You're Human
"No!" Klaus screamed.
He punched the invisible wall but his fist when through. He flashed to Caroline and pulled her away from Silas. Her body was cold. No heartbeat, no breath, no movement. He bit into his wrist and tried to fed her his blood. "Sweetheart, please drink. Sweetheart, you need to drink." He told her. She didn't move. "Wake up, Caroline!" He roared. She was not dead, she couldn't be dead.
She was his everything. How could he lose her? How could his light? his soul? his happiness? For a thousand years, he's been a cold, heartless killer. He didn't care about anything. He ripped out hearts, snapped neck, daggered his family, said cruel awful things to his family. He hasn't cared, he didn't want to care, But then he met her. His redemption.
She was supposed to spend the rest of her human life with him. He promised her he would love her till the day she dies. She wasn't supposed to go this early. She wasn't supposed to go at all. She made him feel, she showed him how to love, to care. She was laying there, in front of him, lifeless.
He lost her.
Stefan flashed to Silas's witch as ripped his heart out. His best friend, practically sister, was dead. He promised himself he would not let her die. He promised himself he would not let another one of his best friends die. He promised her two years ago, he was never going to let anything happen to her. He failed, he failed her, himself, and Klaus. They might have disagreed on a lot of things concerning Caroline but they both love her.
She was is Klaus's happiness, his light and she was Stefan's family.
Bonnie watched from the other side. "No!" She screamed. No one heard her, she couldn't help anyone. She tried chanting but nothing happened. "I have to do something." She told herself. "Bonnie, there is nothing you can do." Grams told her. "I will not allow her to die! I died for Jeremy, now I will suffer even more here, to help her. You warned me and helped me when Elena turned into a vampire. How do I help?" Bonnie asked.
"I'm sorry child. But she can not be saved." Bonnie let out a sob. "No grams, no." She whispered.
Rebekah held Liz as she cried for her daughter, she tried to cover her tears. Caroline is her best friend. They hated each other in every bone in their body but now... then, she was her best friend. Katherine and Elijah stepped next to Klaus.
Katherine watched Caroline slowly. She was dead. After everything they've done, she died. That wasn't how it was supposed to be. Caroline is a Petrova. Petrova's are survivors. Elijah watched his brother sadly. He was breaking.
Klaus stroked Caroline's hair softly.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart." He cried. Elijah thought back to when Henrik died. Klaus said the same thing when he stared at Henrik's dead body. "Niklaus, brother." Elijah called. Klaus didn't move.
He failed to protect his happiness. She wouldn't be dead if he protected her from Katherine, from Silas. Klaus looked up. Katherine did all of this, he thought. It's her fault she's dead. All he saw was red, blood. It wanted Katherine's.
Everyone was shocked when they heard Klaus's growl.
He looked at Katherine and Elijah, golden eyes, red veins sticking out under his eyes, fangs out. Katherine's eyes widened. She slowly back away while Elijah stood in front of her. Klaus softly laid Caroline back on the floor and stood up.
He flashed and threw Elijah against a wall. He slammed Katherine into another wall, with his hands wrapped around her throat. "You did this! You just couldn't give up on the idea of me miserable, huh?!" He shouted.
"I didn't do this. I- I might ha... have turned her human but I didn't do this." She stuttered. She tried to break his hold on her, but it wouldn't work. He was stronger than her and always will be.
Elijah stood up.
"Niklaus, Katerina tried to help Caroline. You know this. She has apologized for her misguided decisions, now do not blame her for what Silas has done." Klaus turned to Elijah. "You have always been a fly in her trap. She doesn't care." He squeezed tighter on his grip.
"Pleas- please... Klaus." Katherine begged. Stefan walked towards them.
"Klaus, this isn't what Caroline wanted, sh-" Klaus flashed to Stefan and bit him. Stefan screamed in pain. Rebekah went to them but Elijah pulled her away from their brother. "Don't you dare speak her name!" He screamed. Stefan put his hand on his neck. Klaus bit him?
Klaus turned and looked at Katherine. "Now you. What will it be, Stefan's punishment, you run, or my favorite punishment for Elijah, locked away and suffering. Choose wisely." He threatened. Katherine shook her head.
Suddenly Caroline's eyes shot up and shot up, gasping.
Klaus flashed to her side. Everyone froze. How was that possible? She had no vampire blood in her system.
Caroline leaned against Klaus, breathing hard with her hand on her heart. No heartbeat. "I'm dead?" Caroline asked. Klaus held her closer and kissed the top of her head. "You're alright, Sweetheart. You're alright." He whispered.
