You're Human
Caroline stirred waking up.
She felt someone whipped her forehead. She shot up, remembering what happened. She was Silas. He had her and slammed her head against a wall. She was going to die. She didn't even say goodbye.
Caroline eyes widened as she saw her mom. "Mom?" Liz smiled. She took Caroline hands and put them in hers. "It's me, Caroline. How do you feel?"
"No, you're Silas." Caroline said as she closed her eyes. It couldn't be her mom. She wouldn't be there. She can't be there. She was supposed to be far away from Silas, she was supposed to be free, she needed to leave, she couldn't stay here. Wait, it isn't her. Could it be? Silas has gotten into her head before. He used Klaus, Matt, Liz. What if this was another one of his tricks?
Liz smiled at her daughter. She softly stroked Caroline's hair. She knew why Caroline thought she was Silas. He daughter has been through so much, she knew it was hard to trust people.
"It's me, Care. Silas brought me here with him. Look at me." Caroline slowly opened her eyes. It was her. Caroline beamed and hugged Liz. "You're here. You're really here."
"I've missed you so much, Care-Bear." Liz whispered in her ear. Caroline felt like crying. "I missed you mom. Please don't leave me." She said voice cracking. She could practically feel the pain of being away from her mom heal. Liz hugged her daughter closer. Caroline was her little girl, caught in between all of this mess. Caroline was Liz's life, all she really had left. Her daughter. "I will never leave you." She promised.
"I thought Damon hurt you. I was so scared for you"
"He did, I thought he was my friend. I was so confused." Liz told her. "It's okay mom. We're gonna get out of here. We'll find Klaus and get the hell out of dodge. I promise. Do you believe me?"
"Of course."
"Why did Silas bring you here?" She asked. Liz shook her head. Caroline could tell her mother was confused. It was like she was compelled. She needed to get her and Liz out of here before Silas killed her.
"Because I am a nice human being, or soon to be human being." Silas said walking in. She pulled away from her mother, put her arm around her protectively, and glared at him. "Calm down, Caroline. I can be decent you know? I thought you would like to spend time with your mother before I kill you." He smirked.
"You are a monster. You say you are doing this for love, but you are selfish!"
"Who hasn't been? Like when you killed those twelve witches. I was surprised getting that call. Before, I heard you were this sweet, amazing, bubbly, wouldn't hurt a fly, girl. But now, it's different. You killed an innocent werewolf-"
"She wasn't innocent. She was going to kill me."
"For her and Tyler, blah blah blah. I heard the story. Don't have two idiots do a geniuses job. Back to the point. What about when you just turned, you killed a man who had a family. Did you know I had a family? I had a child, I never even saw. The girl I love is gone! Tessa or her real name Quetsyiah, stole her from me! She was in a box waiting to be turned back from stone, and she stole her.
"She's alive?"
"She is, your death is going to make us happy, put us in peace."
"Klaus will find me. I know it. You don't deserve a happy ending Silas, You don't deserve peace" Silas chuckled darkly. He walked over to them.
He grabbed Caroline by her arm. Liz yelled for him to stop but all he did was smirk.
"That's what I'm planning on." Caroline looked at him confused. Silas ignored Liz's cries to let her daughter go.
"You see, I'm all about torture. You'll find out shortly. But for now." He paused and smirked at Caroline.
He slammed her head against the wall again and watched her fall unconscious again. Liz pull Caroline into her arms and stroked her hair. "I'm so sorry." She cried. Silas looked at them.
"Trust me Lizzy, she's better off in death."
"I want her found! Search everywhere and anywhere!" Klaus yelled.
Everyone nodded.
He had called every vampire, that can go in the light, to search for Caroline. He was on edge. He is supposed to protect her. He will not stop looking for her. How could he be so foolish. Fighting with Stefan instead of protecting her. Instead of holding her. "Still nothing?" Stefan asked walking in.
"No." He roared.
