Well, we're back! I guess the new season of Total Drama which leaked (It's out there if you look) inspired me to continue! Motivation is definitely something I struggle with, but being reunited with the show that inspired this fic and honestly a lot of my early childhood definitely made me want to continue this story. We're getting closer and closer, and I hope that enjoy the next offering in the story! As always I hope you enjoy the chapter and let me know what you think with a little review!
(An Undisclosed Location)
"I am telling you! I have everything in place now, I'm just waiting for the perfect moment to pull it off. Can you just get off my back for five minutes?" An exasperated voice, one without a body was talking. By the way that we can't hear the response, one can assume that it was talking on the phone.
"Trust me on this, it won't be much longer now, just have some patience." The voice hung up its phone and sighed in frustration.
(The Cheap Hotel)
We return now to Chris and Don, who have yet to leave the cheap hotel and are starting to get rather bored with their situation.
"Seriously Chris if you don't stop snoring I'm going to smother you in your sleep." Don complained, his eyes were looking rather heavy from a lack of sleep.
"You can talk!" Chris threw back, "You keep using all of the hot water in the morning and I have to take cold showers!"
"I wouldn't have to take such long showers if being around you didn't make me feel so dirty."
"You ladies done arguing?" A third voice came into the fray, it was the voice of Priya, the lawyer that Chris and Don had hired to take Marnie and Total Drama to court.
"Um… yes." Chris said sheepishly, turning to face Priya and regaining his composure. "So what's the deal?"
"The deal is that we need more." Priya sighed, "I mean, the contestants all signed the contracts which specifically stipulate that production is not responsible for bodily injuries that occur during filming. It's barbaric but it's legally binding."
"Dammit." Don swore, putting his head into his hands.
"The good news is that you won't be arrested for being complicit to the mistreatment of the contestants." Priya shrugged, "But unless you have any more information you want to share, there's nothing else I can do. The court would throw us out in minutes."
"We'll let you know if we find anything else." Chris sighed, "Thank you Priya for the help."
"Yeah yeah." The woman rolled her eyes before leaving the room and the two ex-hosts on their own.
"Well… guess we're done for." Don started,
"Yeah…" Chris agreed, sitting on his bed with a huff.
(The Top of the Mountain)
Marnie stood on top of the mountain with which we are all so familiar at this point, her host persona in full swing as she grinned to the camera.
"Welcome back everyone! I must bring you all the sad news that Chris and Don have had to pull out of hosting the show, I hope you all share our thoughts here at Total Drama that we wish them the best in their future and that they will be sorely missed." Marnie put on a frown and hung her head in respect before quickly snapping it back up to the camera with her usual grin.
"But of course, we do still have a show to film! And a teenager to award one million dollars to! Last time, we had our contestants compete in a treetop obstacle course and puzzle building competition! It was full of drama with Yves and Amelia, two now established rivals being neck and neck up until the final moments of the challenge, when Iris came in and snatched victory from them both! It was TV gold!"
"And the drama didn't stop there! The vote was just as exciting with Yves and Amelia coming at each other full force trying to vote one another off, but with quick thinking from Boris, he was able to save Amelia from being sent home and instead steered the vote onto Alyssa, one of her closest allies, hoping that Amelia would be more inclined to stick to him. Strategic masterclass!"
"We've officially lost half of our contestants with seven being left, and you can feel now that everyone left wants to win! But who's going to come out on top?"
"Who will come out on top between Yves and Amelia?"
"Will Boris be able to get anyone to actually like him?"
"And will Aleena get enough footage to make a decent documentary? Find all of this out and more tonight, on Total!"
"Drama!"
"Audacious Alpines!"
(Theme Song)
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine.
The title sequence begins with Nick looking at himself in the mirror in the confessional, he is fixing his hair before the door opens, scaring him and causing him to jump and fall onto the toilet. In walks Ashe who looks horrified and quickly runs out with his head in his hands.
You guys are on my mind.
Luciana is in the living room, enjoying a quiet read by the fire when Alyssa comes running down the stairs with two snowboards that she found. She throws one to Luciana who catches it with a grin as the two run out of the cabin.
You asked me what I wanted to be.
We now see the two girls skateboarding down the mountain, wearing the appropriate safety gear of course, they board past Boris who has somehow managed to get himself stuck in a tree, he calls for help as they ignore him.
And now I think the answer is plain to see.
Kahlin and Yvette are enjoying dinner together, they are both chatting incessantly but it appears that neither is actually listening to the other, they're both in their own worlds. The camera pans to show Amelia rolling her eyes and looking exasperated at the both of them.
I wanna be famous
Chef is in the kitchen cooking up dinner for the campmates, Yves is behind him, watching what he does carefully, Chef wipes some sweat off his brow and continues cooking as he does.
I want to live close to the sun
Damien is trying to have a nap in his bed when Adrian bursts in and starts singing to himself, Damien takes the pillow and places it over his head, trying to drown out Adrian's noise.
So pack your bags cause I've already won
Aleena is filming something in the distance, she is taking it very seriously, a furrow in her brow when Miles appears in front of her camera. This causes her to jump and throw her camera behind her, she growls at Miles and pounces on him, throwing them both down the mountain.
Everything to prove nothing in my way-
As the two of them fight and roll down to the bottom of the mountain, they land in a heap in the end and are soon joined by Alyssa and Luciana who cheer as they reach the bottom of the mountain.
I'll get there one day-
Iris is sitting by an open fire, rubbing her hands together and warming them slightly. She is soon joined by all the other members who gather around the fire to keep warm. They're all wearing their jackets and start whistling together, showing more camaraderie than before.
Nananana Nananana
Chris and Don arrive with a tray of cocoa, all in their own little takeaway cups. They begin handing them out to the contestants.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
Marnie can be seen behind a camera glaring at Chris and Don, writing something down in her notebook.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
All of the campers, plus Chris and Don smile happily as Marnie snaps her pencil in annoyance nearby, watching the scene with disgust.
(End Theme Song)
(Confessional)
YVES: So I switched the vote onto Alyssa last minute… It hurt a lot to see someone I liked go, but I knew that she was closer to Amelia than me, and of course she did manage to win immunity so that automatically makes her more of a threat. I'm honestly just glad that I was able to get to everyone in time and they all switched. Now I just have to hope that going forward it's easier.