Caroline looked around the room. Katherine, Elijah, and Rebekah looked scared while Stefan looked sick and surprised. "What happened?" She asked.
"Silas killed you." Klaus answered. She suddenly started screaming. Klaus held her face in his hands. "Nik, what's happened?" Rebekah asked. Caroline opened her mouth and her two teeth started growing. She cried in pain. "Her fangs are coming in." Klaus told them.
Her eyes went red, fangs were out, and veins showed under her eyes. She hissed.
Klaus slightly smirked.
"I'm a vampire."
Caroline sat with her mom on the couch, drinking a blood bag. Klaus was putting his blood in a cup for Stefan, which Caroline didn't take lightly. Katherine was being held by Elijah, while Rebekah watched.
They found Elena outside with her neck snapped, Caroline had Stefan carry her upstairs before they all talked.
"Here you go, ripper." Klaus smirked handing him the cup. Stefan nodded and took a sip. "This never would have happened if you had just calmed down." Stefan noted. Klaus rolled his eyes. "How did you react when I daggered Rebekah... wait right, you helped me for the love of Elena." He teased.
"Nik!" Caroline snapped.
"Sorry, love." Caroline rested her head on Liz. "How do you feel honey?" Liz asked.
"Dead, in the good way." She chuckled. Klaus sat next to them. "I didn't know there was a good way for being dead." She rolled her eyes. "I thought I was never going to see you guys again and now, I'm alive and healthy, plus I'll never age and I'll look like this forever! I'm so happy!" She said cheerfully.
"I want to know, where do you put Silas and what do we do with him?" Katherine asked.
"Easy, the second he wakes up, I'm going to rip his heart out of his chest." Klaus answered. No one disagreed. Silas has put them through hell, especially Caroline. Caroline looked at Klaus. "Can we go on a walk?" She asked.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Klaus asked.
"I want to try something." She smirked proudly.
"Then we better be off."
Caroline and Klaus were on the top of the building they were on for her birthday.
"Why do you want to be up here?" He asked. She smirked. "I died and came back to life as a vampire. You have know idea how good this feels." Klaus flashed in front of her, he pulled her closers to him. "I believe I do."
"It's just... I honestly liked being human, besides the Silas part. Now I'm a vampire again and feel amazing. I have no pains, I'm going to be with you forever, I'll never grow old and I'll look like this forever." He smiled and kissed her.
"I want to live for now on. I want to experience things. Dying changed my whole perspective on life. I mean... my boyfriend is an immortal original hybrid. He's been alive for a thousand years and survived this whole time. I want him to show me how to live." He smiled.
Just seeing her smile. Seeing her happy, excited, ready to live her new life in New Orléans. Her on his side, it's enough for him. Being next to her, is enough for him.
"Now, theirs this thing Elena showed me when you first left. I want to try it out." She announced. He lifted his eye brows. Elena taught her something about being a vampire? He doesn't even count her as a real vampire.
"It's falling off a building and living." He looked confused. She chuckled and grabbed his hands. "I'm going to fall off of her, and you go or do whatever you'd like. Okay?"
"Are you sure about this?" Caroline nodded.
"I just died, let me try it." He hesitated but then nodded. Caroline clapped her hands and jumped in joy. "Just think of this as getting over my fear of heights." He chuckled and followed her to the edge of the building.
"Ready?" She asked.
"Ready when you are, sweetheart." Caroline smiled. She raised her arms and started to lean back. She jumped off the building. Klaus immediately flashed and caught her. She smiled at him. "Nice catch." He smirked and sat her down. "I knew you'd catch me."
"No offense sweetheart. But catching damsels in distress is Stefan's thing, not mine." He teased.
"Well it's a good thing I'm not a damsel in distress." She commented, play along.
Klaus's phone started to ring. He pulled his phone out and looked at the collar ID. "Who is it?" Caroline asked. Klaus clicked answer and put the phone on his ear. "Stefan, not the best time right now."
"Unless Quetsiyah is there, now is the right time."
"What happened?" Klaus asked. Caroline listened to the conversation. "Silas's body is gone."
Caroline's eyes widened. Klaus growled. "What in the hell do you mean, his body is gone." They heard Stefan sigh. "His body is gone, along with Damon's in the cell we kept him in, and Elena's missing."
