"Izumi."
Izumi looked up from where she'd been dozing on Uraraka's shoulder, "hmm?" she hummed, looking across the crowded bus to Tsuyu, who was staring back at her with bland eyes, "Yes?" she asked as their friends quieted down, wanting to hear Tsuyu's question; they had a few more minutes before they arrived at the training site and any kind of drama was welcome.
"I tend to speak my mind." she started, "and your quirk doesn't make any sense."
"The amount of times I've thought that while using it-" Izumi muttered under her breath, "energy manipulation influences a lot of things. Theoretically as long as I have the know-how, I can do it."
"So why the branch?" Mina piped up, making everyone look at her.
"It makes me look cool," Izumi said, "and I also have runes carved into it to make it reliable for focusing my quirk."
"How does that work?" Momo asked.
"Intent." she explained, now everyone was focused on her, even Todoroki, "by focusing my intent on what I want the runes to do, I can-for a lack of a better word-enchant objects to to do certain things."
"That's why you said your floating wasn't technically your quirk." Iida guessed, "you gave your staff the ability to make you float."
"And my clothing too." She bragged, showing them the inside of her cloak, runes stitched delicately into the border. "Took me years, but I got it just right."
"You made these yourself!?" Kaminari exclaimed in shock.
"No way!"
Izumi grinned at the surprised exclamations, "yes way, it was a lesson in fine control, these are tear resistant, heat resistant, keeps me cool in a fight, and shields me from minor attacks.'
"Wow, you must have really had to train hard." Uraraka sympathized, making Izumi smile and take her hand.
"Your quirk is definitely flashy Midoriya!" Kirishima cheered, "you'll have no problem getting scouted!"
"You wanna talk about flashy quirks, you should talk about Todoroki and Bakugo." Sato pointed out.
"Yeah but Todoroki doesn't know how to play nice, and Bakugo's abrasive attitude means not many people will like him."
"YOU WANNA START SOMETHING FROGGER!?" Bakugo snarled.
"See what I mean?" She deadpanned, making everyone laugh.
"Enough! We're here." Aizawa called, making everyone quiet as they pulled up to a gigantic domed building.
"Holy shit its Universal Studios!" Kaminari exclaimed as they walked in, earning a slap upside the head from Jirou.
"Idiot." she grumbled.
"This is the Unforeseen Simulations Joint!" a new voice called, making Uraraka perk up.
"Oh my GOD IT'S THIRTEEN!" Uraraka squealed as her favorite hero walked up to them with Hermit at his side, All-Might posing behind them "she's a rescue hero who specializes in disasters!"
"That's right!" Thirteen threw a peace sign, "I created this place from the ground up so you can all train in different disaster zones! It's the USJ for short!"
"So universal studios." Izumi confirmed, grunting a bit when Uraraka nudged her, still staring with starlight at her hero.
"We'll be running through all of the zones today." Hermit said, "with four of us here, we'll be splitting up into four groups in a rotating position-"
"-but first! I have a word or two, maybe three, four?" Thirteen rambled a bit.
Hermit stepped back to allow Thirteen to speak, while All-MIght leaned over, "why didn't you send him flying for interrupting?" he asked.
"Because I actually like him." he quipped. Listening with half an ear as Thirteen talked about the dangers of their quirks. He was distracted thinking about what had happened earlier that morning, the break in. what could have been strong enough to walk through his wards without setting them off? And why would they set them off while leaving if not to gain his attention?
Perhaps they should've rescheduled this, or maybe moved it to a different location, or maybe-
-His wards were gone.
Hermit perked up as he slowly walked away from the group, his eyes narrowing as the lights flickered, "get the children out." he ordered. His hard, stern voice caught everyone's attention as he flicked his wand into his hand with well practiced ease.
"Hermit?" All-Might questioned.
"Go!" He ordered again.
The light's flickered once more, this time the sound of hundreds of feet had the teachers running to the edge of the staircase, overlooking the courtyard where hundreds of villains were slowly emerging from a giant portal. The final departures being a giant dark purple beast with an exposed brain and a beaked mouth, and a man with hands covering his body.
