andria58: Actually, it is a coincidence. I actually didn't really notice until you told me. Gah. Sometimes I just have short term memory. I sometimes feel like an idiot. I could change it. If it's really confusing people. Should I change it?

Just so you know:

"So, along with the protection deal, you will have to go to school with them. This school is called Westover Hall."

Kenji glanced through the window, seeing the school that might have been thought as intimidating. He closed his eyes and tapped his fingers against the door impatiently, wanting the car ride to be over.

Bianca's brother, Nico, chattered excitedly, just as he had been since the beginning of the car ride, "Wow! That looks like a castle. What do you think, Kenji?" Inwardly, Kenji sighed in exasperation, annoyed by the constant chatter of the younger boy. As much as he didn't want to admit it, the constant talk of Nico was starting to grow on him.

Bianca rolled her eyes at how hyper Nico was before looking out the window, "You're right Nico. It does kind of look like a castle. What about you, Kenji?" Bianca was still slightly wary around him, but he would be wary too. He doesn't blame her.

Kenji said fondly, "Yes, it does look like a castle." He felt the corners of his lips pull up slightly, sliding into another persona smoothly.

Nico beamed happily. He continued chattering, speaking any random thought that pops up in his mind. Kenji didn't even have to listen, he knew Nico was continuing to talk about a game came Mythomagic. He swears that Nico was obsessed with that game. He was explaining for the thousandth time to Bianca how to play the game. He held up a small figurine and a card. His mouth moved, but Kenji heard no sound.

Damien stared ahead, facing the road, smiling to himself. Kenji wished for the millionth time, to read the man. To tell what that man was thinking. Many other people betray their feelings to their face. More importantly their eyes. Damien's eyes always showed fondness when looking at the two siblings. But other than that, he showed none. Kenji tried many times to read the man, but he couldn't find any. He knew that this father, was a master of disguises. Just like Kenji was. After all, it takes one to know one.

Damien turned into the school parking lot and started to back into a parking space.

Once he stopped the car, he unlocked the doors and practically all hell broke loose.

It seems Bianca lost whatever control she had in the car about going to a new school. Nico followed closely by Bianca sped through the open doors of the school. Nico and Bianca soon escaped Damien and Kenji's sight.

Kenji stared at Damien's eyes, watching them. He stared at the door where Nico and Bianca disappeared in. A flash of pain and worry passed through his eyes, but it quickly escaped after.

Kenji guessed the pain was from Nico and Bianca leaving him. He was pretty sure all fathers felt that. Worry though. He was unsure. He dismissed it quickly though. It was probably was worry for the kids that his enemies would come after them.

Kenji popped open the trunk and lugged out the luggages for the two siblings and him. He used his elbows to shut the trunk before he felt a hand on his shoulder. He tensed. Resisting the urge to attack the hand because he knew it was Damien.

"Wait."

He set the luggage on he ground and turned to face him, "Yes?"

Damien tossed something at him. Using his fast reflexes, he caught his. It was rectangular. He raised an eyebrow at the man, "What is this?"

Damien smirked, "A phone. An iPhone to be exact."

Kenji rolled his eyes, inwardly narrowing his eyes, "Yes, I know, Why?"

Damien shrugged, "Well I noticed you didn't have a phone."

"Actually, it broke. Bianca accidentally knocked over a drink on the phone."

Damien smirked, though it didn't extend to his eyes, "Well, now you have a new phone."

"And I guess I should thank you for that so thank you," Kenji pocketed the phone.

"And," Damien added, tossing two more objects toward him, "these."

He sighed, "Let me guess, these are for Nico and Bianca,"

"Correct."

"I will thank you for them than." Instead of placing the phone in his pocket he just held it, making sure not to drop it.

Damien started explaining, "Look, I know you know how to use a phone, but those kids don't."

Kenji interrupted him despite the fact that it was impolite and is childish, "How do they not know how to use a phone. I know it is especially popular to have a phone. Or at least some type of electronic device."

