A Matter Of Trust-Ch 32
Erin and Chad looked around as both teams walked into the room and headed over to the table to have a seat, Derek made sure that his baby girl was comfortable before sitting down beside her happily. Penelope leaned in and said, "anybody got any idea what's going on?", everybody shook their heads no and Dave said, "with Erin anything is possible kitten", she laughed and said, "so true papa bear, so true".
Chad walked over and said, "alright, it's time to start this meeting", Mick said, "what's happening, are we being called away on a joint case or something?", Erin said, "something like that Agent Rawson. something like that". Everybody turned their attention to Chad as he said, "we were both called into a meeting with the director first thing this morning and we have something that we" he motioned between himself and Strauss "we have something that we need to tell you".
Hotch said, "something tells me that I already know what it is you have to tell us", Strauss said, "and what do you think it is that the director has ordered Agent Hotchner", Aaron sat back in his seat and said, "joining both teams together, permanently". Chad looked at Erin and then at Hotch and said, "you're very good Agent and you would be correct also", Mick said, "soooo we're being moved here to Virginia to join with the BAU permanently?", Strauss nodded her head yes and said, "that is correct".
Ron said, "when does this start?", Chad said, "it is effective as of now", Tim said, "so we're moving here to Virginia?", Erin said, "'correct, you will all be permanently stationed here with Aaron and his team to form one team". Penelope grinned and said, "I think that's awesome news", Derek said, "you do?", she said, "yes, that way I can have the best of both worlds, I can have both of my teams together as one".
Rick said, "how is this going to work exactly, who's going to be our boss?", Erin looked at Chad and then at Aaron and said, "Aaron and Chad are in command, you answer to them, they answer to me and I answer to the director". Nick said, "so Hotch and Chad are equal in authority?", Erin nodded her head and said, "they are and that's coming down from the director so if you want to complain I suggest that you go to him".
Nick said, "no I don't have a problem with it at all, I'm looking forward to living her and getting to spend time with Penelope", Derek said, "uhhhh, excuse me", Penelope put her hand on his and said, "easy hotstuff, he's my friend". Nick said, "I'm her friend and I don't want to see her hurt again", he leaned forward and said, "ya got me Morgan, if you hurt her I'll end you", Mick said, "ditto", several over people said, "dittooooooo" causing Derek to raise his hands in defeat.
Penelope laughed and said, "come on guys, take it easy on hotstuff, he's trying, I mean he's already apologized to me and we're going to try again sooooooo just give him a chance", Mick looked at his friends and then smiled and then Mick said, "okay Penelope, we'll give him a chance but only for you", she giggled and said, "thank you", JJ said, "don't screw it up this time Morgan, we're profilers remember, you hurt her again they won't find a body".
Derek swallowed hard and said, "easyyyyyyy there Jayje, easyyyyy", Reid laughed and JJ said, "what are you laughing about Spence?", Reid said, "he's trying to calm you down like you're a spooked horse", causing everybody to laugh. Erin said, "I'm not really sure what's going on here but", Dave interrupted her by saying, "long story short, Derek and Penelope were together and then Lynch and an associate of his broke them up".
Strauss listened as Dave continued by saying, "but since she's back now and knows the truth she's decided to give him another chance at a life together", Erin looked at Penelope and Derek and smiled and said, "well I wish the two of you the best of luck". Ron said, "them being together isn't against the rules, right?", Strauss said, "no, she's an analyst and Morgan is an Agent so their is nothing wrong with them being together".
Dave said, "well Aaron and Em are married and so are JJ and Reid sooooooo if something was wrong with kitten and Morgan being together thennnnn", Strauss smiled and said, "their is nothing wrong with them being together". She looked at Derek and Penelope and said, "as long as your jobs don't suffer, ya got me?", Derek and Penelope looked at each other and then at Strauss and nodded their heads yes and said, "yes mam" in unison.
A few minutes later the meeting ended, the rest of the time was spent on Chad talking to Mick and the others about the stuff that they wanted to bring to Virginia because they would be heading home tomorrow to pack their things so that they could come back in a few days and start work
As everybody piled out Penelope said, "alright, who's ready to eattttt?", Derek laughed and said, "let's go momma, let's get some food in you and our little one", Mick and the others stood back watching and smiling as Derek and Penelope walked away. Tim said, "ya think this time he's gonna be alright?", Mick smiled and said, "for his sake he better or else", the other men all grinned at him and nodded their heads yes in agreement as they ran to catch up with the others so they could head out for lunch.
