Before I begin, I would like to say a big thank you to 'Arcadia- 1440' for adding this story to their favorites and 'reppuzan' for adding this story to their alerts and favorites.
Reply to Ghost501's review of Chapter 22: Well, thank you. I went through possible scenarios that could have went on in that conversation, but I decided that the final product now would be best.
Reply to strato-abyss17's review of Chapter 22: Bah, brainfarts. I hate it when I get them. They make me feel stupid. XD
In any case, I'm glad that I've impressed you.
Reply to Cosmic Guardian's review of Chapter 22: Another Battle Network novelization sounds fun, but I'm not sure whether I wanted to go straight to BN2 or do the Gamecube game 'Megaman Network Transmission' first. It takes place between BN1 and BN2 (a month after BN1), so it would make sense to go in chronological order. However, I haven't played Network Transmission. If I write a novelization of it before BN2, I'll need to watch an LP to get an idea of what to do.
As for BN2, given my style of borrowing certain elements from the anime, I'll need to change up some of the gameplay mechanics that the game introduced (for example, I might need to change how two of the styles work). It's been a while since I last played the game or watched the anime, too. In short, I'll need some refreshers before tackling another BN novelization.
Reply to reppuzan's review of Chapter 22: Hey, thanks a lot! After all, that's what I aim to do with these projects. I hope the typos you found didn't affect the meanings of anything, though!
-Chapter 23: EndGame-
Lan eyed the portrait. Just ten seconds ago, he and Megaman (well, Hub) renewed their vows to stop World Three. At this moment in time, they were lost. They had no idea where to go.
"Well, if there's a jack in port, it's most likely that there's something behind it." Chaud suggested.
Taking it on board, Lan raised his hand in front of the portrait. It swung back.
"Woah," Lan said, laying eyes on the pathway that was revealed. The pathway itself wasn't very long, but what was present at the end of it was. From the short distance, Lan, Maylu and Chaud saw World Three's hacking rocket.
"It's time," Chaud said.
"Yeah, Lan. It's up to you to finish this," Maylu added.
"Alright, guys." Lan turned round to the two, who nodded and wished him good luck. Well, Chaud just told Lan not to get Megaman deleted, but this wasn't the time to make a witty comeback.
Lan turned back to the path he was to take. Before he stepped forward, however, Maylu suddenly grasped his left shoulder.
"What is it, Maylu?"
"Lan, if it looks like you can't win, run. I... I don't want you to do anything that'll..."
"Maylu..." Lan could see the fear in his friend's eyes. They were about to build tears, thanks to the feeling of concern and worry. Despite this, Lan looked at his friend confidently and smiled. "No need to worry. Megaman and I can do this!"
The magenta haired girl slowly took her hand away from Lan's shoulder. She resisted the urge to break down and forced a smile on her face. She apologized for being so worried and wished him good luck once more. All she and Chaud saw was Lan rushing along the hidden pathway.
Outside...
To Lan's left and right, he could see purple liquid flowing down, as if they were waterfalls. Just next to them were six platforms, three on each side, in red, blue and yellow. They all connected to the larger green platform, where the large hacking rocket stood. A small computer with an abnormally large red button was just to the left of it. The rocket's hatch had a small window, so one could check up on what was in the rocket. The hatch was open, revealing a bright blue interior. In front of it was a purple orb. Lan noticed the four swirls of energy around it and that it was floating towards the rocket hatch at a slow and steady pace. He stood in awe. Within a few seconds, the orb entered the rocket and the hatch was closed shut.
A bald man raised his hands, his palms facing upwards, and cackled. He looked just like the one from the portrait. His hair and mustache were whitened with age and there were several wrinkles across his face. A dark tinted monocle rested over his right eye. His mostly gray clothing was scarlet on the inside, as revealed by the fact that his large collar was up.
"Ha ha ha ha! Once I press the button, bye bye, world!" Lan heard the old man laugh to himself. "Dr Hikari may have kicked me out of his little lab, but I get my revenge here and now!" The boy was positive. This was who World Three called 'Lord Wily'!
"You won't be pressing that button anytime soon!" Lan yelled, rushing to the scene. "Stop right there!"
"Gah... Hikari's little boy, Lan, I presume," Wily groaned. "Leave it to the Hikari family to bother me to the very end!"
"You planned all of this, just to get revenge on my family?" the boy growled. "Why?"
"Hmm... Should I tell you?" World Three's leader pondered aloud, stroking his chin. "I have no time to be telling stories to a child, but... Fine, I'll tell you, not that it'll change anything.