(The Kitchen)
Yves was making herself a drink, watching as the water slowly came to a boil to put in her tea. Kahlin was standing behind her, leaning casually on the counter. Neither had said a word to each other yet, but the silence was comfortable.
"Do you think we made a mistake?" Yves asked suddenly, piercing the silence like a needle.
"What do you mean?" Kahlin asked for clarification, neither had turned to look at the other, talking as if they were in entirely separate rooms.
"Well, do you think that voting out Alyssa was a mistake? Was there a better move to make?"
"Does it matter? The move was made with the information available to you and to us at the time, and you can't change what happened no matter how hard you dwell. So why bother worrying about whether it was a mistake?" Kahlin's words seemed to have stunned Yves momentarily, her brow furrowed in concentration as she tried to process what he had said.
"I suppose that makes sense." Yves nodded. "I guess, I just always feel like everything I do needs to be perfect, to have a reason, a motivation and evidence to back it up." She looks down at the ground as Kahlin places a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"As nice as it would be to make decisions like that, we both know that life never lets you do something that simple." She nods at his words, sighing as she looks at him.
"I know you're right Kahlin, I really do. I guess it's just not that easy to rewire how you think."
"No, it's not Yves, if that's what you want to do, it'll take time, perseverance and a whole lot of effort." She winces at his words, "Of course that doesn't mean it's impossible, it's just not as simple as flicking a switch."
"Nail on the head…" The dancer sighs again, "I guess I've got some thinking to do."
"That you do." Kahlin nodded as he walked out of the kitchen.
(Confessional)
KAHLIN: I never really thought I'd be someone who gives out all of this advice, but I kind of like it! It feels like people really care about what I have to say. Helping people make better decisions helps everyone!
(The Girls' Bedroom)
After Alyssa's elimination, the last two members of the Triple A girls, Aleena and Amelia are sat on the latter's bed.
"Well… I think we're in the minority." Aleena grimaced, looking at her only ally left in the game.
"Sure seems like it." The actress agreed, rubbing her forehead slightly as her brows furrowed. "I guess… Iris must have voted with them."
"Yeah… I guess Boris probably voted for someone random. I can't imagine he's keyed into the votes."
"No… Probably not." Amelia agreed quietly, her brow furrowing even deeper.
"What's the plan then?" Aleena asked, "Kahlin and Ashe are obviously extremely close, so I imagine if we can convince one of them, the other will probably follow suit."
"Smart." Amelia agreed, still not lifting her head up from her own hands. "Ashe is probably the more susceptible of the two, don't you think?"
"Yeah probably." Aleena nodded, "Although… if the numbers are right, they did vote with Yves last round, so we'll have to be really convincing."
"You're right." Amelia nodded, her head finally lifting up to meet Aleena's gaze, "Thankfully, I think we can both be pretty good at that don't you think?"
"Well, I can definitely try." Aleena laughed, "My success in convincing people isn't really all that high, but if it's for the game."
"Just don't overthink it, it's really quite easy." Amelia laughed, "I've been doing it for years so you can trust me."
"I trust you Amelia." Aleena smiled, "We'll get through this."
"Of course we will."
Confessional
ALEENA: It's definitely starting to feel like the game is heating up and it's… actually a lot more stressful than I thought it would be! At least Amelia has my back and the two of us are going to try our hardest to get to the end! At least, that's what I'm going to do! Hopefully she agrees.
AMELIA: Aleena brought up a very good point about the vote. The worst case scenario should have been that we tied. The three of us and Boris, voting against the others. But it didn't tie, so either Boris literally did vote randomly… or he voted against me. And if he voted against me, I am going to end his life.
(The Living Room)
Ashe and Iris are sat on the sofa together, the two of them were each sipping a nice cup of tea, which seems to be a common activity here on this show.
"Halfway through." Ashe remarked with a laugh, "Did you think you'd make it this far?"
"Um no not really." Iris giggled, "I really thought people would think I'm useless or something and vote me off first."
"No but literally same." Ashe cackled, a grin stretching out across his face. "I was fully prepared to go home first and to be here in the top half is actually insane!"
"And we're going to go even further!" Iris asserted, "No point coming this far to go home now."
"Of course!" Ashe agreed, "I started this journey really unsure of where I was going, but I think I've at the very least decided that I want to try and win."
"You can try!" Iris laughed, "Of course you're going to have to beat me first."
"I'm sure I can find a way." The boy smirked, "Of course we're basically guaranteed final four now with the alliance and all."
"That's true." She nods in agreement, "Me, you, Yves and Kahlin. Who would have thought it."
"Well, I always thought Yves and Kahlin would make it far." Ashe admitted.
"Omg I totally thought the same thing!" Iris nodded in agreement with another chuckle, "The minute I saw Yves, I was just like… that girl is going to the end."
"Crazy how some people just have that energy." Ashe pondered.
"I wonder what it is." Iris continued on, "Maybe it's the way they dress, or the way they walk."
"Yeah something like that…" Ashe trailed off as he continued to think, Iris joining in as they discussed their ideas on the matter.
(Confessional)
IRIS: I think Ashe and I are similar in a lot of ways, we're both quietly determined to do our own thing, and I think that's a very powerful skill to have. I often find that the people who shout the most are usually the most insecure in themselves, like Boris for example. Oh that sounds mean! Forget I said that!
ASHE: You know I think it is worth noting just how far I've come, Kahlin has really helped me to come out of my shell lately. This morning I chose what cereal to have for breakfast! And it only took me three minutes! That's a totally new record! I'm starting to think I just might be able to win this you know! Me! Ashe!
(The Boys' Bedroom)
A knock came at the boy's bedroom door where Boris was sitting, the boy turned to the door and raised his eyebrow, one of the other residents of the room wouldn't have bothered to know… so who could it be?
"Come in." Boris said, looking with intrigue at the door which openly forcefully. In the doorway stood the frame of Amelia who smiled at Boris.
"Thought I'd find you here!" She grinned as she walked in, something that immediately put Boris on edge. "Wow… this room is way cleaner than I thought it would be." She remarked, looking around.
"Uh yeah, we all like to keep things clean." Boris admitted with a shrug, "Can I help you?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh! Right! Yeah you can!" Amelia laughed, "I just wanted to pick your brain about last night!"
"Total shocker right." Boris said with a loud sigh, "I have no idea what happened."
"Well, it's obvious isn't it?" Amelia said with another laugh, "I mean if you think about it, the votes should have tied at worst. And they didn't."
"No they didn't." Boris shook his head.