Klaus glared. Caroline shook her head. "Elena didn't do this." Caroline told him. "Like bloody hell she didn't. Stefan, I want you to find her. If I see her, she is dead along with you brother. Do you understand?" He seethed.
"I got it. Silas should be waking. We need to worry about what will happen when he does. It's a full moon tomorrow, he's going to drop the veil, Klaus."
"Over my dead body."
Caroline stared out the window.
Klaus gave her a daylight ring and a bracelet, just in case. She has never felt so hurt, so betrayed. Her best friend, since first grade, was lying to her the whole time. Elena was the nice one. She never wanted anyone to get hurt, yet she teamed up with Silas.
"Deep thinking." Elijah said walking in.
Caroline shyly smiled and nodded. "Just thinking about Elena." She answered. Elijah walked next to her. "Feeling betrayed?" He asked. She nodded and looked down. "Elena's been my best friend forever. She lied to my face, she acted like she was saving me yet... Yet she helps Silas."
"I know how it feel Caroline. But being betrayed by someone is better than being betrayed by everyone. My sister and brother left me before, when I choose to help Katerina, Kol and Finn were daggered and I felt alone." Caroline looked at him.
"You'll always have them, you know. Nik loves you, even if he acts like the big bad hybrid. Elijah, you have siblings, a family. My father died because he didn't want to turn, I got my mom into this big mess, and I lost two people who were like my sister, but you have a brother and a sister who love you. You've had it harder than me though. Your mom tried to kill you, your dad hunted you down. But you have always had you family, by your side, you next to there's. Never feel alone Elijah, besides you have Katherine now." Elijah smiled at the young girl.
"You are strong, Caroline. You have so much on your plate, yet you can handle it."
"I'm a neurotic, control freak. I can handle anything." She giggled.
Elijah smiled. "Don't mind us, we'll just leave." Klaus said walking in with Katherine. Klaus didn't like they way Elijah and Caroline talked. Katherine knows that their will never be a romance between them two but Elijah was still her man and she didn't like any other girls making him smile, even if it is her best friend.
"No, what's wrong. Did you find Elena?" Caroline asked.
"No, even better." Katherine smirked. Caroline and Elijah looked confused. "Follow us." Klaus told them.
They walked into the living room.
Matt and Jeremy were sitting on the couch. Caroline's eyes widened and Matt and Jeremy smiled. "Care!" Matt said excitedly. Both the boys jumped up and hugged her. Caroline smiled brightly. "I've missed you." Matt told her. "I've missed you too. I've missed both of you."
"Oh my god!" She said cheerfully. Jeremy and Matt both smiled.
"Enough of this cute fest. We need a plan for Elena and Silas."
"Elena? What happened Caroline?" Jeremy asked. Caroline closed her eyes. How was she going to tell Jeremy his sister backstabbed them. "Elena... She was working with Silas and Damon this whole time. She took his body before we could kill him."
Matt didn't speak and Jeremy looked livid. "No, Caroline this is my sister."
"She did it for Bonnie." Caroline muttered. Klaus looked at her closely. "Why else would Elena do it? We all want to see Bonnie, so she must have done it to get her back."
"She did." Bonnie said. Jeremy whipped back. "She did?" He asked. "I'm sorry, Jeremy." Bonnie apologized. "Is that Bonnie?" Caroline asked. "Yeah." He answered. "Bonnie, where is Elena and Silas?" Jeremy asked.
"I don't know. I've walked through all over but I can't find them. I can't just show up to them unless they're thinking about me."
"What's she saying?"
"Tell Caroline I miss her, so much."
"She says she misses you. A lot." Caroline smiled. "Tell her she better kick witch ass." Bonnie ordered. Jeremy smiled and looked over to Caroline. "She said you better kick witch ass." Caroline nodded.
"Tell her I love her." Caroline said.
"I love you too, Care." Jeremy repeated what Bonnie said. "I'll find out where Silas is and come right back here. I promise. "
Bonnie vanished.
"Bonnie's going to try to find Silas."
"Good. We have till night to find them, or the veil comes down. Quarterback and hunter, you will stay here and wait for Bonnie with Stefan and the sheriff, Elijah and Katerina will go talk with the witches, Rebekah warn the vampires, Caroline and I will go looking for Elena and Damon."
"I hate the woods." Caroline complained.
"And I hate this, so stop complaining." He ordered. "Whatever, we should be here soon." Klaus nodded. "What happened here, yesterday?" He asked.
