Yuno quietly finished packing his things at the Golden Dawn. After the battle with Lucius and Captain Fuegoleon Vermillion became the new Wizard King, Asta was given the option of either staying in the Black Bulls or lead his own squad, and Yuno was the new Captain of the Golden Dawn with his girlfriend Neva being his Vice Captain.

But one day, his birth mother Ciel came to him with a request. The people of her court were 'requesting' that she name an heir to the Spade Throne before she got any older and they decided who the heir would be. So she asked if he would consider leaving Clover, his friends, family, and squad, to go to Spade and become the next King.

Yuno had been taken aback by Ciel's request, and hadn't been sure how to answer her. So he asked for some time to think about it, and she granted it. For the past few weeks he had been going back and forth on what he should do, he talked to Asta, Captain Vangeance, and finally Neva.

" What does your gut say? Because I know your head and heart are saying different things." Neva said softly as she looked out the window thoughtfully.

Yuno rubbed the back of his head. His brain was telling him that it would make more sense for him to go to Spade and do some good there, while his heart was telling him to stay in Clover with everyone he cared about.

But his gut…his gut wasn't sure which way to go.

" I…don't know…" he admitted as he tried to think, Neva turned to look at him and gave him a small smile.

" I think you do, you just haven't realized it yet." Neva said as she patted him on the shoulder and walked away, leaving him alone with his thoughts.

He hadn't realized it at the time, but she was right, his gut already made its decision.

He would go to Spade and become King.

After Yuno made his decision, he told his birth mother and his squad. He watched as a wave of relief washed over Ciel's face, and a mixture of sadness and happiness washed over his friends and family. He turned to look at Neva's expression and his eyes widened a bit.

Her face was unreadable. She didn't look happy, or sad, or angry. It had been a long time since her face held an expression like this, and it was one of the many expressions that the two shared. It was like she put on a mask so no one could tell what she was thinking.

Over the next few weeks Yuno had named Neva his replacement as Captain and instructed her to choose a Vice Captain. But she wasn't as happy as he thought she would be. She didn't smile, she didn't say 'thank you', actually she didn't say a word during the announcement. She just nodded and walked away.

He told Asta and their family at the orphanage, which was met with many tears from the children and Father Orsi. He told Fuegoleon Vermillion, the new Wizard King, about his plans. Fuegoleon had said he was sad to see him go, but understood, and was looking forward to working with Spade in the future.

It had been very busy getting everything in order, but now all he needed to do was pack his things. He admittedly didn't have much, but he made sure he left nothing behind. Not the gifts his friends and family gave him, his photos and sketches, and his Golden Dawn uniform.

Yuno walked out of his room and shut the door quietly behind him. He walked around the Golden Dawn base one last time before he handed the last of his things to the Spatial mage Ciel had sent to help him.

" I'll meet you in Spade sir." The mage saluted before disappearing through a portal, Yuno nodded and continued to look around as the memories flooded his mind.

" We're going to Spade to do better and brighter things, right Yuno?" Belle asked as she appeared on his shoulder, the man in question nodded as he slowly made his way towards the roof of the base.

He had already said goodbye to everyone, except for one person: Neva.

Everytime Yuno tried to talk to her she would make an excuse and walk away. It was like that wall she had finally broken down came right back up again. It was like she was distancing herself from him again, and no matter how he tried to stop it, she kept getting farther and farther.

As he finally made it up to the roof he stopped in his tracks as he saw someone already standing there. When they slowly turned around he felt his heart fill with warmth.

It was Neva.

He walked over to her with a small smile on his face.

" You're here."

" I am. I thought…I thought that I should at least say goodbye before you left." Neva said softly, he nodded and came to stand beside her.

The two stood silently together as they stared at the vast blue sky. Both had so much to say, and both were too afraid to say them.

" I'm sorry, I know I've been distant lately." Neva began softly as she continued looking straight ahead. " It's just…it's hard…I finally have everything that I've always wanted and now I'm losing the most important thing…"'she turned to look at him.

" You."

Yuno turned to look at her, he saw the sad look in her lilac colored eyes as she looked at him.

" I've loved you, and lost you. I've loved you, and lost you. I've loved you, only to lose you again. It's like we're both in this vicious cycle of loving and losing each other and I…I hate it…" She told him as she quickly blinked the tears away. " I don't want to lose you again, but how can I keep that from happening when you're leaving and not asking me to come with you?"

Yuno felt a pang in his chest at her words, he had a reason for why he didn't ask her to come with him he went to open his mouth to explain himself but quickly closed it as Neva began to speak again.

