For the next hour Penelope, Derek and the others enjoyed a delicious meal, they laughed and talked but all to soon it was time for them all to head back to the BAU for a few hours before they were to call it a day. When they arrived back at work Dave walked over to them and looked at Mick and said, "how about when you guys get back you come have dinner with us?", Mick said, "us?", Dave laughed and said, "yeah, me, my wife which happens to be Derek's mom Fran and her two daughters Sarah and Desi will be there and of course the rest of the team will be there too".
Mick looked at his team mates and they all nodded their heads yes so he sighed and said, "sure Dave, that sounds like fun, we'd love to have dinner with you and your family when we get back". Dave said, "good, good", he then leaned in and said, "so how did Morgan do, are he and kitten still trying?", Mick smiled and said, "yeah and so far so good, I just hope that he doesn't stick his foot in his mouth while we're gone and hurt her again"./
Ron said, "he knows what he'll get if he hurts her again so something tells me that he'll be on his best behavior", they all then started laughing and were laughing so hard that they could hardly breathe. Derek walked by and said, "what are all of you laughing about?", Tim said, "private joke, you wouldn't understand" and that only made the men laugh even harder, Derek shook his head and said, "well alright then" as he walked away.
Mick said, "ohhhh I do believe this is going to be fun", Dave smiled and said, "I'm going to enjoy having you gentlemen here", Rick said, "and we're going to enjoy being here Dave, it just might take a little getting use to". Nick said, "sooooo you mentioned your step-daughters, what are they like?", Mick laughed and said, "what he means is are they both single?", Dave said, "yep, they are both free as birds but I've got to warn you Derek won't be tooooooooo, well he won't want his sisters going out with agents"
Tim said, "uhhh why, he's an agent and he's with Penelope", Dave said, "the girls are old enough to make their own decisions sooooo if once you meet them you want to see what the future might bring then by all means you'll have my support butttt that's only as long as you treat them the way they deserve to be treated and by judging the way you all care about kitten I don't foresee any problems in that department".
Chad walked over and said, "Mick, I need to run something by you guys", he said, "okay", he then thanked Dave again for the invite for dinner before they all followed Chad across the room and disappeared around the corner. Reid looked at Derek and said, "soooo how was lunch?", Derek said, "it was good pretty boy, it felt amazing being with baby girl again, I didn't realize just how much I had missed her until I was with her again today".
Emily smiled at her friend and said, "well then maybe this will give you the incentive to not stick your foot in your mouth again and hurt her because if you do I won't have any problems inserting my foot up your as" and Derek said, "I get it Em, I get it and I promise you that I won't, I won't hurt baby girl ever again I promise".
JJ said, "we're gonna hold you to that promise", Derek said, "good, I expect you too", Reid said, "soooo you and Garcia got any plans for tonight?", Derek said, "as a matter of fact we are having a movie night at my place". Emily said, "this time let her set the pace, don't go off head long like you did before", Derek said, "I won't, I won't, we'll take things slow and easy because I don't want to lose her not now, not after everything we're doing to work things out".
Dave said, "that's good to hear son", he then said, "ohhh before I forget I've invited Mick and the others over for a family dinner after they get back sooooo I expect you all to be there", everybody looked at each other and then at Dave and nodded their heads yes in agreement before Dave walked away.
JJ looked at Penelope and said, "so what does Fran think about having a grandbaby?", Penelope covered her mouth with her hand and said, "ohhhh I didn't tell her", she looked at Derek and said, "did you tell her?", Derek said, "welllllll no, I was more worried about getting to spend time with you, maybe Dave told her".
Dave looked up and said, "are you talking about me kitten?", she said, "did you tell Fran about the baby?", he said, "I did and she was so thrilled but she wanted to know why nobody had told her yet but I calmed her down by telling her that you were busy trying to make up with Penelope and then she was fine when she found that out".
Derek sighed and said, "good, because if their is one thing I don't want it's momma or baby girl mad at me", Penelope smiled and said, "on that note I'm heading back to my lair", she kissed him on the cheek and said, "I'll see you later hotstuff". He touched his cheek and said, "ohhhh that you will gorgeous, that you will, he then stood watching her but sway from side to side as she walked away, Dave slapped him in the back of my head and said, "hey that's my daughter you're gawking at".
Derek rubbed the back of his head and said, "and if I'm lucky soon she'll be my wife", he then stuck out his tongue and said, "so thereeeeee" as he walked away leaving behind him laughing team mates.
