A Matter Of Trust-Ch 40
Since the team was in town for this case it only took a few minutes for Penelope and Anderson to make it to the hospital, when they walked through the double doors they were met by Fran and Dave. Fran looked at Penelope and said, "he's still in surgery but when they came out and updated us a few minutes ago he was stable and holding his own", Penelope wiped away the tears that were streaming down her face.
She looked around to see Mick and Tim standing behind her, Mick said, "sorry Penelope but as you can see we're fine", Penelope pointed her finger between the two men and said, "it's just a good thing that the two of you are alright or I would", she winced in pain and grabbed her stomach, the pain was so intense that she almost dropped to her knees.
Reid and Mick grabbed her and Mick said, "what's wrong, are you alright?", Penelope said, "don't worry about me, I'm fineeeee" as another pain hit her, she once again double over and grabbed her stomach. Fran got down on her knees in front of Penelope and said, "sweetie, are you in labor?", Penelope bit down on her bottom lip and said, "well, I, I think sooooooo" as another contraction racked her body.
JJ said, "how long have you been having pains?", Penelope said, "well I started having dull aches this morning before I left my apartment and they got stronger as the day went on and now they're hitting ever couple of minutes". Fran said, "well then, let's get you checked in and get that baby delivered", Penelope shook her head and said, "it's to early, it's too early, I'm only 7 months along, we still have 2 months left".
Fran laughed and said, "honey you might have 2 months left but my grand baby wants to come out and meet us now", Reid ran over to the nurses desk and alerted them that they had another patient that was 7 months pregnant and in labor. Fran said, "here let's get you up" and as Penelope stood up a gush of warm bloody fluid gushed at her feet, she said, "ohhhhhhhh, I'm so sorry", Mick said, "you've got nothing to be sorry about Penelope, your water broke".
The nurses ran over with a wheelchair and one of the nurses said, "lets get you into the wheelchair Ms. Garcia", Penelope said, "but, but", JJ said, "the only but that you need to worry about is yours now put it down in that seat Penelope Grace Garcia". Penelope sat down and said, "I can't do this alone, please, please don't let me go through this alone", Mick said, "who do you want to be with you?", she said, "well Derek but since he's not here", Fran said, "honey, do you want me to go with you?", Penelope nodded her head yes.
Fran looked at the family and said, "I'll go with her and if you find out anything about Derek, please let me know", Dave said, "I'll let you know, now go, go be with kitten", Fran kissed his lips gently and said, "I'll let you know when the baby is born", he smiled and nodded his head yes as he watched his wife and he hoped the woman that would one day soon be his daughter-in-law disappear out of sight with the nurses.
Emily said, "first Mick, Tim and Derek get shot, now PG's water breaks, what's gonna happen next?", JJ said, "hopefully we'll get good news about Morgan soon", Emily took hold of JJ's hand and said, "from your lips Jayje, from your lips" as the family all sat down to wait on news on Derek and Penelope.
Once they got Penelope into a room they quickly got her clothes off of her and got her into a gown and the doctor walked into the room and said, "alright Penelope, let's get you on the table and get you checked out". Fran helped Penelope up onto the table and got her comfortably positioned so that the doctor could check to see how far she was dilated, after raising the sheet, it only took a few seconds before she said, "she's fully dilated and ready to deliver".
Penelope looked up at Fran and said, "are you ready to meet your son or daughter?", with tears streaming down her cheeks she nodded her head and said, "yes, yes" as she was hit with the hardest contraction yet.