"Oh, lookie here, All-Might." the hand-man sneered, "it appears our raid will be successful today."
"Everyone back to the buses!" Aizawa ordered, "Thirteen! Protect the kids."
"Go with them Eraser, All-MIght and I can handle this." Hermit ordered, striding forward as the villains began charging up the stairs.
Aizawa nodded and began ushering the children away. His eyes widening as suddenly a portal opened beneath their feets.
"Apologies, but I cannot let you run!"
"Me first! TEXAS-" All-Might rumbled as he shot forward, ready to deal a devastating attack on the gathered villains.'
"Nomu."
"SMASH!"
The attack, which was known to clear whole streets, was almost immediately absorbed as the Beaked monstrosity now known as Nomu seemingly teleported in front of All-MIght, it's thick body barely shaking from the hit.
"Meet Nomu," the hand man called, "bio-engineered to destroy the Symbol of Peace. Nomu, Kill!"
Nomu shrieked as its fist shot forward, slamming into All-Might's crossed arms and sending him sliding back across the atrium.
"That's not good," Hermit muttered as the villains kept running up the stairs, a flick of his wand had the steps disappearing and the villains sliding back down with cries of surprise. "Somnus." he breathed into the air, making the few that had gotten back up almost immediately double over, unconscious.
"Zajar!"
Hermit blocked the heated flames with the sleeve of his dragonhide coat, flicking the embers away as he glared furiously down at the Orc Witch Doctor stomping forward.
"Forgive me Brightstar." the large man growled, his hands coming up bathed in red light, transparent silver chains crossed his back and neck flickering in and out of being with every movement, "but I cannot disobey, Vras!" a bolt of red light shot out at Hermit, who batted it to the ground with a quick wave of his wand.
"Galad!" Hermit roared out, a bright bolt of white light slamming into the witchdoctor and sending him sprawling as Hermit advanced.
Meanwhile Aizawa kept his eyes trained on the teleporter who had just put himself between them and the exit, the smokey swirls of his body expanding to effectively block them.
"Good evening," the man said in a deep, droning voice, "we are the league of villains, we apologize for the interruption but our job-" he was stopped as Kirishima and Bakugo shot forward, an explosion covering the villain.
"Bakugo! Kirishima! Fall back!" Izumi demanded as second before a beam of light slammed into her side, sending her crashing back into a pillar.
"Izumi!" Thirteen shouted out momentarily distracted from the villain as another one appeared beside him, dressed in a baggy red sweater and blue jeans, a black metal staff in his hand with a red crystal in its head.
"Can't have the little enchantress stepping in, now can we?" he taunted, pushing his hood off to reveal gray hair, "Kurogiri, do your thing."
"Right." The misty villain droned, none the worse for wear from Bakugo's attack. And the two boys in the way blocking Aizawa's quirk, "I do have a job to do, BEGONE!"
Izumi groaned as she sat up. Eyes widening when she saw the shadowy dome surrounding her classmates, "Esrepsid!" she exclaimed as she leveled her staff, immediately the smoke dispersed, revealing only a handful of her class and thirteen, "NO!"
"Don't worry about them, Star-Eyes." the boy taunted, floating into the air as Izumi gripped her staff, "you should be worried about me!" red lightning shot out of the crystal, slamming into Izumi and sending her flying back across the USJ.
"Izumi!" Uraraka cried in worry as she watched her girlfriend fall, the villainous boy right behind her, "We have to help her!"
"We have bigger fish to fry at the moment!" Thirteen said to her, "Keep your head in the game!"
Meanwhile Izumi was pulling herself out of a crater in the concrete beside the Ruins Zone, glaring at the wizard that landed in front of her, "Marcus." she growled low.
"Ah,Ah, Ah, Star-eyes." he taunted with a wag of his finger, "can't be giving away secret identities like that!" He leveled his staff as Izumi tried to blast him with a powerful lightning attack, the red crystal easily absorbing it and blasting her point blank and sending her tumbling across the atrium once more, "call me Murdoc."
