Fling 6

"Honey, I'm home." Gibbs called out, as there trio came in the front door. Gibbs had called ahead and told his wife that he would be bringing Kelly and Tim home for the night. That there would be four agents outside the house. He hadn't told her anything else, but he knew she was smart enough to know that something was going on. Especially because Tony and Ziva weren't also staying the night or on the detail.

"Tim sweetheart, let me look at you and come take a seat." Shannon said, pressing a light kiss to her husband's lips, noticing the blood on Tim's ripped shirt and bandage on his arm. She took Tim by his non injured arm, and lead him to the sofa. He had his fingers tangled in with Kelly's and she dutifully followed along, while Gibbs locked up the front door. "What happened?"

"I'm OK." Tim reiterated and Shannon gave him a look of disbelief. Shannon's eyes caught Tim's hand and noticed that he had his fingers tangled lightly in Kelly's.

"Just a mishap at a crime scene, Shan. He's fine." Gibbs grumbled and Shannon didn't buy it for a second. Gibbs hadn't wanted his wife to worry and he was certain that Tim didn't want her fussing over him.

"Kell?" Shannon asked, noticing how close that Timothy McGee was sitting to their daughter and Gibbs grunted at his wife, when he realised that she had seen them too.

"Those two have been sleeping together, Shan." Gibbs let out in a huff, letting a bit of his anger from earlier in Vance's office colour his voice. "Tim's black panties girl is Kelly and Kelly's just a friend guy, is Tim."

Jethro Gibbs couldn't believe the turn of events the day had taken and he just wanted to do nothing more than to separate them. It wasn't that he didn't like Tim McGee because he did. He didn't like anyone, no matter who they were making moves on his daughter. Kelly was his daughter, she was his child, it was his job to protect her.

"Well yeah Jethro, I gathered that when I saw them locking lips, yesterday afternoon on the side of the house." Shannon chuckled and Tim paled. "They thought that they were being so discreet and it clearly wasn't the first time they had kissed, either. They weren't awkward at all. In fact it looked like they were both enjoying the kiss."

"Ahh, Mom?" Kelly asked, confused. There was no way that her mom had seen her and Tim kissing. "How could you have possibly seen that? I looked around, first."

"Nothing's changed since you were a kid, Kelly Anne." Shannon laughed and patted Tim on the leg in support and comfort. "I know and see everything that goes on in this house and within the boundary lines of this property. I saw you two. You thought you were so discreet, taking Tim by the hand, showing him the trash cans before luring him into your old playhouse. What I don't understand is, why did you two feel you had to sneak around? Your father and I would have been thrilled if you'd just come out with the truth. Timothy, you should have just been straight with us, too."

"Mom, it's just a fling." Kelly announced and Shannon looked between the two of them. "It's not serious, we're just blowing off some steam and having fun together."

"Sure it is, Sweetheart." Shannon placated them, before heading out in to the kitchen to check on dinner. They weren't fooling her. They were too into it and it was too passion-filled to be just a fling. Plus, if it was just a fling, they probably wouldn't have bothered to hide it. "Dinner's ready."

Dinner was tense and awkward. Kelly and Tim were sharing heated glances. Shannon and Jethro were sharing knowing glares. Shannon was watching the young couple closely and Gibbs wasn't more than a foot away from Tim, worried he might get too close to Kelly.

After the clean up, Shannon sent Gibbs to the basement to work on his boat, telling him that he needed to come back in a better mood. Kelly and Tim pulled out their laptops and started getting everything ready to go through Kelly's business records, looking for someone else with an axe to grind. The Gibbs family internet router was spotty at best. It didn't have the correct strength or capacity to carry the load that Kelly and Tim needed to get into the paperwork. Tim cannibalised an old set of jumper leads, co-aux cable, some old wiring Gibbs had laying around, an old LAN cable Tim had in his go bag, Shannon's cell phone charger and Kelly's cell phone to boost the signal. Once it was was successfully boosted, they needed to find the correct angle for the maximum signal strength.

"When you see full bars in that icon tell me to stop." Tim instructed Shannon who was keen to watch what Tim and Kelly were doing and help in any way she could. Tim was standing on a chair, trying to get the best signal.