30 years ago, two scientists competed against each other to be the very best. There was me, who specialized in robotics, and there was your grandfather, Dr Tadashi Hikari, who specialized in networking. We were both so lost in our research, all we could think of was trying to outdo each other! One day, an international competition was announced. In order to win, our country had to pick one of our projects to fund."
"This competition... Did my grandfather win it? Is that why you're so bent on revenge?"
"Your grandfather's networking research did come out as the winner," Wily answered. "As for my robotics research... They canceled it!" The former scientist's face boiled and his hairs couldn't help but stand up. "I couldn't believe they did such a thing! My research was vital! Vital!" He let out a cry of frustration, then looked towards the sky. "I was crushed. After losing the competition and having my research canceled, I had no other place to turn to, so I left the lab."
Wily looked at the boy in front of him, his eyes fixed on him in rage.
"I created World Three and the Life Virus to get back at him," he concluded, gesturing towards his hacking rocket. He then pointed a finger at Lan. "It's all your grandfather's fault! Thanks to him, the world is what it is today. Now, as payback, I'll destroy it!"
"But my- Lan's grandfather wasn't the one who canceled your research!" Megaman spoke up, ready to defend his family. "It wasn't his fault!"
"That's what Tadashi said, too," the enraged man grunted. "Neither you nor your NetOp would be able to understand how I feel! Never!"
"But you're doing all of this, just because-"
Wily let out a cry of anger, raised a finger up and turned to the computer next to him, his eyes fixed on the red button.
"Enough talk, child!" he shouted. "World, prepare for deletion!"
"No!" Lan yelled, rushing for the computer. "I won't let you!"
"You wouldn't dare!" the former scientist snarled.
"I do dare!" Lan responded, stretching the cord from his PET out.
"So do I!" Megaman smirked. "Let's finish this, Lan!"
"Yeah! Jack in, Megaman! Execute!"
In World Three's Hacking Rocket...
In a blue light, Megaman appeared, placing his feet on the chrome cyber ground. The cyber sky was dark - pitch black, in fact! Dotted across were streams of W's swirling around each other, just like how an atom is usually depicted. Within each stream of W's, there was a gap after every third W, possibly to represent 'World Three'. Megaman would have made a quick comment to himself about how narcissistic Wily proved he was, but this wasn't the time to be a judge of character, so he made his way forward. Every now and then, he took a quick glance to the side. As a whole, the area itself was a big one, though the path didn't take any twists or turns on the way to the much larger central platform. At the end of the path, however, Megaman laid eyes on the same purple orb from the real world. It floated in the center of the platform, bobbing up and down slowly.
"Lan, this must be the Life Virus," he said softly, knowing that everything had come to this.
"If we can delete that thing, World Three's plans will be foiled!" Lan reminded him.
Understanding what to do, Megaman raised his Mega Buster at the purple orb. Instantly, said orb began to flash white, taking the blue Navi by surprise. After three seconds of repeated flashing, the Life Virus began to change shape, being an orb no longer. As a loud screeching sound was emitted from it, it grew three times- no, much more than three times its original size. The bottom of it expanded outwards, but then morphed into six legs. They appeared similar to those of a stilt legged fly from the real world. There were three on each side.
From the top of the original orb, something that appeared to be a torso protruded out. Two spherical shoulders grew out of it. Then, four large spikes, two on each shoulder, shot upwards, taking on a jagged appearance. From each shoulder, an arm shot downwards. The ends of the arms expanded quickly, then turned into the shape of four fingered claws, much like animals from the real world. Between the two shoulders, a head grew out. After the face was formed, the top of the head continued to grow backwards, appearing as a large spine. Smaller spikes formed out of both sides of the pointed head, too.
The monstrous figure in front of Megaman flashed white once more, before changing color completely. The Life Virus was mostly green, but its arms and where the legs connected to the rest of the body contrasted in a dark shade of maroon. Down each finger of the claws and down the middle of the legs were a pale yellow, as the shoulder spikes were. The Life Virus roared aloud and opened its dark eyes, revealing piercing gold irises. Its hostile gaze was fixed on Megaman, its claws clenched.
"W-What happened to it?" Megaman gasped.
"This is the Life Virus' true form!" Wily spoke up, though Megaman could have sworn that the man's voice came through the atrocious insect like virus before him. "Now, be prepared! You are about to witness a power that shakes the foundations of the cyberworld!"
"What a load of baloney!" Lan snapped. "We'll take on your Life Virus, no matter what it looks like. This is it, Megaman. Our ultimate virus busting."