"You're not even a Mage!" she spat as she got to her feet and flew back at him, blasts of pure magic streaking towards the boy, who lazily batted them away.
"It's amazing what Demons can do to boost your power!" he cackled, this time black lightning flew from the staff, forcing Izumi to erect a shield around her, grunting as the force of the attack sent spiderwebs throughout the conjuration. "You're not top disciple anymore Star-Eyes! This facility will be your tomb!"
"RED GAUNTLET!"
Murdoc cried out in pain as Kirishima shot out of nowhere, slamming his fist into the boys chin, sending him flying back into Bakugo, who's malicious grin was only highlighted by the mini explosions crackling in his palm, "I know I say this far too much." he drawled, putting his hand on the boys chest, "but fucking DIE!"
The explosion sent the boy streaking away towards the center, allowing Izumi to collapse to her knees, breathing heavily, "Thanks you guys, how'd you get here?" she asked shakily.
"That warp bastard threw us into the ruins." Bakugo grunted, motioning towards the now smoldering ruins, "we ran into some villains and torched them! Then saw you fighting this asshole, figured we'd come help. "
"Great…great…" Izumi huffed, getting to her feet, "We need to get to the doors, if he's here then there's a chance they warded the exits."
"Who was that guy anyways?" Kirishima asked, looking around worriedly.
"Marcus LeBou," Izumi said, clutching her staff as she saw Murdoc get back up, snarling and snapping at the few villains that tried to help him up, "he was an Acolyte of one of Hermit's friends…we haven't heard from them for years, thought they were dead."
"Obviously the fuck not." Bakugo muttered, hands flexing as Murdoc started to float, dark red miasma lashing and whirling around him. "We'll take him together."
"No, Bakugo get back to the others." Izumi ordered as she pulled a fist sized stone from her pocket, with a flash of light it began to glow green, revealing runes etched over it's surface, "this runestone should disrupt any wards at the exit; you're the fastest, get there and save our friends."
"And what about you?"
"I'm gonna show him why dealing with Demons is fucking stupid." she growled, gripping her staff with both hands as Marcus shot towards her, she slammed the end into the ground and shouted "PURIFY!" immediately a blue glow filled the air and Marcus screamed as steam rolled off his body, sending him tumbling across the concrete, "GO!" she ordered.
Bakugo blinked, then gave a feral grin, "Don't die Zumi!" he laughed, blasting off into the air.
"You…you…bitch…" Marcus spat out, forcing himself to his feet even as his skin boiled, "who the fuck do you think you are?"
"Someone who can use holy magic on a shitstain wannabe demon." she retorted, leveling her staff, "Sanctus!"
The pure white beam slammed into Marcus' chest, once again sending him back, before he could get his feet back under him Kirishima was there once more, red lightning crackling on his fist. The punch was barely stopped by a red shield of energy that almost immediately shattered, sending both skidding back.
"Damn it, I thought I had him!" Kirishima grumbled, shaking the numbness out of his fist, five percent is still too much!
"Go help Bakugo." Izumi ordered.
"No, half your magic doesn't work on this guy! So let me help!" Kirishima argued, "isn't that what this partnership is all about?"
Izumi stared at him for a second, then grinned, "alright, lets get him."
"Isn't that sweet, you finally have friends." Murdoc taunted. His skin appearing red and burnt on the left side as he tapped his staff into the ground, a fiery crack split the concrete, and a clawed hand burst forth, soon three demons were standing in front of him, their gnarled horns covered in blood and their beady yellow eyes glaring at the mage and her friend, "Star-eyes." one hissed, prompting the other two to join, the shadowy smoke that enveloped them starting to increase activity around them.
"Let's see how you and your little pet can handle three greater shadow demons! KILL THEM!"