"Right there." Shannon said, as Kelly climbed up on the chair with the silver roll of duct tape and tapped the phone to the downstairs roof.

Kelly had to get up, inside Tim's personal space to tape the phone to the roof, as Tim held it in position perfectly. Her body brushed against his as she reached on her tiptoes, she heard his sharp intake of air and slight hiss, as her hip brushed his manhood. Tim took the tape from her fingers and taped it in its place, Kelly unable to reach.

With the makeshift booster in place, Tim climbed off the chair first and he lifted Kelly off the chair and into a half spin, holding her by the hips close to him. "You OK?" he asked her, looking at her closely.

"Oh yeah." She replied, with a smirk and a little wink. Shannon murmured an excuse to leave and went and joined her husband in the basement. It was time for a reality check for the gruff and grumpy former Marine.

"Shan? Everything OK?" Jethro Gibbs asked his wife, seeing her close the utility room door to the basement behind her, as she made her way down the steps and into the basement. Given she closed the door behind her, he gathered that she didn't want to be overheard by the two younger ones, upstairs.

"Are you done behaving like a pre-schooler?" she asked in reply, her tone humorous but firm. "Time to lay your cards on the table, Jethro."

"Fact. They shouldn't have snuck around." Gibbs began with a sigh. He knew that Shannon would pull this stunt with him. She had done it before and no doubt she would have to pull it again in the future. "Fact. They snuck around because they got scared."

"Amendment. Scared of the new feelings that they have for one another." Shannon interrupted him fiercely. "Fact. They're both adults and you don't get a say. Fact. Timothy McGee is a good man. Fact. She likes him."

"Fact. He's not good enough for her." Gibbs interrupted her turn. "Shan, fact is; no one's ever going to be good enough for our daughter. She's our child, the only one we were blessed with."

"Fact. Timothy McGee comes damn close. We both know that." Shannon came and stood between her husband's legs and looped her arms around his neck. She caught his eyes and gave him a small smile. "What is it about Tim being with Kelly that has you so scared, Jethro? You've never behaved this way over Kelly having a boyfriend before. Even her first boyfriend, that little punk."

"He's not her boyfriend, they're having a fling. They've been clear on that point." Gibbs grumbled and Shannon reached up and lovingly, but gently head slapped him to focus. "When they placed her in my arms, when she was born, I envisioned her whole life. Crawling and walking, to her first house and her wedding day. I even pictured the kind of man that she was going to marry. Tim is him, right down to those green eyes."

"So what's the problem?" she asked, not seeing what her husband was trying to say. "You ought to be happy for her. Encouraging their relationship to grow. You're in a unique position here, Jethro. Don't squander it. Not only do you like the man, but you love him like family, already."

"Don't you get it, Shan? I recruited him." Gibbs tried to explain and couldn't find the words. "He's my agent. If they get together I'm going to lose one of the best agent's I've ever had."

"You're scared you're going to lose him as an agent." She murmured and kissed her husband's lips. "But you know what, you could gain him as a son in law."

"He's going places, that one. All the way to the top. Not gonna be on my team forever." Gibbs murmured, pulling Shannon closer to him, so that their bodies were flush against one another. He let his hands roam the expansion of her back and hips.

Shannon grinned to herself, he husband was so predictable. He would tell her anything that he could, if she stood in his space long enough. "When did you first realise who Tim was?" she asked him in a whisper.

"On the dock, that day in Norfolk." Gibbs murmured. He wasn't stupid. He knew what his wife was doing. She had done this plenty of times before. It was her version of truth serum with him. Her touch, it was his kryptonite. "Been waiting ever since for the other shoe to drop. Thought I was ready. Turns out you're never ready to trust your daughter to another man."

Shannon kissed him. She poured everything into her kiss. Breaking it off, she rested her forehead against his. "They're not getting married yet, Jethro. Hell they haven't even worked out their own feelings, let alone their feelings for one another. Relax Jethro, we have time." she kissed him, a barely there feather kiss. "You know what you have to do, right?"

He knew what he had to do. He didn't need Shannon to tell him. "Fifteen minutes?" he asked, knowing she was going to make a counteroffer.

"Make it ten and you've got a deal, cowboy." She winked at him, kissing him and left the basement.