"So that means, one of the four people who were voting for Yves, did not vote for Yves."
"Um yeah that's true."
"So the real question is… who didn't vote with us." Amelia said with a sigh, her eyes fixed onto Boris' "Was it you?"
"What?! No!" Boris spluttered, looking at Amelia with wide eyes. "I want to get rid of Yves as much as you do!"
"So who voted against the plan then?" Amelia asked again, her eyes narrowing.
"Maybe Alyssa messed up herself." Boris shrugged, "She's always been a little scatterbrained." His words gave Amelia pause as she tapped a finger to her chin.
"Hmmm… you might be right!" Amelia conceded with a shrug of her own, "Oh well, no point getting worked up over it! See you at the challenge!" And with that she left as quickly as she came, shutting the door behind her with a small wave.
"Wow… that was intense." Boris let out a breath he didn't realise he was holding as he rubbed the back of his neck.
(Confessional)
BORIS: Is Amelia onto me already? I guess I should have thought about the numbers better but I really thought she'd be too broken to even properly process what was going on! Maybe I need to rethink our whole alliance, especially if she isn't going to keep blindly trusting me.
AMELIA: Boris does have a point, Alyssa isn't the most… with it. And she's also emotional, but I still don't see why she would ruin a plan that she knew would leave one of us out high and dry. I've got my eye on you Boris, and I will cut you loose if I even think you're stepping out of line again!
(Outside the Cabin)
Marnie had gathered all seven remaining contestants in front of the cabin, which had now become synonymous with a new challenge starting. The producer turned host smiled as the seven of them looked at her expectantly, enjoying that feeling of power.
"Welcome top half!" She greeted them, "We have a really good challenge for you guys this time! You could call this challenge a bit of a… sneak peek to some other season we may or may not have in the pipeline."
"Are we going to end up in an endless cycle of competing in these seasons?" Yves asked with a straight face.
"No." Marnie answered with an equally straight face. "If we continue the show, we want some fresh faces each season, you'd all get a little boring."
"How kind." Kahlin muttered, only heard by Ashe next to him who snickered slightly at it.
"Regardless! Inspired by the potentially upcoming Total Drama; European Road Trip! The seven of you will be competing in… A go kart race!"
"Okay that makes literally no sense." Iris said, "How does Europe, or a road trip relate to a go kart race."
"Because you're driving?" Marnie said as if it was completely obvious. "But instead of going around Europe! The seven of you will be driving around this state of the art karting course that we absolutely have not stolen from an extremely popular series with the same premise." She pointed off to the slight distance which saw a mountain with what appeared to be a face that was grinning at them.
"That's not creepy at all." Amelia said with a roll of her eyes. As she said that the contestants heard a rather loud explosion followed by a plume of smoke near the mountain. If they squinted they could see a small figure driving a kart flying through the air towards the mountain.
"Oh that must be Kyle testing out the course. He just used the cannon."
"CANNON?!" Ashe gasped, his eyes widening, as did many of his fellow contestants.
"Oh yeah. That's how you get up the mountain, so you can drive back down." Marnie said with a smile. "Don't worry, I'm totally sure Kyle is fine, and you will be too."
"This all feels ridiculously unsafe." Aleena grimaced,
"Oh don't worry." Marnie smiled at them, "It's going to get worse."
(A garage)
The seven contestants and Marnie have now moved to a garage where seven identical carts were lined up next to each other.
"As you can see, you have all been given the same base vehicle. But we've decided to give you all the option to make some… adjustments." Marnie smiled as she pulled a rope and a curtain fell down to reveal an assortment of weapons: spikes, spears, flaming torches, it was a dream to some and a nightmare to others.
"This is so cool!" Boris said with a grin, running over to look at a spear. "These are real!"
"That is absolutely not safe." Iris sighed, "People could die!"
"Your contracts say we're not responsible for bodily injury on the show." Marnie shrugs.
"Death is not a bodily injury." Kahlin said with a scowl. The new host could only shrug at the response and set off to leave the garage.
"You have an hour to work on your carts! See you at the starting line!" She grinned as she walked out. Begrudgingly the seven contestants began to work on their karts.
Confessional
ASHE: I don't even have my licence! Is this legal for me to even be doing? Am I going to get arrested for driving illegally?!
YVES: Hmm this challenge seems like its just as much about strategy as it is about driving skill, I know I have at least one of those things. So let's see if I know how to drive a car.
AMELIA: I got my licence ages ago! Directors really like it when they can actually shoot you driving a real car, adds to the realism. So that's a plus! In some countries they won't even let you look like you're driving a moving vehicle without a licence!
(The Race Track)
The seven contestants all gathered at the starting line, each of them having decked out their karts with exciting additions. Yves' seemed to have very aggressively spikey wheels. Boris' had what looked to be a rather large flamethrower hanging off the back which could cause extreme damage should it hit someone.
Everyone's carts seemed to have some sort of aggressive attachment except for Iris' It instead shined in the sun, glinting wildly in all directions.
"Well, these are certainly interesting!" Marnie exclaimed as she looked over the seven contestants. "I'm sure we're all going to have so much fun today!"
"Can we at least get some sort of protection… maybe a helmet?" Kahlin asked with a slightly uncomfortable look behind the wheel of his kart.
"I was getting to that." Marnie rolled her eyes. "Kyle!" The intern in turn rolled his own eyes and passed out helmets to everyone. They all quickly put them on and got back ready to drive.
"First person to complete three laps of the course wins the challenge and immunity." Marnie announced as she held a chequered flag in front of them all.
"Ready! Set! GO!" She called, dropping the flag as the seven contestants began to speed off. Boris and Iris quickly took early leads with Kahlin and Aleena being the two who were stuck at the bottom.
"Haha! All those summers at my own personal race track are paying off!" Boris laughed as he sped off ahead of the others, clearly experienced in driving like this.
"Rushing leads to accidents!" Iris called out after him as she stayed ahead of the pack, if only due to her own confidence behind the wheel. "Good thing I got my licence ages ago." She giggled. Her kart continued to reflect the sunlight into the eyes of the other players including Amelia who was driving behind her.
"Good thing I always carry a pair of sunglasses." She smirked as she reached down and pulled out a pair of glasses which stopped Iris' car from blinding her.
"Um sorry." Ashe muttered as he tried to push Yves off of the course with the side of his own kart, which had been equipped with a long piece of wood that was used as a makeshift battering ram. The dancer gritted her teeth and put her foot down, trying to speed ahead of Ashe to protect herself, succeeding in doing so and moving out of danger.