Izumi lept back as Kirishima rushed forward, sending a demon flying back with a powerful uppercut before his entire body hardened to tank a powerful flame attack, "These guys ain't a joke!" Kirishima grunted as he fell back to Izumi's side, staring at his slightly burnt forearm. Grimacing as the demon he punched away seemed to warp back to its friends side "five percent isn't cutting it. But I can't risk going higher."
Izumi took a deep breath and focused, "vardi un ramr pömnuria fricai un heill." she spoke as she waved her staff over Kirishima, who glowed red momentarily before he seemed to explode with power.
"What…what did you do?" Kirishima whispered in awe as he pumped One For All through his system, grinning when red lightning began to dance across him with barely any pain.
"A spell to strengthen and heal you while you fight." Izumi said, static building up in her hands while she stared at Murdoc, "you'll have to take on the demons by yourself, I need to stop Murdoc."
"You take care of that creep! I got this!" Kirishima shouted, shooting forward once more, rolling under one of the demon's claws to send a straight punch into another's stomach "RED GAUNTLET!" He roared as the punch connected and sent the thing shooting away, slamming into the side of the USJ and dissipating completely, that…was more than 20% "come on then!" Kirishima shouted as he attacked the other two demons, these two much more prepared to trade blows with the powerful child.
Meanwhile Izumi launched herself into the sky, Murdoc meeting her halfway as they blasted each other point blank with pure magic, Izumi's being absorbed for the most part by the red stone. They blasted apart and attacked again, this time Murdoc waving his hand through the air, " Eldrvari!" he roared, sending burning flames flying towards Izumi,
"Adurna!" Izumi intoned, conjuring water to meet the attack, steam billowing around her.
"Kverst!"
Izumi barrel rolled out of the way of several bands of magical energy, each one cutting deep into the surrounding buildings as she popped back up, hands spread wide.
"Jierda!" she spat, several beams of power streaking out towards Murdoc, who held his staff in front of him, each blast breaking against an invisible shield that showed no signs of giving.
"Drepa." Murdoc spat in Orcish, an acrid yellow streak flying straight for Izumi, who was able to bend backwards and avoid it by a single hair that burned upon contact, she exploded into the sky as the spell followed her, tumbling and diving through the air to dodge it before she double backed and shot straight for Murdoc, who was forced to tank his own spell, which shattered his shield, "Eldhrimner!"
The shouted incantation sent nearby foliage into a frenzy, vines and branches suddenly flying out to wrap around Murdoc, anchoring him in place as Izumi shot towards him once more, her palm connecting with his forehead as she shouted, "PURIFY!"
Murdoc screamed as blue once again enveloped his visage, down below the summoned demons shrieked in pain as their skin began to blacken and smoke, giving Kirishima the chance to shatter both with a powerful punch, the remnants of their bodies slowly descending into the ground, "Izumi! They're down!" Kirishima shouted.
"Malthinae." Izumi growled, strengthening the plants that kept Murdoc pinned, "you always neglected your magical combat, Marcus."
"Do you think this is the extent of my power?" he hissed, looking up at her, one of his brown eyes turning red as a horn poked out from his left temple, "You have no idea what power is behind me."
Before Izumi could retort, a powerful shockwave sent her tumbling through the air. As well as sending Kirishima flying back into the ruins.
Murdoc cackled as his staff seemed to float up on it's own, slicing through the plant life and landing itself directly into Murdoc's palm, "eriecp!" he snarled, a bolt of blue magic flying through the air faster than Izumi could see, piercing her through the shoulder.
"Izumi!" Kirishima shouted, jumping to his feet and instantly hardening as Murdoc blasted him with pure magic, shattering the ground beneath him.
"That's my cue, sadly," Marcus sneered as his shadow elongated and began to absorb him, "have fun, Star Eyes."
Izumi shot forward, firing off a beam of light magic at the shadow, only to snarl when the shadow disappeared, leaving a scorch mark where her spell had missed, "damn it!" she swore, falling to her knees and clutching her injured shoulder.
"Izumi! Are you alright!?" Kirishima cried, running towards her.