Upstairs had been absolute chaos when he had left for the basement. When he returned it was all quiet. Cables and chairs were packed away, laptops were stowed in bags, the scattered files were neatly placed in Tim's shoulder bag he used for files and Tim was sitting alone on the sofa. His eyes were closed and his head was looking towards the ceiling. Gibbs knew that he wasn't sleeping, not even resting his eyes. Timothy McGee did that when he needed to gather his thoughts. He knew McGee's tells, almost as well as the man knew himself. "Apologies aren't really my strong suit, Tim. But I overreacted and I overstepped my bounds, as your team leader and as your friend, today. I am sorry for that, Tim." Gibbs admitted, taking the seat beside him on the sofa. "It wasn't you, well it was, but it wasn't. It's all very difficult to explain. You know what, it's one of those things that you will understand when you're a parent."

Gibbs could see that Tim was processing what he had just said. "Thank you, Boss." Tim said, opening his eyes to look at him. "Appreciate it."

"Here." Gibbs said, shoving a tube of gel at him. "Go shower and wash and dry the wound well, get Kelly to use that on it and wrap it up. It'll help with the burning pain. I'll see you in the morning."

"Thanks Gibbs." Tim told him, sincerely. Sure, today had rough on Tim; he and Gibbs had been improving their relationship and Gibbs had taken a major backslide. But at least he had noticed the error of his ways and apologised, breaking his infamous rule six.

"You're a good man, Tim." he said, as he stood up and the older man pat him on the leg. "I'm going to bed, help yourself to the kitchen and TV. Kell." Gibbs chuckled, as he kissed Kelly's cheek. She had just come back downstairs and was very confused by what the hell happened. She looked behind her and saw her mom heading back to her bedroom with her father trailing behind.

"What a day!" Kelly exclaimed, sitting on his non-injured arm's side. "Do I even want to know what you and my father discussed?" Kelly was in her pj's freshly showered, face scrubbed and void of any trace of the make-up he had worn today.

"Nope." Tim said, popping the p. He leaned over and kissed her lips. It was a ghost of a kiss, barely there but enough to send tingles through her body. "Can you help me with this?"

He held out the tube for her to take and she lead him into the guest room that her mom had allocated to him. "Did you want a shower first? We can take the bandage off." Kelly offered as her fingers delicately removed the bandage and the dressing to allow him to shower. Seeing the deep gash where the bullet grazed his arm, she winced and Tim tucked his forefinger under her chin and raised it to look at her in the eye.

"It looks worse than it is." He murmured, to her and she pressed her lips to his. Tim took advantage of Kelly's lips on his and pulled her into him, sinking himself into the kiss. Pulling back, Kelly rested her head against his, seeking his reassurance.

"Go shower, I'll help you with it afterwards."

While Tim showered, Kelly went upstairs and snagged her cell phone and charger, as well as her dressing gown and closed the upstairs lights, hitting each light switch off as she passed them, leaving just the light of the fireplace for her to work.

Once Tim was out of the shower, he dressed in his tee and boxers and found Kelly on the sofa in the living room, watching the fire burning. She reached up and switched on the living room lamp. It wasn't very bright. But it gave off that tiny extra ray of light she needed.

"Shirt off." Kelly smirked and Tim threw her a saucy grin as he removed the tee and smirked at her. The trim taut stomach and muscular chest, void of hair glistened in the low light of the room.

First Kelly cleaned her hands, before she cleaned the wound with the antiseptic swab. Before she gently and delicately applied the tube of clear, odourless gel that Gibbs had given him to use, to ease the burning pain. Kelly then covered the gash with a cuticerin mesh dressing to stop the wound from drying out or sticking to the gauze, some gauze to air it and a heavy combine pad to protect it in his sleep, before wrapping his arm in a conform bandage to help hold the dressings in place.

Kelly delicately ran her fingers over the wound to ensure it was padded and didn't bother Tim in his sleep, before she lowered her lips to the bandage and kissed his arm. He lowered his head to hers and pecked her lips. "All done." she whispered to him.

"Ever get the feeling like... this feels like more than just a fling, right?" Tim asked, braving his thoughts. Since that night in the club, he had felt the attraction between them building and heightening at every interaction they shared.