"I woke up and found my mom, we talked, Silas threatened me and then slammed my head against a wall. I woke up again, and had a meaningful talk with my mom. Then Damon showed up, threatened to kill me, and then choked me. I managed to show him who was stronger." She smirked.
"He can't live after this, you do know that?" He asked.
She sighed. "It's just... This is Stefan's brother. Even after all the horrible things Damon has done to not only but everyone, I still end up saving his ass."
"Why?"
"Because Stefan is my friend. You don't hurt friends."
"As sentimental as that was, I'm going to end this conversation short." A voice said.
They turned around and saw Silas. Klaus step in front of her. "Calm down, I don't want anything to do with her anymore, but I do need you off my back." Klaus smirked. "Sorry Mate, I can't do that."
"Really? Caroline how much do you like blood?" Silas asked. Caroline raised her eye brows. "I don't know, a lot. Why does that matter?"
Silas smirked and held his hand up. "Best thing about being human again is, I'm once again a witch." Caroline felt her throat close. Klaus held her as she started to fall. "Stop!" He screamed.
"Choke on your own blood Caroline." Caroline cough as blood rose from her mouth. She started throwing blood up. Klaus flashed and choked Silas. "You end tonight." He threatened. Silas smirked and used magic to throw Klaus off him and against a tree.
"I suggested you all stop trying to kill me. I mean I am an amazing incredible, and all-powerful witch I am, you can't hurt me. But if you try to again, I might just do something crazy." Flames lit from Silas's finger tips. Caroline's eyes widened.
"Good, goodbye frenemies."
Klaus flashed to Caroline.
"I'm sorry." He apologized.
"Don't apologize, I don't want you to feel sorry, the sun is coming down in an hour."
"I'll call Elijah and tell him we need to meet here."
"Good. Nik, what happens if Silas bring the veil down? What will happen to the rest of us?"
"War."
"What happened, Niklaus?" Elijah asked once he noticed the blood on Caroline's shirt.
"Silas is playing games, We need to take him down. Soon the moon will rise and he will start the spell." Katherine shook her head. "There has to be something we can do to stop this."
"There isn't but the good news is, Silas doesn't have the anchor anymore, Quetsiyah does." Katherine rolled her eyes. "How is that good?" She asked. "It's good because we still have a chance to close the veil. Silas is opening the veil, just so Quetsiyah can come and try to stop him, he get's the anchor, stops it and then he gets to die in peace with his one true love."
"Rebekah just text me, 'you need to get here quick, Matt is helping Stefan with the vampires and we need someone stronger'." Katherine said out loud.
"Good, sweetheart. I can handle this." Elijah said kissing her lips softly.
"Stay out of trouble." Elijah nodded and watched Katherine walk away.
"It's six o'clock right now. The sun goes down in about a half an hour, the full moon rises in about an hour or two. We have that amount of time to stop Silas and find Elena and Damon."
"How do we stop them. New Orléans is a big place, we can't just find them in hour." Klaus looked at Elijah.
"Elijah, I have a plan."
"Do share brother."
"I have wolf senses, that much is obvious. I can find them by smell."
"Okay, come on then wolfy, we need to find them and end all of this." Caroline said excitedly. "Caroline, it isn't that easy. Niklaus will need to be alone, so he won't mix the smell with ours."
"Okay, I'll stay here and search with Elijah." Klaus shook his head. "Leaving you got you human and killed, no."
"Yes, you are going to find them and I am going to stay with Elijah, that's final. I'll be here. I promise."
"Fine." He sighed. "Listen to me, I will be fine." She laughed, she leaned in and kissed him.
Once they pulled away, he looked at Elijah. "Protect her." He demanded.
"Always brother." Elijah answered. Klaus flashed away.
"Ready?" She asked him. Elijah nodded and they started to walk. "How uncomfortable is it to walk in a suit?" She asked. "Very uncomfortable. Katerina likes it though." Caroline laughed. "Wow, I didn't need to know that." Elijah chuckled.
"Elijah, do you think that your dad will come back?"
"I hope not."
Rebekah, Stefan, and Katherine fought off over twenty vampires.
Marcel walked in and was shocked to see dead bodies. "What in the hell happened here?" He asked. Rebekah sighed. "Your old vampires are out of control. They should know who to listen to by now. I do not want to here another bloody word about being afraid."
"What happened?" Marcel repeated.
"The most powerful, strongest, meanest, oldest witch is here and is going to release every dead supernatural being."