"I'm fine…"Izumi said shakily, putting her hand on the wound and healing it as best as she could, shivering as an unknown power washed over her, "Somethings happening…something bad…we need to get to the center of the USJ, NOW!"

"Run Iida!" Uraraka shouted as she threw Kurogiri high into the air, Sero and Sato teaming up together to send him flying even further as Iida ran full sprint towards the doors, forcing them open and trying to run through, only to be shot back by an invisible barrier, unfamiliar writing appearing in the air for a few seconds before disappearing.
"What the hell was that!" Mina cried out from where she was tending Thirteen.
"Some…kind of…invisible barrier.' Iida gasped as he scrambled to his feet, carefully reaching out with his hand until he touched a smooth, almost liquid surface, that same writing appearing once more, "what is this?"
BOOM!*
"OI SHITHEADS YOU ALIVE!?" Bakugo snapped as he landed right beside Uraraka, who let out a slight squeak as he did so.
"Bakugo! Izumi is-" Uraraka began, but Bakgo cut her off as he strode forward, holding up a glowing green rock.
'Izumi can take care of herself Round Cheeks." Bakugo snapped, "she sent me with this."
"What is-" they stopped as Bakugo threw it at the opening, everyone flinched and tried to cover themselves, expecting the rock to rebound like Iida did, instead a flash of green light blinded everyone for a second.
"What was…" Iida began as his sight returned, eyes widening as the writing he had seen slowly began to disintegrate until nothing was there.
"What are you waiting for Goggles! Get going!" Bakugo barked, "we need reinforcements!"
Iida looked at Bakugo, then back to the seemingly empty gate.
"GO DAMN IT! Bakugo snapped, grabbing Iida by the scruff and throwing him through the gate.
"Wait-" Iida started, gasping when he was able to pass through, not wanting to waste the opportunity his engines began to heat, "Max OVERDRIVE!" He cried out, exploding down the lane and streaking away, tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, "I PROMISE I'LL BRING BACK HELP!"
Bakugo huffed, "about damn time." he muttered, running back towards the stairs, Uraraka following.
"Have you seen Izumi?" she demanded to know.
"She's fighting that Gray haired bitch." Bakugo growled, eyes scanning the USJ until he caught the sight of flashes of multi-colored light in the distance, "I'm gonna head back before-' he stopped as an explosive shockwave sent everyone tumbling over.
"Guy's!" Shoji called, being the first one back to his feet with a tentacled eye extended, "It's All-Might!"

A few moments before.
Hermit hated fighting his friends.
They knew him too well and knew what spells to use to trip him up and kill him, which is why he was grateful this particular friend was trying to kill him against his will. He was avoiding using the worst of spells.
But that didn't make it easy.
"I must admit hermit." the Orc grunted as he strode towards his heavily breathing friend, the mage was forced to stand amidst half melted concrete and broken spires of rock, "I've always wondered who'd win in a fight between us."
"Don't think I've ever thought about it." he rasped, sparing a glance at All-MIght as he continued to fight the Nomu, his punches doing nothing against the thing and their fight starting to buffet the entire building with artificial winds. "And hopefully when I get those chains off of you, you won't try and kill me afterwards."
The Orc gave a bitter laugh, "not much can break these chains, Brightstar, and sadly, I am tasked with breaking you." he slammed his hand together, creating an explosion of purple energy that knocked Hermit on his back, "Baj ul Tok Zahar, dijak ul fo!" he roared as he slammed his palms into the ground.
The ground, as it had so many times before, seemed to melt around Hermit, turning a bright orange as the concrete superheated and surged towards hermit.
"Vardi Edtha!" Hermit thundered, a sphere of water rushing towards him from the nearby fountain, a hissing filled the air as the rock rapidly cooled, filling the air with steam. "stál malthinae!"
A rumbling was heard as the ground beneath the Orc cracked and splintered, allowing long tendrils of rebar to shoot out and wrap around him. Binding him tightly.