Damien glared at Kenji, "Please don't interrupt me again. Now continuing, to call Nico, you press 1. To call Bianca, press 2. For Nico's phone. He presses 1, and he calls you. He presses 2, he calls Bianca. For Bianca's phone, she presses 1, she calls you. She presses 2, she calls Nico. Good? Good."

Kenji nodded, "Understood."

Damien jumps into the car and rolls down the window, smiling cheekily, "Bye." Before Kenji could protest, he drove away.

Kenji sighs, "Thanks."

He slung his duffel bag around his body and extended the handle of both suitcases. Conflicted, he placed the two phones in his pocket, opposite to the phone that was his. He started walking towards the front of the school, suitcases rolling beside him.

Kenji entered the larges doors to become tackled by two blurs. Nico and Bianca's arms were wrapped around his waist.

"Where were you, Kenji? We were lookig everywhere for you," their innocent eyes stared up at him.

He smiled broadly, "I was talking to Dad." He mentally winced at calling the man his dad.

"Oh."

A stict woman's voice called out from the end of the hallways, "Nico? Bianca? Where are you?"

Nico called out, "Here! Mrs. Heartfelt!"

A woman walking in high heels walked toward his voice, "There you are," she said in a relieved voice. She had blonde hair that was pulled back in a bun. A pair of reading glasses hung around her neck.

Nico ran to the woman and pulled her to Kenji, "Kenji, Mrs. Heartfelt, Mrs. Heartfelt, Kenji."

Kenji stuck out his hand, "Hello my name is Kenji."

She looked him over and grasped his hand, shaking it once before letting go.

"Mrs. Heartfelt. May I ask who you are?"

He plastered a charming smile on his face, "I am Nico's older brother. Pleasure to meet you."

"Yes, pleasure to meet you too."

Nico popped in, "She is the secretary."

She nodded stiffly, "Yes I am."

A bell rang throughout the school. Children from all ages poured out into the halls.

Mrs. Heartfelt glanced around, "Why don't we head to my office and figure out why you are here, okay?" she suggested.

"Of course," Kenji nodded.

He tilted the luggage back and followed the strict secretary, Nico and Bianca trailing behind him.

The secretary led the two around the school, after many twists and turns, she pushed open a door labeled 'Secretary'.

"Please sit," she invited.

Bianca and Nico immediately pounced on that offer. Kenji followed, but navigated through her office at a more sedate pace.

As Nico and Bianca sat impatiently on the sofa, he remembered something. He dig around in his pocket and handed Bianca her hat, he smiled, "Wouldn't want you to forget it."

She smiled ecstatic at him, "Thanks, Kenji."

She paused for a second before smirking mischievously, "Ken."

Kenji's eyes widened and mock-growled, "What have I told you about that name?"

She smiled innocently, "To not call you it."

He scowled, "I will not be related to that man-Barbie."

Suddenly he felt a vibrating in his pocket and it started to ring. He frowned, someone's calling me, but who elses has my number other than Nico and Bianca?

He stood up and went over to a corner of the office and picked up the phone, he was hesitant to use the phone because he didn't check the phone for tracking devices or bugs yet, "Hello?"

A familiar male voice reaponded, "Hey, Kenji."

Kenji's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Damien?"

He cheerfully replied, "Yep! That's me!"

Kenji sighed in annoyance, "Why are you calling me? And how did you get my phone number? I don't even know my own phone number! Yet at least."

He explained, "Well, I forgot to tell you that to call me, you dial 3. Same for Nico and Bianca. 3. That is all I want to tell you, bye!"

He hung up. Kenji pocketed the phone once more and headed the couch where the siblings and Mrs. Heartfelt was talking.

They seemed to end the conversation right as he finished he phone call.

Mrs. Heartfelt looked at him, "So, from what Nico and Bianca told me, you are from Japan."

He smiled, "Yes, that is correct."