"New Orléans is not a place for your Mystic Fall crap!" Marcel yelled. He did not want part in any of it. Klaus's parents, Mystic Falls witches, the old girl Quetsiyah, an anchor, doppelgänger crap. He only cared about being a vampire, he only cared about the vampires. "We tried to warn them and they started fighting us."
"It's fine, get these bodies out of here please. I know Klaus is in charge but what will the humans think if they see dead people in the towns local bar."
"Marcel, get the witches away from the woods." Rebekah ordered.
"It's going to be a long night."
Silas looked up at the sky.
The full moon was finally up. Silas smirked and looked at Elena. "Hand me the tombstone." He ordered. It was his day, no one was going to stop him. He is going to find Amara and end all of their misery. He was going to live a nice life in death with his one true love. They had both suffered enough, not being able to live with their own son. He was going to change all the bad times.
He was going to be free.
"Klaus is still looking for you, you do know that?" Elena asked handing him the tombstone.
"Klaus has no control over what happens tonight. He will suffer the pain of being immortal, of being in pain." Silas told her. Silas lit each candle. He had the tombstone, he had is energy, and he had his necklace made of witch bones. He was ready.
"Phasmatos Sal Vis Nas Ex Malon, Terra Mora Vantis Quo Incandis, Et Vasa Quo Ero Signos!,Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis, Omnas Quisa Operum, Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis! Omnaben Libras, Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis! Omnas Quisa Operum, Exalis Exalis! Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras, Et Vasa Quisa, Exu Quisa!" He chanted.
"Phasmatos Sal Vis Nas Ex Malon, Terra Mora Vantis Quo Incandis, Et Vasa Quo Ero Signos!,Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis, Omnas Quisa Operum, Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis! Omnaben Libras, Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis! Omnas Quisa Operum, Exalis Exalis! Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras, Et Vasa Quisa, Exu Quisa" He continued.
Elena watched as the wind blew fast, flames lit up, and Silas's veins stick out.
"Sigalis Intransium, Exalis Exalis! Omnas Quisa Operum, Exalis Exalis! Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras, Et Vasa Quisa, Exu Quisa"
"I can't find them, Elijah. It's been hours, the moon is up. We might not be able to end this, at least not tonight."
"Nik!" Klaus heard Caroline say. "We will, remember we always win in the end." Klaus smiled. "Okay, love. Elijah, brother, our mother and father might be here soon. What will we do then?" He asked.
"We fight, we win. Mother spent a thousand years making her plans to kill us, we are still alive. She made someone stronger than Mikael and we're still alive. Like your girl said Niklaus, we always win."
"Hello Niklaus." A voice behind him said.
Klaus froze. He knew that voice anywhere. "Hello Klaus." He cocky voice said behind him. He knew that voice too.
"Elijah, I'm going to need you to find me. We need to have a chat with our father and Tyler."
He hung up the phone and turned around.
"Hello Mikael, Tyler."
"Katherine, go find Elijah!" Stefan ordered.
"I'll be back. Make sure nothing happens to those two idiot humans and Caroline's mother." Stefan nodded.
Katherine walked off into the woods. She hated the woods, it always got her feet muddy. She heard a vampire moving behind her. Katherine chuckled. "Is the all you have sneaking up behind me. I'm sorry to whoever you are, but you're weak."
"That's an understatement, Katherine." A accented voice said.
Katherine smirked and turned around.
"Rose and Elena. Let's end this once and for all."
Stefan walked outside the house.
Rebekah was upstairs with Matt, Jeremy, and Liz. He knew Rebekah was stronger than him but he was not risking her getting hurt, even if she is an original. He heard a noise and turned around.
"Damon."
"Long time no see brother."
Elijah left Caroline to help Klaus.
Elijah made it clear that he doesn't want Caroline to move an inch away. He didn't know what would happen if she got hurt on his watch. Caroline looked around. She felt as if someone was watching her.
"Caroline." Someone whispered. "Caroline come here." The voice whispered again. She couldn't exactly make out who the voice was coming from.
She slowly walked deeper into the woods. "Hello? Who's there? Whoever you are I am stronger than you!" She yelled.
"At least I hope." She muttered.
"Caroline Forbes." The person said walking behind her. Caroline instantly knew who the voice belonged to. She glared into the sky. She turned around and bitterly greeted the person.
"Hello Hayley." She said filled with hatred.
The veil is dropped and now everyone is fighting!
Next chapter: Caroline and Hayley fight, Elijah and Klaus fight Mikael and Tyler, Katherine fights Elena and Rose, and two more people show up.