"We'll find her. She'll be safe, she has survived torture before." He told Klaus. Klaus looked at him with a glare. "She isn't supposed to! She shouldn't be tortured! I should be protecting her! Looking out for her!" He yelled. He looked at the table and flipped it over in rage. Glass broke and pieces were everywhere. Stefan flashed over to him and grabbed his shoulders.
"Look at yourself. This is what she was scared of! You need to act strong and find her. You aren't going crazy or going back to your old ways this fast! We'll find her. There is a chance she's still out there, still alive!" He yelled.
"Stefan, I can promise you, the first thing I will do if she dies. It'll bring pain to whoever's fault this is. I will make sure Silas feels the pain I will feel. I will torture in way unimaginable. You've seen what I've done, You've seen what both Rebekah, Elijah, and Katerina has done, you know what you've done, I will make sure it is worse than all of us combined. I will not let him or anyone he cares about live."
"What happens after? What happens when you realize she's really gone?"
"That won't be my problem." He looked over to Rebekah and Elijah. "It'll be theirs." Stefan sighed and ran his hands over his face.
"Klaus, I will be crushed but Caroline wants you to be the same."
"The same! She's completely insane is she thinks things will be the same! I will be crush! Everything that I have and worked for will be gone! How does someone move on from that? How?!" He screamed. He slammed Stefan against the wall and choked him.
"How?" He whispered.
Rebekah threw Klaus off him.
"Nik, stop! Look at yourself! This isn't you!"
"This is me."
"The old you. The you, Caroline despised. You had no hope, no trust, no happiness. Then she came into your life. You belief on love changed. You started to believe it was strength. Think about her. She's alive and you know it. Don't do this now, knowing there is a chance that you will get her back into your arms." Klaus slowly got up. "I can't lose her."
"You won't! Go with Elijah to see the witches. Give them Caroline's necklace and save her! We will continue looking for her."
"How do we get out of here?" Caroline asked her mother.
"I have no idea. I'm sorry Caroline." Caroline looked at Liz confused. "For what, I got you into this mess." Liz shook her head. "I should've told you before, about vampires. I should've been there more instead of working. I should've been a better mother."
"No, we aren't doing that. We aren't acting like this is the time you'll see me. Mom, we've been a team for a while. We aren't letting this Stefan look alike bastard hurt us. We're Forbes's, we kickass naturally. Right?" Liz laughed. "I mean it when I say you've grown into an amazing woman. You are strong, confident, beautiful, pure-hearted. You've grown up so much."
"Because of you, mom. Because of you."
"As much as I enjoy this because I do, I need to talk to Caroline." Caroline looked shocked as Damon walked in.
"Damon." He smirked. "Leave mom." She ordered. Liz shook her head. "You will leave, now." Liz nodded and walked out the room.
"I love the whole controlling thing. It's works." Caroline glared. "You sick asshole. You played with my head, I almost killed myself." She spat. "Because you are weak, useless, spineless. The Caroline I remember, stood up to an immortal werewolf/vampire. Now she's warming up his bed." He paused and laughed. "I never thought you would sink so low. I mean, I knew you were stupid but not this stupid."
"What about leaving the girl you love for revenge. What about not realizing that no one will ever love you."
"Elena does, she always have."
"Did she tell you that or did you just make it up in your sick little fantasy?"
"Do you know how hard it is to keep your humanity half on and half off. The parts I care about are Elena and my baby brother, who you stole from me by the way. Then everything and everyone else deserves to die."
"I didn't steal them away, you drove them away."
"Just like you did your dad. Where did he end up? Right, right. He ended up putting his faith in his little girl but got killed in the process."
"You can't hurt me anymore, Damon. I do not care about you and I am stronger than you! You are weak. Not being able to handle Elena and Stefan leaving you, turned you to go mad, not to care. You are weak not me."
Damon slammed her against a wall. "I'm weak, uh? Your life is ending today. It'll be nice knowing you are done for. No more trying to ruined me and Elena."
"You ruined it yourself."