Kahlin and Aleena were driving along at the back in silence, both of them seemed nervous behind the wheel and were struggling to even drive in straight lines.
"This is way harder than it looks." Aleena moaned, holding her wheel with both hands in a tight grip.
"Um… yeah." Kahlin said too, accidentally pressing the brake pedal and flinging himself against the steering wheel. "Ow."
(Confessional)
IRIS: I thought it would be really good to make a kart that isn't so mean. So I made it really shiny so everyone else won't be able to see where they're driving! That way if they get hurt it's their own fault.
KAHLIN: I'm really not very fond of all these karts. I just feel like they're unnecessarily dangerous and not to mention awful for the environment. So I guess it's just a combination of nothing good that's making me not want to be here.
(The Course)
Meanwhile our frontrunners were quickly approaching the thing that I'm sure you've all been waiting for! The Cannon! Boris was the first to arrive and continued to drive into what appeared to be the cannon's barrel.
"This isn't so bad." He smiled… he spoke too soon. All of a sudden a massive explosion rang in his ears as he was rocketed upwards and forwards, right towards their mountain.
"THIS IS SO BAD!" He screamed as he clung onto his kart for dear life as he sailed through the air. He heard an explosion behind him followed by female screams that he assumed to be Iris, but all of a sudden he ended up slamming onto the ground of the mountain, which had a surprisingly good track to race down.
"Okay go time!" He said shakily as he put his foot back onto the accelerator, speeding down the hill as he heard another kart land behind him.
"That was awful!" Iris moaned as she also continued driving, "None of this can be legal surely!" Of course no one answered her, but thanks to the downwards incline of the mountain she was starting to gain on Boris.
"Oh no you don't!" Boris cried, looking behind him to see Iris gaining. He smacked a button on his steering wheel and the flamethrower mounted on the back of his kart came to life, spewing fire right at Iris who unsurprisingly screamed, swerving her kart out of the fire's way and into a fence on the side of the mountain, stopping abruptly.
"I'm okay." She muttered as Boris sped off ahead.
(Confessional)
BORIS: Haha! Did you see the look on her face when the fire started! You can't win if you're too scared to drive past me!
(Back on the Course)
Amelia, Yves and Ashe had all survived their firing through the sky and were driving down the mountain. Yves was trying her hardest to ram her spiked wheels into Amelia's tyres, determined to run her off the track, but Amelia was able to deftly dodge her attempts and was even managing to hold a spear in one hand while driving with the other.
"I took some stunt driving classes the other year!" She announced happily, getting scarily close to jabbing her spear through one of Yves' own tyres but clanged against the metal instead.
"Do we really need to be this aggressive?" Ashe moaned as he drove behind the two girls.
"That's how you win Ashe." Yves rolled her eyes as she once again moved to take out Amelia but was denied once more.
"But we could die." Ashe retorted.
"Do you really think they could actually let us die?" Amelia said with a scoff, "I mean I know they threaten to kill us at least three times an episode, but the amount of legal trouble they'd face if any of us died, especially someone like me or Boris would spell literal prison time for like most of the crew and especially the producers. Reckless endangerment of minors is a real thing."
"Oh… I mean I guess." Ashe replied, his face softening slightly.
"So you're an expert on criminal law now too?" Yves asked with a raise of her eyebrow, once again looking to ram her kart into Amelia.
"I've been working since I was like 11. You learn to protect yourself." Amelia said matter of factly, taking another jab at Yves' tyre and almost piercing it, but coming just short.
"I can't imagine having to live like that." Ashe said with a sigh as swerved around Yves' kart on the other side to Amelia and started to drive past them. "Oh and sorry." He said with a sheepish grin as the two girls looked with a mix of shock and admiration.
"I'm still gonna get you." Yves said as her eyes narrowed, once again trying to stab Amelia's kart but failing once more as the girls' rivalry kept them going.
(Confessional)
AMELIA: I mean it's true! I spent a lot of time brushing up on what was and wasn't legal for me to do when I was working. Do you think producers really care about you? They only care about the money and the ratings. You have to keep yourself safe.
(The front of the pack)
Driving down the mountain, Boris, who had been comfortably at the front for a while now, caught a look behind him to see a kart growing bigger in the distance.
"Ashe?!" He asked with a shocked gasp, seeing the small boy gaining on him nearly caused him to swerve off the course but he got himself under control before he did. It wasn't long before Ashe was almost neck and neck with him. "Sorry not sorry Ashe!" Boris called out once he had gotten pretty close to the back of him. The rich kid hit the button on his wheel once more which activated his flamethrower.
"Oh my god?!" Ashe screamed as he quickly threw the kart out of the way of the incoming wave. "That cannot be safe."
"No. Probably not." Boris smiled as he manoeuvred himself in front of Ashe once more and let out a blast of fire.
"You're insane." Ashe moaned as he had to quickly move out of the way of the fire once again, feeling the heat against his cheeks.
"It's not against the rules." Boris smiled as he hit the button to release one more attack. However, the contraption on the back of his kart only spluttered and nothing but smoke came out. "What?! It's empty already?! That's all I put on here!"
"Oops." Ashe shrugged as he pulled up beside Boris. "Sorry not sorry?" He said, albeit in a much less commanding tone than Boris previously and used the battering ram on the side of his own kart to unceremoniously push Boris off of the edge of the course.
Don't worry he landed in a safety net that the producers had thankfully remembered to set up. But it left him out of the race.
(Confessional)
MARNIE: As you can see, all necessary safety precautions were taken to ensure the well-being of our contestants.
ASHE: I feel a bit evil taking Boris out of the challenge like that, but he did sort of deserve it, I mean he tried to literally roast me alive! And it felt kinda good to push him off the track I can't lie.
BORIS: I was beaten by Ashe! Of all people! The anxious nerd beat me? What a joke.
(The Track)
Aleena and Kahlin, by virtue of keeping to themselves and struggling to even drive were still in the race while others had fallen, however unless they picked up the pace there was no chance of either of them winning. Aleena was pulling ahead of Kahlin as she got the hang of her kart faster than Kahlin although her success was sparse and she wasn't pulling that much further ahead.
"How am I struggling so much, there's like two pedals." She moaned as the kart wouldn't move for her.
