
Nebby nodded before taking a step back and screaming at Ark's astral projection.
Back on Earth
"Come on! Wake up already, I didn't hit you that hard!" Gladion exclaimed, shaking Ark's unconscious body. "I don't know what to do, I need your help!"
"GASP!" Ark gasped as he came too. "Stop shaking me." Ark managed to blurt out.
"Ark! Don't scare me like that! I thought you were dead!" Gladion exclaimed.
"I might've been, not entirely sure on how astral projection really works yet, but I found help." Ark said.
"Astral what now?" Gladion asked, as a roar echoed through the sky as a wormhole opened up with Nebby flying through soaring around the altar before coming in for a landing.
"Glad you made it Nebby, now we just need the Sun, whatever that means and we can get Lillie." Ark said.
Nebby gave out a roar as his forehead began to glow, an orange object making its way to the front before dropping into Gladion's hands.
"Is that?" Ark asked, pulling out his Lunalium Z.
"The Moon and the Sun." Gladion realized. "Lunala and Solgaleo!"
"But you don't have a powered up Z Ring." Ark realized.
Nebby's forehead began glowing again as two beams shot out, one hitting Ark's Z Ring, and the other connecting to Gladion's Z Ring as it transformed into a Z Power ring.
"Well apparently that was an option all along." Ark said in disbelief.
"Ready to do this?" Gladion asked.
"Hold on, you might want one of these." Ark said, handing Gladion a pod of sorts. "Thank Mother later, she doesn't know I took it."
Gladion pressed the pod against his chest as a black suit wrapped itself around him, with a golden chest piece similar to that of Ark's.
"Alright, Solgaleo, I need your help! I have your Z Crystal so come to me!" Gladion called out, raising his Z Power Ring with the Z Crystal in it, high into the air.