"Stop blaming people for your mistakes. People who do terrible things, and don't regret it or feel remorse, are terrible people."
"I can't find anything. I am sorry but the witch he has, is blocking me." Sophie told Klaus.
"Find me a stronger witch!" He ordered. "No one is strong enough." She argued. Davina walked in with Marcel. "What's going on?" Marcel asked. "Caroline's missing." Elijah answered.
"Really? Stefan didn't say anything."
Klaus looked away from Hayley and took at Marcel intense. "Where did you see Stefan?" He ordered. "This morning, He had some woman with him. I assumed she was someone he cared about. She kind of looked like Caroline but older of course."
"Her mother, he most have brought her mother."
"Who is he?" Marcel asked. "That wasn't Stefan, it was Silas."
Sophie's eyes widened. "You brought him here? You didn't say that." Klaus rolled his eyes. "I had more pressing things in matter. Now, help me!"
"I've helped enough. I'm sorry Klaus but I can not find anything." He growled. "Maybe I can." Davina said. "You can't little witch, your magic is barely useful." Davina glared. "That isn't what I meant. I mean, maybe I can help you figure it out. Have you tried sensing her? If you can smell her then I can help. I have enough magic."
"To do what spell."
"It leads a fire path. It can help." Klaus smirked. "I'm impressed, but you can barely do spells."
"I'm stronger than you think, hybrid. I owe Caroline, so come on." Klaus nodded.
"Let's find your girl, Niklaus."
Klaus walked through the woods.
He sniffed her necklace again. "Around here, start the spell." He ordered.
"I wouldn't do that." Klaus growled. "Damon Salvatore." He announced. Damon came out of the bushes, smirking. "Klaus, you look good. I guess sex with Caroline would do that." Klaus went to attack him but Elijah stepped in front of Klaus. "Listen to what he has to say before you hurt him."
"Caroline's fine, a little banged up because of Silas's anger but fine. Mommy, daughter make up session happened. It was cute." He teased. "Damon, I will promise you pain you've never felt before. I am already preparing ripping your heart out and shoving it down Elena's throat-"
"Where is she?"
"Locked up, be a good boy and tell me where Caroline is, and you'll find her."
"No, I've been through yell. My brother choosing her over me, my girlfriend choosing her over me. It hurts! It's my turn to take someone that you love away!" Klaus smirked. "You're broken and alone." He watched as Damon's eyes turned furious. "I have all you wanted. Your brother, a girl who is happily in love with me, happiness. But you have nothing but a broken soul. Oh how that tables have turned."
"Caroline would agree."
"Where is she?!"
"She's dying around tonight. I know you want to see her, last goodbyes and all but that can't and won't happen, so..." Davina started chanting. She raised her hand. Damon soon became screaming, Klaus easily snapped his neck. "There one problem down, soon we can finish that other."
"Now, Davina, how about that spell?"
"Klaus!" Caroline giggled.
Klaus threw her over his shoulder. "What love?" He asked innocently. She giggled as they walked. "Come on! Let me down." She begged. "I quiet happen to like the view back here." He stated. He could tell he was staring at her ass.
"If you were a good boy and let me down, this conversation would be different."
"As tempting as that is, we're going sight-seeing"
He carried her to the balcony. "I thought we were going for sight-seeing?"
"We are." He pointed to the stars. "It's beautiful." She commented. He handed her, her necklace. You dropped this." She blushed. "I am very clumsy." She turned around and pushed her hair back. He felt him kiss her neck. She leaned her body and moaned.
He put the necklace in front of her and put it around her neck. He then started choking her with it. She gagged and hit him to stop.
"Stop!" Caroline screamed shooting up from the ground.
Silas smirked. "Nice dream?"
"Asshole."
"So mean Caroline, I thought we were getting along."
"You thought wrong." She stated. She slowly stood up. "Where's my mom?" She asked. "In the kitchen. I don't know what you were saying, your mom is an amazing cook."
"I didn't say she was a bad one."