"Ready when you are. Let's do this!"
"Try all you want!" Wily cackled. "You won't stand in my way! No one will!"
And before Megaman could point his Mega Buster, the Life Virus roared once more. This time, a purple aura appeared. It disappeared a second later, however. In its place, around the virus, was a translucent barrier, flashing a dark shade of violet every now and then. This 'Life Aura' was substantially stronger than a regular Barrier chip, being able to withstand multiple Mega Buster shots from the new and improved Megaman, as well as resisting Spreader blasts from up close. Unfortunately for Megaman, defense was not the Life Virus' only asset, for one swing of its claw knocked him far away.
As Megaman grunted in pain, Lan cringed, feeling the same pain his Navi felt. At first, he was surprised that the pain seemed to come out of nowhere. Quickly, he remembered what his father told him.
Man... Now's not a good time for that to take effect!
"Lan, this barrier around the Life Virus is really getting on my nerves!" Megaman called out to his NetOp. "Multi-hit moves aren't doing a thing to it!"
"In that case, we'll just have to take it down with single, powerful attacks!" Lan responded, taking out a chip that resembled Quake. The difference was in the color of the weight, being a bright red instead of silver. "This should do it! Quake2! Battle chip in! Download!"
Megama's right hand changed into his Mega Buster, while his left hand contained a red ball of energy. As hard as he could, he tossed the ball up and above the Life Virus, dodging a claw swipe meanwhile. Megaman raised his left hand down and the red ball transformed into a weight of the same color, falling down and crashing on the Life Aura barrier with so much force, it dissipated. Before the weight disappeared, it made impact on top of the Life Virus, dealing a fair amount of damage to it. The Life Virus made a noise that sounded like a grunt of frustration and slammed its two claws down at Megaman, but missed by a large margin. Megaman charged his Mega Buster and released a powerful blast at it, though he wasn't about to let up afterwards. He followed up with many rapidly fired shots. Though the insectoid virus was tough, its bulk hindered its mobility, so it had no choice but to endure the attacks. That was until, however, it mustered enough strength to summon another Life Aura barrier around it.
"My attacks actually did something, Lan! The Life Virus got beat up pretty badly!"
"Great job, Megaman! But you better watch out. Wouldn't want to hurt yourself, would you?"
"You doubting me, Lan?" the Navi smirked. "If I keep this up, this thing will-"
A low growl interrupted Megaman. He looked upwards, hoping that Lan had a strong chip ready to take out the barrier again. However, the Life Virus' growl grew louder and it raised its claws up. In front of it, purple streams of data clustered at two different points. At first, they appeared to form two energy orbs. In a second, they changed shape and resembled miniature versions of the Life Virus itself. The viruses that were summoned were variations of the Scuttle virus. There was a red Scutz and a yellow Scuttler.
"I've never seen those before," Megaman muttered. He then raised his voice for his NetOp. "The Life Virus must have summoned them to distract us, Lan! And the distractions look kinda threatening themselves!"
"Keep them at bay, Megaman," Lan ordered his Navi. "And take them out from afar!"
The Life Virus stood still, looking like it was charging an attack. Meanwhile, the Scutz made the first move, the Scuttler following closely behind. As Lan told him to, Megaman jumped backwards, blasting the red insect with his Mega Buster. It was about to go down with one more shot, but it raised its front legs upwards and released a ball of fire at it. Beside the Scutz, the Scuttler raised its own legs upwards and shot a ball of Thunder at it. Megaman dodged out of the way, but felt the fireball graze his leg. Lan felt that pain, too, and it was like placing his hand on a hot stove and holding it for a couple of seconds. As he reached down to clutch his leg, he saw Megaman delete the Scutz.
Afterwards, Megaman backed away, but the Scuttler was also very quick. It crouched, leaped for its enemy and rammed his head against the blue Navi's stomach. It was a light attack, though Lan felt the same impact Megaman did.
"Man, it's like someone went up and punched me in the stomach!" he groaned.
"Lan!" Megaman gasped, barely avoiding a Thunder attack. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, but... When I applied the Hub. BAT, it changed your DNA slightly," Lan explained quickly. "That change made it so our DNA are exactly the same. Dad told us that our internal and external states would synch with each."
"Wha...? Ah, now I remember. When I get hurt, so do you?"
"Yeah..."
"Then I have to win!" Megaman declared. "Let's squash this bug, Lan! And the oversized one behind it, too!"