As the steam disappeared, it revealed a half shell of concrete wrapped around Hermit's exhausted figure, he stepped around it, cautiously approaching his struggling comrade-enemy, "Easy now Mahk." Hermit warned, flinching at every explosive punch from All-Might and the Nomu, "I don't want to hurt you."
"Neither do I brightstar, but I have no choice!" his body began to glow once more, "Logah agh Inras!"
Faster than Hermit could react, the coils of rebar suddenly straightened and fired at him, he was able to deflect a few, but two of the sharpened pieces of metal shot through his side and shoulder, making him stumble back a bit as blood splattered the ground, he tried to raise his arm but instead fell to the ground, his wand clattering on the now cold floor.
"Forgive me, my friend." Mahk said sadly, approaching the downed man, holding his hand out and summoning his own staff, the white bone clattering from the added trinkets around its head, an ominous red glow bathing the area.
"HERMIT!" All-Might roared, shooting towards his friend, only to be blocked by Nomu.
"No interrupting All-Might!" Shigaraki laughed, "it's time for the vagabond to die."
The Orc raised his staff high into the air, "I do this, against my will." he muttered, "and I pray that Gruumsh forgives."
"...he will." Hermit whispered, suddenly lunging forward, both hands slamming into Mahk's chest, "LOSNA!" Hermit shouted, a pure white energy charging up in his hands before exploding, sending both flying back, Mahk roared in pain as the chains around him shattered as he crashed into the stairs, Hermit tumbling to a stop by the fountain, unmoving.
"HERMIT!" All-Might Cried, an overpowered punch sending Nomu skidding back as he ran to his friend, cradling him in his arms.
"Don't…let your guard down…toshinori…' Hermit breathed out, his head lolling back as he slipped into unconsciousness.
"No….NO!" All-Might screamed, slamming a fist into the ground, shattering it and anything around him for a few meters.
"Oh how the mighty have fallen…Nomu, Kill.'
All-Might let out a strangled cry as the Nomu finally got a clean punch in, sending All-Might crashing into the side of the USJ.
"Your end is nigh All-Might, your allies will be killed, your students slaughtered, and we will show the world that the symbol of peace is a fake!" Shigaraki cackled as the Nomu roared.
"You think…that a hit like that would put me out of commission?" All-Might roared, exploding out of his crater and slamming into the Nomu, locking it in a pushing match, "I'll go beyond what i'm capable of to defeat you! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT IT MEANS TO GO BEYOND!" All-Might reared a fist back, static yellow arcs sparking off his fist as it shot forward, "PLUS-ULTRA!"
With an explosive BOOM! The Nomu was sent flying high with streaks of electricity arcing off its body as it was sent flying into the sky, smashing through the ceiling and continuing on. Leaving All-might standing alone, fist raised in triumph.
"Nomu?" Shigaraki questioned in shock before the shockwave of the punch bowled him over.
"Now Villains." All-Might growled, taking a few steps forward as steam seemed to roll off his body, static jumping across his visage as he took a strong stance. "You will meet Justice."
"Is that so All-Might?"
The deep voice was all the warning All-Might had before a fist was shooting through his wounded side, blood spewing out of his mouth as it did so.
"Did you truly think it would be this easy when Magic was involved?"
All-Might glanced back, surprised to find Nomu standing behind him, only its form had changed.
Now spiky bones protrude from its back as flames began to lick it's outline, it's dead eyes gaining focus and turning a pitch black as the injuries it sustained healed, "we have been planning for eons, All-Might, nudging the hands of fate into this singular moment."
With a squelch the fist was pulled from All-Might's body, making him fall to his knees as he covered the wound.
"This body is only temporary, this form, but fleeting." Nomu sneered in a condescending pomp, "but it will serve well for my declaration of war."
'You…you're a demon…" All-Might gasped out, coughing up blood as he spoke, "Morgoth?"
Nomu let out a deep bellied laugh that filled the USJ, "Morgoth wishes he had the power I did." Nomu sneered, hauling All-Might up by his throat and staring deep into his eyes, "I am Asmodeus, and I am here to proclaim the rise of Hell!"