"Because these things are evil." Kahlin complained, also struggling to get his own kart to move.
"You're right." Aleena sighed as the two of them continued to slowly move through the course.
(The Finish Line)
Managing to maintain his lead, Ashe finished the first lap, well first, and was currently going through the course a second time.
"Haha! I'm winning!" He grinned as crossed the line and waved at the cameras pointed at him. "Who would have thought I'd be doing well in a challenge."
"Not me!" Came a voice from behind him as a whistle could be heard through the air. Suddenly a large wooden spear pierced the front of Ashe's kart, pinning it to the ground and stopping him from moving any more. Amelia rushed past him, having thrown the spear herself, a smug look on her face as she whittled down her rivals even more.
"Oof! Bad luck Ashe!" Yves called as she sped by soon after, intent on catching up to Amelia.
"Dammit." Ashe sighed as he realised his chance of winning was gone just like that.
Thankfully Marnie was close by to give us a little update!
"Well! We've just had our first contestants finish the first lap! And we've already had three people drop out of the race! Iris, Boris and Ashe have all been rendered incapable of continuing to race leaving only four people left to fight for the trophy! Although, let's be honest here, Aleena and Kahlin may as well be out themselves." Marnie laughed, just as the two of them crossed the finish line themselves, seemingly almost getting the hang of driving their karts now.
"Don't count us out yet! Aleena called out to the host, who only laughed in response.
"We'll see about that."
(Confessional)
ALEENA: Yeah, so I struggled to drive the kart for a while, but that just means that I was in less danger at the beginning of the race! Like three people wiped out before they'd even crossed the line once, so who's the real loser?
AMELIA: I took a spear throwing class once too. Don't ask.
(The Course)
Amelia and Yves spent the entirety of the next lap of the race locked in battle, much like they had for the first one, both of them vying for the coveted first place and immunity. It wasn't until our two frontrunners crossed the finish line to start the final lap that the drama really picked up.
Amelia, using her last spear, was still fending off Yves' aggressive attacks; what she wasn't expecting though, was for Yves to forcefully grab the end off Amelia's spear and rip it out of her hand.
"Ow!" Amelia cried as the wood ran painfully across her skin.
"Gotcha!" Yves shouted in victory, finally managing to jam the spikes on her wheels into Amelia's kart. She however did not predict the next problem. When she tried to pull away to release the spikes from Amelia's kart, they didn't come out, instead the two of them were locked together.
"Wow, that's quite funny." Amelia laughed as she pulled her own wheel in the opposite direction to Yves, dragging her kart along with her.
"Let me go my way!" Yves argued, both of them fighting over control, with Yves now pulling them in the opposite direction, and towards a drop off a cliff. Noticing this, Amelia couldn't help but smile.
"If you insist." Amelia grinned as she quickly matched her direction to Yves' causing the two karts to careen right off the edge of the cliff.
"Damn you Amelia!" Yves cursed as the two of them fell into the net below and out of the challenge.
(Confessional)
AMELIA: If I'm not going to win I'm taking her down with me.
YVES: Taken off the track because of my own stupid design… it's okay, it just means the games start to begin now.
(The Course)
"If you haven't been keeping up." Marnie began at the finish line as Aleena and Kahlin passed her for their final lap. "Those two are the only two players left on the track! Which means that one of them is going to win the challenge! And they are… Well, let's just say that I would feel very confident if they were driving on the roads!"
Indeed, the two remaining contestants were definitely taking their time. Driving at safe, and considered speeds.
"So, do you think they're gonna call off the race soon?" Kahlin mused as the two of them pottered along the course.
"Well… I thought they would have done it now if I'm honest." Aleena sighed, "I'm getting kind of bored to be honest, but I guess they're waiting for us."
"Yeah… maybe." Kahlin replied as the two of them were shot out of the cannon together and landed on the mountain. They were used to it now and didn't even make a sound as they sailed through the air.
"Oooh that's pretty." Aleena mentioned, taking the camera from her neck for the first time in the race and snapping a shot of the horizon.
"Yeah totally." Kahlin said in awe as he looked out in the same direction.
"You know…" Aleena started, "I was kind of thinking, sort of in a game sense, that no one can hear us right now."
"That's true." Kahlin nodded, looking at Aleena inquisitively.
"I know that right now, we've been sort of at odds, we're in two different alliances." Aleena said with a shrug, "But that doesn't mean we can't work together, if anything that's going to be even more shocking."
"You make a solid point." Kahlin nodded, "We can talk about it more when we're not driving down a literal mountain without railings, but I'm interested."
"Great!" Aleena said as the two of them travelled down the mountain together at a leisurely jaunt.
(Confessional)
ALEENA: You seeing that? I'm being strategic, bet you didn't expect to see that from me! I think I'm so close to the end now that it seems silly to not try and seriously plan to win. So that's what I'm doing!
KAHLIN: I think taking the time to enjoy the view in that challenge was one of the best things I could do for me. It really helped me remember that there is so much more than this game.
(The Finish Line)
"And so now we have our final two contestants! And they are… not racing at all." Marnie complained as Aleena and Kahlin turned the final corner basically neck and neck, not trying to win in the slightest.
"Come on guys! One of you is gonna win!" Marnie tried to call to them, but they couldn't hear her.
"What?!" Aleena screamed back, holding a hand to her ear.
"THE FIRST PERSON TO CROSS THE LINE WINS!" Marnie shouted back again.
"WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Kahlin called back, sharing a laugh with Aleena as they trundled along towards the line.
"GRRAH!" Marnie cried out as she watched the two of them trundle towards the line, completely level with each other. "One of you just press the accelerator and go faster!" And one of them did, even if by accident as they sailed over the line just before their competitor.
"Kahlin wins the race and immunity!" Marnie called as Kahlin and Aleena both looked at her in shock.
"Wait he was the first one to finish?!" Aleena asked incredulously, looking around and noticing that all the other contestants were sitting on some chairs a little way off the track.
"Yep! Everyone else wiped out!" Marnie said with a forced smile.
"Oh wow." Kahlin seemed shocked, nodding to himself. "I'll take it then I suppose." He laughed looking apologetically at Aleena, "It could have been either of us." He said with a shrug.
"You're right." Aleena smiled, "Smile for your winners pick though." She snapped the shot of Kahlin and laughed, "Perfect."
"And just like that, Kahlin wins immunity tonight, somehow, and will not be eliminated tonight. The rest of you though, one of you will be leaving. I'll give you some time to decide who that might be." Marnie narrated before walking off the set, leaving only the contestants left.