Mrs. Heartfelt actually looked shy for a moment, "Do you mind if you speak some Japenese? I've always loved the language. Can you say, good morning, in Japenese?"

Kenji smiled, "Sure." :Good morning.:

She nodded, "Thanks." She mumbled something under her breath. It sounded like she was repeating what he said under her breath many times.

The group in the secretary's office sat silent as they listened to the secretary repeat of 'good morning' in Japenese.

She finally stopped after a couple of minutes after she was satisfied that she had remembered.

Mrs. Heartfelt looked at Nico, Bianca, and Kenji, "If I may, what are you doing in Westover Hall today?"

Nico and Bianca stared at Kenji expectantly. Kenji nodded, "Yes. If I am correct, today there is supposed to be transfer students here today."

Mrs. Heartfelt frowned slightly before standing up, pulling open a drawer in here desk, grabbing a file, before flipping through the file. Her eyebrows raised, "It seems you are correct. There are three transfer students arriving today named Nico, Bianca, and Kenji. What are your ages?"

Nico smiled and pointed to himself, "I'm 10."

Bianca said, "I'm 12."

Kenji was the last, "I am 13, well almost 14."

Mrs. Heartfelt's eyes widened at his answer, "Wow. I would have taken you at older."

"I get that a lot."

She straightened the files, "Well, we should probably get you settled in," she smiled slightly.

She stood and beckoned us to follow her, "First, we are going to go to Bianca's dorm and meet her roommate. Class should be done by now."

As we walked throughout campus, several curious students stared at the group of newcomers, us.

We came to a stop in front of a door that looked just like the doors of the rest of the campus, except for the number.

Mrs. Heartfelt knocked on the door calling, "Amanda? We have a new roommate for you. She's a transfer student."

A young girl about Bianca's height swung open the door. She had brown hair with blue highlights, blue streaking across her hair.

"Roommate?" she asked while chewing a piece of gum.

Mrs. Heartfelt nodded, "Yes. This is your new roommate, Bianca. Bianca, this is Amanda. She is also 12."

The two girls nodded at each other, "Hey," they greeted in unison.

Bianca was about to enter her new dorm with her new roommate when Kenji called out to her, "Wait."

Bianca glanced back, "Yeah?"

"I need to give you something."

Bianca shrugged, "Okay." She stepped forward.

Kenji dug around in his pocket. "Here," he held out the shiny new iPhone, "it's from Dad."

She examined the phone, "Cool."

Kenji dug out a similar phone for Nico, "Here Nico. There is one for you too."

He smiled brightly, "Awesome."

"So, Bianca, if you press 1, you will call me. If you press 2, you will call Nico. If you call 3, you will call Dad. Nico, if you press 1, you will call me. If you press 2, you will call Bianca. If you press 3, you will call Dad. Do you get it?"

They both nodded, "Got it!" they chorused.

Kenji smiled, his lips were starting to get cramped by the amount of smiling he did, "Now go have fun."

They sped over to him and hugged him, "Thanks."

Bianca entered her dorm room after saying 'bye' to Kenji and Nico one more time.

After, Mrs. Heartfelt led Nico and Kenji to Nico's room. She led them to a similar door, "Here it is." She knocked on the door again. Except instead of calling out to the person in he room. The door swung open at once.

A boy, albeit shorter than Nico emerged, holding a book that looked quite thick, "Can I help you?"

Mrs. Heartfelt smiled fondly, "Hello Dean."

Dean stared up at Mrs. Heartfelt and replied politely, "Hello Mrs. Heartfelt."

Mrs. Heartfelt gestures to Nico, "This is your new roommate, Nico."

Dean shyly waved, "Hi Nico."

Nico, the opposite of Dean, waved energetically back, "Hi Dean!"

Mrs. Heartfelt said, "Well I will leave you two to be acquainted as I lead Kenji to his room."

Nico hugged Kenji, "See you later."

Kenji hugged back, "See you kiddo."

Nico walked in and the door slammed shut behind him.