"You mean those butterflies in my stomach? The ones that I get every time you look at me? That jelly feeling in my legs when you kiss me?" she asked, bashfully.

"Yeah." Tim replied, sending her a sexy grin. "I was thinking and you can totally say no, but I was wondering if I can interest you in a date? An official date, once the detail is over and we don't have spectators watching our every move."

"I'd love to go out with you." She smiled at him, shyly. The small shy smile, sending shock waves through him. "Maybe a little dinner and dancing, or a movie and late night dessert."

"Maybe, we'll work out the finer details when we're free." Tim murmured and he could feel those butterflies that Kelly had mention take up residence in his own stomach. "I'm going to kiss you now."

Tim warned her in a whisper, as his lips brushed hers and their lips met in a fiery clash. Their lips excitedly gnashing against one another, their mouths hot and wanton. His lips massaging hers, as they danced together in harmony, not feeling the need to take it to the next level. Breaking off the kiss, Kelly rested her head against his. "We should take this into the bedroom." She murmured and switched off the lamp as she lead Tim into the bedroom. Leaving the fire to die out by itself. "Wouldn't be good for either of us if dad came downstairs and saw me with my hand down your pants now, would it?"

"That your next move?" Tim smirked at her, against the vivacious woman's lips. He felt her shudder in anticipation, as he tried to entice her lips to dance against his, again. "You're going to pull me?"

"No." She panted into his ear, as she walked him down the hallway and into the guest room. "I am going to do more than just 'pull' you. First I am going to ..." Her voice became a distant second, as he focused on the feelings she was stirring in him and the sensory affects that her body was having on his body. Her breath was hot in his ear, her breath tickling against his ear. It felt enticing on his neck, as her body squirmed against his seductively, coercing his body into matching the dance that their lips had engaged in earlier. Her hand was inside his shorts, stroking him and getting his body in a heated frenzy.

A knock at the bedroom door, saw Tim jump out of his skin and the couple broke apart. Tim willed his body to calm down. "Can I come in?" Shannon asked, as she knocked again and apologised.

Tim adjusted himself, inside his shorts a little and Kelly wiped at her mouth. They looked one another over briefly and Tim gave Shannon a curt "Come in." in reply.

"Just wanted to drop off an extra blanket." She smiled at them, handing over the heavier, soft woolen blanket with the satin ribboned trim. "It can get very cold in this room overnight. I forgot that Jackson was in this room last and he doesn't like the extra warmth on the bed."

"Thank you." Tim said, in kind. As he began unfolding it to cover the duvet on the bed. Kelly automatically took the other side of the blanket and helped him smooth it out over the bed. "Appreciate it."

"Well, good night." She said, making her way over to the doorjamb. "Feel free to help yourself to anything in the kitchen. We're upstairs if you need us."

"Not my first night away from home." Tim sassed at her, cheekily. "Thank you though, but I will be ok."

"Night, Sweetheart." Shannon said to her daughter, as she closed the door behind her.

"I hope you didn't buy a word of that, Tim." Kelly said, as she stepped back into his personal space. "That was all dad, wanting to know if I was in your room with you."

Tim believed that what Shannon had said about the room cold and Jackson being hot was true, but he had to agree with Kelly's theory too. Especially since she had already showed Tim where there was two extra blankets stashed in the bedroom closet, earlier in the evening.

"What were they doing?" he demanded, as soon as his wife returned from remembering to take the blanket downstairs. He had offered and even insisted, but Shannon had ordered him to not move a muscle. To stay put.

"Sitting and talking." She told him, as she rejoined him in their bed. She'd removed her dressing gown and laid it across the foot of the bed. "I knocked and Tim immediately said to come on in."

"You knocked? It's our house." Jethro fired back at her, as he pulled his wife's body against him, his hands circling her waist.

"Manners, Jethro!" she admonished him, kissing his lips. "It may be our house, but he's our guest. If you're so bothered by it, why didn't you let Vance put them up in a hotel?"

Shannon did everything possible not to burst out with laughter at the look on her husband's face before he spluttered out. "A hotel room? The two of them, alone? Not happening."