"Well… that was fun." Iris said with a giggle, she'd been waiting the longest for the challenge to finish after all.
"I guess we all got a little bit cocky huh…" Ashe laughed with her as they all returned to the cabin to discuss the vote.
(Confessional)
KAHLIN: Hey I won! Turns out slow and steady really does win the race!
IRIS: I spent a lot of time sitting and watching in that challenge! And it was just as boring as you would imagine actually. Hopefully the next challenge is a little bit more up my alley. If I make it I suppose.
BORIS: Time to set the plan into action! This is where I start to take over this game and make it to the end!
(The Cafeteria)
Ashe and Kahlin were sat in the cafeteria together, enjoying a meal as the latter enjoyed his victory.
"Good job on winning." Ashe smiled, giving Kahlin a firm squeeze on his shoulder.
"Thanks Ashe." Kahlin smiled back, taking a bite of his food. "Are you okay though? You wiped out."
"Oh I'm totally fine! Amelia managed to throw a spear through my kart, it was scary impressive actually." He laughed it off although his eyes did betray a slight tinge of fear. "Actually maybe just scary."
"Yeah I can imagine." Kahlin laughed, "Aleena and I just enjoyed the view, and had some chats. And then I won so really it all paid off."
"The tortoise beat the hare." Ashe laughed, "You'll need to watch when I shoved Boris off the track when this all airs, it was really funny."
"Yeah I can bet." Kahlin laughed, looking at Ashe with nothing but fondness.
"Kahlin… I'm glad we met." Ashe said with a grin. "I've been trying really hard lately to listen to what you told me, and to try and work on being more decisive. And it's really helping."
"Awww I'm so glad." Kahlin grinned too as he pulled Ashe into a warm hug. "You deserve it. And I'm sure you're only going to get stronger from here."
"That's the plan." Ashe said with a confident nod as he looked at Kahlin. "Like right now, I'm gonna be really decisive." He grinned as he pulled his boyfriend in for a kiss, making a move that caught even Kahlin off guard for a split-second before he returned the gesture.
"Please keep being just like this." He giggled as they both flushed a light pink.
(Confessional)
ASHE: What can I say, something about Kahlin just brings out confidence in me, and I like it! I feel like this competition has forced me to grow as a person.
(The Bathroom)
Amelia was brushing her teeth when Boris stepped into the bathroom, the two of them acknowledged each other with a nod before Boris stepped to the sink next to the actress and began to wash his face.
"Interesting challenge." He said matter of factly.
"Yeah." Amelia agreed. "Yves didn't win, so that's good."
"Really good." Boris nodded, "It's a good time to get her out."
"Last week wasn't though?" Amelia asked with a small raise of her brow.
"We tried." Boris said with a sigh, "We can't control every vote."
"No." Amelia agreed, "But it's stray votes and betrayal that lead you to go home."
"Well that won't happen this time." Boris said. He was beginning to sweat from Amelia's aura, which was unquestionably intimidating.
"No. I sure hope it doesn't" Amelia nodded, rinsing out her mouth and her toothbrush before turning on her heel and walking towards the door. "See you at the vote Boris."
"Yeah, see you then Amelia!" Boris called after her, once again letting out a huge sigh of relief as soon as she left the room.
(Confessional)
AMELIA: It's obvious Boris is the one who flipped to send Amelia home. (She flicks her hair over her shoulder) I mean, my whole career is based on me being able to convince people to accept lies as reality, and lets just say that Boris would not make it as an actor. Of course the real question is whether or not I can forgive him for his actions.
BORIS: I think I'm getting away with this! Amelia is still coming to me to talk about the vote! It's safe to continue on with her plan of getting rid of Yves for now, I just have to make sure she doesn't get too much power and get cocky, because that would be awful.
(The Lounge)
Aleena was in the lounge looking back over her photos from the challenge, deleting the ones that she found unsatisfactory, and keeping the others for the eventual use in her documentary of the game. Her face was one of pure concentration as she inspected all of the images critically.
"Having fun?" A voice asked from the doorway which shook Aleena from her focus. When she looked up she saw Kahlin smiling at her.
"Oh yeah!" Aleena grinned, beckoning Kahlin to come and sit next to her. "Look at some of these shots." She showed him one she got of Kahlin flying through the air thanks to the cannon, his face looked like he was screaming.
"Wow… that is definitely expressive." Kahlin said, flushing in embarrassment as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"It's hilarious." Aleena laughed, "Don't worry, I'm sure I looked the same, at some point."
"Getting fired out of a cannon in a go kart is just sort of terrifying." Kahlin explained with a laugh.
"No arguments from me! I got this other really good one of you too." Aleena showed Kahlin a picture she got the moment he found out he won the challenge, the joy on his face was unmistakable as he looked at Marnie with both a mix of shock and ecstasy.
"Yeah I really thought we were done for!" Kahlin laughed, "It's nice to be immune tonight, every week has felt more and more intense with the vote."
"You're telling me!" Aleena laughed, "I know we talked about working together, and I just want to reiterate that I'm totally down for that." She put down the camera and the mood turned more serious for a moment. "I don't think we should expect each other to just flip on our friends and preexisting allies, but I propose that we keep each other safe should our names come up."
"Yeah that sounds good." Kahlin nodded, "I have to ask that you extend the same courtesy to Ashe, he's really important to me."
"Yeah we know." Aleena giggled, "I'll make sure he stays safe too." Aleena nodded at Kahlin.
"Thank you." Kahlin sighed with relief, "Then it's a deal, me and you." He held out his hand which was quickly scooped up by Aleena in a handshake.
(Confessional)
KAHLIN: Everyone who's seen Total Drama knows that you need to keep your options open, I mean something crazy could happen at any time, so making sure that I have back channels to keep me and Ashe safe is the best option for us both to get to the end and take that money.
ALEENA: No but seriously look at this photo of Kahlin I got when he managed to stall his kart! (She shows an image of Kahlin scrunching his fists up in frustration with his head against the wheel of his kart) It's a shock he won really.
(The Girls' Bedroom)
Yves and Iris were enjoying some time together in their room, the two of them were just laying on Yves' bed together with their eyes closed, enjoying the moment of peace after an exciting challenge. It was Iris who broke the silence though.
"I'm glad we're friends." She said suddenly, keeping her eyes closed.