"The Life Virus is ready to attack!" Lan warned him. "Watch out!"
Just as the brown haired boy said, the Life Virus's current state signaled trouble for Megaman. Between its legs was a circle plating. It glowed a bright purple. The Life Virus roared once more and an energy beam of the same color was shot straight forward. Not wanting to get himself or Lan hurt, Megaman managed to dodge. As he did so, he aimed his Mega Buster at the Scuttler and let loose, deleting the yellow virus.
"Nice one, Megaman! Now, let's go for the big one! Fire Sword and Electro Sword! Battle chips in! Download!"
Megaman received both swords and made a leap for the Life Virus. Once again, it winded up its claw and swung at the blue pest in front of it. Instinctively, Megaman blocked with it the Electro Sword, making a loud clanging sound as it made contact. He knew that he couldn't handle much of the pressure his opponent exerted. His body shook, but he still pushed forward. Before the Life Virus' free claw was readied for attack, he thrust his Fire Sword ahead of him, passing through the Life Aura barrier. As predicted, it dissipated, due to the power the weapon possessed. Megaman brought his Electro Sword down, allowing the Life Virus' claw to crash down, but avoided said claw before he could be crushed. Seizing the moment, he crossed his swords together, charged forward and sliced. He followed up by spinning at the Life Virus, slashing as he span. He stopped after four cycles, since being dizzy was not the best thing to do in such a fight.
The giant virus raised a claw once more and slammed it down, but Megaman jumped out of the way. With the threat out of range, it summoned another Life Aura barrier, much to Megaman's frustration.
"It can't move very well, but it sure is persistent," he commented, his arms returning.
"We just have to keep at it," Lan urged him. Before he could say anymore, the Life Virus growled again. After it grew louder, it raised its claws up. The boy told his Navi to keep his guard up, knowing what was to come next.
Once again, purple clusters of data swirled into certain points. The orbs that formed then took identical shapes to the Scutz and Scuttler. These viruses, however, were different colors. The blue one on the left was a Scuttle and the green one on the right was a Scutzer. The Life Virus stood still once more, charging another attack. This time, Megaman made the first move on the smaller enemies. He soon learned that, unlike their red or yellow counterparts, these viruses scuttled away from their attacker, choosing to strike when his guard was down. As such, Megaman couldn't get as many shots at them as the he did the previous two. They circled around him with greater speed than the Scutz or Scuttler, too. Suddenly, their eyes shone for a second. Then, in front of the Scuttle, an Aqua Tower rose up. In front of the Scutzer, an equally tall pillar of sharp wood, known as a 'Wood Tower' grew. The Wood Tower was sent forward first, followed by the Aqua Tower.
"We've got to get them, fast!" Lan told Megaman, taking out two chips. "Hi Cannon and Spreader! Battle chips in! Download!"
Megaman ran to the side, receiving the chip data that was sent. At the same time, he noticed that, though the Wood Tower appeared tougher than its water type counterpart, it moved at a slower pace. He figured that he could work this to his advantage, so he pointed the Hi Cannon at the blue Scuttle and fired. Since it took enough damage from the few Mega Buster blasts, it was deleted with the Hi Cannon shot. The Aqua Tower lowered and disappeared, but the Wood Tower, despite its slower speed, was gaining on the blue Navi. As he burst forward towards the Scutzer, the sharpened pillar of wood homed in. It was just about to slam on its target, but he made the jump to the side and out of the way. The little green insect scurried away from Megaman, but couldn't escape the wide range that Spreader covered. The smaller virus began to look worn out, while the Life Virus looked ready to attack. A large purple sword appeared before it. With Megaman in range, it took a very large horizontal swing. The attack came at a much greater speed than one expected from a weapon that large. Megaman barely managed to duck in time and felt the rush of the Life Virus' sword pass by.
"Whew! That was a close one!" Lan breathed in relief, also feeling the rush above his head.
"The little bugger managed to get away, though," Megaman said, looking around for the Scutzer.
"Try and take it and the Life Virus' shield at the same time. Fighter Sword! Battle chip in! Download!"
"Now we're talking," the Navi smirked, receiving the weapon that was as almost as red as Protoman. Megaman jumped between the Scutzer and the Life Virus' Life Aura, then readied himself. As the Fighter Sword turned into a red stream of energy, he span around three times; the first spin was to wipe out the Scutzer and eliminate the Life Aura once more, while the next two were to slash at the Life Virus itself for massive damage.
"Nice spin attack, Megaman!" Lan grinned.