Kenji laughed softly to himself, "Those two boys are practically opposites."

Mrs. Heartfelt chucked, "Hopefully, they will even themselves out."

"I agree."

They walked for a little while longer, before reaching a door, "Well this is your room, Mister Di Angelo."

Kenji smiled at Mrs. Heartfelt, "Thank you for your help. You have been a great help."

Mrs. Heartfelt smiled, "No need to thank me. It is in my job description to help kids like you. I, for one, wish that every kid was as polite as you."

Kenji merely smiled modestly.

She knocked on the door and a guy that looked way too old for 14 opened the door. That guy had acne all over his face and had crutches.

Mrs. Heartfelt gestured to the guy, "This is Grover Underwood."

Kenji greeted, "Hey Grover."

Grover asked, "Who are you?"

Kenji held out his hand, "Kenji Di Angelo."

"Hey Kenji. So, why is he here?" He directed the question at Mrs. Heartfelt.

Mrs. Heartfelt answered, "This is your new roommate."

"Oh," realization dawned on his face. He stepped aside and gestured to the inside of the dorm, "Welcome to my humble abode."

Mrs. Heartfelt nodded, "Well I will be leaving now. Kenji, if you need anything, anythjng, you can drop by my office anytime."

"I will, Mrs. Heartfelt."

Kenji stepped into the dorm. One half of the room was already decorated and personalized by Grover. The other half was still plain. From behind Kenji, Grover stared at him in confusion.

Kenji spun around in a circle, "You decided to leave one half of the room empty? Why?"

Grover shrugged, "Well, I thought it would be rather unfair for other kids if I have a full room and they have a half room."

Kenji tilted his head from side to side, "That's true."

Grover asked, "So, what do you want to do now?"

Kenji shrugged then asked, "What's your phone number?"

Grover admitted, "Don't have one."

Kenji raised an eyebrow, "What have you been doing? Living under a rock?"

Grover smiled a little half-smile, "Maybe I was."

"Whatever dude."

Kenji slumped on his bed. Acting like a teenager was hard. He had no idea it would be so hard. He frowned. Something was different about Grover. He racked his brain. He scoured memory upon memory about what Grover reminded him of.

He closed his eyes thinking. He frowned, he would have to look through the mythology books even more.

Grover asked him a question that ripped him from his train of thought, "So, you ready for school?"

Kenji mock-groaned, "Ugh... No."

Truthfully, he was very excited, he really never got to go to school. He taught himself. Pouring over multiple library books on every subject he could get ahold of. He constantly dreamed what school would be like.

Another question from Grover pulled him out of his thoughts, "Do you have any siblings?"

Kenji nodded, "Yes. Two siblings."

Grover sighed, "I'm an only child."

"Do you want to meet my siblings?" Kenji offered. "I want to check up on them tomorrow and you would come with."

Grover smiled, "Sure!"

Kenji held up a finger, "First I need to call them to see if they want to meet you too and are okay with it."

Grover nodded his consent.

Kenji pulled out his newly acquired iPhone and called Bianca first.

Bianca picked up, "Hey, Kenji."

"Hey, Bianca. Do you mind if I bring my roommate with me when I check up with you guys?"

"Yeah. Sure. Where do you want to meet?"

"How about...at the cafeteria when we get out breakfast?"

"Sure."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Kenji hanged up. "Bianca said yes, well meet at the cafeteria."

Kenji called Nico, "Nico?"

"Hey Kenji. What's up?"

"I'm going to bring my roommate goeet you guys, okay?"

There was a slight hesitation, "Uh. Yeah sure."

Kenji frowned, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine."

"Okay," Kenji relented. "Well, we'll be meeting at the cafeteria in the morning. And Nico? You do know you could tell me everything, right? That's what big brothers do."

Nico stayed silent for a moment, "I know." Then he hanged up.

Kenji informed Grover, "They both said 'yes'. We will be meeting them in the cafeteria in the morning."

"Cool."

Hope Nico is okay.
