Hi again guys! So sorry that I didn't uphold my promise, but here it is. The next chapter will be the last, so it will take some planning. So enjoy this chapter, because I'm not sure when the last will be finished.
Dave and I leapt to battle, using the rooftops as stable ground. John wasn't armed in any way. He simply flew around Noir, making the aggravated tyrant stab at John. "Are you crazy?" I asked, thrusting my needles at Noir.
"Well, if I'm crazy, then you and Dave definitely have to be crazy," John replied, ducking beneath a swipe of Noir's blade.
"Holy fuck you're stupid," Dave replied. "Like, I get that you might be trying to do some ironic, 'I'm going to save my girlfriend by killing myself stunt,' and expect your best friend and girlfriend to swoop in and safe you, but you're too serious for that shit." Dave quickly evaded an attack from Noir, and ended up a few feet away from us.
"You lost me," John said as he pulled his head away from Noir's sword.
"Just forget it," Dave replied.
"How are you two talking so calmly?" I asked, putting my needles together to deflect a blow.
"It's easy," John said, floating near me. "It's like a game of tag!"
"It is not in any way similar to a game of tag," Dave retorted, faking hurt. He probably would've pulled off the act if it wasn't for the sunglasses covering his eyes. "These are skills used by ninjas. Fucking ninjas. This is an ancient and sacred art, so fucking sacred people bow down to ninjas for being ninjas. Even the shitty ninjas that can't do ninja stuff for shit." Throughout this rant, Dave managed to deflect every attack made by Noir.
"How touching. Don't worry, Strider, I have pen and notepad in hand, and these wise words will be noted."
"Fuck you."
"Ditto."
"Uh, stop it already!" John whined, dodging Noir. "This sarcastic argument that is ensuing between you two is giving me a headache!"
Before Dave and I could give some sarcastic quip, Noir barked in rage and teleported behind Dave. Dave jumped away and tried to stab him, but Noir teleported again, this time behind John. "Look out!" I shouted.
John flew away and equipped his hammer. Once again Noir teleported, but didn't appear behind any of us this time. "Where'd he go?" John asked.
He got his answer when PM zipped past us, hot on whatever trail Noir had left. "Looks like Karkat and Sollux pulled through," Dave said.
I nodded. "Now let's see how Dirk did."
John looked at us, confused. "Uh, can one of you please explain?" he asked.
"Our original plan was to kill Noir with the help of PM," I explained. "Karkat and Sollux found her, Dirk went to find the others, and Dave and I went to distract Noir."
John smiled. "So I helped!"
"Not really, dude," Dave said. He pointed at the ground beneath John, which had a few drops of blood. "I think your wounds reopened."
John looked down and held his chest. "Fuck," he muttered. "I didn't even feel anything!"
"It'll be okay," I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. I lifted up his shirt, and sure enough, the blood soaked through his bandages. "You shouldn't have fought."
"I had to," he said.
"No, you didn't," I replied. I stopped him before he could protest. "You didn't have to run out and risk your life like that. Really, all you were doing was annoying him. And we already know that he could kill you. We know you would help us, John. And we don't think any less of you because you got hurt. But your injuries are bad, and you need to let them heal."
He frowned. "Fine."
"That's the spirit!" Dave exclaimed. "You've already learned that you can't win a fight with a woman!" John laughed.
"Ha ha," I said. John coughed awkwardly, and Dave smirked at his reaction.
"You have him wrapped around your fingers," he muttered.
"I am well aware of this fact," I replied.
"Hey!" John said. "I heard that!"
"You were meant to," I replied. "Now, we have to find PM and Jack. John, please refrain from pulling stupid stunts of bravery."
"Yeah, yeah," he muttered.
"Take one for the team, Egbert," Dave said. "You really did help us out."
"Whatever. Just don't get hurt," he said. He leaned forward and kissed my cheek, then flew away.
"Don't say anything," I said through gritted teeth as I felt Dave's eyes on my red face.
"I won't," he said cockily.
I glared at him. "Good."
We remained silent like this for a few moments before Dirk came between us. "I rounded everyone up," he said. "I told them to go after Noir. Quit your staring contest and hurry up."