"Thanks. A little bit of improv never hurts," Megaman chuckled. Immediately afterwards, he got his 'battle face' ready and dodged another claw swipe from the Life Virus. Following on from that, it summoned another Life Aura barrier. Inside the barrier, however, the wounds inflicted on the Life Virus seemed to take its toll.
Once again, it growled, raised its claws up and summoned more lookalikes to distract Megaman. This time, all four types of the Scuttle joined the fight. As the Life Virus charged another attack for Megaman, its smaller counterparts leaped forward and surrounded the blue Navi. As they inched forward, they moved in a circle. The Scutz and Scuttler launched a fireball and Thunder respectively, but Megaman jumped out of the way and watched the attacks collide with each other in an explosion of fire and electricity. Unluckily for him, the explosion was too small to do any damage to the Scuttles. As the Scutz and Scuttler lunged for Megaman, the blue Scuttle and the Scutzer readied their Aqua and Wood Towers, then waited for the right moment to strike. Megaman backed away and blasted the viruses with his Mega Buster, but they were still standing strong. The Scuttler went down first, but the Scutzer released its Wood Tower. The Scutz spit out a fireball for Megaman, who dodged, but was knocked back by the the Wood Tower. Soon after, the red Scutz backed away for the blue Scuttle to release its Aqua Tower. Megaman got up from the previous attack, but was washed away again with the next.
"Gah! Five on... Urgh, four on one sounds a little unfair, don't you think?" Lan said with his teeth clenched, resisting the urge to yell in pain earlier.
"Life is unfair, boy!" Wily snarled. Once again, Megaman heard his voice come through the Life Virus. "You haven't been through what I have!"
"I'll worry about it then, if it ever happens," Lan suddenly smirked again. "Right now, just because Megaman's outnumbered, that doesn't mean he'll lose! Right, Megaman?"
"I'm with you on that one!" the Navi responded, having deleted the Scutzer. Once again, before he could say anything else, he was interrupted by a noise he didn't want to hear.
As a low rumbling came from above, the cyber ground shook. Megaman looked upwards to see what was going on, but was distracted and took a headbutt to the back from a Scuttler. The Scuttle from behind launched an Aqua Tower, but Megaman actually took notice of that attack, and dodged it. However, as he fought off the two remaining smaller viruses, he frantically looked upwards to see a circular object head his way. Well, 'object' was an insulting way to describe them. As they continued to fall at terminal velocity, Megaman could make out what it really was: a meteor!
"How the heck did the Life Virus do that!?"
"Doesn't matter! Get outta the way, Megaman!" Lan yelled in panic.
Deleting the Scuttle and Scuttler was no longer a priority, Megaman decided. The meteor from 'who knows where' would take them out regardless. He ran, ran for his life, trying to repel the viruses with his Mega Buster. In mere moments, the cyber ground shook much more violently than before, thanks the the meteor making impact. That wasn't all, though, to Megaman's shock. As the ball of rock collided, a large explosion boomed and was strong enough to wipe out the Scuttle and Scuttler. However, it wasn't enough to break the Life Virus' Life Aura. Even still, there was more to the attack than that. As the explosion subsided, Megaman's eyes caught the sight of dark red energy waves spreading out along the cyber ground. Assuming that the meteor possessed great enough power as it was, this wasn't a good sign.
"Heads up, Megaman! Some of them are headed towards you!" Lan warned him. "Area Steal and Quake2! Battle chips in! Download!"
Just in time, Megaman received the chip data and warped away from where he was standing. The Life Virus slammed its claws down, as if trying to show that it was furious, and turned its head around to look for its enemy. It looked upwards, finding Megaman above where it was. It also saw him throw a red ball down, which turned into another large weight of the same color. It came down at such great speed, it had enough force to break the Life Aura. However, as the weight began to fall on top of the Life Virus again, a claw was raised to stop it from impacting on top of it again. Megaman landed, but couldn't react to the Life Virus swinging the weight at him. He yelled as he was hurt and sent flying. Meanwhile, Lan clutched his chest, feeling the same pain Megaman felt.
"Lan!" Megaman gasped again, hearing Lan's scream. "Are... you..."
"D-Darn it!" Lan growled, his teeth clenched once more. "This... This probably hurts me more than it hurts you, Megaman!"
"I... I have to finish this quickly!" Megaman responded. "Otherwise, you'll be hurt even more!"
"I warned you, didn't I?" Wily sneered. "Its power is too much, especially for a Navi such as you!"
The Life Virus snarled at Megaman and swiped a claw at it, but Megaman still had enough energy to dodge. Even still, Wily laughed evilly.