"You were thinking it." Silas walked in front of her. "I can read your mind, thoughts, wants." He stroked her cheek. "Now you are thinking you want to kiss me." Caroline played along. "I do." She lied.
"Then do it." She leaned in but then kicked him in his crotch. He groaned falling on the floor. She kicked him in his ribs. "You must not be that good." She commented. Silas laughed.
He grabbed Caroline leg and flipped her on the floor. She hit her head hard. He crawled on top of her. "Do you think that I would fall for that."
"Now you'd fall for this." Caroline and Silas looked up and saw Liz with a gun.
Silas looked at her surprised. Before he could even move, Liz shot him in his shoulder. Silas screamed. Caroline pushed him off her. She glanced at her mom and ran to her. "Give me the gun mom." She ordered. Liz immediately handed her, her gun.
"Let's see if Stefan was right." She aimed the gun and started shooting Silas in his chest. "Yup, he was right." She grabbed Liz's hand and they took off.
"Will that keep him down."
"No but it'll give us a head start."
Klaus, Elijah, Davina, and Marcel continued to track the fire pathway, Davina held Caroline's necklace she as she chanted.
They saw the fire stop. "I don't see anything or anyone." Klaus growled. "It stops here. I don't feel anything else." Klaus closed her out and listened closely. He heard two heart-beats. "Elijah follow me." He ordered.
Him and Elijah walked and stopped when they heard talking from the tree.
"Mom we need to get out of here." He heard Caroline whisper.
"Caroline." He called out. She popped her head out with her gun at gun point. He raised his hands up.
She smiled brightly when she saw it was just him. She ran into his arms. They both embraced each other. The hours away were torture. They needed each other. They can't and won't be away from each other. He held her closely and kissed her head. "You are never leaving my sight again, love. Do you understand?" She nodded and took deep breaths. "Elijah, my mom hurt her leg, can you get her back to the house?" She asked.
"Of course."
"Mom, Elijah is going to take you to our home, Okay?" Liz nodded as Elijah helped her up. Soon he flashed them away.
Klaus kissed her deeply. "Don't ever leave me like that again." He whispered. She nodded and kissed him softly. "Never." She muttered. They pulled away slowly. He checked her, she had a bruise on her forehead. She was bleeding in the back of her head. "Let's get you home." He muttered. She nodded and smiled.
"Let's go home."
"They took the bait. Niklaus found her." Silas told his witch friend.
"So what now?" He asked.
"Now, I go to the Mikaelson's mansion, Elena distracts Stefan then I snap his neck. I pretend to be Stefan, you quickly do the spell. Then they all watch as I drain Caroline of her blood." Silas smirked. "Sounds evil and easy enough."
"It better. Now if you'd mine, I have a doppelgänger to snap."
Stefan ran to Caroline as soon as she stepped into the door.
Caroline hugged him back. "I swear to god if you get hurt again." He paused. She smiled. "I'm fine, look I'm fine." She said. "I don't care how fine you are. You're hair has blood on it and you have a bruise on your head. You aren't fine."
She pulled away and smiled.
"Stop worrying okay? Look Silas is still out there, it will be night soon. I just want to lay down." She said. Rebekah came in. "Caroline!" She said happily, she ran and hugged her. "I was worried."
"I know, I'm fine okay."
"How's my mom?" She asked. "Fine, we gave her some vampire blood, her foot healed, and she is fine." Caroline nodded. "I was knocked out twice, kidnapped, and mind controlled, I would like to sit down." Klaus picked her up.
"This isn't what I meant."
"I know."
He set them down on their bed. He kissed her softly. She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I will need to talk to my mom you know. We didn't talk about you or us." Caroline to him. "I finally have you back in my arms, and you want to leave them."
"Klaus!"
He chuckled and kissed her again. "I completely understand, love. But for now." He kissed down her neck. "I love you, you know that right."
"Of course I do, sweetheart."
"Good."
"Stefan can you come outside?" Elena asked.