"Me too." Yves responded, a small smile on her face, "I feel like you're the only person in this game that I feel I can trust."
"You know I've got your back."
"And I've got yours too." Yves suddenly turned to face Iris, her movement caused the other girl to follow suit and the two of them were now facing each other with their eyes open. "Do you trust Ashe and Kahlin?"
"I trust them to work with us." Iris nodded, "I don't trust them to choose either of us over each other though."
"You're right." Yves nodded, "Those two have become inseparable, everyone can see that they're together now."
"Which makes them threats, especially as the numbers dwindle." Iris sighed, "It feels so wrong to talk about people like objects…"
"That's the reality of the game though." Yves sighed, "And you're right, other solid pairs when the numbers lower is way too much power. But I still don't feel comfortable with sending them home."
"Me neither." Iris laughed, "I suppose the unwillingness to vote them out is a strength in and of itself, I mean, I don't think I could see Ashe's face as he was voted out, he's just too sweet."
"That's what makes him such a threat. Although, I think Kahlin is much more of a threat when it comes to challenges." Yves admitted, "He's smart, he's strong and he's skilled. It's a deadly combination."
"So are you." Iris said with a smirk.
"You're right…" Yves shrugged, "So he'll probably try to take me out at some point too, if he's as smart as we're giving him credit for."
Their conversation was cut short when someone else entered the room, both girls' turned their heads to see Amelia coming into the room. She places her toothbrush back in her bag and sits on her bed looking at the two girls.
"Hey you two." She says with a smile, "Glad I caught you both actually, I think we should have a little chat about our futures in the game."
"Well yours is probably gonna be very short Amelia." Yves said with a scowl.
"Now, now, no need to be so hasty." Amelia tried to placate Yves, "I'm not here to goad you or try and brag, just present some cold hard facts."
"We're listening." Iris said quickly, feeling Yves bristling with energy next to her.
"I know we're not friends, I know we're not close, but you can't deny that we've both been sort of laser focused on each other that we haven't looked around us. I mean, if I'm not winning I would at least like it to be a girl, which is why I'm just pointing out that the guys are sort of getting to drift by while we duke it out."
"That's true." Yves conceded as Iris nodded next to her.
"But what do you want to do about that?" The red-haired girl asked, intrigued by Amelia.
"Well, Ashe and Kahlin are a tight duo, you know it, I know it. And we don't have long before they get too much power. But we also have to look at Boris, I mean the dude is a total loose cannon who has no idea how the game really works. I just think it would be silly to ruin the chances of a female winner by infighting, you know?"
"I see your point." Yves nodded, "I can't trust you of course, but I'll think about it."
"That's all I can ask." Amelia nodded as she grabbed something from her back and stepped out of the room. "See you both at the vote."
"Bye Amelia." Iris waved to the girl. She immediately turned back to Yves once the girl had left the room. "What an interesting development." She mused to her friend.
"Indeed." Yves agreed.
(Confessional)
AMELIA: Of course I can't trust either of them to trust me, or even consider what I'm saying. But hopefully they have enough brains to see that I'm actually coming up with some interesting ideas.
YVES: I swear there's never an easy vote on this damn show, every time someone comes up and presents some sort of interesting idea that makes a lot of sense but could actively work to bite me in the ass. And of course I won't know until after I've committed. All for the money Yves, all for the money.
(Elimination Ceremony)
As usual, the seven contestants were gathered around a campfire as Marnie stood in front of them, six snow globes on a tray in front of her. She smiled as the seven teens looked at her anxiously.
"Aren't you all so excited to be here." She said with a little chuckle, "You all know the deal by now, you're all going to vote for someone, the person with the most votes won't receive one of these very cute snowglobes, and as a result will be eliminated from the game. So shall we get on with this with no delays?"
"Actually." Amelia said as she stood up, "There's just something that I would like to address to the group." Everyone's heads turned to her, all of them displaying some form of shock or confusion as Marnie's eyes lit up.
"Please go ahead Amelia!" She gestured for the actress to take it away who nodded at Marnie.
"Well, I just wanted to share that my intention tonight is to vote for Boris." She said with a smile, the rich boy's eyes widened in shock immediately and his mouth dropped. "I know it may seem silly to display my intentions so openly but I feel that the likelihood of things going awry tonight are quite high, so I'm letting everyone know where my vote is going. I ask of course that you all copy me, but it's up to you." She shrugged as she sat down.
"Are you kidding me?!" Boris called out, "You're going to vote for me after all the work we've done together?!" He called out,
"What work Boris?" Amelia asked with a raise of her eyebrow, "Last time I checked, you actively worked against me at the last vote."
"No I didn't! I already told you what happened."
"Do you take me for a fool Boris?" Amelia asked with a sigh, "I'm well aware that part of this game is voting people out, I know what I signed up for. But I am also incredibly upfront in the way I do things, I don't lie to people's faces about being their ally and then stabbing them in the back." She looked at everyone around her in the eye, lingering particularly long on Yves before continuing. "I'm asking if you would rather keep someone in the game who is going to be upfront and honest about their intentions with you, or someone who has now been proven to form trust with you, only to break it at a later date."
"This is ridiculous!" Boris called out, pleading with his fellow contestants. "Amelia's been masterminding this whole game! And you'd be foolish to keep her in it! Vote for her with me and you won't regret it!" With that Boris clenching his fists and his jaw as Marnie looked at them with glee in her eyes.
"Perfect! What a dramatic ceremony! And we haven't even voted." She clapped happily, "Aleena, I think you can be our first vote tonight!" The filmmaker nodded, looking slightly concerned at the events that had just transpired but took herself to the confessional anyway.
(Voting Confessional)
AMELIA: That was a last ditch effort to keep myself in the game, hopefully I did enough to convince everyone to work with me. Boris, you should have thought harder before you decided to cross me.
BORIS: Amelia thinks she can just expose me like that to everyone! They all like me more than her anyway, so its obvious she just feels scared. I hope you enjoy loserville loser!
YVES: Well… that sure is an interesting development, I'm not sure how everyone else is going to be voting, but I know who I would rather take out right now. That's for certain.
(Elimination Ceremony)
"I've got six little snow globes here! Of course the first one goes to our immunity winner Kahlin!" The chill dude caught it with a smile and a nod.
"Also safe tonight, Aleena and Iris." Marnie threw the two girls their snow globes, which they caught with relieved sighs.