" It hurt. And you and I both know how badly that kind of hurt hurts." Neva said softly, she knew she was being a hypocrite talking about how he was hurting her by leaving considering she had left him a few years ago. But right now she was hurt at the idea of losing him and felt that he deserved to know how she was feeling.

" I didn't ask you to come with me because I thought it wasn't fair of me to ask you. Do you remember what you said to me shortly after we met? That your dream was to become Captain of the Golden Dawn and you asked me to help you achieve that goal as long as I allowed you to help me become Wizard King. You finally achieved your dream of being Captain, who am I to ask you to give it up and follow me to another kingdom?" Yuno asked softly, and Neva sighed.

" Did you consider that my dream could've changed like yours? That maybe I was willing to leave it all behind? No. You just assumed instead of asking me."

" Well you weren't around long enough for me to ask you." Yuno said bluntly, his words colder than he intended, but Neva nodded.

" You're right…I'm sorry."

" I'm sorry too."

" We're excellent at communicating aren't we?" Neva asked sarcastically as she shook her head, and Yuno nodded in agreement.

The two fell back into silence for a few moments before Neva spoke again.

" The reason I stayed away was because I didn't want you and the others to see how much this was affecting me. I mean, imagine how your birth mother would react if she saw how upset I was at the thought of you leaving while she was picking brides for you." Neva muttered with a hollow laugh, Yuno could help but wince at her words.

Ciel had been talking about him marrying a Noble from Spade or a royal from another country, and every time Yuno tried to tell her he wasn't interested and already had someone she would end up getting distracted by something else. She hadn't meant any of this maliciously of course, she liked Neva, but both he and Neva quickly noticed that Ciel hadn't realized that they were more than friends.

Yuno had hoped Neva hadn't heard anything Ciel had said about finding him a wife. But apparently his hope was all in vain.

" Is this…how thing's end for us? We both go our separate paths, never to see each other again?" Neva asked softly, it was so quiet that Yuno nearly missed it. He looked from her to the sky.

" I…I don't know…" he admitted, his heart steadily feeling like it was breaking, and he could see on Neva's face that her's was doing the same.

" You should go, it's getting late." Neva said softly as she tried to put on a brave face. " You said you wanted to stop in Hage before going to Spade, so you need to get going."

All Yuno could do was nod. He walked over to the edge of the balcony, stepped onto the stone rail, and used his wind magic to wrap around himself so he could fly without his broom.

" Now I can have Yuno all to myself! Right, Yuno? Yuno?" Belle said happily before she noticed a strange look on his face, he only made it a small bit away from the Golden Dawn rooftop before he stopped.

Yuno was lost in thought. Sure it was hard saying goodbye to his squad, his friends, and family in Hage, but he was still able to do it. But Neva? Saying goodbye to her was impossible.

He couldn't, no, he wouldn't say goodbye to her.

This wasn't how their story ended.

" 6,329."

Neva frowned as Yuno suddenly shouted, 6,329? What was that supposed to mean?

" Do you remember when we first began dating? You asked me how many years you thought we could be together, and I didn't answer you. Well now I am. The answer is 6,329. That's how many years we'll be together. That's how many years I want to spend with you." Yuno announced as he turned around, moving a little closer to the balcony.

" I don't want to spend all that time with someone else. I want to spend it with the person who makes me smile all the time, the person who…who makes me believe in myself, who believed in me before anyone else did. The person pushes me to be an even better person. I want to spend my life with you, and only you, Neva Belmonte!"

" After I found you again, I made a promise to myself that I would never let you go again and I'm not going to break that promise." Yuno suddenly pulled something out of his pocket and held it out towards her, with a warm happy smile on his face.

" Marry me, Neva."

He was holding out a piece of string that he had tied to make it look like a ring. He watched as Neva had a surprised look on her face and he swore he saw her face turned a bright red. Suddenly she lowered her head and her face was hidden by her platinum blonde hair.

Yuno stood there, holding out the 'ring' towards her. She stood there, not moving, not saying a word just…standing there like she was deep in thought.

Suddenly, Neva raised her head. She had tears in her eyes and the brightest smile he had ever seen on her face. Without saying a word she ran towards him, stepped up onto the stone balcony rail, and used her momentum to push herself off the railing. Yuno's eyes widened as he watched Neva come flying towards him.

He held out his arms and was able to catch her. Without saying a word she gently wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him close, and gave him a sweet but passionate kiss. It caught him by surprise, but Yuno smiled and kissed her back.

" Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" Neva exclaimed happily as she pulled away and rested her forehead against his.

Yuno couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him at Neva words, her silence had him nervous for a minute. He held her tightly in his arms as the two floated together in the air.
