A Matter Of Trust-Ch 39
Over the next few hours Penelope did search after search trying to find something that would help her team and nothing she tried was working so she pushed her chair back from her computer and blew out a deep breath. She looked at the screen and then closed her eyes and said, "think Penelope think, their is something there you just have to think of a way to get to it", she rubbed her temples and then slid her hand down to her stomach as another dull pain shot from her stomach around to her lower back.
he opened her eyes and said, "wait a minute, all of the women were kidnapped getting out of their cars after returning home from their jobs", she pulled herself back up to her computer and pulled up a list of all of the victims jobs. She then found out how close they were in vicinity to each other, she grinned and said, "you're all within a 2 mile radius of each other", she then tapped her chin and said, "let me see if it's the same for your jobs too".
Penelope hit a few keys on the keyboard and said, "yes, yes it is", as she sat there she had remembered that all of them had been pulled over by the police and given a courtesy warning and told to slow down. She said, "'let's see if any of them were pulled over by the same officer", she pulled up their records again and pulled up each individual report and saw that they all were indeed pulled over by the same officer.
She put her phone and speaker and hit 1 on the phone, she sat back in her seat and waited on somebody to answer and after a couple of rings Hotch said, "you're on speaker Garcia", Penelope said ."sir, I think I know who your unsub is", Reid said, "who do you think it is Garcia?", Penelope said, "I did deep dive after deep dive trying to find something, anything that might help you but I kept drawing a blank".
The team kept listening as she filled them in on the stuff she'd found out about them all being within the same 2 mile radius, she then said, "I remembered that they were all pulled over and given a courtesy warning and were told to slow down". JJ said, "did you check to see if?", Penelope said, "already done sweet cheeks and yes, yes they were all pulled over by the same man, all by the same officer and his name is", she hit a few keys and pulled up a picture of him and said, "Damian Seepe, he's been an officer on the force for almost 2 years and has been disciplined for being to forceful with women that he's pulled over".
Derek said, "any idea where he is right now sweetness?", Penelope smiled as she hit a few keys and said, "he's still on duty, he's in the police station, he just reported back from another traffic stop a few blocks away from the police station". Derek said, "you are the light of my life sweet lady", she laughed and said, "and don't you ever forget it handsome", he said, "never angel, never", before the call ended she said, "be careful heroes", she heard everybody in unison say, "always".
She then sat back in her seat and started rubbing her baby bump, she said, "welllll let's just hope that your daddy, grandpa, aunts and uncles are able to catch that sick freak and come home to us tonight, huh munchkin". A few seconds later she winced in pain as a sharp pain ran from her stomach all the way around to her back, she said, "ohhhhhh, what's going on, this has been happening all day, at first it was a dull pain but now it's a sharp pain".
Just as it was starting to dawn on her a few minutes later that her cramps might actually be contractions she was pulled from her thoughts by the ringing of her phone, she took a deep breath and then hit the speakerphone button and said, "Garcia". After a few seconds of silence she heard Reid say, "Garcia, I have Anderson coming to you now", she said, "Anderson, why boy wonder?", Reid said, "we were able to get the unsub but not before three agents were wounded".
Penelope said, "wounded, how, how and who were they Reid?", Reid said, "Mick, Tim and Morgan were hit", Penelope said, "h h hit where, where were they hit Spencer?", as tears streamed down her face Reid said, "Mick and Tim were hit in the shoulder, they're stable right now and out of danger".
Penelope said, "and Derek, where was he hit?", Reid said, "he, well he was", Penelope said, "REID WHERE WAS HE HIT?", Reid said, "in the stomach and chest, he's in surgery right now", she said, "s s stomach and c c chest". Reid said, "he's going to be fine Garcia", Penelope said, "I'm on my way", after the call ended she stood up and headed toward her door where she was met by Anderson who said, "this way Penelope, I'll take you to the hospital"
She nodded her head yes as she grabbed her purse, she was so caught up in her worry about Derek and the others that she had forgotten that she might be in labor but fate wouldn't be that good to her because soon she along with the rest of the team would know that she was indeed in labor.