"Ha ha ha ha! Delete that Navi, my Life Virus! Delete, delete, delete!" the former scientist called out maniacally. "Then, no one will stand in our way to delete the world!"
"You won't get away!" Lan declared. "Megaman, how's about we wrap things up?"
"I'm definitely game for that!" the Navi replied confidently.
"I knew you'd say that! M Cannon! Battle chip in! Download!"
As Megaman received the chip data, his right arm was transformed into a cannon that was similar in size and weight to the regular Cannon and Hi Cannon. He rubbed the red coating on it just before taking aim at the Life Aura that surrounded his enemy. He fired. Megaman was shocked to be pushed back by the recoil of the attack. The other Cannons didn't do that, after all! However, it was worth it, for the M Cannon blast instantly destroyed the Life Aura, leaving the Life Virus open for attack.
"That's the way, Megaman!" Lan cheered his Navi on, pumping his fist. "Now, let Wily's abomination have it!"
After Megaman's right arm returned, it immediately changed into the Mega Buster. Wanting to end things, Megaman charged up his shot. The Life Virus seemed to be getting desperate, for it frantically swiped its claws at him, only to fail miserably. As he continued to charge his shot, he jumped all over the place, confounding the insectoid virus and dodging its attacks. After a short while, a high pitched whirring sound was emitted from the Mega Buster and a white glow appeared.
Megaman pointed the Mega Buster at the enemy.
"Game over, Life Virus!"
With a loud cry of determination, he released the fully charged shot, which propelled forward like a bullet, yet appeared as large as a Thunder attack. It didn't take long for the energy blast to impact the Life Virus. The force of it was so great and it moved so fast, it pierced a hole on the Life Virus' torso. The virus itself roared in extreme pain, then remained quiet and still.
Breaking the silence a few seconds later were sparks that flew around the Life Virus. They appeared and trickled across the body more frantically. Then, from where the charged shot punctured the torso, a great, white light shone out, nearly blinding Megaman, had he not shielded his eyes beforehand. Though he couldn't see anything, he could hear an extremely loud explosion boom in the area.
Though he couldn't hear his own thoughts, Megaman was proud of what he had done.
I... I did it! I won!
At The Hacking Rocket's Launch Site...
"M-My... Life Virus!" Wily gasped in horror. Through the small window of the rocket hatch, he witnessed the purple orb, which was once the Life Virus, disappear. Wily's face boiled in rage and his clenched fists shook. "What... What... What have you done!? What have you done to my baby!? To my World Three!? Gaaaah!"
It was official: Wily, the leader of World Three, had gone insane.
Before he could rage on some more, however, an obnoxiously loud alarm blared over the entire mountainside. Suddenly, there was rumbling and the entire place shook!
"WARNING! WARNING!" a robotic voice droned over the alarm. "VIRUS LEAK! ALL SYSTEMS MALFUNCTIONING! SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED!"
"Self destruct sequence!?" Lan yelped, horrified. He turned to Wily for some answers, but got none.
"My... My precious... World Three laboratory..."
"Tch, never mind. Megaman, we have to leave now. Jack out.
"Roger that, Lan."
Megaman returned to the PET, which was unplugged just a moment after. Lan turned around and ran as fast as he could, but not before taking one last look at Wily. It seemed that his whole life revolved around the whole scheme, for he looked crushed. However, considering that the entire base was about to explode, there wasn't any time for thinking. All Lan had left to do was escape.
And that was what he did.
Virus Log-
Life Virus: a key component in Wily's plan to delete the world and the strongest virus so far
Scuttle: blue, insect like and resembles the Life Virus
Scutz: red, insect like and resembles the Life Virus
Scuttler: yellow, insect like and resembles the Life Virus
Scutzer: green, insect like and resembles the Life Virus
You know, compared to the final bosses in the other games, the Life Virus in the first game was a joke. Definitely the easiest in the Battle Network series. All it had going for it was a 100 HP barrier to remove, which can done with a fair amount of chips that are available in the game. After that, the Life Virus itself only has 1000 HP. On top of that, for the final part of the main game, Megaman's stats are at max (thanks to Hub. BAT, I assume). Should you need to use your Mega Buster, it still does decently against the Life Virus.
But, folks, this final battle was the second to last chapter. Finally, after months of updates, the Megaman Battle Network novelization will come to an end. Stay tuned for the final chapter, the ending!
-Have a great day, week, month, whatever, and stay upbeat, y'all!-