Dirk ran in the direction PM had flown, and Dave and I followed him. Noir had teleported to the center of Prospit, where he and PM were engaged in battle. Jade, Karkat, Kanaya, Vriska, Terezi, and Gamzee were trying to land blows on Noir, but he evaded them effortlessly.
"I made evryone split up in case they teleported away," Dirk said. "The rest of them are stationed around the city in small groups."
"Smart call," I complimented. I watched as PM and Noir struggled to see who would get the upper hand, and as the others tried to strike Noir. Then I realized the rings each of them had on.
I made my way towards Jade, who was shooting at Noir. "Jade, why are they wearing those rings?" I asked.
She shrugged. "I don't really know," she said.
"Are you fucking retarded?" Karkat asked. "The rings are where they get their powers."
I gasped. "Jade, aim for the finger that holds Noir's ring," I said.
She smiled. "If I can shoot it off, then he'll be powerless!" she exclaimed. I nodded. She took aim and fired, but Noir moved out of the way. This happened three more time before she huffed in frustration.
"Damn," I said. "I couldn't hit the mark, and no one else here seems able." I watched as Vriska rolled her die. A sword appeared in her hands, and she jumped towards Noir. He blocked her sword, and he was stopped momentarily as he held his blade to block Vriska's. PM took this opportunity to thrust her sword at him. He teleported a few feet away, then returned to fighting with PM.
"Any more ideas?" Karkat asked. Jade shot again, and Noir let the bullet pass through him.
"None," I muttered. Gamzee jumped towards him, and Noir stabbed his chest. Gamzee fell back, watching the purple blood flow from his chest. The he got up and walked away as if he was unscathed.
"Maybe we can make Gamzee try to kill him?" Karkat asked. "He certainly won't fucking die."
"It's a thought," I replied. "Attacking him at once would give him the chance to kill us all and not worry about PM, so that's out of the question."
"Well, fuck it all!" Karkat exclaimed. "No, really. Fuck this shit, I'm done."
"Calm down," Jade said. He grumbled in a childlike fashion. "Are you sure there's nothing else, Rose?"
"Try this," I said suddenly. "You can transport anywhere in space, right?"
"Well, yeah," Jade replied.
"Can you teleport outside of this universe?"
"I think so. I've never tried it before. I think I can only teleport because of Beq, though. So my powers are limited like theirs are."
"Okay. Here's what we are going to do. We need to get aboard one of the battle ships. See that one over there?" I asked, pointing to a seemingly abandoned ship close by. "We get on with Dave. Then let me handle everything else." She nodded, then teleported to Dave. She grabbed his arm, teleported back to me, and brought us all to the battle ship.
"What are you planning, Rose?" Dave asked. "What schemes do you have mapped out that somehow needed my assistance?"
I ignored Dave and looked at Jade. "I think we need fake blood," I muttered.
"Fake blood?" Jade asked.
"We need to make it look like you're hurt. Fake blood can help with that." Jade smiled. "I know just the goof who can help us!" She disappeared.
"You're boyfriend is getting involved in this," Dave said. On queue, Jade appeared again, this time with John.
"Oh. Hi guys!" he said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a few red capsules. "Jade said you needed to use fake blood."
"Wait. Do you just carry fake blood with you wherever you go?" Dave asked.
"What, you don't?"
"Never mind," I interrupted. "Jade, smear the blood around you. Then cry out in pain, loud enough so PM and Noir can hear you. When they come here, teleport us to the edge of the universe. We sail out with the ship and lure PM and Noir with us, then defeat Noir when he is powerless."
Jade took the capsules and smeared them on her shirt. Then she shrieked and called out for help. Seconds after, PM and Noir teleported to the ship. Jade used her powers, and the entire ship was soon at the edge of the universe. She gave us a push out with her powers, and Noir and PM followed when Dave took out his sword and stepped closer to Jade.
"Now what?" she asked, looking at Noir, who was still battling PM.
"We fight," I replied.
Let's just bypass how unrealistic this sounds... Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. Please leave comments telling me what you thought, and I will see you guys later!
Alright, I'm out.