"Kelly is hardly a virgin, Jethro." She lectured him. Gibbs hadn't known that Kelly wasn't a virgin until she was twenty two. Shannon had never told him that she'd had two boyfriends' she'd slept with by then. He knew that she was on birth control, though. Only because he had walked in on the conversation between the mother and daughter, at sixteen years old about hormones, periods, boys and sex. His jaw had almost hit the floor when Shannon had suggested to their daughter about getting some birth control. "She's had sex with more than just the one man, too. You have to trust her to make the right decisions."

"I'm trying, Shannon." Gibbs gritted out. "It's hard knowing that I am upstairs, in my bed with you and my daughter isn't in her room down the hall, but downstairs in the guest room with a man."

"Get over it, now." She warned him, harshly. Her husbands flakey, flip-flop attitude was getting on her last nerve. "I swear to God, that if you don't..."

Jethro immediately began kissing her neck and rolling her beneath him. He knew it would be extremely wise to keep his mouth shut from this point forward. He knew from his vast experience that once Shannon threatened him, he had to drop it. Drop it or he would live to regret it.

Surprisingly, Tim slept soundly. He never usually sleep soundly, especially if it was a new place in which he hadn't slept before. There was a soft, tickle of breath just as above his belly button. He had noticed just as he entered into his conscious state. Opening his eyes, he saw a mess of golden auburn, long wavy hair that littered across his bare chest. He immediately recognised Kelly's weight against his leg.

Pulling her closer and holding her tighter was an unconscious action on Tim's part and he held his breath, as she moved against him, repositioning herself against him, so that her head was now on his shoulder. A small yawn escaped the mouth of the woman laying beside him, using him as human pillow. "Hmm, morning." Kelly smiled at him seductively, as she arched her back to stretch out the kinks in it.

"Morning" Tim returned the greeting. He couldn't help but smile at the two of them. Kelly was still in her bed socks and her oversized cotton tee that used to belong to him and he was still in his shorts and a plain grey tee. This was the first time that they had spent the night together and not had intercourse. Just slept together. Tim leaned up on one elbow, to check the time on his cell phone and saw that he still had half an hour, before he had to be up. He snuggled back down, under the covers and pulled Kelly towards him. "Not time to get up yet." He mumbled against the skin on her neck.

A rasping of knuckles on the door reminded the couple that they weren't alone. That in fact they were under Kelly's parent's roof, instead of in the privacy of one of their homes. "Time to get a move on, you two." Gibbs' voice filtered through the closed, and locked bedroom door. "Let's go."

"Surprised he didn't break the door down." Kelly smirked against Tim's skin, before placing a stray kiss on his neck. Tim's arms tightened around he waist as he felt the hot kiss on his neck. Letting out a little groan, did nothing to discourage Kelly and everything to encourage her.

Another rasp of knuckles to the door saw Kelly seeing red, which made Tim smile against her hairline. "Calm down." He whispered against her forehead as he kissed her there and tucked her beneath him. "You need to calm down. Gibbs is probably just eager to get to the office and get an update on his open case and whether or not they have any leads on where Oliver Dawson is hiding. It's ok."

Tim urged Kelly to climb out of bed too and she helped him make the bed. Tim got dressed while Kelly headed upstairs to get herself dressed. In the kitchen, Gibbs was frying bacon and eggs, while Shannon was making coffee and toast. When the younger two adults entered the room, they exchanged greetings and Shannon sent an extra smile at the younger two when Tim pouring Kelly a mug coffee and fixing it to her preferred taste. She watched with her peripheral vision as Kelly kissed him on the cheek and took her seat. Gibbs caught the action too, but one look of warning from his wife, had him biting his tongue.

Tim and Kelly offered to wash up the breakfast dishes and Gibbs was promptly sent upstairs to finish getting his gear together for work. When he returned to the living room and looked around for the younger duo, he stopped in his tracks. Kelly and Tim were standing close to one another, looking at one another. Tim reached down and smoothed the collar of her blazer out at the nape of her neck and he watched as Kelly reached up to Tim, adjusting his buttons a little on his European cut dress shirt. Kelly and Tim shared a sweet, simple kiss before both of them left the walkway between the kitchen and living room, to gather their own belongings. Ready to leave for their respective offices for the day.

Gibbs couldn't help but smile at his wife, when he was caught spying on the younger duo. He had been mad yesterday and justifiably so, but today, he was looking at the situation with a clearer head.
