Aimee's eyes fluttered open, seeing the TV was still on some kind of murder documentary. She sat up trying not to disturb the sleeping figure she was lying on just moments ago. Shaking her head, she wasn't sure quite yet what she was getting herself into.
She knew her world crumbled before her eyes, and she was just recently able to start picking up the pieces and place them back together. However, was she ready to place her broken self out in the world of dating. Jeff was sweet and the total southern gentleman, but she was so scared of getting hurt again.
So, from this point on Aimee was going to make a promise to allow herself to be happy and to have fun. She is a free woman as of tonight and nothing was standing in her way.
~Windham~
Windham placed his phone down on the stand beside him. He just had a brief conversation with the mediation lawyer, Grace, saying Aimee signed the papers earlier that day and she went ahead and processed them. He is officially divorced. The sound of that just sounded so surreal.
Yes, he is the reason for the situation however there was something that Aimee said the last time they were together in that hotel room during WrestleMania, "You're gonna miss me." Those simple words he thought would not be true ended up being what haunts him nightly. He plays it off as being the tough guy but deep down he wonders if things would change if he chose to stay with his family. He loved JoJo and loved the fact he was starting a family with her. Plus, he was overjoyed that his children accepted everything with open arms, it's just that sometimes the "what ifs" get the best of him.
Windham walked down the hall of his new house and smiled as he opened the door to check on Beau who was fast asleep. Shutting the door quietly, he crossed the hall to check on his little princess. Arrow wanted JoJo to do story time with her, so he wasn't shocked when he found she had fallen asleep along with the child. A smile formed across his face as he saw them sleeping comfortably. JoJo was going to be a great mother and she was turning out to be a great stepmother so why was he so distraught knowing he could be with her forever now.
He quietly walked into his office and sat down at his desk. Turning on his laptop, he opened a hidden file and scrolled through the pictures of the past he kept there. He wasn't a sentimental guy by any means, but he couldn't help tearing up watching a video Aimee had taken during a match of his. You could literally hear the love she had for him while she cheered him on and at one point, he chuckled at the sass she gave another fan for saying, "Bray sucks." Aimee truly was his number one fan. How could he have done this to her? He completely shattered the one person who would do anything for him.
"Windham, honey," JoJo said softly as she entered the room, "Is everything ok?"
"Of course, baby." Windham said startled, closing the laptop as she got closer to the desk.
"You just seemed upset. Are you sure?"
"I was just looking at my emails and Paul messaged me about maybe needing more time off because doctor's paperwork isn't looking too promising." he replied as he pulled her down on his lap and placed a small kiss on her lips.
"I know you hate being off this much, but I think it is a blessing in disguise because we've been able to get everything ready for the baby together." she said hugging his neck.
"You're right baby," he smirked, "What would I ever do without you."
"Work all the time and be unhappy." JoJo grinned kissing him on the cheek before heading out of the room.
Her words stung a little bit because that was probably true. He was unhappy in his life and to avoid everything he always worked. He was unhappy for his own selfish reasons though. He was unhappy because the kids took Aimee away all the time and she couldn't put her full focus on him. That thought scared him because what if he felt this way with JoJo and their child. He needed to grow up and do it fast or history was going to repeat itself.