Stefan nodded and kissed Rebekah's forehead before walking out with Elena. "Stefan, I still love Damon." Stefan looked at her surprised. "I know it's wrong but I do and I can't change it." Stefan nodded. "I'm happy with him like you're happy with Rebekah."
"I know my brother, I know what he's like with you. He encourage him to be a better person. Even after everything he has done to me and to Caroline, he's still my brother. You don't hurt family."
"I know."
She saw Silas standing behind Stefan. She nodded her head. "Loo-" Stefan neck snapped and he fell to the floor.
"Thank you, Elena. You've been a big help."
Silas took Stefan's leather jacket and walked inside.
Rebekah hugged him. "What did she want, darling?" He sighed. "Nothing important. Look, where's Caroline. The moon is up and Silas will be here soon." Rebekah nodded and kissed him. Silas kissed back. "Come on." She muttered.
They walked to the living room where Caroline was talk to her mom with Klaus, Elijah, and Katherine beside her. "Stefan! We've you been for the past ten minutes?" Silas shrugged. "You know here and there. I think we need to prepare for Silas."
"We were just talk about that, follow me everyone." Klaus instructed. They all went into the living room, while Silas and Caroline stood in the room next to it. "There is a secret door there. Caroline would be able to fit, she'll hide while we deal with Silas."
"Great, one problem though." Everyone looked at Silas/Stefan confused. "What it's a great plan. Yes, it means another month of torture but I can handle it." Caroline said. Silas smirked. "If only-"
"That's not Stefan!" Stefan said coming in. Klaus flashed try to flash in front of Caroline but he couldn't get out the room. "No!" He screamed.
He did not get fooled by Silas!
"Stefan, you came back early." Silas commented. "Let's her go!" Stefan yelled. Rebekah and Katherine looked at each other confused. "What happened?" Katherine asked. "He snapped my neck and then Elena's." Elijah helped Klaus try break the invisible force but they both couldn't make it through.
Rebekah and Katherine tried to get out the other door but the were all locked in. "Nik, We're stuck!" Rebekah yelled. "No!" Silas's witch came in. "Here you go, master." He handed Silas a big knife. He turned to Caroline who was leaning against the wall.
"Please, please, I don't want to die." She whispered, with her voice cracking. "Please." She begged. Klaus punched the invisible force again and again.
Silas put his hand on Caroline's neck. "You are nothing." He whispered. "You are meaningless, you aren't special, you are worthless, but you do have faith in things you shouldn't. The wrong things and wrong people."
"Silas I swear I will rip your head off!" Stefan threatened. Elijah tried to calm Klaus down, but it wouldn't work. "There no way out, Niklaus. And for being such a wonderful host. I'll kill her, in front of you." Caroline tried to hit him but it didn't work. He grabbed her arm and pulled her in front of everyone.
"Don't you dare, touch her!" Klaus screamed. His fangs were out and eyes were yellow. "I will destroy you!"
Silas raised the knife to Caroline's neck. "You know I actually think vampires are disgusting creatures. That is why I don't use my fangs." He chuckled and looked directly at Klaus. "I've been waiting for this for two thousand years. I hope you understand." He kissed Caroline's cheek. Klaus punched again and again, but he still couldn't get through. Liz watched in fear.
She was going to lose her daughter right in front of her eyes.
"Thank you, Caroline. It's been fun."
"I hope she sees you for the monster you are." Caroline said bitterly. Silas's smirk dropped. Klaus had angry tears falling down his cheeks while he pounded harder.
Caroline closed her eyes as she felt the knife on her neck. She gasped as Silas cut a hole in her neck. Silas bit on her neck and sucking the blood. Everyone watched with tears in their eyes. Liz and Rebekah decided they couldn't watch.
Klaus looked into Caroline eyes while she started to shake. Tears filled them as her life was ending.
Her and Silas started to shake and weaken. Caroline closed, Klaus made a small noise. "I'm sorry, Caroline." He whispered.
Silas and Caroline fell to the floor.
Caroline dead and Silas unconscious.
"No!"
