A Matter Of Trust-Ch 34
The rest of the day flew by and soon everybody was grabbing their things and heading home, Penelope smiled when she saw Derek standing in the doorway of her lair, she said, "to what do I owe this visit tall, dark and sexy?", Derek laughed and said, "I just came to walk my girl to her car that's all sweetness" as he started making his way across the room to her.
He held out his hand and gave her his famous Derek Morgan smile as her hand slid into his and he helped her up out of her seat, she said, "is their anything that you want me to bring to our movie night?", he said, "nothing but your sexy self baby girl". She sighed happily and said, "now that I can do", he rested his forehead against hers and said, "I want to thank you again for giving me another chance, this time I won't let you down".
She ran her finger up and down his chest and said, "I'll hold you to that angel fish", he leaned in then and brushed his lips against hers and said, "I hope you do baby girl, I reallllly hope you do" before they turned and walked out of her office and headed up the corridor toward the elevator to join the others.
Mick said, "Penelope, we're heading out early in the morning to go get our stuff but we'll see you when we get back okay?", Penelope hugged Mick and the others and said, "okay and please be safe". The men all smiled and nodded their heads yes and said in unison, "we will" causing her to smile and point her finger at them and say, "you better because you don't want this oracle mad at you", Tim said, "trust me when I say that the last thing any of us want is for you to be mad at us Penelope" as they stepped onto the elevator.
Down in the parking garage Chad and the others loaded into their SUV's and waved as they drove by Penelope, she sighed and said, "I'm gonna miss them", Derek wrapped his arms gently around her and said, "they'll be back in a few days but until then you've always got me ya know?", she turned in his arms and said, "that I do sugar, that I do" as she pulled him down into a kiss.
When they pulled apart he said, "be careful going back to your place", she said, "always handsome, always", he stood watching as she got into her car, put her key into the ignition, started her car and pulled away. He couldn't help but smile and send up a silent prayer of thanks that his baby girl had agreed to give him another chance, a chance that he never thought he would get but now that he had it he was never gonna do anything to risk losing it or her again.
A couple of hours later Derek was all smiles as he walked across the living room to answer his front door, he opened it to see a very beautiful Penelope Garcia standing there in front of him, he said, "don't you look amazing sweetness". She looked down and said, "in this, it's just some comfortable sweats and shirt handsome, nothing to write home about butttt since you think I look good, I thank you" as she leaned in and kissed his cheek as she walked by.
Derek shut and locked the door before following her across the room, she said, "it feels like forever since I've been here", Derek said, "and I've missed you each and every day sweetheart" as he sat down beside her on the couch. She looked down at all of the goodies on the table in front of her and said, "ohhhhh everything looks amazing, thank you for this", he said, "no thank you baby girl, thank you for coming and spending some time with me".
Over the next few minutes they fell into comfortable conversation and then they decided together on what movie to watch first and of course it was one of her favorite Madea movies, she had always loved them and he loved seeing how much enjoyment she got when she watched them.
While they watched movie after movie they laughed, ate and talked and before the third movie was half over she was sleeping peacefully with her head laying on his shoulder, he gently laid her head back against the couch as he stood up. Derek then stopped the movie and turned off the tv before picking her up and carrying her bridal style toward the stairs, as he took each stair he couldn't help but look at the beautiful woman that was sleeping peacefully in his arms.
When he stepped into his bedroom, he laid her down on top of the covers before walking over and getting another blanket out of the closet, he then covered her up before toeing off his shoes. He then slid in behind her and gently wrapped his arms around her and snuggled close, ohhh how he'd missed this and for so long he was afraid that he would never get this chance again but thankfully Penelope was giving him the shot that he wanted and he knew that this time if he blew it he would lose the love of his life and the best thing that had ever happened to him.
A few minutes later the room was filled with the sound of soft snores coming from Derek and Penelope as they fell into a deep sleep wrapped in each others arms, a place where they were destined to be now and forever.