"Ashe. You're all good buddy." Ashe caught his snow globe and was immediately swept into a hug from Kahlin, who placed a kiss on his forehead.
"Three of you left, but one of you not going home is… Yves!" The dancer caught her snow globe with a knowing smile as she looked between Amelia and Boris.
"Amelia, Boris, you both received votes tonight, although it's worth noting that it wasn't even close tonight." Marnie laughed as the two looked increasingly nervous. "So whoever goes home tonight, just know that literally no one else in the game wanted you here." The two looked even more nervous, Boris was anxiously chewing on his nails while Amelia was clenching the fabric of her clothes painfully tight.
"The person going home tonight is…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…Boris!" Amelia caught the final snow globe as Boris let out a cry of anguish.
"I wasn't supposed to lose!" He moaned as he dropped to his knees, Amelia looked over him with a shrug.
"Well ya did." She said matter of factly as she got up. "I hope you learn to lie a bit better buddy, you're totally obvious."
"She's right Boris, you totally lost." Marnie laughed, "And that means you're going to go home! I'll meet you at the top of the mountain, the rest of you are free to return to the cabin. See you for the next challenge!" Boris continued to stay in the snow as the other six players all got up and returned to the cabin.
(Confessional)
YVES: Yeah I voted for Boris tonight, Amelia's right, I know what her plans are, and I know what she's going to do. Boris will always be a loose cannon and I can't have that kind of unpredictability running around in the game.
(The Top of the Mountain)
Marnie was waiting on the top of the mountain, it had been quite a while since the end of the ceremony and they were ready for Boris to take his ski down to Loserville, except… he wasn't there.
"Where is this kid?!" She asked the interns, cameramen, and other producers around her, none of them had the answer. "It's been like thirty minutes, did they get lost?!"
"Um… Marnie?" An unnamed intern ran up to Marnie who turned to them with a fierce scowl.
"Yes?" She said, tapping her foot impatiently.
"The contestant has gone missing…" The intern explained as Marnie's eyes bugged out of her head.
"MISSING?! YOU LET A CONTESTANT GO MISSING?!" Immediately her face turned to one of panic, "We're gonna get done! The whole point of me taking over from those buffoons was to keep the ratings high and the contestants safe! And the contestants are clearly not safe!"
"I'm sorry, I… don't know where he's gone." The intern stammered as the producers behind the cameras all looking at each other in shock.
"Well… it's time to get looking for him!" Marnie called as the intern nodded intensely and scuttered away. Marnie turned her attention to everyone else behind the scenes. "That means everyone!"
People dispersed as Marnie looked to a cameraman.
"Keep rolling, we'll cut it up in post but we need to film an outro!" She quickly threw herself into her hosting position and beginning her outro.
"What an interesting episode! Yves and Amelia seem to have called a truce between their alliances and it was Boris who took the fall because he's just too erratic! We all saw it coming, and honestly I'm surprised he made it as far as he did! We've got six contestants left vying for our prize, but only one of them will take the crown!"
"Will Yves and Amelia continue to work together on rocky terms?"
"Will Ashe and Kahlin's love prevail over the power of the girls as the only two boys left in the game?"
"And will Intern Kyle ever get here with my latte? Find out all of this and more, next time on Total!"
"Drama!"
"Audacious Alpines!"
(The Cheap Hotel)
Chris and Don were once again spending their time doing absolutely nothing, as they often did these days when suddenly Don's phone began to ring. He looked at the number with a look of confusion before answering the call.
"Don speaking." Chris craned his ear to listen to the rest of the conversation but couldn't make out the other person on the line.
"Yes Carly I'm listening." Don nodded, "You're saying what?! A contestant has gone missing on set? That's great news! Well not for the contestant but that's just the ammunition we need! Thank you Carly, you're a lifesaver. Bye now." Don smiled as Chris looked at him with a huge grin.
"Does that mean what I think it means?" He asked, barely containing the excitement in his voice.
"Yes it does." Don nodded, "Call Priya, we have a cabin to go and visit."
"On it!" Chris shouted as he ran to grab his shoes, "Let's get our show back!"
(Somewhere rather dark and dank)
A cloaked and hooded figure was walking through somewhere nondescript but rather dark, which only helped to hide them even further from the person who was being dragged behind them. This person was our currently missing contestant Boris!
"Unhand me!" He called out to the figure who categorically ignored him and continued walking. "Don't you know who you're dealing with!" He cried out, "My father is one of the richest men on the planet, you're going to be in so much trouble!"
"I know who your father is." The figure responded shortly, "It's the whole reason you're here." They laughed.
"What do you mean?" Boris asked, losing his tough demeanor rather quickly.
"Well, let's just hope that your father thinks you're worth a lot of money." The figure laughed, leading Boris into a room that was thankfully equipped with basic living necessities, a bed, a chair, a working toilet.
"This is… surprisingly more than I was expecting." Boris admitted.
"I'm not a monster." The figure said, if they didn't have the hood obscuring their face you could imagine that they rolled their eyes.
"Can you at least tell me who you are?" Boris asked with a scowl.
"I suppose." The figure shrugged, removing their hood. Boris just stared at them for a while.
"Sorry, I have no idea who you are." Boris said with a shrug of his own, "Do we know each other?"
"Ugh! This is why you're being ransomed!" The figure groaned before leaving the room and locking the door. An observant viewer would have been able to catch their face as they were leaving in the light. It was none other than…
Intern Kyle!
And there we have it! We're down to 6! But something tells me it might be a little bit before we get to the next stage of the competition seems likes there's some unfinished business here! First off a massive thank you to Alexsneushoorn for letting me use Boris for the game! And although his story isn't quite over yet, he has been eliminated from the game. Boris has been far and away one of my favourite characters to write this season, I've thoroughly enjoyed his journey from annoying brat to annoying brat who can also sometimes be strategic! I hope you've enjoyed reading him as well!
Intern Kyle has been the shadowy figure this whole time! And let's be honest, if I was working as an intern on total drama I would probably turn to a life of crime as well! I imagine that probably wasn't the most obvious choice and I'm happy with that, although I fear it could also be a little bit too random. I made this storyline quite late into planning, and definitely partway into publishing the story which is probably why it feels a little forced to me. The joys of taking six months to publish a chapter I suppose! Sorry about that!
You'll have to see what becomes of Boris and Intern Kyle in the next episode though! Thank you so much for reading and please leave a review to let me know how you feel!
Much love
